A true country inn: a family atmosphere, excellent food, and attentive, meticulous service. The highlight: excellent coffee made with a moka pot, and the tarts are also spectacular! It's also a perfect place for a snack after a long bike ride along the Po River.

This osteria was recommended to us, and I'd say it was a good one! Limited seating, but plenty of quality local produce. The appetizer of cured meats, vegetables, and cotechino was excellent and plentiful. Two first courses, ravioli di magro and risotto with sausage and creamed peas, were delicious. We only had the first courses, but otherwise, there were also main courses and dessert. To top it off, a nice coffee in the moka pot and complimentary liqueur. Very fair price!

It's a true joy to discover places linked to flavors and environments that have been passionately cultivated for 85! Eighty-five! years of tradition. It's no coincidence that the Via Francigena passes right next to us. Thanks, Renato! We'll definitely come back to visit you again, perhaps this time shrouded in the fog of the "bassa."

An old-fashioned osteria...no frills...traditional Lombard/Emilian meat dishes and good wine. All homemade dishes and cured meats. The fixed-price menu starts with cotechino, followed by a mixed cured meat platter (salami and coppa are very good). It's followed by two first courses (rice with sausage and lean tortelli). The second course consists of a trio of grilled meats (including game). To finish, a house tart. The staff is very friendly, but above all, the atmosphere is lovely and very convivial. Be prepared to sit at the table for at least 2-3 hours. Card payments accepted.

Trattorias this old-fashioned and pleasant are increasingly rare. Very little of a "public place," much more of a sense of being at tables set aside in the old dining room of a kind country family. Two friendly young men serve delicious traditional food to their guests. I've heard of full reservations for two consecutive Saturdays, a sign of perceived quality and the well-being of the patrons. The appetizer was excellent, the mixed roast main course less so, but I was satisfied.

It's a timeless place, with the typical charm of "non-places." It's literally right next to the banks of the great river, where I recommend taking a stroll after lunch. For me, lunch consisted of a classic appetizer of excellent cured meats, a second course of risotto and agnolotti, and a trio of roasts (veal, rabbit, and guinea fowl), all tender and flavorful. Finished with a homemade tart and moka pot coffee. Don't expect any surprises from the kitchen, nor any creative flair, but rather a wealth of tradition combined with the expert use of excellent ingredients. In the dining room, Renato dispenses pearls of wisdom in the typical (and, for me, moving) local dialect.

Gaetano La Montagna

An inn, a true inn like none other. Nothing like the modern "osterie" and "taverne" that now compete for a Michelin star. This is the kingdom of Renato and his family, innkeepers serving pilgrims on the Via Francigena for generations. Renato has countless stories to tell, an ancient wisdom. His women practice that wisdom in the kitchen. The ravioli are simple, with ragù, but so delicious you could eat a kilo. Their cotechino (only from October to March) is delicious and doesn't bother you even if you eat 10 slices (coronary permitting); ditto the polenta with cheeses. What can we say about the game stew, the braised meat (oh my goodness, it's delicious!), the ribs as God commands. But where the lady really outdoes herself is in the crostata. Always fragrant, flavorful, tastes of butter and jam and that's it! A simple, ancient, yet genuine dish.

In due ci siamo seduti alle 12.15 tempi biblici d'attesa nonostante la saletta contava 25 altri avventori e ci siamo alzati disperati alle 15.00! Manco fosse un pranzo di matrimonio. Abbiamo ordinato a testa un antipasto di salumi (ottimi), un primo, un secondo con contorno(servito alle 14,45) e che non abbiamo consumato xchè l'appetito nel frattempo era passato causa attese snervanti, acqua e vino. Zero dessert o caffè per un totale di 32,50 euro a testa. Leeentisssimiiiii. 3 ore sono decisamente troppe.
