Santo Remedio offers a vibrant atmosphere with colorful decor and mariachi music. The food is generally well-received, especially the "cafe de la hoya". However, some customers have experienced slow or inattentive service, and others find the prices too high.
Tip: Be prepared for potentially high prices, and consider that service quality may vary.
Saw this place on instagram. So I went. Very nice & friendly staff. I got the carne asada tacos brunch Special. Its was not the best portion size but the flavor was fabulous. We had two different types of chelaquiles. I must say the poblano chelaquiles were bomb. Know that it is a bit spicy. The cafe de olla was bomb. All in all I would recommend this restaurant. I will definitely come back w/more friends
Santo Remedio Flavor, Heart, and $10 Magic Santo Remedio is the kind of spot that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled into something special. The vibe is warm, the service is genuine, and the food Pure comfort with a twist. Their $10 lunch menu is a total steal think El Burrito, a breakfast burrito packed with beans, potato, egg, and chorizo that hits all the right notes. The Horchata Toast is a standout: French toast dipped in a dreamy homemade horchata sauce. Other favorites include Chorizo Enfrijoladas tortillas stuffed with chorizo and beans, sizzling Chicken Fajitas, rich Carne En Su Jugo with pinto beans and flank steak, and classics like Chile Verde, Carnitas Michoacanas, Chile Relleno, and the Sope y Enchilada. And if you’re thirsty, their $7 bar deals are just as enticing. Sip on Mimosas in Orange, Guava, or Strawberry; Margaritas in Lime, Mango, or Strawberry, or a crisp Paloma made with house tequila. Whether you’re chasing flavor or just a great deal, Santo Remedio delivers with heart and a whole lot of deliciousness it's a hidden gem with deco that makes you want to Instagram memories, and the food is delicious.
Excellent food, dessert, cafe de olla, customer service, D.J., and singers. Will definitely be back.
Food was DELICIOUS!! Atmosphere was beautiful and the staff were friendly and attentive. This Atole de nuez is hands down the best.
Despite what other reviewers are saying, everything at Santo Remedio was fantastic. We came for brunch and mimosas and it was some of the best food that we've had in the Orange area. The atmosphere, the service, the food was all incredible. We saw a post from Instagram and new we had to go and we were not disappointed. Highly recommended for anyone looking for good, authentic Mexican food with a big variety for brunch, lunch, and dinner.
I recently came to Santo Remedio for their $10 lunch specials and I am so glad I did! From start to finish, everything was fantastic. The Chilaquiles were absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The Birria tacos? Bomb. The Birria was so tender and flavorful, I could’ve eaten them all day. I also tried the pork baguette with Birria and wow, just wow. It was a game-changer. The drinks were $7, which I thought was reasonable given how amazing everything was. The vibe here is great, and the service was friendly and quick. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of the menu—this place is a must-visit if you’re in the area. Highly recommend!
This is my first time at this place. It is a great environment with Mexican ranchera music, and I love it. This is the music I have loved to hear since I was little. My mom used to put it. The service is excellent. The waiter Luis is so friendly and charismatic, and he is so attentive to serve. Also, there's another Lady Benny who was so helpful and enthusiastic to serve us. There's plenty of parking, mariachi music Friday at 6:30 pm and Sunday at 11:30 am for brunch. Very nice decoration. And the food big portions since the entries, very good flavor. The drinks in happy hours 30% discount and pitchers at 24 dlls ,five margaritas from that. I love this place. I highly recommend this place and of course I'll come back soon.
First time going to this place and it was amazing! The customer service was spot on. Very fun and welcoming. Attentive to customers. The food was beyond delicious!! The authentic taste to the trio of enchiladas were just mouth watering!! The salsa verde and mole were delicious!
Great experience, people and food definitely coming back as much as we can. My girl enjoyed everything as-well. Definitely very authentic and a place you can respect
Excellent place to have lunch! The service was very friendly. We stayed longer than planned and plan to come back on the weekend to enjoy the food again and listen to live music. This is a new favorite spot for us.
Me and my friends had a great time at Santo Remedios! Our server, Jose, was fantastic—attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect. The food was delicious, the drinks were on point, and the vibe was just right. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!
My cousin and I tried this restaurant for the first time during lunch on a Friday, and we were able to be seated immediately. They have an amazing deal for $10 lunches along with discounted drinks & appetizers during lunch hours (Tue-Fri). Since we were celebrating birthdays, we indulged in their churro with ice cream and tres leche cake (both delicious!).
Food and service were excellent. Nice gem for group get togethers or meet up before a concert. Drinks are fantastic. Love that the menu is not a long typical Mexican menu. This is a short menu with well selected items. Good offerings of tacos, seafood and some classic plates. Very generous portions too, for sharing. Enchiladas trio was super rico!
Santo Remedio is where the Mexican food is authentic, but the music is... interesting. I mean, ranchera techno? I was expecting Mariachi or some Nortec Collective vibes. But hey, what do I know, I'm just a Caucasian dude who loves Mexican food. And love it, I did! The shrimp tacos? Amazing. The sample margaritas? Even better. Pro tip: get the small margaritas before committing to the large ones... trust me on that. But, Santo Remedio, can we talk about the elephant in the room? Or rather, the lack of air conditioning? It gets HOT in there, especially when you're sipping on those delicious margaritas. I'm pretty sure I sweated out an entire glass of water. All jokes aside, the food is top-notch, and I'll definitely be back. Just don't forget to bring a fan... or a personal misting system.
I came to celebrate my birthday and oh my gosh the environment was so nice! Very clean, food was good, and drinks were the perfect strength. Their Paloma's were better than the margaritas but it was still delicious. The servers were so sweet and quick. I would definitely recommend this spot.
I had my Mother's 80th birthday here. The service and food were amazing. The Mariachis were fantastic.Thank you to all the staff who helped make my mom's birthday so special! ❤️
This retardant is amazing!!! The food is super delicious and so are the margaritas. Everyone enjoyed them selves and where blown away with the great services and wonderful atmosphere on mariachi friday!!! Can't wait to go back! Only thing I wish was different was that the mariachi was so loud you can't hear each other wile they play but that's OK the music is super nice.
Great place to take the family for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Beautiful paintings and great service. Highly recommend this awesome restaurant They also have a specific room for events.
This place is lively and they have mariachi on Thursdays! The food was exquisite, chicken mole enchiladas actually taste like home made enchiladas and not some wanna be . They are filling , the food portion per plate is a lot. The margaritas were delicious 😋 there’s lots of parking near the restaurant. Staff is super friendly! Definitely coming back for more delicious food and drinks 🍹
This is the best spot ever!!! The food is to die for! For breakfast, the chilaquiles are sooooo good. I get it with the green sauce with eggs sunny side up and birria. I'm drooling just thinking about it lol. They have red sauce too which I will try next time we are in time. The guac with chicharron is mind blowing. Just yummy all together! The flights are deliiiiiiiiiish. Different flavors and just refreshing. The decor is so dope. It's even better at night when some things glow. The atmosphere is just great all together. Our waiter, Benny, was awesome. Very attentive and super helpful. If you are ever not sure what you want to get, just ask the waiters. I spoke to 3 and told me which dishes they like the most. On Sundays they have live Mariachi and it was so much fun. My 80 year old aunt was jamming. Just such a fun place to go to and the food is on point. Enjoy!
Was just there celebrating my niece's 21st bday. Vibes were cool. Food was great, service was great
From the moment we walked in, we felt like family! The food was absolutely delicious—every dish was full of flavor and clearly made with care. Our waiter, Ruben, provided outstanding service, taking the time to explain much of the menu in detail, which made our experience even better. The highlight of the night was when Ruben and the staff surprised us with a cake for my brother’s birthday. Their kindness and attention to detail made our celebration extra special. If you’re looking for a place with amazing food and warm, welcoming service, I highly recommend this restaurant. We’ll definitely be coming back!
Place was L-E-G-I-T!!! I had the Guajillo Chilaquiles with birria, wife had the Poblano Chilaquiles, & daughter had the green Chilaquiles . ALL 3 were DELICIOUS!!! Their Cafe de Olla was Amazing, and their carne asada looked and smelled to die for. Definitely plan to go back. I will try to get some pictures next time to repost here.
I had seen the restaurant on IG, and since I was in the area, we decided to go for Sunday brunch. The food was delicious, and I loved the vibe! My boyfriend had the huevos ranchero, and i have pozole with the Margarita flight! There were a few tables celebrating bday's, and if you want to be the center of attention this is the place for that. There are a lot of great murals and places to take pictures to memorialize the occasion. I would definitely come back!
It was our first time here, and we came here for a private birthday party. We were impressed with the ambiance, food, and staff. Everything was great, and we had a blast. Food was delicious and fresh. Staff was extremely friendly, attentive, and helpful. Highly recommended!
This Mexican bar is sooooo fun!! I have never been to a brunch bar with such a fun vibe like this. Follow me! Highlights of the menu: 1. Full bar of all the amazing cocktails - All kinds of Tequila! 2. Guacamole chicharron - They have a bar to freshly made it next to your table 3. Enchilada trio 4. Surf and turf tacos 5. Birria tacos 6. Chilaquiles verdes chicken 7. Crepas
On an adventure looking for a new mexican food spot to eat at, we came across Santo Remedio Mexican Restaurant. Not knowing what to expect (went in blind) we were floored with the authentic Mexican vibe you get upon entering the establishment. From huge murals on the wall to mariachis playing live music while you dine. The food is delicious and the drinks pack a punch. This spot caters to people who are single, couples and families. To cap off the experience, once the live music was done, we got treated to a DJ playing all the jams everyone knows. Can't wait to come back and try something new
First time here. We had heard about it and drove by a couple of times. Finally we went in. During happy hours on a Tuesday. Food was good. Thye start you with a basket of chips and salsa. The salsa was good but not spicy. We asked for a spicy one and whatbthey vrought back did not dissappoint. It was definitely spicy. We had the flautas and the ceviche. Happy hour portion..Note it's smaller that regular is what I assumed. But they were good. We also ordered three tacos. One asada one carnitas and one pastor. The ceviche lacked a little salt for my taste but I had them with their chips. They have a bit of salt so they were perfect combo. The flaunts were delicios. And the tacos I was surprised to find them all tasty. Parking at the time we arrived was not an issue.
This place had all the vibe for a Friday (lunch)! Party started early. Definitely think this is a great place to celebrate birthdays or even sit in the bar area for some drinks and appetizers. We came here for a coworkers bday. They took reservations which was nice because we were on a tight schedule. They sat us quickly and gave us time to look over the menu. Options were endless! Drinks have a separate menu and they have flight options if you wanted to try a lil bit of it all. As for food, we were a party of 7 so we ordered family style. Ordered a bunch of appetizers and entrees so we can try a little bit of everything. I’m picky when it comes to Mexican food, but I would say this place hit the nose on seafood and traditional dishes. Portions are large (food and drinks). Loved the music (can’t go wrong with Bad Bunny playlist). The art around the restaurant was fun and lots of photo ops. Definitely a place I’d come back too.
Had a great lunch here. I ordered the Enchiladas trio and my husband ordered the chile relleno with the chicharrónes and guacamole. We had the mezcalitas! The food was very delicious, the drinks were tasty & strong and the staff was very helpful with recommending dishes. I’m definitely coming back to host a larger group. Thank you!
The food was great, our waiter was preoccupied with other things. She forgot our drinks and chips/ salsa. She came out informing us that they had ran out of chips. They will be cooking a new batch and will bring them out when they are done. We asked another waiter for our drinks but I guess they were too busy to bring out our drinks. We finally got our drinks when we asked a third waiter by then we were done with our meal. Keep in mind it was slow Saturday around 3-4pm. There was only 3 other tables, two of them arrived after us and they got their drinks and chips. Sadly, we never got our chips, however she was on point when rushing the bill over.
Everyone was friendly and food was really good! 💯☺️ My only thing is that the music was sooo loud 🔊📢🔊 especially when the guys would sing. It killed the atmosphere. I took my moms there for dinner because It was her birthday. We couldn't hear each other talk. Please adjust!
Its difficult to find a good Mexican restaurant in OC that has good cafe de olla, serves food in traditional plates and cups made of barro, and food tastes just like moms house. First time coming here and probably the only place I will come for some good chilaquiles and salsa and chips. Food was delicous, no seasoning needed and just above all standards. We also got the molcajete and we devoured it so no picture of that.
The food in The Vibes were great food delicious and the atmosphere of the restaurant has everything and it's so aesthetic but the service wasn't that great our table stayed full with all the dirty plates they never came around to pick them up and we felt rushed to order the waitress attending us seemed agitated
Good deals for.brunch. the brunch portions are good for the price. The staff is.very attentive always asking if you need another drink or anything else.
Love the asthetic to the place, and the drinks are so cute and yummy! Food is good, similar to other modern Mexican gastropubs, just lack or spiciness all around, but they will provide a yummy spicy salsa if asked, which will help spice up your plate. Great service and very accommodating with making reservations. Cool birthday celebration menu option! There is plenty of parking and an easy location to find. Cheers :)
I went there for breakfast. The service was good. And our waitress was very nice. I gave it 4 stars because number one, not many options of food to choose from. Second, a bit prici for the food. I got $20 for 2 regular size waffles and 2 small chicken strips. Third music is too loud for a small place. If you want to be able to talk to your party and eat this is not really the place. But if you don't mind the loud music than you mind enjoy it.
First Visit Was On 12/20/25. There Was No One At The Host/Check-In Stand. While I Was Waiting, A Couple Of Staff Members Passed By & Didn't Acknowledge Me. I Didn't Realize There Was Live Music On Saturdays And/Or The Weekends. It Was Pretty Loud, I Couldn't Hear Myself Talk!!! The Shrimp Ceviche (Marinated In Lime) & Shrimp Gobernador Tacos Was Fresh & Pretty Good.
The restaurant is nice, the food is good, and the prices are reasonable. The only issue is that the music is too loud, making it impossible to have a conversation. The customer service is not very good either. They practically forget about you — when we arrived, they gave us a table, but the waitress didn’t come to take our order until 45 minutes later. On top of that, once the food was brought, she never came back to check if we needed anything. When we finished eating and needed to pay, she never came by with the check. We had to get up and go to the register ourselves (we could have easily walked out without paying and they wouldn’t have even noticed). I wouldn’t go back again.
Santo Remedio has good drinks their homemade agua fresca is really tasty! The food was okay, and the place itself is nice, but it didn’t really have the vibe I was looking for.
Is this a restaurant or dance party? I couldn't hear my own thoughts with the music so LOUD. The staff was nice but took long to get what we asked for like twice and the restaurant wasn't even a 1/4 filled.. then we were given the wrong bill.. We just wanted to leave
Great drinks...Great service...great atmosphere...and that's where it stops...average food for way above average prices!!! $28 for a bowl of menudo!!! Not to mention 30 bucks for "fajitas" that were 80% veggies and did not come out sizzling like every other place...also beware of the Tequila cart they only serve the more expensive brands with no menu to price so its was a bit shocking when 2 shots cost 78 bucks...although it was a very smooth tasting tequila...Also the 3.5% dine in charge is absolutely outrageous and is the main reason I will never return and be sure to steer people away from this place...your over priced food isn't enough??? I guess should have know something was up when there was zero wait to be seated at 6pm on a Friday evening...
Went in for breakfast after seeing colorful signs outside. We had huevos rancheros and Chile Reynos. Portion were good, husband like Chile Reynos but said too much sauce. My rancheros were okay. Ask for over medium eggs but were overcooked. I like my beans on top of tortilla not under. Coffee de olla good. One thing we really did not like is that MUSIC was way too loud for Sunday Morning! Had to shout to be heard! A little on the pricey side but what isn't now a days. Waiter was nice. Probably won't go back any time soon.
Food presentation is nice, but some of their food items don't have much flavor. Mole was average, rice was good, beans and queso fresco were flavorless. Try the queso fresco *cheese* alone and it doesn't taste like anything at all. What's the point of adding so much of it to the food if it has no flavor at all. Music was super annoying loud. This place seems to be calling people who are more concerned on getting nice pictures of a fun time out and about versus getting a good tasting meal. Sadly, I went in with the expectation to get blown away with some authentic Mexican food. Maybe it was the dish alone we ordered or it could be the rest of the food is average. I should of listened to the reviews that mentioned the food being average. I do have to say the service and cleanliness of the restaurant was great. Our service was helpful and polite. There's plenty of parking and we got seated right away after we checked in.
Food was mediocre, I had the fish ceviche, it had way too much chopped veggies and not enough fish. Complementary chips and salsa were good, it comes with bits and pieces of chicharrones. Great art work! Atmosphere was ok, but at times the borrachas get annoyingly loud. May or may not visit again, depending on mood.
The place has a lot of potential. We ordered the breakfast molcajete and most everything was savory except the carne asada. The cafe de olla was also pretty good but not the best I’ve tasted (needs to be a little sweeter). The service needs immediate attention. The owner needs to spend less time at his other restaurant, Jardín Auténtica…, and more time over here training the waiters/waitresses. They are kind but severely lack experience and therefore struggle to provide the best service. Hope they work on that because always pulling for Mexican peeps to succeed. I’m 45 and still enjoy music, however the music over the speakers is too loud. Mariachi was definitely a hit. Pulling for the restaurant and good luck!
Great photo op. Food too awhile to be served (it was mothers day). But definitely VERY LOUD too loud! Cant hear your server. CLUB ATMOSPHERE, WHISTLES AND STROBE LIGHT and SHOTS SHOTS kind of ATMOSPHERE. Not a place for a family conversation. They had Mariachi band with beautiful music but the CLub music was too much.
Ambiance was a 5. Food was a 2 - from the chilaquiles to the pozole- not impressed. The chicken and waffles was the exception! Service was a 3 - our waiter happened to be one of the main “performers” so a couple times I needed to flag another waiter for help such as getting lime and salt. Music was good but too loud so I couldn’t hear the waiter when he took the wrong order for my son and got him chilaquiles instead of chicken and waffles. We eventually got that straightened out. I’m sure the drinks are great but disappointed that they didn’t offer a more extensive kids menu selection that included cheeseburgers which is our go-to. Overpriced for the service and the food taste.
Let's start with the aesthetics. This place is a whole vibe. The music is popin, the art is amazing, the restaurant itself looks absolutely beautiful. The service is great. This is a great place to host a party or have a dinner with friends. Food: they have taco Tuesday. Where the street tacos are two dollars each. The carne Asada tacos was a bit dry last time I came so I didn't get them this time and instead got chicken. They don't put onion and cilantro on the tacos. This blew my mind, because it's not an authentic Mexican taco without onion and cilantro. I had to request it. When I got my food it was Luke warm. I mean within 5 mins after we got our food it was cold. I'm not sure why the food wasn't hot. The rice looked like it was a day old and the beans were definitely not Pinto. Tasted more like navy white beans. The quesadilla was pretty ok. plain in flavor. Didn't have any Pico de gallo or real salas to go with it. Chips were also cold and very hard. Not to sure why. All and all for the aesthetics this place gets a 10/10, but for a food it's definitely ranging about a 3. The look of the place definitely bypasses the food they serve. Doesn't seem like this is an authentic Mexican restaurant. Seems more so like a white man created it. I would come here for a cheap restaurant style meal, but if your looking for a good authentic Mexican flavor this ain't it. It's more like the Applebees of Mexican food. I SAID WHAT I SAID!!!
Went here for my mother's birthday dinner there was 18 of us together. No one greeted dusk took them awhile to notice we were there. They were at the bar area talking when they finally came they told us we had to wait for the rest of of the party so now 20 minutes has went by and had to wait. The place empty so I am not sure why we had to wait. We finally were seated at our table and we order drinks alcohol and regular. The alcohol drinks took over 30 min even to get the beer so that not great the food came out all different time so that was not ideal as other had to wait to eat. We had to keep asking for the basic things like condiments and napkins chips and salsa and water. They service was really slow. The food was good and the atmosphere was great nice vibrate colors. The band was supposed to play at 7pm which did not happen so that was a waste we had to leave they didnt know what time they were going to perform. We left around 730 and still no live music. They really need to work on the service I feel since they are granted a 18% tip they lacked service. I dont like establishment that include a tip automatically it should earned and for this night and experience it was not earned. If I would know I would of paid cash and give them the tip I wanted. May try time place one more time before I write it off.
Whoever tells you that this restaurant is authentic Mexican and rancho style is delusional or from a non-latin country. Intrigued by a supposedly foodie in social media I came on and gave them a try. Spoiler alert, BIG FAIL!!! For a Mexican restaurant claiming authenticity and be playing nothing but Bad Bunny was the first sign, I should have walked out then. But, in the interest of fairness I stayed to try the food. Then the next problem reared it's ugly head - SERVICE! Service was mediocre at best everyone working there didn't seem interested in focusing on the needs of their customers. The FOOD, it was FAR from authentic, it was more of a Mexican fusion with i don't know what. Don't let the pictures deceive you. The morale is NEVER trust your local influencer! Gut feeling would have served me better in this case.
Service was poor and food quality was just okay. The service was poor and needs major improvement, the place was not busy and lacked customer service. I didn’t receive drinks until I waived down the server. Then it was difficult and nearly impossible to get refills. Food came out quickly once ordered. I wanted another drink however was never asked if I could use another drink and never saw my server again. My experience was expensive & lacked simple customer service.
The place is more on the trendy side and caters to the Instagram crowd. I say this because of the typical decor with neon lights, walls covered with bright colors and foliage, doesn't feel very authentic Mexican. The service is ok, not anything special. The food and prices is where this place really tanks. The food is more for the Americanized palette, our food wasn't seasoned or tasty, salsas need work and taste store-bought. For what you get, prices are too high and not worth it. I'm from Mexico City so I know what authentic Mexican food is. Would not recommend or come back again.
This place is blah... my $20.00 chorizo and eggs was less than expected... overcooked, dry, poor presentation. Too many other great Mexican restaurants to eat at in Orange. With better food, drinks and service as well as perceived value. The trumpet overwhelmed in the mariachi band silenced the guitars and singers. Maybe consider dropping the horns with such low ceilings. Service was not there except take an order different person delivered the food, ZERO followup for margaritas or drinks... dropped check and split. Wow!! Probably never go back.
We had a party of 8 first off without even mentioning to us or anything there was an automatic 20% down which added $100 too the absolute worst service. I simply got water and our server came and asked us maybe once if we needed more water. Drinks are absolutely wayyyy over priced. Like how are you able to charge so much for something that is honestly terrible. I do not recommend going for a big party. They ignore cause they know they will get 20% no matter what. Ruthless.
Unfortunately.. I would have to pass on this restaurant in the future. The restaurant was empty when we arrived & we were quickly seated but the rest of our visit deterioratd from there. Service was slow or missing altogether to the point we had to go find someone to request service. We were given the wrong menus, we didn't get chips unless we asked for them and due to the delays in service we did not get our food until over an hour later. Then in less than 20 minutes they started asking if they could clear our plates... while half the table was still eating. I felt rushed to leave since the restaurant was getting busy. The food presentation was excellent but the flavor was bland, portions were small and the whole menu was overpriced - from $6 for coffee to meal prices ranging up to $150. Overall I felt the restaurant staff was unorganized & menu was overpriced.
**INSTAGRAM MADE ME GO*** 😁🤘🏻Ok so this place ain't it... Aesthetic of the restaurant is beautiful but why do people go to restaurants for?... To eat! Seems like they put more effort in the look of the place then their food. We ordered a chilaquiles plate with carne asada.. chilaquiles were cold, the salsa of the chilaquiles taste like canned chipotle sauce and maybe they added a few other spices to make it their own. The carne asada was cold, flavor SALT . the rice taste like that bagged rice you buy at Cardenas. The eggs were runnyyy I couldn't catchem' and the beans were definitely canned beans they mashed up or they just don't have "sason". So basically the food was mediocre for a high price. THIS PLACE GETS ⭐⭐ our waiter was nice though and so was the customer service so that gets a ⭐⭐⭐⭐
A restaurant that all it is a one time place the first thing when you walked in is the mini bar lounge no hard licor license only wine and beer agave mix for margaritas no way .The service was bad waiting time for drinks and appetizers to long . When the food came in it was ok bean not got salsa not for chips more for your food the green salsa on the tacos and flautas better. over price enchiladas ($24.00) the Guacamole ok mexican rice ok . Over all food ok just over price and not a good service for $ 100.00 for mexican food
My friend recommended this place and I was eager to try it, but left very disappointed. Service was slow. The music was extremely loud and did not permit pleasant conversations. We ordered the chicharon with guacamole. Super overpriced for what we got. Not even home made corn tortillas. Just some lukewarm store bought tortillas. The guac was decent, some of the chicharones were a little off. The salsa and chips they gave us were very good. One of the best salsas I've had in a while. It was off putting when they brought my diet coke in a can.....no chance of refills unless I wanted to pay for another can. The soda can didn't quite go with the vibe of the menus which were on the higher end. When they brought the guac and chicharones they didn't bring any small plates or napkins. We had nothing to place our individual servings. We had to ask for napkins. We asked multiple times for them to turn down the music to no avail. We left without ordering a meal because the noise level was overbearing. My friend had a headache when we left. Good place if you like loud music and don't plan on talking to anyone.
Tic Tok promo is a lie... I watched this great video about live music and incredible food. The music was recorded, and the place was empty. The beans were cold, and this place is incredibly overpriced. We went on a taco Tuesday and you could almost hear crickets over the music. $20 with buy you 3 street tacos... Yea... $20... for a two bite taco... What's even more disturbing is not one taco was worth finishing. This place gets an unexpected 1 Fork Up and that was because the service was okay for an empty restaurant...
It was our first time and we were very curious about this place and it’s food. The quality of the food is not the greatest for the price you pay $$ , the fajitas we got just felt like beef stew with veggies, very soggy and not tasty, it doesn’t come with guacamole or sour cream on the side. The loud music doesn’t allow you to have conversations and made it difficult to communicate to the waitresses. On top of that, my daughter found out through a yelp review that they make you pay 3.5% just for dining in, that was never made aware of by the restaurant. We won’t be coming back.
The front desk was unattended, waited 5 minutes to be seated and that was because one of the workers passed by and noticed me. The restaurant is nice and clean, food is overpriced, rice was not properly cooked, service is slow and might need proper training to be attentive to customers. Server was friendly.
Well it was a party of 25 and they don't know how to split the bill. We had a couple who payed 140 and they another 6 people only payed 150. They were still telling us we have to pay 282. So we asked them what did the other people pay on their food and they couldn't answer us. Place is no good when it becomes to service. Bad service all around.
It's a shame that we came here as a special dinner. This place is overpriced for what they deliver. Do not believe Tik Tok promos. I had made a reservation a week ago, yet we were placed in the very back of the restaurant. The beans were cold, the pasta was sauce was salty. They tried charging me extra for a margarita that was listed at a different price on the menu. This place did have live entertainment, however, we could not hear the performer as there was a gentleman walking around with a cart full of booze constantly blowing a whistle. It got to a point where he was blowing a whistle just for fun and trying to sync with the same song as the performer. Very obnoxious for a restaurant that's attempting to be "upscale". I literally left with a headache.
Mariachi's were Great! Service: waiter totally forgot to place an order from one of Us 7 in our party. When her plate got there, it looked like they rushed the order, burning her flattened, pancakes. All the food we order was horrible, terrible tasting... I don't know if the cooks even knew what real , authentic Mexican Food is to taste like, The only thing that we could eat was the guacamole and chips. First time and last time there... Our drive out from the IE was such a waste of time.
TikTok and instagram hyped this place up so I decided to make reservations for my husbands 30th birthday. I should have known when we showed up for our reservation at 8 and the restaurant was practically empty. They took nearly 20 mins to set up our table and get us seated. I brought a cake and asked if the restaurant could cut it for us and we were told no outside food or drinks allowed in the restaurant. I kindly explained that this was a special occasion and asked if they could make an exception or if I could pay a cake cutting fee and was told my only option was for them to store the cake in the fridge in the kitchen. I didn’t want to make a big deal so I said fine, but I’ve never heard of a restaurant refusing to cut a cake even for a fee. After we ordered our appetizers and drinks I asked the girl who took the cake if we could have it back because it needed to sit out for at least an hour before we could cut it at home and she told me no, I would have to wait until we left the restaurant to have my cake back. I was fuming but again, didn’t want to make a big deal because it’s my husbands day. Service was minimal and slow, food was outrageously priced, nothing on the menu is under $25 and portions are skippy for the price. Drinks are crazy expensive, my MIL ordered a piña colada and it came in a small glass and was $20. The flavor of the food was decent but not at the level I would expect for the price. For 7 of us with one drink each, our meal and two appetizers, our bill was $700 with mandatory 20% gratuity, just ridiculous. Save yourself the money and the frustration and STAY AWAY! Oh but we did get a few suckers for dessert… for $700 they couldn’t even be bothered to bring my husband a little dessert for his birthday.
Service was not great at all. My drinks were not served at the adequate time. I waited too too long. My meal was served late as well. There was a DJ playing at the restaurant, by the way, awesome music. And people were dancing. So my group went to dance as well. We had so much fun. Even the waiter went to dance with us. At the of our meal, I spoke with the manager to ask for a discount because I was not happy with my service. She had the adorcity to blame me for my meal to be served late. I tried to be calm and nice but she persisted it was not their fault and that they had to throw away two plates because of me. Plus she said dancing was not allowed at their restaurant. If it was not allowed there should be a sign or should be announced to their customers. Its too bad I had this awful experience. I will never come here again nor my group of 14 friends. This restaurant lost a large group of customers. One thing I know, if you want to run a restaurant, please never blame your customers for your mistakes. All I wanted was my water, diet coke, and my lunch. Again. Not coming here. Poor management service.
The food doesn't have a flavor e Ur food we order i don't think is a Mexican food but the place is only for drunk people no good food 🤮
First time here. We went in and sat down at 12:24pm on 8/25/24. Waiter brought us some chips & salsa and we ordered drinks. Waiter came about 5 min later and asked if we were ready to eat. He gave us another 5 min & we ordered. I myself got Camarones Al Mojo de Ajo, my husband got Menudo and my stepdaughter ordered Tacos. We were enjoying the Mariachi and noticed that some time had already passed & still no food. Asked waiter he said that it was going to be around another 20 min. There was a party of 8 next to us who got seated about 10 min after us and they had already been served! I askked the waiter again about our food he said he would check on it. Still nothing. A WHOLE HOUR AND 20 Min had passed up and they barely brought out food to us. We were upset. Asked to talk to the manager and wanted to get some type of comp he said they couldn’t do that being that our diid had already been served. We ate and left. Time of order was 12:28 pm and we paid our total tab due of $147.46 at 2:04 pm. What would some of you done? I don’t recommend this place at all. Their service sucked!
We had a gathering of cousins to celebrate a birthday. The service is horrible 😫 😑 the worst service I've had in many years, starting at the bar when I first arrived we wanted to order a drink and the bartender said that we had to be at the table to order a drink. Then we got to our table, and the waitress took forever just to bring water. My whole experience at this place was very, very bad!!! all employees are really rude, not pleasant at all. One of my cousins got her plate right when we're about to leave. I personally don't recommend this restaurant 😕 at all!!! Overall, bad bad👎 👎 service..
Definitely would not recommend due to horrible customer service and unconfirmed business hours. I came to celebrate my mother’s 45th birthday and made sure to call twice today to confirm if we needed reservations and todays hours/specials & called a second time to confirm closing is at 11pm, which they confirmed. I showed up at about 9:45pm and given there was barely any customers we requested a table since we had guests meet us there for dinner. As I was waiting for a host it seemed that all the waitresses were sitting and talking, cooks cleaning the kitchen, and the host mopping, all one hour before closing with customers there. Once I noticed all of this going on and by now it’s been 5 mins of watching the host and waitress talk about whether to seat us or not…. And still waited. They didn’t have the courtesy to let us know whether or not they would seat us or if the kitchen was closed. Once we walked out to our car, already ready to leave, they want to ask how many guests but just seems like they asked to save face. At this point Im just glad I had a back up restaurant. We came to Kalaveras, had plenty of parking, and actually stay open to 11pm as stated online. If you’d still like to come just be sure to call and ask if they’re deciding to stay open, I guess. 0/10 experience and it was our first time for a birthday. 👎🏼
Arrived and seated and waited for 5 minutes before we decided to walk out. Not one person approached us to take our drink orders or anything. Severs were not friendly at all. "Manager" was sarcastic throughout the whole interaction. Would not recommend this place at all unless you have a deep wallet and don't mind bad service. ZERO STARS!
Terrible service. Missed my Wife's meal completely then brought out a cold one. Dude with the whistle was thoroughly annoying. Overpriced drinks and food
If I could give this establishment 0 stars, I would. We made reservations to celebrate a birthday at 7:30. We were not acknowledged until we waved a server down. The manager had to take our order. We finally had water and drinks after 45 minutes of waiting. 9:03 came around and two of our 5 dishes were brought out. These two dishes were cocktail shrimp and ceviche. The fact that it took two hours to bring two cold dishes out is ridiculous. We asked our server for an ETA for the rest of our food and he said it was on its way. We had been told this half an hour ago. There were several tables around us that had also been there for over an hour and did not have any food/drinks. The restaurant booked every table knowing they were not capable of tending to half the people that were already there. We decided to close out our tab and leave to a better restaurant. We let our server know we wanted to close out our tab, he asked us to talk to the manager before closing out. So we were now assigned to track management on top of all of this. When we found the manager, she presented us with the bill. There was no discount offered for such a terrible experience. She said all she could do was offer a small cake to rectify the situation. I could not believe what I was hearing. After going back and forth with her she offered a small discount. We will never be coming back to this establishment. They have poor management, their service is slow, their drinks are mediocre and their food is over priced. Management and ownership should be utterly ashamed of the type of business they're running. Oh yeah and also beware, they sneak in a service fee on top of your already overpriced bill. This was the worst dinning experience our group has had. You couldn't pay me to come back to this "restaurant ".
food looks great but i tried to make a reservation for 6 people and they told me in order to make a reservation it was $10. a person. In order to make my reservation i would have to pay them upfront $60.00. Like i said food looks good but paying more to reserve a table, no food is worth that. good luck!
When we arrived, we were seated quickly the restaurant was pretty much empty. We had to ask the bussboy for service because we were unattended for a long while. Servers passed by multiple times but we were avoided. When the server finally came I politely asked if I could have a closer seat to the stage where the mariachi would be playing. There was plenty of open seating area, but when I asked for a different table they said no. The whole center of the restaurant was empty. The server was annoyed I asked. The drinks were way too expensive to not be able to taste the alcohol. I don't mind paying twenty dollars for a drink if it's good but here they are $26 for a drink "the Catarina" all I could taste was lime juice, soda and tejin. I thought that for $26, I was getting the cup as souvenir 😂 The audacity..... I mean if we're being honest, the place is pretty rundown they are not the "RED O". Those prices are not justified There was no toilet paper in the stall😅 I had to ask my neighbor for some🤣. The mariachi is uninterested, disengaged and looks bored 🥱 for top tier mariachi go to el Casa del Sol Cocina Mexicana in tustin that's quality mariachi. Anyways we won't be back we only went to santo remedio because "Jardin Restaurant" was full, But this place was a disappointment you're way better off going to Kalaveras that's not to far from here and the food and drinks never disappoint.
Went on a Saturday afternoon, it was basically empty. Food and drinks were ok, but over priced. Service was bad. It was basically just us and the waiters took a long time to attend us. Waiters didn't want to split 5 checks, pretty sure due to the 20% tip which was 120$. First and last time we go there 🙄
This place is run by people who don't know what they're doing and lack of people skills. They weren't allowed to split the bill of a party of 20+ so good luck to us trying to figure it all out. But to their convenience the bill can be split suddenly when adding extra charges. Not to mention, they tried to charge an item twice by taking advantage of my party that left early due to a medical emergency. To make matters worse, the food quality, quantity, and presentation doest not reflect the price. This place is in an overpriced knockoff version or Kalaveras. I'm mad at myself for not checking the reviews before coming. The 3.8 makes a lot of sense now.
