GU Ramen Taps & Tapas

This is the best place we've been to on the beach for a late night snack. The service is really nice and helpful. They have a TV playing older music videos, and it's fun to see. There is a bar, and it's just really social. I tried the kale noodles, didn't really care for it much. The ramen itself is good though, and flavorful.

We started with GU style fries as appetizer. It is little sweet, savory, very taste. I ordered super spicy with chashu. Broth was amazing and portions was big. Gu has been my go to ramen in the area and I live in Dana Point. And one of us got super spicy, entire table was it was spicy but she didn't feel it at all. This place has the best spicy pork but get spicy or mild with it. The spicy pork makes it spicy. Amazing place coming back for sure

My husband & I went here when searching for a ramen spot that was open past 10pm. Wasn't sure what to expect but we were delightfully surprised. Ramen was delicious & the spicy wings were so good. Staff was super friendly & checked to see how we were doing a number of times. We'll definitely be back again soon.

The wings are amazing! A must have when going here. Everything was great honestly. The broth on the ramen was incredible. The tempura was perfect on the shrimp. Such a cool low key spot. Amazing vibes. One of my favorite spots now.

My wife found this place in Laguna Beach as we were going to the Pageant of the masters Ordered: Gu Ramen with Fried Tofu topping, Crispy tofutons, and fried rice. Everything was delicious and was served quickly. Our wait staff Dan was friendly, helpful (had a few questions), and checked in with water and if we needed anything. Definitely give this place a chance.

Great place just by the road and near to the viewpoint for the beach. The food also tasted very good and was easy to order - they are able to accommodate your request as much as possible. Would definitely be back.

Wow! A friend took me here! Totally stoked that we went. A group of 4, sat immediately, super quick service. We ordered right away and got our food all prepared perfectly. These were the best Udon noodles I have ever had. Spicy Ground Pork & Fried Tofu. Also, go for the Gu Fries! They are like animal fries from in n out but totally unique. Go here if you want a chill vibe and a group of 4 or less.

What a delicious and enjoyable lunch in Laguna Beach to celebrate my friend’s birthday! Savor the Gu Ramen, which is customizable to spicy level, choice of noodles and toppings. The combination of Tonkotsu broth with pork and chicken and Chashu was so satisfying and delicious!! The added spinach gave me the veggies it needed. My friend ordered the same thing except she had kale noodles, which is a great low carb option and added bean sprouts instead of spinach. She loved it!! My friend (his birthday) ordered the Ramen Tofu with this Shoyu Umami Broth and double Tofu. It was delightful and it’s his regular go-to. The spicy and regular edamame is the perfect appetizer! Very shareable! The service was friendly. She remembers her regulars. Love the ambiance!! The open window is great!! It’s near the beach! Just be prepared for the summer crowds in Laguna. Parking isn’t the easiest. You’ll probably have to circle around a bit. And, the traffic going into Laguna Beach can be frustrating so allow for extra time.

I've been coming here for years when on vacation. Prices seem to have gone up while the quality didn't seem quite the same. I still give it 5 stats because it is really good ramen. The location is perfect after a beach day.

Food: Ordered a bowl of Ramen medium spicy with sprouts, pork belly and corn. It was delicious. Perfect amount of noodles and the broth was tasty. I need to try their appetizers next time. Service: I was contacted immediately, seated, and my order was taken with accuracy. Got my food 10 minutes later and the server visited my table frequently to see if I needed anything. Final thought: Though there are plenty of ramen options these days, Gu Ramen is a solid choice! I will be back.

Damn good ramen with very flavorful soup. In fact, my wife like it so much we went there twice during our holiday at Laguna beach, something that we normally don't do as we prefer to try different stalls during holiday. Maybe due to the fact that I'm an Asian that is used to spicy food from Singapore, don't really find the super spicy ramen that spicy 🤣. Nevertheless, the ramen taste real good and will not lose out to the ramen I have in Singapore. It feels especially good to drink the ramen broth in cold temperature during November as well. For sides, the calamari and cheese corn is also very good.

Absolutely delicious! The broth is rich and flavorful, the noodles are perfectly cooked, and the pork melts in your mouth. Cozy vibe and super friendly staff. Easily one of the best ramen spots in Orange County. Highly recommend!

I'm a big fan of Asian food and it was my first time spending the day in Laguna Beach. It was a short walk from the beach, maybe 20 minutes and service was good and staff were friendly. We ordered 2 Ramen bowls with egg topping and made it a combo. I would say broth wasn't bad and portions were good. The egg isn't a soy sauce egg so if you are into that, then you may be disappointed. The rice bowl was good but you can say it's an acquired taste if you aren't into pickled veggies. Definitely recommend to someone if they're looking for a good quick fix and can't decide on what to eat but if you're looking for a more premium Ramen taste, this isn't it. 4 stars from me but I would be open to going again.

I tried their mandarin sorbet and it was disappointing but still a good pallet cleanser. We really enjoyed our dinner there. This continues to be our annual stop in Laguna for a late ramen.

I’ve been here before and the ramen is great. Unfortunately the service is just lazy. I came for happy hour and when I got the bill the waiter told me that I ordered a couple minutes before happy hour so the discount wouldn’t apply.
