ESPRESSO MARTINI MUST STOP! I stopped in with my wife to share one drink after dinner, but the espresso martini Casey made us was absolutely the best one I’ve ever had (made with fresh brewed espresso) 1 shared drink turned into 3. She truly cares about her work and craft that’s for sure. She was attentive, and very kind. We will be back for sure and we’ll definitely be at the bar next time.
Driftwood Kitchen is such a wonderful experience from start to finish. The ocean views are absolutely stunning, especially at sunset, and make it a perfect spot for a date night or special evening out. The service was friendly, welcoming, and attentive without ever feeling rushed. The food was fresh, beautifully prepared, artistically plated, and full of flavor. Everything about the experience felt thoughtful and relaxed. Between the views, the atmosphere, and the quality of the food, it’s a place you’ll want to come back to in beautiful Laguna Beach. Highly recommend.
The Glacier 51 is the best Chilean sea bass I've ever had. Great place for date night, just try to avoid parking at sunset - the views are amazing and the valet is shared with the deck and a local hotel and they get slammed. Try to get one of the few outside tables when you make reservations!
Decided to try this awesome spot. My wife and I was blown away, from the charm when you first walk in and the top notch customer service we received upon entering. As soon as we sat down Austin greeted us, very attentive from beginning to end. For drink I had a passionate one, Must try for sure. And my wife had Moet champagne. For breakfast we split the gronala french toast and the egg griddle. French toast was mouth watering, light and redicolusy good. The griddle was a very nice size portion that fed both of us. We definitely left with a full belly but.most important a very excellent impression. Thanks Austin for the service and kindness. Sitting outdoors is a treasure for sure.
Came here to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary and had a wonderful brunch with a even better view our server Bianca was so wonderful and even brought us a complimentary desert, we will DEFINITELY be coming back for more anniversaries to come. 100% must visit restaurant.
Beautiful ocean views and a great spot for brunch or lunch! The clam chowder was delicious, and they let us bring our own wine for a $25 corkage fee. I loved the crab eggs benedict, and the oysters were super fresh. All the egg dishes were tasty, though the coffee have room for improvement could be stronger and taste better kind of match the restaurant class ! Service was kind and welcoming. Parking is the downside ,valet is expensive, and we ended up spending $65 for the day. Still, highly recommend for the food, views, and overall experience!
What a beautiful restaurant with incredible views! I started with an Irish coffee, and then ordered the crab cake Benedict. It was delicious but I could have split it with someone else because it was quite filling. Service was great! I would absolutely recommend this place if you’re spending the day in Laguna.
Excellent ocean view, ambient. Wife had a large sea food tower and still talking about it after 3 weeks!
Fantastic food and beautiful ambiance. The view is stunning right on the water and the sea bass was to die for!

Went to Driftwood Kitchen last minute for brunch. They used to have a great vegan hash on the menu, but unfortunately there are no real vegan options anymore. I am not a fan of places where you simply remove the cheese from a dish to make it vegan, don’t replace it with anything else, and still charge the same price. It just feels like an afterthought rather than a true option. I did have a watermelon mocktail which was actually pretty good. The inside was really loud though, and it was hard for our table of four to hear each other. There were also no tables available outside when we arrived. That said, the location really is beautiful and the ocean view is great. One thing to note is that it is valet only, and we ended up waiting quite a while to get the car back. Overall: great location and views, but I wish they still offered a thoughtful vegan dish like they used to.
On a weekday evening, I drove down to Laguna Beach with my family to catch the sunset and finally try Driftwood Kitchen. We’ve been to its sister restaurant, The Deck, a few times before, so this time we wanted to see how DK compares. Since we didn’t have a reservation, we were seated a bit further inside. We could still see the horizon, but I’d definitely recommend booking in advance and asking for a patio table—watching the sun slowly dip into the ocean with the sound of waves right below you really elevates the whole experience. It’s an ideal spot for date nights or special occasions. I ordered the Surf and Turf, which comes with a 6oz filet mignon and a shelled lobster tail. I requested medium rare, but it came out closer to medium. That said, the filet was still tender and juicy, with a fine texture and no chewiness. The lobster tail was fresh and nicely bouncy. The real standout of the night was the seared scallops—beautiful crust on the outside, perfectly tender inside. Paired with a mushroom medley and smooth mashed potatoes, the dish had great depth and balance. On the other hand, the lobster carbonara was underwhelming. The seasoning felt flat; it was dominated by a heavy Parmesan flavor without enough black pepper or complexity. The complimentary rolls were very good though—topped with sea salt and rosemary, lightly crisp outside and soft inside. For three people, the total came to a little over $220 including tip. Service was professional and friendly throughout—water refills were prompt and pacing between courses was well managed. Flavor-wise, I’d say it’s slightly behind The Deck next door, but the ambiance here feels more refined and better suited for a romantic evening.
The food was just average and shocking the sushi was just ok and in Cali it’s usually great! My wife had a sandwich and it was good. You can’t beat the beachside location and views. Overpriced for the good. It’s certainly a great place for drinks Oceanside.
Great views of you get a table outside but good food. Started with the Parker house roll which came out warm and was standard. Also had the grilled Thai prawns to start. Probably the tastiest thing we ordered. Went with the lamb chops and steak for mains. Both absolutely tasty and would recommend. They also had a children’s menu that you can request for. My nephew had chicken fingers and fries. We had the fingerling potatoes as a side as we weirdly weren’t able to order a side of fries because that wasn’t allowed. Desserts were okay. Had the bread pudding and churro doughnuts. Service wasn’t the best, very slow but it was a full house.
Had a clam chowder cup and it was very good. Tasted fresh and creamy. The French fries were nice and crispy on the outside and the ranch was amazing. Made in house and different. The view was nice also. The things I didn’t love was that it was a little confusing to find, it was all valet parking and everything was expensive.
Beautiful spot with an amazing ocean view! Our server Bianca was super sweet and made us feel very welcome. The cocktails and blueberry pancakes were great, and my daughter enjoyed her eggs and potatoes. I ordered the veggie hash and was disappointed to find it had a cashew cream sauce that wasn’t listed on the menu—it totally overpowered the dish and wasn’t to my taste. Aside from that, we had a great experience and would come back for the atmosphere, drinks, and service.
A very pretty restaurant with a great selection of drinks/food. It was my husbands birthday and we were celebrating with friends we hadn’t seen in years. They let us stay well past closing hours and were very accommodating. A great place for date night or celebration. Some of the dishes were salted heavily but others were awesome!
Nice views though the restaurant you walk through to get to Driftwood Kitchen from valet parking has better views! The food was pretty decent - the lobster was good and the dessert was very good! Service was pretty good though we waited for about 25 mins for our mains. In the meantime it was a pretty noisy wait. Hardwood floors and no carpeting at all makes sound bounce around so you really have a hard time hearing your guests speak. Better than average experience.
Great location & easy valet ($16 - 2 hr ) parking! Busy and bustling, it did slow down quite a bit about 11:45. Came for brunch, the amazing ocean view & fresh seafood. • The lobster flauta was artfully plated to look like sushi. The portion was good and if you like something spicy this hit the spot. • The lobster hash I thought seemed a little bit too heavy on the potatoes. Nice farm fresh deep yolk colored poached eggs. Not too much cheese. Very filling, but again you've got to love potatoes. • The Louie salad seemed a bit skimpy. Nice organic greens, but seems like they could have used a denser portion. • Child's chicken tenders were amazing. The portion size were enough for an adult. They were crispy and served with lots and lots of plump french fries. • Their chowder, was definitely a standout. Nice proportion size and definitely worth ordering. • Wedge salad, another stand out. Traditional, with the twist of seafood made all the difference in an old classic.
I really loved walking in and the bar was so small and inviting. There was a small sitting area and the bartenders were super friendly and made great drinks. It was dark and comfy where you first walk in. Behind the bar was a beautiful dining room with the best views. Outside on the terrace were tables for 2 and some of the best spots to sit in Laguna. The service was exceptional and everyone was super friendly. The only downfall was my sea bass which wasn't as tasty as I expected. But the open air dining was truly a great experience. I would highly recommend this secret place.

We arrived and asked for outdoor sitting , server said not possible in a very non friendly way. We said we are tourists from a cold country and will appreciate to be seated outdoor and he refused although there were two sits available. The fish and chips was nice - fries were so oily but the cod was nicely cooked and thick and juicy and very tasty. Burger was just ok. Chicken was nice and cooked in unique way. Our server did not even smile once and whatever we asked he gave us an unfriendly look and he showed he’s unhappy with the tip in a rude way i have never seen in a restaurant or maybe we weren’t used to culture. Anyhow we were looking to have a pleasant time there and left in a bad mood.

Our breakfast at Driftwood Kitchen in Laguna Beach was a letdown. Despite 80% of the tables being open, we were stuck waiting 30 minutes to be seated, which was frustrating and unnecessary. The hostess seemed disorganized and could benefit from better training to manage the seating process efficiently. The servers appeared bored with nothing to do, as most tables were empty, yet the service was surprisingly slow. The oceanfront atmosphere was beautiful, and the breakfast menu had potential, but the poor customer service and long wait overshadowed the dining experience. For a Laguna Beach restaurant known for its coastal dining, I expected better hospitality. Hopefully, they improve their service flow for future guests.
