Can't recommend this place enough, it's not a greasy spoon cafe, on the contrary you'd be hard pressed to find the quality of fried fish served here any where in the UK.

Excellent service, food delicious. I had haddock chips and mushy peas. The hadock was beautiful, fresh fish, lovely light batter. The chips were home cooked. Very reasonable prices for such quality. There is a bar.

Always the best chip shop food anywhere on the coast, we wouldn't go anywhere else! Their new tapas menu is excellent, the only problem now is having so much to try to choose from! Last visit I tried the new halloumi burger which was fantastic, and absolutely one I will be getting again! 100% recommended, for both sit in and takeaway

28/08/2021: hadn't been to The Big Fish for a while so went for takeaway today...no other words for it except for delicious and exceptional! By far the best "chippie" on the Coast....Anna & team be very proud!! Just polished off a take away from The Big Fish....cod and chips plus battered sausage and chips with my partner ohhh and don't forget the onion rings (that are to die for)! Perfect on all counts...Staff great and good amazing...very much recommended!

Fabulous Cod & Chips with Hot Curry Sauce. All food is cooked fresh while you wait and its worth the wait. I would say its the best on the Costa Del Sol. We don't have anything like this in Monte Carlo

Can honestly say i had the best fish and chips ( takeout) I've had in years. Crispy batter , beautiful white fish ( no skin) and perfect chips ( not soggy at the bottom of the container.) Will definitely go again!

Great fish and chips. Very friendly staff. Spacious seating inside and outside on the covered terrace. Often eat here on the way back from the school run or a late evening take away. The desserts are delicious.

Delicious juicy Cod, freshly cooked chips. House wine was good but unfortunately no beer available other than Lager or Guinness which causes a problem for us as hubby can't drink lager only bitter. Saying that he enjoyed his glass of wine

Still the best place on the coast for fish and chips. There’s so much care gone into the making of the batter and the frying of the fish. Perfect crispy light batter.

Fish was meaty, battery was light and not greasy, chips were spot on and the Mushy please were the best I've tasted in a long time. My girlfriend had the battered sausage and that too was not greasy at all. I was impressed with everything about this place and I will definitely be back when I'm in La Cala de Mijas. Great job Ladies 👌🏽

Seriously, hands down the best fish n chips, with a bottle red vino I have ever had. The batter on the generous fish portion was crisp and tasty, staying crunchy to the last bite. The chips were fresh, hot, light, fluffy and filling. Mint mushy peas, washed down with a decent plonk. The reasonable bill was a pleasure to pay! Highly commended (and I very rarely recommend UK food outlets abroad because I prefer local dishes). Try The Big Fish at least once on your next holiday, you won't regret it.

What can I say except epic! The cod and chips was beautiful, light crispy batter, fluffy white flaky cod. Chips golden and cooked to perfection, curry sauce outstanding. This is the best traditional british fish and chips shop on the Costa. Well priced and big portions. Staff are all friendly and attentive, nothings too much trouble. Spotlessly clean and well presented. I can't praise this establishment enough! Well done!!

In the "cheap and cheerful" bracket, but very nice fish n chip and excellent value. The draft beer was also very good (not sure what brand it was), which was a bonus. Service was a tad slow, hence the 4 stars rather than 5.

I only went for a basic takeaway of cod and chips. The food was cooked to order and did not take too long. It was well wrapped and stayed hot long enough to get it back to the apartment, about 10 minutes away and tasted good. I would certainly go back for another. Not sure if I would eat there because it is right on the edge of the main A7 coast road.

There is a very good selection on their menu and all reasonable prices. We sat outside on their terrace as we had our little dog with us. The staff were all very pleasant and friendly. Would recommend & shall eat here again.

I felt the pie had been microwaved as it was hot in the middle and had a "soggy bottom" but the pastry crust on top was tough..not the best chicken and mushroom pie either.. jumbo fish and chips meal my companion had was good.

Very greasy fish and half cooked chips

Sat for half hour no one even bothered to come from behind the counter. Only ever 2 staff on and they just can't cope. Shame chips are nice but not worth the wait.

Worst meal to date at the big fish. Chips under cooked and half of my fish....NOT NICE....wont do the 20 min drive to go back there.

Can’t rate this place. It was closed when I arrived in a taxi (15euro) at 21.35 bad behaviour that. If I hear one more covid excuse for bad manners I’m going to scream

Came over 3 years ago with large group and was perfect fish and chips enjoyed by all 14 of us but came back this week and fish batter was very fatty and fish was much smaller portions and chips were also fatty nowhere near as good as 3 years ago also need more staff as poor waitress run off her feet.

The staff did not apologise for this. I was given another meal after letting staff know, but was still charged for the inedible fishcakes. While the fish and sausage ordered by my family were good, the chips served with them were obviously not fresh as they were hard and lukewarm. Overall we left disappointed with our meals after hearing such great reviews!
