King's Fish House in Laguna Hills receives high praise for its fresh seafood, attentive service, and pleasant ambiance. Manager Vanessa is frequently commended for her exceptional customer service. Oysters, Chilean Sea Bass, and the lobster roll are popular choices.
Tip: The bar is a good option if there's a wait for a table, especially on weekend evenings.
Absolutely excellent in every way! (Pro tip: order the Umami Chilean Sea Bass. Arguably the best meal i have EVER had!). Everything from the fresh, warm sourdough bread, the clam chowder (amazing), garlic mashed potatoes, asparagus.......all of it was presented and prepared exceptionally prepared. Our server was equally exceptional in every way. Btw, this was a Monday night when we went and every table was full. That says a lot! You will be be glad you visit!
Truly enjoyed this experience! Sat outside with the heaters, fabulous environment! Ordered an incredibly flavorful meal- Chilean Sea Bass!! 5* For sure! The House Butter Cake is a must so save room. Caroline was our hostess, Belem our server and the manager stopped by to see how the food was. Great service! We will be back!
Great experience at King’s Fish House! The server was very friendly and attentive, the food was delicious, and the environment was welcoming and enjoyable. Would definitely come back again.
Best of Best. Sea Foods Restaurant. Lobster. Oysters. Clam. Fishes. when I had hangover, I order spicy seafood chowder soup. OMG... Korean Me Woon Tang... maybe... Big Size of restaurant, waiting for table around 7pm weekend. But... Bar is wide open !!! Nice Bartenders... And looking fresh oysters in front of you !!!
We had a wonderful lunch at King's Fish House.. the service, food and atmosphere were all outstanding. Both inside and outside were packed with guests and lively but service was still fast and attentive. The food was outstanding from the sushi rolls, we moved on to their oyster variety sampler which is a great option to sample different oysters. They were offering a halibut special and the grilled was amazing. The dual lobster tails were huge, flavorful, and very tender. Our service was extremely nice and gave great recommendations. The prices are pretty fair for the high quality of the food and the place is really nice inside where it feels like you are getting good value for your dollar. Overall this place is awesome and the staff does an incredible job while they are very busy and still puts out top quality food. Solid 5 star seafood option with plenty of variety including meat, pasta, and plenty of choices for the kids.
We went to King's Fish House for my mother-in-law's birthday. This was our first visit as we moved to CA recently and I needed to make sure she would enjoy her evening. She loves sea food but prefers an unpretentious atmosphere that is still nice without the fuss. We are all foodies and good food was also a must during our experience. This restaurant delivered and then some! The service was prompt, friendly, knowledgeable, and caring. The food variety was excellent - we picked two appetizers to share and then 3 main courses. The food was fresh and prepared with skill, it arrived on time at perfect temperature, and the complementing cocktails enhanced our impression. Our waiter was quite personable and made my mom-in-law's birthday dinner a delight. Thank you! Highly recommend! We will be back.
A Seafood & Steak Lover’s Dream – King Fish House Never Disappoints! My boyfriend and I absolutely love King Fish House! We’ve been to multiple locations, and every time, we leave happy with the ambiance, service, and—most importantly—the food. Our go-to way to start? Oysters on the half shell and a dirty martini—the perfect combo! I can’t visit without ordering the grilled swordfish! Whether you’re in the mood for fresh seafood or a perfectly cooked steak, King Fish House delivers every time! Highly recommend for a consistently great dining experience.
Fast and friendly service with great food. Would 100% visit again. First time visiting and had the buttered lobster roll and brussel sprout appetizer Both were 10/10!
The best & freshest seafood around with tasty drinks. Bartenders are professionals with great talents.
It's a chain restaurant, but the food is consistently good. I had the Shrimp and scallop combo and throughly enjoyed it. The scallops had a nice sear but were still juicy and the shrimp was tender. Others in our party had the seafood cobb and the macadamia crusted fish. Everyone was very happy with their selections. The menu is varied and as the name indicates, heavy on seafood in all preparations. Full bar with some fun specialty cocktails. It was a fun place for our group to gather after attending the Sawdust Festival in Laguna Beach. Will definitely go back and recommend others visit.
We make reservations, so they seated us as soon as we arrive. We love the seafood here. The oysters were fresh and delicious. We also ordered the sea bass, calamari and the shrimps with scallops. The ambiance is very nice. Friendly and attentive staff. They have outdoor seating which is nice since so. Cal spring weather is relatively nice. They also have a bar which is nice for a cold beer or a cocktail. Highly recommended.

Had to hop on here and share a recent experience at one of my FAVORITE places to eat! We had such a great time and were greeted by fresh warm bread… my favorite part! Followed by amazing courses (always got to get a cali roll to start things off!), I’m a big salmon gal so that was my plate of choice, it was cooked to perfection and one thing about KFH is they know what they’re doing with the portions! I even had some to take home! I did want to specifically shout out the floor manager Vanessa, who was extremely attentive and actually made time to check in with our table AND refill my glass (and even grab me a few lemons lol) which I think says a lot about this location! Vanessa and team, thank you for a great experience! I’m sure I will see you soon!
We had a great experience at King’s Fish House! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared, and the atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable. What really made the night stand out was our waiter (Belem) he was absolutely amazing: friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. Excellent service and great food all around. We’ll definitely be back!
I would like to give recognition to Vanessa, the manager I met on Saturday night. We had a slight issue with the service, and Vanessa immediately stepped in and corrected the situation, ensuring my husband and I had a great experience during our date night. She was extremely professional, personable, and had such a warm approach. thank you, Vanessa, for making our experience at King’s Fish House wonderful. We will definitely be back for more date nights. Also—the food was great!
Shout out to the manager Vanessa. She’s doing an amazing job and really understands hospitality/customer service. I come in often and usually sit at the bar with no issues. Today one appetizer didn’t come out, so I asked to have it taken off the bill. Vanessa handled it right away and even comped chowder and dessert. My mom and I left very satisfied with the service. The food was great and Scott and Brock at the bar are always on point.

The manager Vanessa was absolutely phenomenal! They were extremely helpful with a situation regarding the parking and extremely accommodating for an issue that wasn’t even their fault. I was served a delicious meal, the oysters are delicious and the sushi was incredible. With a fantastic selection of drinks. 100% would recommend and look forward to coming back here again.
My coming here was to celebrate my cousin’s birthday. We were joined by another cousin, and sat outside in the covered and heated patio. The restaurant is spacious, and clean. Affording a variety of seating: booths, tables, and bar; and an outdoor patio. Service was friendly, patient, and helpful. I started with a cup of their New England clam chowder that is very good. Bread and butter was brought out. It was a sourdough bread served warm. My entree of choice was the macadamia crusted halibut; with garlic mashed potatoes and organic (?) carrots. I liked the mashed potatoes. The carrots I didn’t like as much. A variety of different colors, and not all cooked consistently as some were nice and tender; and others a touch undercooked or raw. The halibut at first had me expecting a great filet that is flaky and tender. It was a conundrum of the crust being softened by the sauce, and the fish overcooked and a bit dry. We had a pleasant time. The server was kind in bringing my cousin a dessert compliments of her birthday. I believe it was a key lime pie? I had the bread pudding which was very good. The men’s room is okay. It wasn’t a complete mess. The strange part is having to walk through the restaurant, step outside to the patio area, and then enter the men’s room. The women’s room is inside. I’d return for the clam chowder. That was the best part of my meal. Then I’d try something else besides the halibut. The restaurant is suitable for all party sizes. I’d recommend coming early, or coming late. Peak times may result in a long wait. Sorry, no photos taken.
We love King's and go there often. I only wish they would realize that not everyone likes raw oysters, but do like cooked oysters and offer fried oysters, Oysters Rickefeller or other cooked items. They used to have fried oysters and later when they were off the menu they would make them if you asked. Now they don't.

Excellent halibut 👍👍. Crab cakes mostly breading and no seasoning-just awful👎👎. Seafood chowder had unpleasant fishy tasting fish in it👎. Spinach a bit bitter and unseasoned 👎.
This was my first time dining here and I actually got a takeout order because I was pet sitting nearby. I called in my order and it was ready within the time quoted The meal I ordered was grilled shrimp and scallops with veggies and potato for a to go order When I got home to open my order. I was a little dissatisfied about the appearance. The shrimp were good. The scallops were a little rubbery that was kind of a disappointment considering the meal was over $30 for a to go. I didn’t think that the price was worth the food at all. This was maybe a $15-$20 meal definitely not 30 for a takeout. When I went to wait everyone was very friendly and helped me right away. My order was correct, but it was just a little underwhelming for the price of a takeout and the quality of the seafood wasn’t top-quality as far as the scallops go The shrimp was OK but not the best I’ve had.
I recently visited King’s Fish House and had a mixed experience. The menu had a great variety of options, which was a plus, and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. However, the food itself was underwhelming. We ordered the King’s Seafood Combo, Mahi Mahi Grilled Tacos, and Shrimp & Macaroni and Cheese. Unfortunately, the food was bland, lacked flavor, and was served cold, which was disappointing. On the positive side, the drinks were a highlight. I highly recommend the East Wing, the bartender’s special—it was well-made and enjoyable. If I were to return, I would likely stick to appetizers and drinks rather than a full meal. Overall, while the service and drink selection were good, the food quality needs improvement.
The crab cakes? Frozen, I'm pretty sure. The shrimp and scallops? Overcooked and rubbery - like chewing on a shoe. And don't even get me started on the orange slice, which seemed to have been left over from the Clinton administration. But hey, the clam chowder was... watery! And the service? Top-notch... if you only need your waitress to visit your table three times. BUT, there's hope! those oysters were shucked and presented like a work of art! And the cocktails? On point! So, here's the deal: if you want amazing oysters and decent drinks, King's Fish House is your spot. Just don't expect much else.
