Such a great experience, having lunch with the locals. It was lunch time, so all tables were full. However, the owner moved some tables around and brought another table from the terrace, to accommodate us. They have a daily menu with 3 choices of first course and 3 choices of second course. Delicios traditional food, great authentic atmosphere.

We visited this FAMILY restaurant many time s during our week stay in Laveno. It started with looking for Hot Chocolate “Chocolata Calda GRANDE!” We had brioches with chocolate or marmalade then other meals we had the special of the day which was always posted on the sign outside. I must says the we got to meet the WHOLE family and they were all EXCEPTIONALLY friendly. We did not have to pay in advance they just seemed to know what we had and we paid with out ANY remorse. We got to meet the “Couka” and she taught me a few words in Italian while I helped her with English. Frankly she was pretty good without my help. We shared wine with them and they were all EXCEPTIONALLY very happy to take pictures with us. They teased my friend when he would order a cappuccino to go for his wife. SO friendly we will definitely go back when we return! Laveno is very walkable and safe. Barlafüs is so fun and great food. They made us feel like we were part of their family. It doesn’t get any better than that!!!

Can't say enough good things about this neighborhood gem. Family owned and operated, this is a great spot to get morning coffee and brioche or come for lunch. Be sure to spend some time visiting with the friendly patrons and you'll learn why Laveno is so special.

One of the best bars in Laveno, excellent for breakfast or lunch. A popular spot for many locals, especially those over 40. Friendly and helpful staff. There's only one table outside, overlooking the roundabout.

Rosa dal Lago

Barlafüs is a short distance from the touristical zone of Laveno, and it's a really good place to enjoy the genius simplicity of delicious Italian food. They have ever changing specials and we had octopus salad, gnocchi and ravioli, followed up by coffee and meringata. All of it made me happy. Service was also good and friendly, and the prizes also left no complaints. Highly recommended.

A simple place, but don't be fooled by its appearance. Inside, you'll be greeted with warmth and kindness. You'll find a clean environment and attentive staff ready to cater to your every need. The food is delicious, with several choices on the set lunch menu, including vegetarian options. The portions are generous. There were six of us plus a dog, and even though we hadn't booked, they found us a table right away. We tried several dishes on the menu, including pasta with venison ragù, gnocchi with gorgonzola and peppers for the first course, and scallops and stew for the second course. The side dishes are also very good. The desserts are excellent to finish off; I particularly enjoyed the chocolate cake with a dark chocolate center and the salted caramel cheesecake. We paired our lunch with an excellent house wine. The price is excellent for the quality and quantity: first course, second course, side dish, water, wine, and coffee for about €20 each. 100% recommended.
