Great place for a date! Showed up here hoping to have a nice dinner date on a Friday evening, didn't realize it was the type of place you make reservations for considering it's in Langley, OK and in a house, but after being seated in a homey yet classy atmosphere I completely understood why. The food and drinks were amazing! The owners were sweet and very involved in the service and making sure to check on everyone and crack a few jokes with their customers. I was so happy they were able to squeeze us in to enjoy this lovely little place!

This restaurant was fabulous! I would definitely recommend trying this place out! The food was delicious! I had the KC Strip which was 14 oz and tasted great! I think the steak butter really helped it become great tasting! I tried their whole fried potato which was basically a baked potato but they fried it instead. It tasted great as well! My husband had their grilled shrimp which came with brown rice and he ordered steak fries as his side. He really enjoyed his shrimp and the fries were crispy! They do bring out bread before the meal. It tasted like basic bread and butter to us. We weren’t impressed with either and didn’t eat much of it. After I received my steak it had steak butter on it and I tried the bread with the steak/herb butter and that tasted amazing together! I think they should serve the bread with that herb butter instead! Maybe ask if you can try the herb butter with the bread! There are not a lot of places for dinner in the area and we were pleasantly surprised with this place. It was a little pricier than we expected with entrees averaging $25-$45. It is inside a house so it did seem different when we pulled into the parking lot. They had nice black tablecloths and it seems a little nicer for the atmosphere to eat here but at the same time it seemed very comfortable and friendly to eat here. The initial person that helped us was an older gentleman and he was a sweetheart with jokes letting me know my husband ran out the back door when I came inside a couple minutes after my husband. Our server was fantastic and overall we had a great experience.

If I could give this restaurant ten stars I definitely would. They have fantastic service and everyone was so friendly. Our waiter was one of the best we've ever had. The food was to die for and exceeded our expectations. Then came the most delicious dessert. We will definitely be going back again.

Wonderful Grand Lake dinner spot in a 100 year old farmhouse. We loved the atmosphere, food, and service. We'll be returning!

This place is amazing! From the moment we stepped in the door, through the last bite of dessert we were treated as friends and served some of the best food ever. I honestly will never forget the experience we had. We were looking at all the pictures inside when Jim (who is the owner) took the time to tell us about them. Every single thing we ate or drank was noticeably fresh and was carefully prepared. What they have at the Artichoke Restaurant and Bar is rare these days! If you are anywhere near Langley Oklahoma, you need to treat yourself to an amazing experience.

Our first time here, will definitely return! We had stuffed mushrooms and grilled artichoke appetizers. Caesar salad and steak soup with shrimp scampi and filet mignon. Key lime pie to go! Everything was perfect including Dakota, our adorable waiter! Thank you Diana and Jim for a wonderful evening.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Oklahoma! We used t have a place at the Lake and we would go to Artichoke a lot My favorite is the fried shrimp. I haven’t found anyplace that comes close.. This restaurant is a gem and I highly recommend.

Food was so fresh and delicious. Vegetables come straight from the garden out back. I am doing a low carb diet. I had a tomato, cucumber onion salad. My entree was Santa Fe chicken. Chicken breast stuffed with green chilies, cream cheese and wrapped in bacon. Side was squash medley

One of our most favorite places! We have different entrees but, regardless of our choice, they always come out perfectly done. The restaurant is housed in an old home which, to our view, makes it all the more eclectic. Seating is available in the bar or dining room and we've done both. The bar is made up of a couple of high-tops and a handful of chairs at the bar itself. It's very cozy; the owner also functions as bartender and is always hospitable (and ready with a joke since we go there quite often). We've eaten the small filet many times, the steak soup, crab legs (the Tuesday night special), the pasta special, many salads and a couple of desserts. We look forward to going to The Artichoke and, without fail, are never disappointed.

Although I don’t live in Langley, I was with good friends, and they are fond of this restaurant. I can definitely see why. We all ordered before dinner drinks and they were done perfectly, and to the specifics of each individual guest. It was super busy when we got there (we had red thankfully!) but thinned out as the night went on. The food was wonderful, I had the tilapia with capers and it was yummy oh and with squash which was nicely done. One of my friends had the special for the evening, it was shrimp and grits, and it was perfectly done too. His side dish was mushrooms. They were perfect. Speaking of mushrooms, their stuffed mushrooms, I don’t remember the name of them, were yummy super yummy. A definite, repeat for this restaurant!

After coming down to the lake from Tulsa to enjoy a long day of boating with the family we was trying to find a perfect place to eat. I never leave reviews but this place was so great that I had to. Would even go so far as to recommend it over the other restaurants on the lake such as Cherokee Yacht Club and Shangri-La. The atmosphere is unmatched. The staff are so attentive and take care of you so well. The owners are so kind and entertaining without being overbearing. The chef can cook complex orders with special instructions and even had my kids eating everything they ordered. Definitely recommend the salmon. Request Dakota as your waiter he’s very charismatic, listens well, and has good recommendations.

This is my second time to dine at the Artichoke. Wonderful both times. Such a fun and pampering experience. The wait staff work to make your dinning experience very memorable. Very professional and detailed. Dakota has been our waiter both times. Very good at his job! The food is so delicious! Great choices and prepared perfectly 👌. Great food + great atmosphere = a wonderful evening!

They were very busy. We got lucky and snagged a seat, but reservations generally are pretty much needed. Service was great, especially with them being so busy. The filet was very good. I won't get the crab cakes again. I thought they would be seared but they were fried and I didn't care for them. The salads were awesome and the potato was great. We'll definitely go again!

This place is in an old farmhouse type of structure and the atmosphere is different than any other restaurant. The food is home cooked, phenomenal, and pricey but worth every penny!

Best restaurant I have ever been to. The service was amazing they made people laugh and smile and always checked up on everyone. Even the owner comes to check and say hi. The food was delicious and the steak was tender and juicy, the steak soup was amazing it wasn't to salty I was perfect the owner sid that it was the only steak soup that will be like that it is from a restaurant in Kansas. The cleaning was very good they change the table cloth after every person. I will totally be eating there again

Neat little place. Used to be a house. The service was impeccable!!! They did all they could to ensure we had a great experience, & we did! They deserve a 10 for service! Onto the food-- Good rolls served w/roasted garlic. We had the Syrian salad w/ house made lemon mint vinaigrette dressing, which was very good. Crab cakes were good, not the best I've had, but good. I prefer a little less stuffing ,& a little more crab. Delicious crust though. Husband's grilled salmon very good. Sides were very good. Nice wine list. And they brought me chocolate cake & ice cream for a birthday treat. We'll be back!

Had dinner here on my birthday. Excellent service. Food was outstanding. Recommend the Caesar salad. One of the best we've had in a restaurant in a long time. We started with a grilled artichoke which was amazing. I had the stuffed shrimp and my husband had the catfish.

Went here on a special occasion and it did not disappoint. Service: Amazing. The hospitality was something else. Even if the food was bad (which it wasn't), I'd still go back. Food: Great, from start to finish. To start, we got a crab cake appetizer. It was paid with a sauce, onions and cherry tomatoes. Went extremely well together. The sea bass species was absolutely delicious. I could eat nothing but that for days. The cobbler was divine. Price: Moderately, worth every penny. Every item was well-prepared and delicious.

Very pleased with all aspects of this place from atmosphere to outstanding hospitality. Dinner was excellent and dessert was amazing. I don't understand why as long as I've known about this place I haven't been there sooner. My wife and I consider this our new favorite dining out place.

My wife and I took a friend for a celebratory birthday dinner. We all ordered the Filet with different sides. All had a side salad. Salad was wonderful. Simple and fresh. Steak were all cooked perfectly. Not over seasoned and wonderfully tender. Sauted mushrooms were very fresh and not over cooked. Asparagus also cooked perfectly. Surprise birthday cake with ice cream was wonderful. Staff was friendly and attentive. Made for a perfect evening.

This place is amazing! A cozy dining experience fit for a king and his queen. The food and beverages are fantastic and the staff make you feel like part of the family. Love it! Update March 8, 2022. As good as ever! Gets better every time we are here.

I love this place. I only make it there once or twice a year, and the wait staff remember my wife and me. The atmosphere is cozy, the staff is polite, courteous helpful and professional. The food is delicious. I am not a fan of mushrooms, but when I go there, I order the mushrooms. I've never ordered anything from here I didn't like.

A very fancy and cozy place to eat. Great place to go for special occasions. The food is absolutely divine and the service is excellent. The cooks do an excellent job and the waiters/waitresses are incredible as well. Everyone there cares about what they do and I could not ask for a better experience when I go.

We were vacationing nearby and wanted to find something new and unique. This was definitely a great choice. The inside is cozy and the employees were great. We loved variety on the menu and we really loved what we picked. The worst thing about this place is that is not closer to us, so we have to wait till we are on vacation to go here again.

2nd time for us. We loved the place, service was excellent as was the food. Must say the folks there are very attentive to your needs and are as friendly as a great family member! Atmosphere is homey and nicely done!

It was my first time there since I’m from Florida. I’d gotten the blackened salmon, and let me tell you being a Floridian the fish out here was amazing. Everyone was so kind as to take the orders and to explain the menus. Definitely will be back if I’m in town.

Awesome food with a Great team of servers all placed in an old house. Great place for a meal with your significant other or small groups. Cant say enough good about this place. The mushrooms and steak soup should not be missed!

Very nice atmosphere, meal and great service. Must try the appetizer stuffed mushrooms (dip the bread in the oil, trust me!) Sea Bass special was delicious. Good recommendations from the wait staff. Fresh, original and good!

The best place to eat on Grand Lake. You can't go wrong with their carrot cake. Or their steak soup. I've never had anything there that I didn't like, including the stuffed mushrooms, and I'm generally not a mushroom person.

The food was delicious. The host and staff were very pleasant and attentive. They made sure we enjoyed our 40th Anniversary meal. I highly recommend this place.

Located in an old home, the dining room is capable of small or large groups but make your weekend reservations early because this is popular with our local community. Come a little early and enjoy the cozy bar just inside the front door. Plenty of parking.

This is the very best place to eat they had the very best food I have ever ate in my life and the most sweet waitresses ever!!!! They are pricey but it's very well worth the money I loved everything I had to eat that night and we had front door service when we pulled up to go in and eat!!!! Outstanding and most Phenomenal Place to eat at I would highly recommend everybody go try their food !!!!! Thanks Artichoke Restaurant for the best Dinner Ever!!!

Our family had a lovely dinner here. I didn’t expect much from a restaurant so close to the lake, but this one far exceeded my expectations. We had a grilled and steamed artichoke. The grilled was superior in our opinion, but both were good. Fresh ingredients, warm food AND the meal was delicious all around. Meals were served with salads and bread and butter. We also had dessert to go. The layered chocolate pie was superb, as was the brown butter pie. It was a fantastic value for our money both based on the amount of food received and the caliber of it. On top of that, we were a larger table with six adults, three toddlers and a baby. Our waiter was incredibly patient and helpful by anticipating our needs throughout the evening. Highly recommend!!

5/3/ 2025 The Artichoke is a beloved, cozy restaurant in a cottage near Grand Lake. It has changed owners, yet the food and atmosphere seem to have remained the same. I've eaten there 3 or 4 times and always enjoyed it. The cocktails and wine selections are nice also. I think I've always had a crab cake but this time got the special of the day, lobster thermidor. Beautiful presentation and tasty. It was especially good with the lemon squeezed over the top (needed the lemon!). Crispy Brussels on point, complimentary bread had roasted garlic and herbs and was so good dipped in the steak soup. The menu says it's the same recipe as Plaza III from Kansas City. The side salads are generous and fresh, with homemade salad dressings. My friends got the rib eye and enjoyed it. There's also a surprise and delight factor. When you sit down there's a complimentary plate with spinach artichoke dip and crustini. And a rose for the ladies . Reservations highly recommended especially during Lake season!

Recently visited again. Last time it was off the chart delicious. This time it was so hot inside the restaurant. Husbands steak was so much fat. The stuffed mushrooms YUMMY!! The salads good. Shrimp fettuccine very tasty. Cost expensive ~ somewhere that was a must for us in the past summers ~ probably not again. $120.00 plus tax and tip for an appetizer, steak and shrimp fettuccine is very expensive.

Food was absolutely great. Service needs to improve. Our server was new, but gave her grace, we all have been there. Experience wasn't as great as the first time we visited, but I would still recommend.

Good food, eclectic atmosphere (this is a restaurant in an old house). Staff is nice but somewhere 'invasive'. Beware: food is more pricey than you might expect. Anticipate $25-$35 per plate if you're buying a daily special or something that isn't explicitly cheap, like soup. Overall we had a good experience, but my wallet is crying a little.

We went there for our 25th anniversary. We just moved here and I found this place online. Unfortunately the food wasn't that good. I was very disappointed. We both had fish and it was bland and fishy tasting. The service was wonderful and the owner was very pleasant. Our bill was over $75 for 2 which I am fine with as long as the food is good. We will not go back there.

Had high expectations due to the raving reviews, but those expectations were not met. Service was phenomenal!! The restaurant, however, smelled musty, and the food was underwhelming. Ordered a crab cake dinner and it came out one crab cake short and with a pool of grease under it. The crab cake itself was basically a deep fried hockey puck of raw dough inside with thin shreds of crab mixed in. I could only manage two bites. The jalapeño sauce it was served with was rather good, but it contained large chunks of tomatoes that made it terrible for dipping. It was definitely a mixed experience as my husband's food was rather good but my kids refused to eat more than a few bites of theirs. I'm sure others have had a great experience but we would probably not go out of our way to go again.

Staff were nice but the food was not. The grilled tilapia was fine but the baked tilapia was not very moist. I know it was stupid to order crab cakes in a land locked state but I did and there was hardly any crab in them. More like a large hush puppy. Server came around once asking about our food and after one person said hers was ok, the server left before I could say anything about my food. I took 2 bites out of my meal of 2 crab cakes and that was all. The busser came to clear the table and I complained about the meal to him. I was still charged for my meal ($27) and no one came to listen to my problems about the meal. I was with a bunch of girlfriends so not wanting to ruin the evening , I just paid the bill and left. Will not be going here again. They already have enough of my money.

We ordered the watt notts for the appetizer and they were good. My husband got the rib eye steak and was very disappointed, it was flavorless. I ordered the salmon and had to send it back, it was under cooked as was the asparagus. We were seated in a really awkward corner squished behind people and it was entirely to loud.

We were in town for a girls weekend at an area resort. We have heard great things about this place so after looking at the menu online we decided to give it a try. Their website stated that they have “COVID inspired seating”. When we arrived, none of the staff were wearing masks and we were less than a foot from two other tables. The wait staff seemed to judge us because we arrived and wore masks until we sat at our table. Prior to starting a woman came up to us and took a photo without asking. Then processed to ask all of our first AND last names then spelled them into her recording on her phone. Really strange and unnecessary. We ordered The Artichoke as an appetizer. It was undercooked. The stuffed shrimp were blank and tad a mound of paprika on each one. Overall did not live up to my expectations for a nice dinner experience.

If you make a reservation request to eat in the bar area because if seated anywhere else it’s too loud! Food is nothing to brag about I would say it’s subpar. Food tasted like it was bought at Sam’s or Costco. The tossed salad was the best item of the meal.

S
Shelbi Hilton

After reading most of the other reviews, I was exited to try this place. I will have to say highly disappointed. My husband and I both got the KC strip steak, mine was ok, not great, but not horrible. My husbands on the other hand was completely not edible. It was mushy and watery. I tried a bite and didn’t even want to swallow it. The place definitely needs a good cleaning. I would not recommend eating here unless you want to pay a lot of money for very flavorless food.
