Opinions de Thunderbolt Pizza Long Beach
I’m trying their pizza for the first time, and I’m already planning to come back! It was absolutely amazing. I got to try the BBQ and Dr. West Prerequisite pizzas, and both were fantastic and delicious. I also tried their hot wings, which were so flavorful. And don’t miss their garlic knots—they’re a must-try!
Great local spot. Fresh made pizzas to order. Order at the front and grab a table. Very much like a real pizza joint which is awesome. Serves beer and wine both by glass and bottle. Small parking lot available but plenty of local street parking as well.
Love this place, we had the Italian sandwich and onion rings. The sandwich uses pizza dough instead of bread. The onion rings batter was golden brown crispy and light. Ordering was easy at the front counter and food came quick. Nice patio. Servers were very helpful, smiling as they did their jobs. Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed.
Stopped by for a quick and cheap bite before getting a tattoo in Long Beach. We got a 10 inch 3 topping pizza and the mortadella sandwich. Everything was so good and fresh. They even make their own ranch!
Best pizza in Long Beach with an incredibly diverse menu with different things like wings and nuggets, pastas, salads, sub sandwiches and a popular appetizer called oregano fries. warm people and overall a great place to hang out with anyone. Big tv inside near bar and occasionally play music from a live band as well as play mixed playlists of different popular music genres. Everything is fresh and hand made. Been coming here for years.
Wow, just wow! This pizza was a slice of heaven. The crust was the kind that you dream about - crispy, slightly charred, with that perfect chewy bite. It was like they took every element of what makes pizza great and cranked it up to eleven. The sauce was a revelation, with a depth of flavor that danced between sweet and savory, perfectly complementing the toppings. Speaking of toppings, they were so fresh and well-balanced, each one playing its part in this culinary symphony. The cheese? Melty, stringy, and with that golden hue that screams comfort food at its finest. But beyond the taste, the whole experience was heartwarming. Whether it was the cozy vibe of the restaurant or the care taken in packaging for takeout, every aspect was executed with love. This isn't just pizza; it's a celebration of good food, made with passion. If you haven't tried it yet, do yourself a favor and go - your taste buds will thank you.
Place is 10/10. I was sold as soon as they said, "we have cauliflower crust pizza!"... Experience: we had the cauliflower pizza, which was delicious. The cesar salad is a big portion for 2 and very good. The wings, Omg! To die for. Lastly, they are pet friendly, which made me so happy. Staff are too kind and very friendly. Simon (pet) and I will be returning back.
Amazing that you can get both authentic thin crust well source ingredients. And more importantly to me vegan and vegetarian options. Having pepperoni pizza is something that we in past have dreamed of and now it's a reality in the setting that has both vegetarian vegan and non-vegetarian options. The dough is classic ingredients speak for themselves. You can peel up a slice and see how the oven is at the proper temperature to achieve both crispy crust and a light and fluffy interior. Definitely grab a pie with a hot honey and pepperoni.
Visited for the first time on Saturday afternoon. The service was amazing. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Food was delicious and it came out fast. The variety of seasonings they offer for your pizza is fantastic. (No basic red pepper flakes here!) I definitely recommend this place. We ordered 1 Gluten Free Pizza, 1 Regular Pizza, Ceasar Salad, and mozzarella sticks. Everything was tasty.

Really like the owner Jay. He's from New York and knows what it takes to make the best pizza .Top quality very deluxe pizza. Just had the Italian sandwich for lunch. Its bread is made out of the pizza dough which makes a fantastic sandwich

Amazing pizza and the hand deliver to ambitious ales next door which is awesome. Highly recommend both!
The atmosphere is fantastic. The people are great and they have the best options for pizza!! Different variety, different style and many options a for all types of people!! Loved our Bixby Butcher. The people are extremely helpful when you are trying to decide what to get and what to eat! The history behind the place is great and we appreciate the work that the owner has done!!
So, this establishment is fantastic. It's a great place to enjoy a game, bring friends...even a great date spot. The food, service and atmosphere is legit. My guy Enzo and the team will always ensure your time there is the best time. Treat yourself to this excellent spot. I know it's recommended to show pics, but we crushed our order so no sense in showcasing an empty box lol.
I had a great experience at Thunderbolt Pizza! The manager, Kristy, was super nice and polite, making us feel really welcome. The pizza and hot wings were both delicious, and to top it off, they’ve got beer on draft. Definitely recommend!
The food is superb. Best Pizza in the South Bay area. Thin crust cooked to perfection and the taste keeps you coming back! A must try while in the Long Beach and surrounding area's!
Came here once and I’ve been coming back ever since. If you’re in the area, this spot is a must-try. The pizza is authentic, made fresh to order, and always hits the spot. Sweet and Spicy is one of my favorites. Service is consistently friendly, which makes the experience even better.
This spot quickly became one of my go-to pizza places! The crust is perfectly crisp on the outside and soft inside, and the sauce has that perfect tangy flavor that tastes homemade. 🍅🍕 The staff was super friendly and my order came out fast, even during the dinner rush. The vibe inside is casual and welcoming — great for a quick bite with friends or family. Highly recommend trying the spicy pizza! it’s chef’s kiss! 👌🏽✨
Thunderbolt Pizza absolutely brings their A-game — especially when the rest of the city has decided bedtime is 9:47 pm (a tragedy for pizza, and humanity, honestly). Finding a legit pizza spot open past 10 pm on a Friday night shouldn’t feel like a struggle, yet here we are. Thunderbolt understands pizza stays open late. This is a late-night, social pizza place but also open during other hours I’m just specifically mentioning late night eats. The kind where you linger, talk loud, and order another pie just because you can. Their specialty pizzas are genuinely fun — creative combos, bold flavors, and that “who thought of this and why does it work?” energy. Sauce? Great. Cheese? Great. Spices? Playful and confident. No notes there. Now… the dough. The dough showed up a little underdressed for the party. It wasn’t bad — just bland and a bit flat, like it forgot it was supposed to be the foundation of the whole experience. When everything on top is this exciting, the crust needs to bring some personality to the relationship. That said, Thunderbolt still wins for vibe, creativity, and staying open when the people need pizza most. Fix the dough and this place becomes dangerous in the best way. Late night pizza deserves ambition — and Thunderbolt has it ⚡️🍕
Was super excited to try this for the first time. Date night, but we stayed in. Tried online to order for pick up, 7pm wasn’t available so I called, they must have been busy because it took like 5 calls, they were able to accommodate 8pm pick up (1 hour later than planned but that’s ok), when we went to pick it up it was packed! Pumping. Looks like a fun place to eat at! Also it happened to be 1st Friday so they had that big community event. One of these days we’ll check it out. When we got home I was disappointed to see the pizza was kinda burnt, mostly just the crust but still. It was yummy. Will have to give it another chance and eat the pizza while it’s hot at the restaurant with the atmosphere.
We were visiting from out of town and we were craving pizza and decided to try Thunderbolt Pizza because of the high praise it got. We were not very impressed with the food we received nor the service. We got a BBQ chicken pizza and a white pizza with mushroom, sausage, and tomatoes. Personally I thought the BBQ chicken pizza was fairly good, but the white sauce pizza lacked in flavor. I will say the crust was extremely good though! Overall, the pizza wasn't anything incredible, but it was pretty good nonetheless. The BBQ Chicken, I would give a 4 star, but the white pizza was around a 3 star, so I would overall give the food a 3.5 stars out of 5. The customer service was not the best when we were there. It seemed like the staff who would come over to certain tables would favor certain people over others. For example, a staff member would come and fill another tables water, but never once offered to do it for us. I was under the assumption that you had to fill your own water as the water was accessible to customers, so that was what I did. However, it was kind of odd seeing them fill up others cups continuously while skipping other tables entirely. They also seemed to show a more friendly demeanor to other tables compared to us as well. Maybe they could tell that we weren't from California or something, but it just felt like we were the black sheep here and it had us leaving with frustration as it felt like we did something wrong, when all we did was come and eat a couple of pizzas and paid like everyone else.
Came in for a pick up order, place seem to be busy at the time, ordered a pepperoni pizza with hot honey, and garlic knots, simple order. Came in at 8:30, order was ready by 9pm placed at 7pm. Got a text order was ready at 8:45pm. Pizza was kinda burned or over cooked, not enough hot honey. Garlic knots were also kinda over cooked. Atmosphere of place seems like it was really busy but lot of people just standing around for it being busy. Overall 3/5 service was ok, and food was ok as well.
Pizzas are good but prices are steep. We had a plain cheese pizza ($12), 10” sweet & spicy $20, and a Butcher pizza (sausage and pepperoni) $28. Employees were friendly but service was slow. Two pizzas came out and we were half done before the third (plain cheese) came out. Crust on the sweet & spicy was burnt - I watched the staff. They were talking and it stayed in the oven too long. The flavor of the sweet and spicy was pretty good. I added some reaper pepper to it to kick it up a notch. Outdoor tables had space heaters but it was still pretty chilly. Indoor area is small but the extended patio has wind protection and heaters making it comfortable to dine. Even at 8:30pm there was a decent crowd.

Got pizza "to go" earlier tonite. Ordered half Marguerite & half sausage. May never order again!! Needed a magnifying glass to find the sausage, & barely any cheese. Only mistake I made was not looking at it before took it home. The wife had to add mozzarella at home so we could have cheese on the pizza. To make matters worse, it cost me $30.00 + change. Crust on edges ok, but rest was so soggy couldn't pick it up without a utensil.

Order a Hawaiian Pizza. The pizza bearly had any ham, pineapple or cheese. Never had a pizza like this. Call to let them know, answer give: " that is the way we make pizza. I can ask the cook IF he WANTS to redo it. " Worst customer service. NEVER GOING TO THIS PLACE IN LONG BEACH, CA I was never ask, if I wanted a refund.
Customer Service here is terrible. The wait times are out of control. The wait is always an hour or more for a pie or a slice. Ive been here several times, the pizza is good but for the wait and the price don’t waste your time or money. Also if you do order order a whole pie. The slices are comically small. Never eating here again
