Oh my Goodness!!! My husband and I were searching for the BEST gyros in The woodlands and boy did we find it !!! From the time we stepped into this place, the amazing welcome we received from the manager, the service and very short wait. The Gyros were spectacular!!! Best fries we ever had !!! Desserts are unbelievable ❤️❤️❤️ Soooooo gooooood ! We hope you guys stay around a long time. Simply delicious 😋 Laurie and Sam
I have eaten at Niko Nikos twice so far. I had wonderful experiences both times. The atmosphere is vibrant and upbeat. Staff is friendly and quick to help and clean up. Food was fantastic I have had the chicken kabob plate and the chicken kabob sandwich, the chicken was very moist and flavorful. My family ordered gyros, oven potatoes , Greek salad all of it was delicious. Portion sizes are generous, good for sharing. Quality of veggies and the food overall was on point. Desserts are also amazing. Overall a great place we will definitely eat there again!
The best Greek food in Houston! By far! And we are Greeks! Our family's favorite place to eat. When our children miss Greece, that's where we bring them to taste it! The Anastasiadis family.
I eat here actually get it to go quite often cause I’m always at work but third lamb euros with the rice is superb. It’s so delicious and very filling. I would highly recommend the establishment and the atmosphere love it indoor outdoor seating inside and out and the service is impeccable.
I wanted the Spinach Chicken Pita (that had feta on it) and I ordered the wrong thing and got Spinach Feta Pita, which is their vegetarian option. It was still super good and filling! The pita was soft all the way through. No tough spots at all! I was surprised at that. Their tzatziki sauce is sooooo good!! Super smooth and the perfect compliment to the spinach and feta pita. The atmosphere is great! It’s open, bright and homey. My friend and I sampled their desserts (which are pictured) she got the chocolate layered sampler and I got the saragli. Both were really good!
Ok, so Niko Nikos is one of my faves!!! My mistake was going to this location during their grand opening. The lines were long, and the wait for food was 1 hour and 15 mins. I think we paid a lot (just 2 people $20-$25 each) and I will agree with other reviewers that for the money they are charging, Niko Nikos is gonna have to step it up just a tad. Truth is, there are other Mediterranean restaurants in the area that (I will dare say) can give y’all a run for your money (no pun). That said, the facilities were beautiful & I love the back banquet area, & they have a drive thru and take out area!! Overall, I’m happy to not have to drive all the way to i10 or Montrose :) happy to have y’all near our neck of the woods!!
Highly recommend, food was ready in less than 5 minutes, food is great, high quality, delicious tasty desert options, restaurants team is very welcoming, large variety of food option - Greek, Mediterranean, American and vegetarian! Restaurant is very large, plenty space for dining and parking! Kids friendly - a lot of high chair and I am not scared to give food for my son since I know - kitchen is clean and owner takes care about quality. My receipt was not high priced, 44$ for coke, Greek coffee, meal with gyro and rice, Greek salad and lentils soup - for 3 people it’s cheap, of course plus 8$ of tips,)))) Food was ready in 5 minutes! It was loooongggg wait line - but you know it means the quality is great, and everyone loves Niko Nikos! ❤️
Initially my family and I came to visit on a weekend....bad idea ( we were super hungry and with 2 kids) so we left. The lines were to the bathroom doors and the markers said it would take 60 minutes to get to register and 30 minutes to get food approximately. Today, a Monday at 5 pm, we waltz directly to register and order. I love this location because it is spacious, and they've got a lot of space for dining and bringing the kiddos. The food was 👍 great and service was top notch. Clean and food was out in a good amount of time. Will be coming back.
Excellent food and excellent service!! My food arrived quickly and the desserts were DELICIOUS!! I love the atmosphere and how the servers are family and treat the customers like family, as they should, since it is a family owned business! 5 stars and will come here again and tell my friends and my cat 🤗
Food and service was excellent. Some of the reviews say the prices are too high but with the amount of food you get you can share it with multiple people, multiple meals for yourself or even do a food prep for the week. By the time you go buy the ingredients, make it as good as they do, it really isn't that expensive. We are new repeat customers for sure.
Absolutely amazing place! The people are fantastic and are always helpful! The food is amazing and I don’t think you could go wrong with any option you try! If you havnt been already you should check it out!
I forgot to share this with yall yesterday but I would be remise as your local go-to for freaking amazingly good food if I did not share. .. Lately....like the past few years food is disappointing. Restaurants cutting costs by selecting cheaper ingredients and skimping on seasoning.....could be the monstanto.....gmo.....who the heck knows.....either way, nothing tastes as good as it used to. Then yesterday my hope in the culinary future of the world was restored. My vision of what a truly amazing burger came to life. That first bite which produces the flush of dopamine we spend out entire lifestyle seeking out....happened. it was all there.....the perfect thickness of the hand formed 10 oz patty....yes you read that right....cooked to a perfect medium rare....gooey cheese...crisp THICK bacon....the bun fit the burger....was toasted to buttery perfection...not too dense but never fell apart on this bad mama jamma. Art. This was art. The meat was so flavorful and juicy with a perfect sear on the outside producing the beautiful carmelization without drying it out. Then....THEN they had the audacity to throw a monstrous portion of hand cut, delicately seasoned fries on my plate...as if the burger itself was not obscene enough. I don't always go to Niko Nikos.....but when I do....I will be getting the burger....Don't say I didn't warn you....
Before this visit, it had been several years since I ate at Niko Niko's and never at this location. It did not disappoint as the food was delicious and the portions were large.
Great food! Didn’t expect them to be willing to drop off food that was missing in my to go order to my house, excellent service!!!! Will definitely support them weekly now.
My first time at this location. I was impressed by the variety on the menu, in fact I was a little overwhelmed. This is a self service, order and pick up at the counter type place. We went on a Saturday at lunch and it was very crowded, but did find an empty table quickly. The place was surprisingly clean despite all the foot traffic. I had a chicken shawarma sandwich and fries. The sandwich was quite messy from the sauce but it was very tasty. The fries were crispy and full cut from a real potato, not the pressed and formed kind. I will go back and do recommend it.
Recently opened in The Woodlands, this Greek Fast Food spot is already making waves with its exceptional cuisine, especially its desserts. The food here is remarkably delicious, offering a true taste of Greece with every bite. Whether you're enjoying their flavorful gyros or treating yourself to their irresistible desserts, this place delivers a satisfying dining experience that's worth a visit.
First time there for my kiddos and they enjoyed their kids meals. Wish the outdoor play area was a little bigger or had more activities for the kiddos. Other than that the food was delicious, good sized portions and the gelato/frappes for dessert were amazing! Lots of seating and plenty of options.
Niko Niko's hosted a "Give back dinner" where all of the proceeds from the soft opening went to Interfaith Woodlands. I was glad to be apart of this wonderful event. If you are not familiar with Interfaith, take some time to read about how they have and will impact our community in so many ways. It was amazing that Niko Niko's did this for them. The food and service were great. We were able to take advantage of the FULL menu!!!!! It is counter service however there were workers walking the floor to make sure we didn't need anything and to pick up our trash once we were done. Food portions were... let's just say go on an empty stomach. You're guaranteed to need a to go box. There are so many options to choose from and nothing we had was bad. This is a nice addition to the area. They will officially open July 1st. Add it to your calendar so you don't be left out. FYI: they will be open at 10AM so you know what that means.... Breakfast! Aka: Greekfast. Also, there is a party area! :) Pictured: Loukoumades Hat Trick Combo - pork souvlaki, chicken and gyro Pita Quesadillas Oven Roasted Potatoes Baklava Frappe Kids hamburger and fries Baklava Cheesecake Strawberry
I'm in love with their tea. It's unsweetened iced tea but there is something different about it and it's sooo good. The spanakopitas were perfectly flaky on the outside and hot and yummy on the inside. They are not shy with the feta or olives on their Greek salad and the dressing was very good. Service was fast too. The salad and soups came out in just a couple of minutes and then the entrees were ready just as we finished the salads. Was perfect. And the staff came by often to clear tables and used plates so that was nice.
Four of us went out to try this place and I must say it was an experience. There were multiple places to order food when you come in and a single larger location to pick up the food. Drinks are self serve. They have adult beverages for sell, but the soda fountain seemed more an option. Three of us started with greek salads with our meals. We ordered veggie lasagna with oven potatoes, lamb shank with rice, a sandwich with fries and I had lamb kebabs with fries. The food came pretty quickly. There were ample locations to sit and enjoy conversations as well. I'm not the largest fan of Greek food, but this was definitely a good experience.
If you’re looking for an authentic Greek restaurant this is the place! I know because I went to Greece recently and it was like a blast from the past. Super good food! The bakery was also delicious, I had the Dubai cakepop.
The food all tastes super fresh and served at temp! I have recently developed an alergy to paprika, and when the staff was notified, they did everything to make sure I'd be safe eating. It was a new experience have a staff care that much, and was very appreciated! The pistachio cake is amazing also!
We have been going to Niko Nikos i n Montrose for years. I am so glad that they opened a branch here. I am glad to report trust the food odd as good as downtown. We had a chicken gyro and a lamb and beef gyro sandwiches with oven potatoes and fries. The sandwiches were great as were the oven potatoes. The fries were a touch too greasy. We also had a spanakopita and finished it off with a galakotoboureko and loukomades for dessert. All good! We were too hungry to take more pictures. There was s pretty long line as the place opened recently.
Love that Niko Niko's is now in The Woodlands! Their spanakopita is amazing along with the tzatziki sauce, yum! Everything is wonderful and the staff is so friendly and helpful. Consider them the next time you need catering...they did an amazing job for our chamber event!
Awesome location in The Woodlands! The food is amazing and staff are just as friendly and welcoming as the Montrose location. Lots of outdoor covered seating, walk up to go area, a drive through, and rooms for large gatherings. I am looking forward to my next visit to a Niko Niko location.
They did the most amazing job remodeling this restaurant that was the former Luby’s. It is so beautiful! They thought of everything. Nicest biggest patio. Great outside games.Amazing to go counter. It's decorated so nice for the holidays. I’ve been to all their locations and was excited to finally visit this location. The food is always fresh and hot.
Niko Niko’s American Greek Restaurant is a hidden gem that my wife and I had the pleasure of discovering yesterday. Despite the initial long line, the efficiency of the staff was impressive, and our order was delivered swiftly once placed. The portions are generous, and the casual ambiance makes it a perfect spot for a relaxed meal. Accessibility is well thought out, with ample room for wheelchairs and plenty of parking for families with children. My wife enjoyed a flavorful Souvlaki Sandwich, while I savored the Felafel Plate. Don’t miss out on the oven potatoes – they are absolutely splendid! Highly recommended for a delightful dining experience.
We we so excited to hear that Niko Niko's was coming from Houston to The Woodlands, and are so grateful! Reading over the reviews, it appears that many people may not be aware of what Niko Niko's is. Niko Niko's is the Greek restaurant Houston's Greeks go to when they don't want to cook. It's been a Houston staple for almost 50 years. Niko Niko's is unique. There are a lot of Mediterranean restaurants in the U.S., but as any Greek knows there's a big difference between "Mediterranean food" and "Greek" food. There are very few Greek restaurants good enough for Greeks to enjoy. Those who say that Niko Niko's is expensive aren't considering everything that's included in the meals, and the portion sizes. Greeks don't skimp, and any platter here is 2 meal's worth of food. Most restaurants nickel and dime or make you buy Greek salads separately. Here they typically come with the meals. Reviewers who complain that they don't wait on you confuse me. Great places focus on the food, and if they can lower the prices by eliminating unnecessary steps that's wonderful! Who wants to pay for someone to interrupt you a dozen times during your meal to ask if you'd like more water, and not-so-gently nudge you out and prematurely end your time with friends and family as soon as you've finished eating so they can seat someone else? You get to relax in a spacious and pleasant dining room with no rush and enjoy high quality food made from high quality ingredients for about 50% more than the cost of mass produced mediocre fast food. We really appreciate that this location is large enough to handle crowds, and has plenty of parking and places to sit.
If you’re looking for the best Greek food in town, Niko Nikos is the spot to go! The gyros are absolutely incredible, and the potatoes are the best I’ve ever had. All the food is authentic, bursting with flavor, and clearly made with love. The staff here are super kind and always make you feel welcome. And don’t miss out on the desserts—they’re the best authentic Greek sweets you’ll find anywhere! Whether you’re a long-time fan of Greek cuisine or trying it for the first time, Niko Nikos won’t disappoint. Highly recommended!
Beautiful restaurant, excellent food, delicious desserts 🍨🍦 I ordered fried shrimp🍤 with a salad 🥗 and WOW salad dressing is on point. 👌🏼for dessert, I got pistachio cake, and it was definitely super good!!! The location is super big, inside enough space for large groups of people and also outside there is a big patio(forgot to take pictures) but it's very nice you should definitely tri it out. 😀
We had no idea there was a Niko Niko's here in The Woodlands !!! After my MRI we swung back around behind the mall and found a huge parking lot! We ordered gyros and fries. Gobbled some down, packed up the rest and forgot pictures!!! But, every customer we saw ordered them, so you know they're good!! We finished lunch just in time for happy hour!! 25% off desserts and coffee. Gobbled up some and should've taken photos there as well. I got the cheesecake baklava. I didn't care for the crust that was made of baklava. I prefer my baklava plain. The cheesecake portion was delicious! My husband ordered the chocolate baklava. Again, not my favorite, he liked it. Next time, I'm getting straight bakala!!! It's phenominal!! I'm actually going to try them all! I got the app!! You scan your QR code before paying and voila!!! Start accruing points! You get 100 just for downloading the app, as well. Now that they are close, I'm going to order items other than gyros. The first time we went to the montrose location we had what Guy Fierri had. Lamb? I can't remember, but it was great. I did notice again that all tables at that location had Gyros and fries on them as well. So delicious! Thanks to Gus for helping me get my purchase added to my account and the two nice guys behind the counter. We'll be back soon with our family!!!
First time at this restaurant. The place was moderately busy. Took about 10 minutes to order. 10 minutes for our food. When you enter it is a cafeteria style set up. Order at the register and find a table. They will page you when order is ready. Their menu is extensive. Read it while you wait or pull it up on the website. My son and I ordered gyros. I had homemade fries and he had homemade chips (a la carte). Everything was good. Pricing is just what you expect anywhere. Expect to pay $20 a person. Next time I will get a Hercules and split it in half. 😭 Fries were plentiful and so were the chips. We could have split either one. Great first visit and will come back to try all the excellent options they have.
We recently used Niko Niko’s for catering at our grand opening, and they absolutely did not disappoint. From my very first meeting with David to go over the menu options, everything felt smooth and professional. The food was fantastic, but the desserts truly stole the show people couldn’t stop asking who catered our event! The Almond Square Cake and the Mini Galaktoboureko were huge hits, with guests coming back for seconds (and even thirds). We were treated so well and were so impressed that we booked them again to cater our Thanksgiving office luncheon. If you’re not in the mood to cook or simply want outstanding food and service, reach out to David at Niko Niko’s. You won’t regret it, and you definitely won’t be disappointed!
We always enjoy Nikos! The food is delicious & the service is so friendly. I feel like family anytime I dine there because that's how warm & inviting they are. The dinner items are large portions so you can often get two meals out of one dinner item making it a great value. I highly recommend their stuffed bell peppers, cabbage rolls, pasticcio, gyro pita and gyro plate. Those items are tried & true family favorites of ours. The desserts are equally fantastic with a huge variety. You cannot go wrong getting anything from their dessert display. One of my personal favorites is the loukamades. One item I don't recommend, more of a lunch item is the buffalo chicken pita. We used to love it but it's gotten smaller over time. The last time we ordered, it only had 4 small pieces of chicken so we just feel it's no longer worth the money and not worthy of being ordered again. They have a large number of menu items to chose from so I don't expect them to be perfect at everything. The gyro pita never disappoints! All that being said, just stick with the stuff they are really good at & give them the love they so greatly derserve. You're going to love them!
Just as good as the original in Montrose. This has been one of our favorites for almost 3 decades. New location in The Woodlands … opened just a few weeks ago and has so much space and so many more items. Huge restaurant and an outdoor area for kids with a giant connect 4 and cornhole. Exceptional!! My husband had the platter and I had the “mini” gyro (which was large to me) so I could enjoy my huge and fresh baklava. If you want high quality food - this is a great choice.
The staff was friendly and efficient and the food was very good. Well priced with large portions. They have definitely increased their offerings with many more options available. Really enjoyed all of the holiday decorations! Even the parking lot was decked out!
Niko Nikos is absolutely wonderful! It’s such a family-oriented place where kids and adults both can have good time. The food was perfect—flavorful, fresh, and served just right. There’s plenty of seating, so you never feel crowded, and they even have a small area where kids can play(will recommend to expand. And let me tell you—the ice cream🍦 was top notch! I’d honestly come back just for that. Everything from the atmosphere to the service and delicious food made our visit amazing. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a great family-friendly dining experience!
Ooo okay, let’s give it some personality ✨ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stopped by Niko Niko’s while killing time before an appointment and ended up discovering a new favorite. I’m not very experienced with Greek food, but this was the perfect place to explore it. The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and spotless, and the staff went above and beyond to help me choose from a menu packed with options. The wait was short, the presentation was stunning, and every bite was bursting with flavor. An unexpectedly delicious experience—I’ll definitely be back.
1st time here and it was Awesome. Got the Gyro and Slovakia plate and taste was Awesome. Reminds me of a place from Chicago. I will definitely be back.
Mark the working Manager, made our first time here very memorable. We made a mistake on our order and he brought over the correct item, no questions asked. The food was homemade, fresh, perfect temperature and spices, and satisfying. The lavatories were clean as well as the floors and tables in and outside the restaurant. There’s plenty of parking which is well lit, large patios with ceiling fans, and nice tables. When you walk in, the menus are on the wall to your left. The menu includes Vegetarian, Gluten Free, Low carb, kid friendly, and everything in between. Come check out this place! 🦄🌈
Went to Houston by IAH airport for the weekend and discovered this restaurant on the way to Woodland Mall. We ate there twice it was so delicious. Everyone there was super friendly and the service was efficient and fast. You can tell locals love to go here too. Lots of places to park and sit. The menu is amazing. You can go here for coffee and pastries or dessert only but why would you?! There is also a really cool outdoor vibe if you want to sit outside. Highly recommend.
I came over with no clue what I wanted to get. I was looking at the menu and I was approached by the general manager, Kostas. We had a very nice time talking about things in the Houston area and about good food and he recommended what I should order. Oh my goodness it was a huge plate, but it had everything I wanted to try. The food was on point. The baklava… Get it. It’s a huge portion and it’s made to perfection. I am so full and I have leftovers for as long as I want. This was such a great dining experience, I will be back to this location in particular. Thank you!!!!
01.24.2026 We love Niko's! Great people, great food, great desserts! You HAVE TO get a dessert - even if you get it to go - you just have to! They truly have something for anyone in your group. Our family comes here often (& we've been to the ones downtown as well). They're all great & it will quickly become one of your go-to places! Very wheelchair & walker friendly. Very spacious and clean as well.
This was my first visit to the Woodlands location, and it certainly will not be my last. I selected to try one of the meatballs for an appetizer, then the combo plate with moussaka and pasticchio. The plate came with greek salad and choice of potatoes, rice, or fries. I selected the potatoes and happy I did- delicious! I had leftovers for 2 more meals, so a total of 3 meals for $25! Excellent value. Highly recommend.
I stopped by Nico Nico's for lunch and ordered there gyro and chicken combo plate with rice. It was hot, fresh, and full of flavor! The portion was generous and definitely worth the price. It came with warm pita bread and tasty Tzatziki sauce, which made it even better. Erica, the server who helped me was so kind and attentive I can't wait to go back!
Very organized and clean location. Spacious and ample seating. Tasty variety of entrees from the meat eaters to the strictly plant eaters. Sangria and speciality coffees are a great addition to the delicious pastry options. Gelato/Sorbet can be tasted before purchasing which is awesome for kids. Kid friendly, no play area just a menu to color with crayons. No dogs allowed. Check out the menu to make ordering at the counter seamless... Workers are typically upbeat and don't mind helping you decide, but a line forms quickly so just as a courtesy have an idea of what you'd like. Plenty of TVs for game days.
My wife and my son and I recently ate at a new wonderful Greek restaurant here in The Woodlands, and it was an good experience from start to finish. We ordered a variety of dishes to share — the Moussaka, Chicken Gyro, and Lamb & Beef Gyro — along with crispy French fries and a fresh Greek salad. Every bite was flavorful, authentic, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. The Moussaka was rich and comforting, with perfectly layered eggplant, potatoes, and savory meat sauce topped with creamy béchamel. The gyros were generously filled, tender, and well-seasoned, wrapped in soft, warm pita. The Greek salad was fresh and refreshing, with crisp vegetables, briny olives, and just the right amount of feta cheese. The French fries were great. The service was great, very welcoming.
Manager and staff were extremely friendly and they are on top of everything. My salad was filling and refreshing. My grape leaves were phenomenal. I tried their desserts, Pistachio Baklava and original Baklava are good but too sweet for me. I definitely went back for more, I got checked wings, good flavor and good size. I can't wait to go back and try their ice-cream/Gelato.
Love this restaurant! We were just on a trip staying in The Woodlands and decided to try this restaurant not far from our hotel. The ambiance was super nice, the service was very good and the food was delicious. My husband being Greek was excited to see the loukoumades area and try the food. We were here all the way from Toronto Canada and had a lovely evening here
Having been a loyal fan of their original restaurant on Westheimer for years, I was both excited and curious to try out their new spot. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint! The restaurant is spacious, with plenty of seats available, creating a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. Of course, the best part was diving into my all-time favorite dish, the lamb gyro (or Gyro plate). The meat was cooked to perfection, bursting with flavor and paired beautifully with all the traditional Greek spices and sides. It truly felt like a taste of Greece on my plate! Overall, my visit to Niko Nikos at The Woodland location was an absolute delight, and I can't wait to go back for more of their mouthwatering dishes. If you ever find yourself in the area, I highly recommend stopping by for a taste of authentic Greek cuisine and warm hospitality.
Niko Niko's in The Woodlands is a fun vibe, cafeteria-style restaurant that brings the authentic flavors of Greece to life. The atmosphere is wonderfully comfortable and inviting, making it the perfect setting for both family outings and casual meals. With plenty of seating available, you have the option to enjoy your meal indoors in a clean and well-maintained dining area or soak up the fresh air by dining outside. The friendly and attentive staff add to the charm, providing great service that makes every visit memorable. The food is the true star of the show. The Gyros plate is a standout, with perfectly cooked meat and tzatziki sauce that hits all the right notes. The oven potatoes are a unique, must-try dish that pairs wonderfully with the meal. We also enjoyed the fresh and flavorful Greek salad, as well as the hamburger special plate served with crisp, fresh-cut French fries. With an average cost of $20 per person, the generous portions and high-quality dishes make it worth every penny. Definite two BIG thumbs up! Highly recommended, Niko Niko's is a dining destination we'll be visiting again and again. The combination of delicious food, great service, plenty of seating, and the choice to dine inside or outside makes it an easy favorite. It's clear this spot will become a regular stop for anyone who appreciates authentic Greek cuisine and an all-around excellent experience.
food is very good Did not have to wait long. Not a fan of eating with plastic forks and knives on paper plates for the price we’re paying that’s the only thing that I dislike. For the price I’m paying I at least like to eat on the real stuff.
The new Niko Niko’s The Woodland restaurant is massive. But the dining experience felt like dining in a giant cafeteria. you line up to order your food, then pick up your food at the counter. The food is served on paper plates and plastic utensils. The food is good, beef kebabs and lamb kebabs are tender, but I had better food and experience in another Greek food restaurant in the Woodlands.
Great Mediterranean food and excellent desserts. Counter service only. Seemed a bit slow. Paper plates and plastic cutlery did not fare well sitting outside on a windy day.
I love Niko Nikos! The service score is low not because of the employees, they are awesome! It has more to do with the following: 1. They normally do not have but one or two employees taking orders. Most people in line have no clue what they want to order, so it takes time to get through line especially during high traffic times. 2. The food comes out at odd times. I meet with a group of friends there every couple of weeks and our food never comes out at the same time. I realize that different items take different amount of preparation and cooking times, but it is never consistent. I also think their prices are a bit high especially since you have to order in line and pick up your own food. I usually stick to one of the specials. They have awesome desserts, but again I feel a bit over priced. The atmosphere is Ok, but nothing special. The dining are is very clean, and the staff is always friendly as well as helpful by offering to take away empty plates and trash as needed. Overall a great experience.
The food is good (if you know what you like). Three persons in my party had not so pleasant experiences with their food. I got the same thing as I have before so I knew what to expect. If you like Greek food I would definitely give this place a try. The portions are fairly large as I always have leftovers. The pricing for the drinks are pretty steep though. $3.50 for a 12oz fountain drink is too much (personally speaking of course). But to each their own.
The food and price made sense. The gyro was very flavorful and portion was plentiful. The atmosphere however reminded me of a cafeteria and could be better or Mediterranean themed. Desert looked really good but dipping everything in chocolate tended to take away the flakiness of the baklava
Niko Nikos is a reasonably priced choice with an extensive menu and options for everyone in the family. It's a fun, energizing setting, but set your expectations for good but not fantastic food before going in, and you will be satisfied. Full Review: Niko Niko's new location is the latest Mediterranean-style restaurant in The Woodlands. It is a fast-food Mediterranean, its counter-service self-seating, where the food comes on disposable plates, and the silverware is recyclable. It's hard to recognize the old Luby's that it replaced and renovated, adding outdoor seating and transforming the restaurant into a fresh, almost rustic vibe; unlike some other Greek restaurants, it doesn't feel gaudy or garish. Like many people in and around The Woodlands, we've been waiting for this to open, watching it slowly being constructed, and now that the time is here, it is jam-packed with lines up to close at 9 PM. So, it's hard not to have high expectations when the restaurant touts "Voted Best Greek Food" in Houston. Lower your expectations before eating here to align with a counter-service Mediterranean restaurant at a friendly price. It's a great place to feed your family; the staples like gyros were acceptable, but don't expect them to be much different than Ta'bleyah or GW in the mall. The pita and hummus were also acceptable, but the calamari was chewy and could have been better. The dessert case looked good and tasted good; we tried the Black Forest Cake and had no complaints. This restaurant fills a need for those who want to avoid Mediterranean buffets with solid but not fantastic food at reasonable prices in a fun, disarming setting.
Food was good. A pittle.pricey. you get a ton of fries.
We went because they had a MD Anderson blood drive van on site. So glad they support them. Food is always good. Today we asked for a salad with gyro on the side, and it was on top of the salad. The lettuce cooks and wilts very quickly and if you take it to go it is soggy when you get home. Thus asking for it on the side. Was disappointed that the feta was sliced as thin as the tomato on the salad. It was too little feta for a large salad. We asked for no capers (the brine also wilts the lettuce) and that was done correctly, but they also sadly left off the yellow peppers. Wish all the olives were kalamatta instead of including the green ones. The pita was hard - not sure if it was old or if it was because of the warming process. The gyro meat was great, as usual. Some minor things we were not thrilled about, but it won't stop us from going - especially if they are supporting MD Anderson.
Opa!!!!!!! Glad to have this Greek restaurant in the Woodlands. The location is very convenient. It's really nice inside. The place is big and decor is authentic. All the staff were friendly. We tried the Philly cheesesteak. It was good, but not great. I think it would be better on pita bread, but that would not be traditional. I do like the gyros here. They are awesome dessert selection too. Can't wait to come back and try some other dishes they have. Thanks for bringing this location to the Woodlands.
I was very excited to try this as my husband has been breaking one of the other locations for years now. So when he said he wanted to try this one I was happy to go along. And I really wanted to like it. But I have to say it's really just ordinary. The euro meat was dry and as far as I can tell overdone. The fries, while they look amazing, we're very lackluster in reality. My husband had the rice and it was fair, kind of bland. To be fair we both had Gyro plates because that's what we usually like. Perhaps if you tried some of the other Greek dishes you might have a better experience. But honestly, this was no better than the Gyro place in the food court at Woodlands mall or even the frozen Gyro kits from H-E-B. The staff was very nice, helpful and friendly. The place was very clean. Even the outside tables weren't even dusty. We really really wanted to like this place. But we are very disappointed.
New at the woodlands. It’s a pretty restaurant. My opinion is that it’s way too expensive. Food was good but There are better Mediterranean places around the area. I got a gyro plate that it was decent and hummus that it was ok not bad not good. For dessert I got a baklava cheesecake that also was ok 7 out of 10. Over all I’ll give a 8 out of 10 to this restaurant. For sure I have to give it a second try.
Way too expensive for counter service! As high as $32 for fish. Mediocre food. Pretty bland. If you know what fish & chips are supposed to be like, don't order it here. Decor is cute. Large outdoor area. Large dining area. Loud music. Margarita is good. Dolmas are petty good. Spanokopitas are disappointing. $64 lunch for two. We won't likely come back. For great Mediterranean food go to MEZZE1.
While I'm happy to have this restaurant in the neighborhood, there are some key elements missing. Greek food invites warm feelings, but the staff here are ice cold, inexperienced, and lacking serious hospitality. The ambiance is kind of the same. While there's ample room for larger parties, the restaurant just feels like a hospital cafeteria. The prices do not reflect the quality of food, so don't expect gourmet just because they charge an arm and a leg.
New review: I attempted twice to place an order online but was unsuccessful. I called the order in and was quoted a total but once I arrived to pick it up, I was quoted a different total. The lady who waited on me acted as if it were my fault that I was quoted the wrong total over the phone. Manager came out and was left feeling like I did something wrong. The food was great but the medium steak I ordered was way too tough. I wouldn't recommend the steak. The gyro was delicious and so were the dolmanthes. I would give them another chance so I can give them a better rating.
We are here for the first time this week on a weekday around 3p. We so badly wanted to love this meal after reading so many good things, but unfortunately we were disappointed. The restaurant itself was large, with both indoor and outdoor seating, a self- serve drink station, TVs, and counter where you place your order. They have individually wrapped deliver ware which was great! We ordered two lamb gyros, oven potatoes, and the village salad. The pita shells were great, the fillings were just ok. One gyro had a ton of tzatziki, and the other had not enough. The village salad was not very well balanced either as the veggies were swimming in oil. Overall, the experience was just ok.
We were a group of 12 staying at the hotel next door and called ahead to Nico Nico’s to make sure they could accommodate us for dinner. When we arrived, they seated us in a back room with three small tables in corners—not ideal for a group dinner. So we moved out to the patio for a better setup. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. A few of us had just placed our food orders when one employee suddenly decided not to serve the rest of our group—no food, no drinks, nothing—because they claimed to smell alcohol. For the record, we had been at the pool all day, and celebrating a birthday & engagement. But no one was DRUNK and disorderly. Everyone ordered water, soda, or tea, with just two people ordering a sangria. We weren’t there to party—we were just trying to enjoy dinner with family and friends. Then a different employee came out and told us they’re a “nice family restaurant” and basically told us to go find a bar or liquor store. The whole situation seemed to escalate after a nearby table complained about us moving patio chairs, which were loud on the concrete. That one complaint apparently caused half our group to be labeled “unworthy of service.” Ironically, their website says “Be the party!”—but they made us feel completely unwelcome and unfairly judged. In the end, half our group got to eat, and the other half had to leave hungry. Really disappointing and unnecessary. Shame on Nico Nico’s for not taking a moment to observe what was actually happening before making such a harsh decision.
The food was Ok, the gyro bread was rubber in parts and dry in others, lots of soggy fries. The service was Ok where you order at the counter and than pick up food when the beeper goes off. Place is clean. Leadership focus on your kitchen
Food is good but a bit pricey. They start their closing procedures around an hour before they actually close, which honestly creates an unwelcoming environment (especially for how much I paid for my meal). Felt like I was staying way past closing time with the way they were wrapping up patio furniture, clearing tables, and cleaning drink fountains but it was 40 minutes before their closing time. Wouldn’t mind if it was a little closer to actual closing time, which I always make sure to leave before (at any business), but I just felt bad the whole time.
Pretty disappointed with how downhill things have gone here… We have ordered ahead of time or ordered in person there several times. But things keep getting messed up or not properly handled these days. Last time we attempted, we got four bites of scraps of meat on our gyro PLATE (very expensive for just potatoes & pita bread otherwise…) and they only gave us one dessert when we ordered two of the same dessert (they just put both stickers on one box & only gave us 1 though we paid for 2). Probably going to go to Olive Oil instead, now.
Food was okay but IMO slightly overpriced for what it is considering that it’s counter service. Keep in mind that you have to walk up to get your order with a buzzer and they are still asking to be tipped 15-20%+ at the register for food that comes out on a paper plate and a drinks in plastic cups. Counter service restaurants should not be asking for tips, no one is waiting on me, refilling drinks, or taking my order. Not to mention I asked to order one thing and the young man that took my order rang me up for something completely incorrect.
I've been to Niko Niko's a few times but on this night, I was a little disappointed in the time it took for our food to arrive and the bland taste. My mom had the fish and chips dish. Fish could have been cooked a little longer and the fries (chips) were soggy (limp). I had the gyro chicken platter which I ended up switching with my moms fish and chips dish because she didn't like it and the wife a cheese burger platter. Food was untasty at best with none of us eating much of our dinner nor taking our leftovers home. I'm not saying the food was horrible, just not enjoyable. On top of that it took 40 minutes for our food to be ready. Mind you, it takes a lot for me to post a somewhat negative comment on my dining experience. But for an $84 dollar tab, it wasn't to our liking. Another time... Perhaps?
This place has definitely declined in the overall quality of food and in my opinion they have deviated from what once made them a stellar restaurant. They are so busy concentrating on to many different foods and have strayed from their simplistic foods and one of the most disappointing food items Is their once famous lemon pepper pork chops. It used to 45 minutes for the delicious dish. However, they changed their technique to reduce the time and it has ruined the dish. Once supple and thick chops are now reduced to thin rubbery impossible to cut with the stationary plastic utensils. It seems like they are concentrating more on the desserts than the food that made them a local legend. The potato chips were stale and rubbery. The last 3 times we have ventured here we have always had issues.
This was my first time at this restaurant, and it was absolutely disappointing! I ordered a chicken gyro and a fried fish and shrimp plate. The gyro was disgusting , the “chicken” was actually just chicken skin! When I showed it to the staff, they told me that’s how they serve it. So if you’re in the mood to eat chicken skin, this is the place for you! Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone. I wasted $50 for food that was inedible. Terrible experience from start to finish.
Not impressed in the least. We went with a big group last night and for just my family (two adults, one child) our bill was almost $100 for counter service food. Food was absolutely underwhelming also, and served with paper plates and plastic tableware. My pork kebab had a couple of small pieces of pork and TONS of onions/tomatoes/filler items. Our group was sitting outside on the patio and while plenty of customers were still eating, a couple of staff members quite literally were using blowers to clean the patio? Wild. The value is simply not there for this overpriced glorified fast food establishment, and I don't see them staying open for long.
Unfortunately we are extremely disappointed. We waited over one hour for our dinner. Calamari was overcooked and extremely tough, Gyro meat undercooked, and the country greek salad was missing the FETA cheese. 4 people $163 eating from paper plates. The original location is 10 times better.
I had a horrible experience as a uber eats driver today. I was just gonna pick up an order for one of my customers and the employee told me to go thur the drive thur which didnt make any sense since the food was ready but the employee was cool and I was like OK I will do that. When I got to the drive thur window, I guess he was a manager but started arguing with me over the drive thur situation for some reason. I wasn't even mad, I just thought it's a dumb policy because if it's busy then the customer and driver have to wait even if the food is ready. He kept going back and forth and threaten to block me from future orders and also told me to leave and wasn't gonna give me the order. In over 8,000 delivers I have done, I have never experience that ever! Gig workers should never go to this restaurant ever. Bad business!
Eileen is an employee here who is very rude in the way she conducts business. We had two water cups and one of us got iced tea instead of water. I understand you have to pay for the drink, which we did once she confronted us but she could have came to us quietly and let us know. Not to mention we had already ordered over $40 worth of food. Then she must rudely make it know that we needed to pay for the small tea another $3.79. They give us the water cups for free, yet the cups and lids themselves cost more the the small amount of brewed tea it took in the small plastic cup. Overall my point is she could have came to us quietly and talk to us privately about it, especially since we are paying customers, who come regularly.
What a disappointment. This Greek restaurant failed on even the basic falafels. The food was overwhelmingly bland and poorly executed. We ordered the lentil soup, a meze platter, and a falafel burger, and none of it impressed. The dolmas and spanakopita looked and tasted identical to prepackaged versions you can buy at Costco. The hummus lacked flavor, the falafel was extremely dry and completely tasteless, and the lentil soup tasted like generic canned soup. The falafel burger was overloaded with lettuce to the point that it resembled a wedge salad rather than a sandwich. Presentation was equally disappointing. The lentil soup was served in two stacked paper bowls with the pita bread placed between them, resulting in the bread being crushed. The meze platter was especially sad: a large, mostly empty plate with a tiny portion of bland hummus (oddly green in color) and an unappetizing hot sauce. Overall, the food quality, flavor, and presentation were disappointing. I would not recommend this place.
VERY Disappointed with service of line cook & food quality. Fries were barely warm, asked for fresh fries. Got an eye roll & then watched as the line cook (who was obviously upset by my request for replacement) threw the fries off my plate in the fryer for literally not even a minute & throw back on my plate. I was so pissed at this but held in any further comment as I knew that obviously employees feel the customer is never right. Of course by this time my gyros was cold as well. As you can see not 1 decent tomatoe was in my gyro, all end cuts of Tomatoes. Took 1 bite as I was very hungry but not enough to eat another bite. I can't imagine going back any time soon. If I want authentic Greek food I will definitely drive a bit further to The Olive Oil on Sawdust where they truly care about quality & not a fast food type establishment.
My first experience was very good. I ordered a gyros platter and a cup of chicken lemon soup. It was delicious. My second visit was so disappointing I had to write a review to let management know. As I’m waiting for my burger and fries take out order..I noticed my order came up to be bagged. It sat for a bit longer than it should. The young man opened it and started to laugh, showed the lady he was working with. They laughed and put it back up to the cooks. Said something to them and walked away. It finally was returned, bagged and handed to me. When I got home (5 minutes away) I opened it to see a mess. It was barely warm. I was so disappointed. Do better!
Absolutely Disappointing – Will Never Return I never leave reviews like this, but my experience at Nico Nico’s in The Woodlands was beyond disappointing. I was genuinely excited to try this place — Greek/Mediterranean food is one of my favorites, and the setup is actually really cute. But that’s where the positives end. I spent over $60, and I literally threw all of it away. That’s not something I do lightly — I hate being wasteful, but the food was just that bad. Dry, flavorless, poorly prepared — nothing tasted fresh or authentic. I was shocked. Customer service was just okay. One of the staff members did attempt to be helpful, and I appreciated that, but it didn’t make up for the quality of the food. It was honestly one of the worst meals I’ve ever had from a restaurant, and I say that as someone who genuinely loves this type of cuisine and supports local businesses whenever I can. I won’t be going back.
