Trattoria del Porto offers a pleasant Italian dining experience with fresh pasta and flavorful sauces. Chef Amrutha and servers like Juan L. and Ty Ty receive high praise. Some reviewers found the pasta overcooked or the buffet overpriced, but many recommend it, especially for breakfast.
Tip: Visit Ty Ty at the bar for great service and cocktails. Consider taking the boat from City Walk to avoid parking issues.
Chef Michael went above and beyond with a fantastic dinner for the four of us everybody was delicious and we each had something different. I highly recommend the pesto flatbread starter because it was a delightful and flavorful appetizer. We had the shrimp alfredo, avocado mushroom ravioli and the four cheese tortellini. And we had an amazing chocolate dessert that we shared between the four of us. So great! Juan. Our server was delightful! The view of the harbor made the whole night! I reccomend eating at Trattoria del Porto
Rene was wonderful!! He was polite, attentive without repeatedly interrupting our conversation. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was the perfect mix of a little bit casual and a little bit dressy. It really immersed us in the classic Italian feel.
Food and service were amazing. They made us feel welcome and answered all of my dietary restriction questions. Highly highly recommend this restaurant especially if you need to be gluten free. Update - we went every morning of our 3 day business trip for breakfast because they were so amazing. I cannot say enough positive things about our server, Donnel, and the rest of their team. Donnel made sure my food was safe and the chef was able to customize just about anything to make it gluten free. Beyond their attention to my dietary restrictions they were kind, prompt, and personable. The service here far outshined the service at any other restaurant we visited during our stay
Dining at Mama Dels as their temporary home while under renovation. Beautiful surroundings. Extensive buffet including several vegetarian options. Quiet, efficient service. Both buffet or custom order option such omelets. #breakfast #omelets #buffet #mamadel #vacation Renovations are completed. Beautiful reception area. Some of the seating will not be comfortable for all body sizes. We did have to ask to change tables. We arrived just after breakfast as Lunch was starting. The restaurant was essentially empty, but we had to wait for them to set up our table. Service was noth attentive and slow at the same time. Ths burger and fries were excellent. Wish I had gone for the veggie burger. The shrimp Alfredo was average. the shrimp was over cooked and tough. The pasta was slightly under cooked and tough. Just a bit disappointed after the spectacular breakfast. #lunch #Service #tough #ada #plus size
Great meal and dining experience. Bread and oil to start and then solid options for appetizers, salads, and entrees. I’ll be back here for sure. Reservations made dining easy. Worth the venture to the resort even if not staying here.
This restaurant has a cozy Italian decor which gives it a pleasant atmosphere. I ordered a limoncello Margarita and the Fettuccine Alfredo pasta with chicken. This was one of the most exquisite Fettuccine pasta dishes that I’ve had. The pasta is hand made and the Alfredo sauce is home made which has a creamy taste with just the perfect flavor. 10/10 recommend if you’re a Fettuccine pasta aficionado 🙂
Did the Orlando magical dinning and the food was fabulous! Was able to get gluten free tortellini😀
The refresh of this classic has born fruit – ignore all the reviews that are not from recently and go directly to see Ty Ty at the bar. His service and recommendations are unbeatable – and do not miss the Cucina make your own pasta bar for all you care to eat goodness for just $35 for dinner. Truly, the best surprise of our universal hotel stay. Don’t miss it.
We came for the evening menu, which only runs Thu to Sat. Based on the footfall in the restaurant, I can see why they limit the dinner running hours. It's high-quality food with good service. The buffet is limited to salad and build-your-own pasta dish. $30 is somewhat steep for the offering, but it includes a soft drink and decent quality raw ingredients. The chef then builds and cooks your dish in front of you. What let us down was not being told about, or offered, the free pass holder cannoli.
This place serves a great breakfast. It is standard resort pricing $25 for adults and $12 for kids. Great selection of food that has choices for vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and healthy options. There is fresh fruit, omelets made to order, pastries, oatmeal etc. The service was great. It can get pretty crowded especially if it rains. Breakfast here is a great way to start the day. Dinner and other meals are served here too. They are perfectly edible but not particularly wonderful, mostly based on pasta though there are salad and fish choices.
After 4 days of sharing the Universal Orlando experience with our daughter, son-in-law and grandkids, we welcomed a full service breakfast at Trattoria del Porto in the Portofino Resort . Calvin is a terrific host as well as server. His plate recommendations and guidance proved out in the breakfasts we enjoyed. A true professional.
Had a wonderful time dining here after a long day at the theme park. We opted for the buffet and the food was fantastic. Freshly made pasta by Chef Amrutha was outstanding. Will definitely come back again!!

Stopped in for breakfast before hitting the parks. Everyone had the buffet. Everything was super fresh, tasty and well presented. Wide variety of food from hot and cold cereals, fruits and veggies, pancakes and waffles, breakfast meats, pastries and an omelette station. Really not much more you could ask for... Staff was super pleasant and attentive.
The other night we ate here and it was great! I had the beef burger and it was pretty good. Our waiter was amazing, on his name tag I think it said Eric but on the receipt it said Alvaro. Anyways he was great! The rest of the staff was also very nice. Would recommend
Breakfast today was beyond amazing. Our servers were friendly and attentive. Our food was so very delicious. Special shoutout to Donnell for his great service and offering to take a photo of us in front of the beautiful tree in the center of the villa.
We enjoyed the upscale ambience and cuisine that was still family-friendly as well. Chef José positively spoiled my wife with unique creations to accommodate her food allergies. Many thanks for working your “magic”! 🙏🏼💯
The best Italian I’ve ever had. The servers are very friendly and attentive whilst the food is delicious. You can make your own pasta dish which will be cooked by a professional chef allowing you to pick and mix between various pastas toppings and sauces. Of course there is also enough for 2nds or 3rds although the portions are quite large. Definitely children friendly .
Excellent restaurant worth trying with decent prices. Chef Jordan was great and the custom made pastas were breathtaking. The staff and waiters were friendly and extremely professional and polite. Highly recommend this place. Excellent for families
Went here for breakfast while staying at Portafino. Attentive staff and the buffet had a wide variety. The gentleman working the omelette station was wonderful and the omelette was very tasty. We had free breakfast for an issue from the hotel so I'm not sure if I'd pay the $25 that it normally costs but that's mostly because I dont normally eat breakfast.
Ate here for Christmas buffet and it was one of the best food experiences I had. Food was delicious, waiters courteous and helpful, and even as my family enjoyed the king crabs I was able to find satisfying vegan options. Would recommend
Great breakfast buffet, the omelet station was awesome. Juan was a great and attentive server. Favorite part of the buffet was the Zucchini bread, AMAZING!
Very seldom do you eat at a restaurant where the food can be described as perfect. Always room for improvement, right? NOT THIS TIME. The food was phenomenal. If you are the type that is not easily impressed, Trattoria Del Porto is an experience you won't soon forget.
This is an excellent restaurant, it has anspecial menu fridays and saturdays. “Pasta Cucina” pasta made in the moment with great chefs, like Chef Akash, he prepared the most wonderful pasta. If you are in The Portofino Resort, ask for Akash, youll hace an spectacular dinner.
Sheryl went above and beyond with our service, but I got the feeling that is her baseline. Great experience all around.
An excellent restaurant with food, service and place. We will definitely be back! congratulations to the whole team for the great service offered to customers I love pasta cucina
Thanksgiving day feast! Amazing variety and great foods. Many meats cooked to perfection. Sinful desserts. Caring and efficient service by Angie and Francisco.
Tyler took care of my wife and I. His service was exemplary and I hope he is here next time we come back. Amazing overall experience!!!
Great breakfast buffet, standard pricing for a resort, about $50 including tip for two adults but definitely was delicious and I dream about their breakfast potatoes.
Fantastic breakfast buffet with a wide variety of choice. It opens at 7 giving you enough time to eat and catch the ferry for early park admission.
Pizza equal to the best NY Pizza you can find. Sauce is fresh. Take the boat from City Walk to eat there. Wonderful atmosphere. Best Pizza in Orlando theme parks. Better than anything Disney can serve up.
Had such an excellent buffet breakfast here this morning. Staff were amazing, food was superb. Well done team!
I have no idea what the people who rated this establishment lower are talking about. The service, food, atmosphere and general ambiance were exceptional. After dining in some of the higher end resort hotels in Disney this Universal treat beats them hands down. Even with the construction maze one has to navigate that may detract a bit one must remember it is not the fault of the restaurant and they more than make up for this slight inconvenience by their service.
Made the journey to this restaurant from a different hotel specifically for the buffet breakfast because we've had it once before and couldn't wait to do it again. Everything was even better than the first time. From the kind and warm welcome when we walked in the door, to the excellent table service from Juan, to the kindness and attentiveness from all the other team members there, it could not have been more pleasant. Oh and lest I forget the food. Absolutely tasty, very filling and very well presented. Please go try them out if you're in the area. You won't be disappointed.
Dined for the Christmas 2023 buffet this week. Great experience. Service was so friendly and the staff warm/accommodating. The food was excellent. Such a high quality buffet with fresh tasting/superb food. Loved the roast turkey/Prime Rib and dressing. Other highlights included a risotto station/fresh shrimp (with a fine tangy lemon tartar sauce), bean soup, antipasto salad and a very delicious beef marsala My favorite was the most simple, thin slices of bread toasted with crunchy cheese on top. One of the best Christmas buffets I've tried with my family. We are not far in Tampa and we'll be back to enjoy the great food and wonderful staff of he Portofino Hotel!
I am a local and I was there for Mother’s Day they had their incredible everyday breakfast buffet, a special Mother’s Day Menu and a la carte. Francisco, was incredible. There was a point the gravy was out. Instead of having me wait to be replaced. It was brought to my table with some biscuits. The whole extremely team friendly and helpful!
Although the restaurant is closed for renovations, we had the Christmas Day buffet. It was a lovely experience. There was a diverse selection of items on the buffet (more than we could try) and everything we tried was delicious. A saxophonist provided the music, and it set a relaxed atmosphere. Thank you for a great experience!!!
We had breakfast here twice during our stay, with a party of around 10ppl both times, and pretty mixed orders of off-menu and buffet. The breakfast sandwich was by far the favorite of the group, it's so good, and definitely worth a try. The star of the show was definitely the service on day 2, with easily the best hospitality we encountered during our stay provided by Bryan H. He was super attentive, friendly, and anticipated the needs of each person at the table. He's a rockstar!
This place has got to be hands down the best choice for Italian food around Loews Portofino Bay. Our entire family has come here every single day we were on vacation, and every single day we left happy, content, and overall very satisfied. The servers are very attentive, and will regularly check up on you multiple times throughout the night to make sure that you like the food. Their breakfast menu offers a lot to choose from and some items can even be customized to your heart's content. The dinner menu is quite extensive, with many options to chose from and even more options with the wine menu. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough, and is a must try for anyone staying at this hotel!
We were lucky enough to be here on a night when they had the pasta buffet available. Highly recommended! You can really make your perfect dish, they have an amazing assortment of toppings and sauces to choose from. The atmosphere is calming and has a lovely view of the waterfront. Will definitely be back here again!
Clean modern atmosphere with excellent fresh tasting dishes. The service was attentive and friendly. The salads were well presented and fresh.
Went here today after a long day at the parks. I had a wonderful experience. I went in and the staff was welcoming and very attentive. Jordan (the chef for the pasta bar) made my noodles amazing. Sheryl , our serve, was amazing and very attentive. Definitely will be returning back 👍😊
I want to recognize our server, Sheryl (from Cape Cod, MA). She took the experience to a different level. The food choices combined with her recommendations ensured our time at Trattoria del Porto was delightful. In our small talk, I briefly mentioned that we were celebrating my girlfriend’s birthday, and without us asking, brought out delicious cannoli for dessert and we all sang happy birthday together. Very good attention to detail. Thank you Sheryl for making our night unforgettable. To the management @Tratoria del Porto, please consider this a guest positive for Sheryl and let her know what we think.
We had a wonderful experience multiple times with Donnell from the Philippines as our waiter. We would go back again and again especially with service like Donells. He was kind, as quick as possible and knowledgeable about the menus. The food was great every time we went and the breakfast buffet (although extremely expensive) is very worth it if you are very hungry and if not the omelettes are amazing. The woman at the omelette bar in the chefs coat was also amazing. Donell is the prime example of how a server/waiter should be! Thank you!
Their brunch buffet was so delicious! Full of fruits, pastries, and savory items for every appetite. Very vegetarian friendly and was exquisite. I ate at 11am and was full the whole day. Highly recommend the breakfast buffet - very worth the $26 for an adult (I ate 4 dishes)
Breakfast at the Trattoria Del Porto is a staple for us every time we visit Orlando. The food is always delicious, and they make the best pastries ever! The staff is always friendly and attentive, the ambiance is beautiful, and the facilities are always very clean. We can’t wait to come back soon!
I went with my family to dine at Trattoria at Loews Portofino Bay Hotel and had a wonderful experience. My server Sheryl was very personable and attentive. Our cooks, Jordan and Sagar cooked our food to perfection. I highly recommend ordering the pasta bar. My food was made to order and delicious. Kuddos to Sheryl, Jordan and Sagar for their wonderful service. The manager Manny was very kind and personable. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Juan L. Was the best server we’ve ever had. He was so welcoming and made every opportunity to make sure we had a quality meal for dinner. He was so kind and thoughtful, and conversation flowed very easily! Anyone who gets to meet Juan L. Is in for a wonderful experience at Trattoria! Francisco helped us with breakfast and he was so kind as well. He moved quickly and made sure all of our needs were met! Trattoria has a wonderful team on their hands and our stay at Portofino bay wouldn’t have been the same without them.
Came for Xmas buffet From the valet Parker’s to the greeters awesome Met with a glass of champagne at restaurant door Beautiful table Our servers pedro and Calvin where exceptional Superb food lots of choices all excellent The chefs and hostess at the buffet could not have been more accommodating Calvin is a consummate proffesional we thoroughly enjoyed the food and atentative service Highly recommended
Strolled in at 12:30p. Happy to see a bar open. Gentleman named Ty Ty is running the whole place by himself, and making killer cocktails. Just a boat ride over from citywalk, or they will validate parking for Portofino. Quiet afternoons. Can imagine it gets busy at night. Very slept on bar on Universal property. We each had two different signature cocktails, and all four were fantastic. Would definitely recommend the bar to anyone who wants a quality cocktail.
We came here 18th October and had one of the best meals in our two week vacation. We both had pasta dishes which were cooked fresh, the pasta was beautifully done and the meatballs were lovely and full of flavour, as was the sauce. The cocktails were great too, not overly sweet which we appreciated. There was an issue with an alarm going off but other than that we loved the whole experience. There was also an Italian singer next door at Mama Della’s who was quite loud but it was much more palatable from our side of the restaurant, wouldn’t want to have been sitting in there though!
Just been here tonight for a meal and have to say it was fantastic, from excellent food and atmosphere to the great service from Marianna. Thank you for giving our date night that extra special touch. Loved it and highly recommend

Great place for breakfast. We ate here most of the week for breakfast during our stay. Bryan was awesome and always accommodating for some specific requests. I cannot give five stars because the price seems so steep and we did have a small piece of shell on our scrambled eggs from the buffet once. It happens but still recommend it.
Despite the mixed reviews I've noticed on here, I had a very good experience. I did the breakfast buffet and was actually surprised at the selection of food offered from something small and light to more heavier breakfast options. Everything I had was delicious, from the scrambled eggs, the smoked salmon, bacon sausage, homemade yogurts, etc. I did think it was a little pricey but think about the location and the ambiance is a little foofoo, so I guess that justifies the cost? In any case, there was plenty of seating, the staff was super friendly and attentive, and the staff working the different food stations were also quick and attentive. When I'm back here, i'll definitely give lunch or dinner a try.
Solid spot. Wish the opera singers had come out earlier
We had the breakfast buffet and it was good. They had an omlet station and offered all the breakfast staples, juices and other drinks. Even though it was pricey, it was one of only a few places to choose from.
Pasta Cucina (pasta bar) is pretty good. You can pick all the ingredients you want and have them make the pasta for you. Pesto, marinara, Alfredo... All good flavor and good quality. Service was very good.
Went for the breakfast buffet which was nice! A lot of typical foods, nothing too exciting. Fresh fruit selection was good. It has something for everyone and the service was great!
6:30 pm reservation made through the Loews Portafino Bay Hotel provided link online, but the system didn’t recognize us when we arrived. The issue was cleared quickly and we were seated. Breads were unique, warm, and delicious, shrimp Alfredo was done perfectly, as was the salmon; a crisp sear crust and very tender inside. Everyone had good things to say about their meals. My negatives would be that the atmosphere gave off a little bit of a cold feel and service on pasta and salmon could have been quicker in a nearly empty dining area. Overall a good experience. Dinner for five ran $200 (includes two mixed drinks) including tip.
We have stayed at the Portofino several times & breakfast was included in our booking (through Amex). The buffet has a decent selection of food. Plus they have an omelette station. A waiter brings you drinks (juice & coffee -but not espresso drinks-are included). The waiter will also bring gluten free pancakes or gluten free toast made to order. While the service has always been great, I can’t say I would eat here if it wasn’t included in our booking. $32 per person plus tax & tip is a lot for breakfast. My husband has sampled various pastries & said they are just ok & not super fresh.
Visited this place during our stay at Portofino’s. The place has an Italian vibe to it. Being vegetarian, we ordered black bean and quinoa burger and Caprese flatbread. The food tasted very good but it took awfully long to get served given there were only 3 more families sitting there. Our server wasn’t very helpful in recommending the vegetarian options or refilling the drinks. The menu also doesn’t clearly say about the side items that will be served with burger. Since we weren’t sure what the entrees come with and it was the first time us visiting this place, we ordered safe. The experience wasn’t that good for us to return to this place during busy hours of breakfast or brunch.
After eating there for a second time I’m changing my review from 5 to 4 stars. Pasta dishes were way overcooked this time. Far from „al dente“. The spaghetti were more like dough. Service was great again. Outside dinning very nice! Would still recommend.

The food was excellent. I was very impressed by the flavor. However, I was very hungry when I came here for breakfast and I order the waffles. Keep in mind the menu did say waffles not waffle. I was expecting to get a large meal for 14 dollars. Instead, I was greeted with a singular waffle. One waffle for 14 dollars. I would understand if they had advertised it as one waffle. Everything would be fine then. But I left hungry because of false advertising.
This place is over rated, service was appalling where the waitress forgot our starter, forgot the soda refill she offered and was generally conspicuous by her absence. For the extortionout bill at the end this was a first and last visit.
The service here was amazing every day we went greeted by the always smiling Rebecca, who was on front of house escorting us to our table making small talk on the way. We would always have a server pouring our fresh brewed coffee, orange and apple juice. One of my friends who accompanied me on our little American Trip is gluten free. She told me that the pastries lacked for gluten free options, as there was only muffins but she also said there wasn't any signs stating anything else was gluten free. There was a large selection of fruit, three options of melon, a make your own omelette bar, pancakes and waffles what more can you ask for.
Everything you want to start your day. Great service, coffee selection (especially omelets) orange juice, sausage and gravy, bacon... And dog friendly patio dining if you brought your best friend along. After a great first experience ,I'm sorry to say,the second morning we ate here was not a good experience. even though we ate at 7:00 AM,almost everything at the buffet was cold. Bacon, sausage, biscuits, sausage gravy (also the consistency of milk) were all cold. I gave up and had a couple of omelets instead.
We are staying the weekend on the beautiful portifino bay hotel. Our first time staying on property having been passholders for years. Being local we never saw the need but wanted to do a nice staycation. Originally wanted to goto mamma dellas, however we were too early so we had to settle for here. The hostess was lovely and seated us quickly, and thats when the service quality stopped. After a significant wait we were brought water and greeted by our server. A polite gentleman but turned out to be very unattentive. Because the long wait too be seen we had already decided our meals. (Which was easy with the very limited menu) which typically can be a good thing. Small menu means they should be good at the few items they do make... After we ordered, we only saw our server one addtional time until time to pay and leave. The wife ordered the steak frites, and i ordered the chicken alfredo. The alfredo was a below avg dish. The noodles seemed to be house prepared, rhey just were very undercooked. Well before al dente and well before youd finish to let the sauce continue cooking. The sauce was creamy and buttery and the best part about the dish. The chicken was a small chicken breast cooked until all the moisture was gone. Thankfully the sauce was able to wet it enough to make it edible. The wifes steak and frites were ok. The steak was cooked to temp, but very flavorless. Thr fries appeared to be unsalted, but we made due using my alfredo sauce as a dip. It came with a small salad with vinergertte. Or at least its suppose to have vinergertte there was hardly any on it, so the one time our server came to us after we ordered my wife asked for some addtional on the side and we never saw him again until pay time. I had a glass of wine with my meal and the wife a mixed drink. She didnt care for the drink, but finished it and was going to switch to wine with me. I was also going to order a second glass but again the server never returned. We also started with a tomato soup and each of us enjoyed it, though it was very watery. At least it was piping hot. The runner who brought the soup and the food was pleasant. If I didnt track down our server we'd still be there waiting for a check to pay and leave. Hopefully we have better luck the rest of the weekend at the other restaurants. I know this isnt a hotel review but id like to add how lovely the valet staff, and lobby staff were with such a warm greeting to the resort.
Well, I really wanted to love the lunch especially since its not as busy as the parks...but I will not eat here again. The server was fantastic but the food was an absolute no go, make the extra line and go to the park or the deli next door for really good pizza and subs

We came here for Sunday brunch and bottomless mimosas, which noted to end at 12:00pm. We sat down at 11:20 and our waiter said the bottomless mimosas were no longer available per their manager. We chose to go elsewhere because being constant visitors of Loews properties in Orlando, this was a first. As we were leaving, they had the nerve to charge us for one mimosa with “two on the house.” We weren’t even staying. Needless to say, don’t waste your time coming here and go to The Kitchen at the Hard Rock.
Sub-par at best. Half the food was cold, the scrambled eggs were grainy and gross. My sister got a glass that had the last customers lipstick on it. The service repeatedly ignored me. Overall disappointing and would not recommend. The only reason we ate here was the weather was too bad to actually go somewhere decent.
Too understaffed to execute. Excellent concept for family dining, however, our server was working tables on the inside and outside of the restaurant. Condiments were not refilled in a timely manner.
I'm on vacation and went yesterday, Wednesday, August 20th, around 10 a.m., and I was definitely not satisfied with this restaurant. There was a bad smell coming from the omelet station, and when I went to order my omelets for my kids and me, the lady had a completely dirty station and her service was unpleasant. I would have preferred to visit another place for my breakfast
We ate breakfast here. It was essentially a very expensive self serve continental breakfast with the tin platters with warmers under them. If this breakfast had been included with the room of a super 8 I would say that it was good. But it cost $140 with tip for 2 adults and 3 children...
For 8 people we were offered one basket with a melange of types with 4 pieces only. All were hard and cut the mouth. The rectangular wheat type were the worst. Our one bowl of the better stuff was half done when another was replaced with the most inedible kind. Bizarre. Oil and vinegar were never offered to dip and when asked for (after the 3rd bowl of bread), came both in separate 1 cup soup bowls from the buffet. Bizarre again. I normally never order chicken at a restaurant because i think its always dry. My daughter ordered chicken with her alfredo. I also ordered the half roast chicken with polenta. Both of our chickens were dry and tasteless (&$25+). The polenta and sour tomatobased vegetables (?) under my underseasoned roast chicken was confusing as well as tasteless. I had to keep adding olive oil, and some balsamic salt n pepper just to eat it the chicken. My husband said his Farmers salad was OK (it looked drowned and wilted). Others ordered alfredo which wasnt bad but definitely NOT worth 22, only for Pasta. And the server tried to push the older teenagers who have very small appetites to eat off the adult menu when the kids burger was entirely adequate (which was a good thing- decent size and plenty of fries, which were basic, but good) as well as highly encouraged the buffet. Reasons from here were as follows: you might as well get this, you get all this pasta as you like it with whatever proteins and it comes out faster". I just wanted the food to be delicious and no amt of quantity or beautiful ambiance can make up for it. All in all, this was not a good experience for dinner and i would never recommend it. Especially since there are plentiful choices nearby. There is little to no attention to detail in the service and food for the pricepoint, and for an empty Saturday night in a sold out hotel, we should have taken it as a sign, but too tired to look further after a day at the pool.
I ordered breakfast to-go from the restaurant and was surprised to find an automatic 18% service charge added to the bill. I expressed my dissatisfaction, but in the end I still paid for it. Apparently, that was not enough — they claimed my attitude was “unacceptable” and called hotel security to have me removed from the property. Imagine being thrown out of a resort simply because you questioned an 18% service charge on a takeout coffee and sandwich. Truly shocking hospitality.
A one-star rating feels generous for what was, unfortunately, a completely disappointing dining experience at Trattoria del Porto. The food was the biggest letdown. My wife's pasta was a clump of severely overcooked noodles which absorbed any hint of sauce, while the protein in my dish, additional $9 Chicken, I ordered was pink and barely touched by any flavor—a clear case of being undervalued as paying patrons. It's truly baffling how such an extreme disservice to fine dining could land on one plate. The service didn't fare much better. Our server seemed completely disinterested in our table, and when we expressed our need to leave promptly due to an unrelated family emergency, he instead stepped to the adjacent table to write their order! And the hostesses at the entrance were unwelcoming at the door, 5+ of them huddled to the one desk without any sincerity for expecting guests. The atmosphere was nothing special either; it was just a bland, unimpressive space that did little to make up for the kitchen's failings. I had high hopes for this restaurant on a date night with my wife, but Trattoria del Porto completely missed the mark on every front. Save yourself the remorse and prevent what will feel as though your money was stolen; there are plenty of other places that can actually deliver a quality Italian meal, such as a local Olive Garden.

We got there to celebrate a special day but unfortunately it was not a good decision. The food is far away to be memorable. It was actually bad. They had to take a plate back to the kitchen because the chicken was burned out. The server Francisco was rude and unpolite about it, he said "we have sold two more chicken like this and they haven't complained about them". We could not believe he was saying that. For real? Is that what a server is supposed to say in a case like that? His actitud changed the mood for the entire party on the table for the rest of the night. Of course, we did order anything else and moved to another place. It was a $200 check anyway. I think we can tolerate average quality food in a restaurant if the service and the atmophere meet the expectations. The area is beautiful but we definitely will try another restaurant next time.
Our dining experience was terrible last night. This was the one black mark on what was other wise a beautiful stay at Portofino resort. Our server Danielle did a great job and was the only bright spot. When we walked in I noticed there was a table to the right with 4-5 adults and 4-5 children. Hard to say because the kids were running all around. There could have been more. For what ever reason, the hostess thought sitting us next to their table was a good idea. I saw where we were going and asked for a table on the other side of the room. They accommodated my request but sat the group behind us right next to them. I felt bad for this family. My kids ordered the buffet and got a plate of pasta. I ordered a bowl of soup and chicken wings. Meanwhile the 2-3 year old little girls start digging their hands in all of the bowls on the buffet. Literally sitting under it playing with the food. My kids were disgusted and left. This is also a huge health violation, which I intend to report to the Florida Dept of Health or similar agency. The other boys at the table are wrestling and bumping into the family seated next to them. The manager was more concerned about getting the tables setup for the next day and completely ignoring the insanity. My soup comes cold after what seemed like forever. They were nice enough to take that off my bill. So I payed $150 for 2 plates of noodles, a salad, a cold bowl of soup and chicken wings.
Honestly one the worst meals I’ve ever had in my life. Definitely the worst in the US. The eggplant in the parm was undercooked and rubbery. The pasta was over cooked and impossible to cut. The flavor was horrible. I would advise you to get a pre-made sandwich or a bag of chips at the deli next door.
This restaurant has no italian dishes for lunch... there is no reason to serve a limited american menu at a hotel like this... this is so bad.... the service is excellent but can you imagine when I asked if they served italian food and they said "no" ? This is the portofino hotel.. I need to see this changed immediately.. they have all the resources to serve an italian menu since BICE restaurant is next door.. and a pizza shop is on the other side of it... there is no excuse at this point
Wow! Worst experience at this restaurant! 35 minutes for our drinks. 1hour for appetizers. 1 and half for for our food. Then the waiter try to sneak in a $30tip for a party of 4. WILL NEVER RETURN
Very disappointed in the service we had by Abder. He basically ignored our party, cold coffee, no refills, basically he ignored us to chat up the chickie that was restocking the buffet. Terrible.
Overcooked pasta, in industrial grade sauce, with some tinned tomatoes, and what was allegedly eggplant, is a pretty sad offering for so nice a resort. Charging 30 dollars for cafeteria food doesn't make it gourmet. The atmosphere is the resort, itself. The service is the amazingly kind, front-of-house staff.
Due to the ignorance of their "manager" tonight they just lost a customer that easily spends 10k per year at their restaurant. Next time think before you try to be a hero.
I'm a Chef, this food was gross , frozen oysters on a half shell, advertised king crab,it was snow crab, I said something and the chef brought out the worst old frost bitten king crab I have ever seen, I left it ,I would never go there again$ 250 with a bottle of wine, not worth it at all ,cow fish has way better food any day, not a complainer but sometimes things have to be said stay away from this place
Terrible service and not good food at all. Atmosphere was good until I got my food and bill. Burrata dish starter didn’t have any burrata. The waitress didn’t tell us what’s included and conditions of “Pasta Cucina” option even though we asked specifically about it (at the end of the evening we found out that it was not only pasta, but also salad and soup included in the price; btw it’s not stated in the menu too). My kid didn’t like her pasta (taste of milk/lactose in the sauce was too strong). So she brought it to me to taste. I was charged twice for the dish ($17 for being ordered by my child and $30 for being tasted by me). And the sauce was so disgusting that none of us actually ate it. Therefore I paid $250+ for dinner and my and my child’s best meal in this restaurant was complimentary bread and butter at the beginning. I don’t recommend this restaurant.
Pet friendly hotel, but you can’t bring your dog on the outdoor restaurant patio, only service animals. Under Florida law restaurants may allow pet dogs on patios if permitted, but Trattoria chooses not to. We’ve never been turned away from outdoor seating with our dog before, so this felt misleading for a hotel advertised as pet friendly. Don’t expect to dine outside with your dog here.
For a $100 plus meal, I’d expect a lot more. Sorry, but this was worse than an Olive Garden by many miles. Nice location though.
