Opinions de Jounetsu Ramen Long Beach
Good ramen, tastes authentic. Will come back in the area to try more food
For the main course, I went with the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen, and it did not disappoint. The broth was rich, creamy, and packed with umami, while the spice level gave it a nice kick without overpowering the deep pork flavor. The noodles were perfectly chewy, and the chashu was tender and flavorful. I also tried the pork bowl and salmon bowl, and both were solid choices. The pork bowl had juicy, well-seasoned pork over fluffy rice, making for a comforting bite every time. The salmon bowl stood out with its fresh, high-quality salmon that melted in my mouth. The service was friendly and efficient, and the overall vibe of the restaurant was welcoming. Definitely a spot I’d recommend for ramen lovers and anyone craving a great Japanese meal!
10000% recommend this place for Ramen. It was absolutely amazing. I'm a flight attendant and I always look for good places to get food on my layovers. Sooo good. I will definitely come back when I have another LGB overnight!
The broth was unbelievable! Sooo creamy n tasty!! Our new Ramen place!
Came here after seeing an ad about their 5 year anniversary promotion. We came at around 8 pm on a weekday. The place isn't the most spacious, so there was a waitlist going on where you can signify a preference whether you want inside, outside, or any seating. We were eventually seated shortly. The menu had a variety of options, but we both went for the spicy tonkotsu ramen. It tasted pretty standard, not bad, but also nothing special. If you're craving ramen, it's a place you can come to satisfy it. Service was decent, but it could've been a little better. It did take a long time for us to be given our waters. Overall, cool ramen place.
Great food! Seen a video on youtube recommending this restaurant. I'm glad I went. The broth is to die for and very rich with flavor. I got a spicy tonkotsu with extra pork and added tofu and an order of calamari. The calamari was crazy on the outside and soft on the inside as it should be with good flavor. All n all I would definitely recommend this for any occasion
The best ramen I have tried, broth is tasty and well seasoned, meat is so tender that melts in your mouth, the appetizers are great and they have lunch specials that are very affordable. The only hard part was to find parking and the place is small but they have excellent service!
My bff and I walked in late afternoon on a Sunday and we were seated right away. We dined outside and had the ramen with hot sake ( half price Happy hour on the sake )mine was Chicken and hers was pork belly and both were delicious.
If I could give more stars I would! This place has been on my list for a bit. I pass it all the time and I’m surprised they’re not busier! I got the cucumber salad and the salmon poke bowl. I’ve had a few poke around LBC but this place has definitely moved to the top of my list. The cucumber salad was also really tasty (a bit spicy but good wasabi kinda way). Definitely coming back for the same thing and ramen eventually! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
We kinda got there 20 minutes to closing time (straight from the airport-LAX) we found this gem 5 minutes away from where we were staying. Staff still greeted us (party of 8) with a smile and served us cheerfully! Menu was pretty straight forward...price is ok to me...place is very cozy. Food was great! Whole experience was very memorable specially after coming from -25 *C weather. Thanks!
Very good ramen. Got the spicy tonkotsu with added black garlic. Broth is very very good. The spicy definitely packed a punch, so if you don't do spicy just get the regular. It came with a big slab of tender pork belly which was a good portion with the bowl. Indoor seating is a bunch of small tables, I would not come here with a big group. Outdoor seating has tables that can seat up to 4. Place is nice, clean, simple and bright. No clutter. Service was good staff was friendly. Definitely coming back.
Looking for a good place for Ramen and a cold beer, you can't go wrong here. The service was quick, the food hot and the beer cold. The parking is street and can't be tight, but it's free. We enjoyed what we order and looking to come back and try their other dishes as they look amazing and fresh.

Smallish restaurant, but super delicious food. Perfectly flavored Ramen!!! Numerous visits later and it's consistently wonderful. Slight challenge finding street parking at times, but always successful within a block.

We dined here about two weeks ago, and I ordered the Pork Tongkatsu Ramen. It was surprisingly good! The portions are generous, but I do find the $6 charge for extra soup on the side a bit steep.
I was craving a mixed vegetable tempura which they didn’t have, but Crispy Shiitake Mushrooms was recommended. It was soooooo good! Will be back for more soon, as it’s a seasonal item.

As far as ramen goes... it's decent. Don't expect Sawtelle/Little Tokyo-style quality from this tiny LB joint, but if you're having a craving for ramen it will hit the spot. Service was phenominally polite.
Consistent food quality and portions. Clean and the tables have enough space to order multiple things (unlike Yard House). I live near here so I walk and for that reason I know the parking situation is not the restaurants fault. It's very difficult to find parking so I recommend carpooling. The broths have plenty of flavor, the meat is not thin. I recommend for parties up to 4 since the restaurant usually has people dining in. Overall I hope this restaurant survives the economy since it's worth wanting a restaurant experience.

Jounetsu Ramen – Stylish Spot, But Underwhelming Value in Long Beach Located along a lively street in a popular Long Beach neighborhood, Jounetsu Ramen draws attention with its stylish decor and broad menu. The welcoming staff provided both the regular menu and a seasonal special menu, which was a thoughtful touch. I opted for the seasonal "Ramennetti", a fusion-style dish featuring thick noodles, a creamy sauce with cheese, and toppings like thin bacon slices, parsley, and an onsen egg. Unfortunately, the dish was underwhelming. The onsen egg came fully solid instead of soft and runny as expected, stripping the dish of the richness and texture that a proper onsen egg should add. The bacon was minimal, the lack of vegetables or protein variety made the dish feel incomplete, and the portion was small for its $17 price tag. It leaned more toward an experimental pasta than a satisfying ramen. Still hungry, I ordered a Salmon Poke Bowl with marinated salmon, mixed greens, seaweed, crispy wonton pieces, and mayo sauce. While the rice portion was generous, the toppings were sparse and underwhelming, making me feel that I’d have been better off at a dedicated poke shop. The menu offers many choices—ramen, sushi, rolls, sides—but overall, the pricing is high, and quality doesn't quite match. The food feels more like a concept than a fully realized experience. On the plus side, the interior is sleek and modern, with Japanese-inspired artwork, a cozy bar, and a pet-friendly patio where customers were happily dining with their dogs.
If you're in the mood for a quick and easy ramen fix in Downtown Long Beach, this spot might just hit the spot. I recently stopped by for a bowl, and while it didn't knock my socks off, it certainly did the job. The ramen here is pretty much run of the mill - nothing to write home about, but nothing to complain about either. The broth was decent, noodles were cooked just right, and the toppings were standard fare. It's the kind of place where you know exactly what to expect, which can be comforting in its own way. If you're a local or find yourself in the area with a ramen craving, it's a convenient option to satisfy that urge without any fuss. Overall, while it may not be the most exciting or innovative ramen joint around, it gets the job done if you're looking for a no-frills bowl of noodles in Downtown Long Beach.

Absolutely wild to throw an attitude at a customer wanting to cancel their order when they’ve been waiting for over 40min for two small appetizers. Even more rude to keep lying and saying it’s coming/packed when you haven’t even started the order. I ordered a 4 piece sushi and 6 wings, not a difficult order. Looked at my email timestamp, canceled at the 50min mark. It was busy but there were empty tables and people were sat and already in the middle of their meal. I waited long enough for two tables to finish their meals and they haven’t even fired my order. Saw another guy try to cancel his order 15 min before I did. Two other customers left outright bc they wanted takeaway but we were told to wait outside and never took their order. The food isn’t worth the price, but the flavor is decent. Like fast food ramen. I’ve eaten here a few times and I don’t think the pork is fresh but the seasoning masks it. The eggs are hard boiled when it should be soft. I don’t think some of the reviewers have ever eaten legit ramen…
Absolutely disgusting. I don’t even know where to begin. The food was cold, bland, and looked like it had been sitting out for hours — or maybe days. I’ve had gas station sandwiches that tasted better. The meat was dry as cardboard, and the vegetables were soggy and weirdly slimy. Honestly, I wouldn’t feed this to a stray dog. The service? Nonexistent. Took forever to get anyone’s attention, and when they finally did show up, they acted like I was bothering them just by being there. The whole place smelled like a mix of burnt oil and mop water. Disgusting. If you’re thinking about eating here — don’t. Just… don’t. Save your stomach the trauma.
Honestly there food is not that bad, but what I didn’t like is the customer service they provided, they were very rude and didn’t even pass by my table not once to make sure if we needed anything eles. And don’t get me started with the aditude they were so rude like if I was bothering them or something. There was this one girl who I really liked I didn’t get her name but she looked about 16 years old and she was the ONLY person working hard attending people while the rest of the other coworkers were just standing in the kitchen and just laughing while she was serving most of the food. I came again to visit hoping she would be there, I haven’t seen her so far but I’m hoping she is still around there because I really enjoyed the customer service she provided she looks like a hard working person. She was very kind to my table and others.
