Opinions de Fuyu Ramen Long Island City
I came in around 6pm on a Sunday and it was already packed. The establishment is relatively small but was quickly seated for solo dining. I ordered the Spicy Miso and substituted the ground pork with char siu (which was at no additional charge!) Wow, the char siu was incredibly tender, perfectly fatty, and smokey at the same time. The half soft boiled egg had a lovely pre-marinated taste. The touch of saffron did not go unnoticed! The broth itself was a smidge on the salty side and not very spicy at all. Loved the umami combo of the whole dish and would recommend!
Small, woefully understaffed, diamond in the roughs of Queens Boulevard. The tsukemen was refreshing and the accompanying shoyu broth was flavorful. The tonkotsu was rich but not overly so. The straight noodles were cooked perfectly as were the chashu and eggs. They have a good selection of beers and sake to pair with their very tasty appetizers. The only con is that there was only one server on the Sunday afternoon we visited. Although he was doing his best he was overwhelmed by the time we left.
Staff are very very nice, food is amazing, very clean too. 10/10 would recommend to come here.
Every single thing we ordered was fantastic and super delicious. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Ambiance and music very calm and nice. Would give 10 stars if I could!
FUYU RAMEN and SAKE is a staple of Sunnyside, Queens and their menu is extraordinary. Highly recommend trying the Baby Ribs and the Kara-age. Very chill vibes. Great flavorful food.
One of my fav ramens ever so flavorful give them all your money it’s worth it!!!
This afternoon was my first time visiting and definitely will not my last. I ordered the traditional Tonkatsu Ramen. It was amazing!@ The broth was extremely rich and flavorful. The ramen cooked perfectly. Even the egg was really tasty, and I'm not a big egg person. Restaurant was extremely clean, with simple decor. Its not a very large restaurant, but it's not a shoebox like a lot of other NYC restaurants. I estimate it could accommodate about 18- 20 people. Service is outstanding. I don't know the name of my server but they were very very attentive and kind. I visited this Saturday afternoon ( between 2-3) and it wasn't crowded at all. I truly look forward to visiting again.
Mild broth, very nice containers... The small spoon in the pepper vessel was delightful! Never got to try the spicy miso - but I was never a corn in the ramen kind of guy; I really liked the ambience and staff was pleasent. I've had my share of the ramen in NYC and after finishing my bowl I ask myself, is this as good as a morymoto bowl? I respond; it's on par, well done chef.
Love the decor of this place and a very welcomed addition to the neighborhood! The tonkotsu ramen is a good choice.... there’s a kick as it’s going down your throat. The pork bun is good. The soft shell crab bun is a novelty something to try but not good enough to get over and over. The wasabi raw octopus is very chewy. It wasn’t bad but also won’t be getting it again. The gyozas are really good!
One of the best ramen I have had so far in NYC. I sadly wasn’t too hungry when we visited this place so I got the pork burger just to see what it was about. It was ok. The burger had a sweet sauce and just needed more seasoning in the actual pork patty. But the ramen was TO DIE for. Absolutely delicious, filled with flavor. I will definitely be going again and only getting the ramen!!! Side note: servers were super attentive, polite and friendly. The place was super clean, the music fit the restaurants theme and just a perfect place for dinner!
Amazing spot. Beyond the incredible ramen, Fuyu offers a cozy atmosphere and the friendliest staff around. Can’t wait to be back!
Fuyu Ramen is now one of our favorite ramen spots. The highlight of this restaurant is its budget-friendly menu, especially its top notch weekday lunch specials, all the while still serving up great ramen. The attentiveness of the staff is also really good, they kept checking up on our table to make sure we were taken care of and that we liked our food. The restaurant space is interesting because while it is a kind of small, they designed the layout in such a way that it still feels open and can fit a decent number of people (without feeling like you’re breathing down other peoples’ necks). I ordered the tantan ramen, pork buns, and red kimchi (the kimchi is a little bit on the spicier side, FYI!) The food came out quickly and tasted fresh. Even if you’re not feeling up to a ramen bowl, they have plenty of non-ramen entrees for your liking. Overall, the food is good and the prices are even better. In NYC, that’s tough to find, highly recommend!
I FREAKING LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!! I eat here almost every day. The food is delicious and the staff is so nice Steve is so sweet. If your looking for delicious Ramen STOP LOOKING, YOU'VE FOUND IT!!!!! The ribs are amazing as well, definitely fall off the bone status!!!! The restaurant is SUPER clean, the music is always so relaxing and just an overall vibe.
Outstanding ramen and small plates in Sunnyside. Started with the shrimp tempura and gyoza, perfectly cooked, non-sticky with a nice crunchy bottom. Tried the Spicy Miso chicken broth, I like the ground pork very much and it has a kick! For desserts, we enjoyed the matcha cheesecake - perfect blend of flavor, texture and not too sweet. Goes well with our favorite Junmai Ginjo sake. Angela and Sunny are awesome! Seated us quickly and very attentive. Will be back again!
This was my first time here, and the experience was wonderful from the attentive service to the delicious food. My daughter enjoyed her Ramen soup, and my Portobello mushroom veggie burger was amazing!! The sweet potato fries were a delicious wonderful surprise at a Ramen restaurant. The fries come with maple syrup, but I preferred dipping my fries in the amazing house sauce that came with my veggie burger!!
The seafood ramen was delicious! My favorite’s the vegetable bun. The softshell crab bun was also tasty. The sauce added to the bun made it more flavorful. Taco wasabi was excellent. Shishito pepper was well prepared with a nice dipping sauce on the side. It’s one of the best ramen places. I’ll be back for more! The place is clean and comfortable. There are high tables and chairs, regular tables and chairs, and nice window seats for 3-4 people to look out the window while eating ramen! Btw they’ve added lunch specials! It includes noodle soup and poke bowl, and salad. Awesome!
I have been coming to Fuyu ever since I had a friend move to Sunnyside and I’ve become a regular there. It’s become “our spot” and it hasn’t let us down. If you look at my reviews I am a ramen connoisseur, and I have to say I just love this spot. This particular time I snagged the lunch special, which got me Tonkotsu Ramen and Chashu Pork rice bowl for $17. It was pretty filling and very savory, which I love, especially the pork in the rice bowl. One thing I don’t particularly love is how oily the ramen sometimes is but it’s nothing unbearable. I am a BIG fan of the noodle type they use, which is a very big plus for me. In the past I’ve had chicken Shio Ramen and Karaage chicken bao, all of which I love. If you ever hop off the 7 train on 46th and Bliss, this is the place to go! Also, I am a HUGE fan of the aesthetic and how clean it always smells in there. I sometimes can smell the cleaning product when it’s a little emptier, and it makes my cleanliness heart so happy.
A group of us went on Wednesday around 6:30pm and the whole place got filled pretty quickly. They have a big communal table, bar style tables with high chairs, and seating area for groups. Appetizers are above excellent- wings are crispy and buns are beyond great. I also tried their croquettes which was so crunchy. Ramen was yummy with clean tasting broth (not too heavy or greasy) - spicy ramen is a must try! And Poke is... please try their poke bowl. It is really good (with wasabi aioli)! It is a good go to place in the neighborhood!
The food was amazing, our waiter (lovely lady) recommended a great sparkling drink that tasted amazing, and she was very kind to show my daughter different ways that she could eat her ramen. Can’t wait to go back ☺️
I Visited this Thai food spot in Sunnyside and I had a great experience. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. We tried the funnel cake fries dessert, and they were really good. Prices are very affordable, and the portions are generous with great flavor. The place is small, so sometimes you may have to share a large table or sit at smaller tables, but it’s totally worth it.
Soooo thankful for google reviews because this place had great reviews and great pictures. I gave it a shot and now I can’t stop thinking about it. I wanted to take a picture but it was so good i forgot to do so. I got the veggie spicy miso. 100/10!
I came to Fuyu Ramen for the ramen, but I discovered the absolute perfect beer-pairing strategy! If you are grabbing a Kirin Ichiban, you have to order these two side dishes: the Kara-age and the Smashed Cucumber Salad. They are deliciously contradictory. The Kara-age is that classic, perfectly crispy Japanese fried chicken that everyone loves with a beer. But then you have the Smashed Cucumber—it’s pickled in a spicy oil and topped with fresh sprouts, giving you a sharp, refreshing kick. I found that rotating between the two—one savory and hot, one spicy and cold—was the best way to enjoy the crisp, light lager. Truly a perfect meal!
My mom and I have come to this place and ordered many foods there like shishito pepper, avocado salad, and two bowls of Champon (seafood ramen). The food there were wonderful and tasty, and the service was wonderful. The atmosphere was that there were people eating, waiters were busy and others.
The best ramen! Been coming for over four years. The poke bowls and all appetizers delicious as well. My only feedback is that the service is too quick (entrees always come out when you’re still eating appetizer). Will really miss this place when I move in a few weeks!
Truly some of the best ramen i’ve had in the city! I’m so lucky to be living so close to this place the last 3 years, but have been coming here before the move. I HIGHLY recommend any of their ramens, and their soft shell crab bao bun is one of the best buns i’ve had period. Lovely staff and atmosphere! You will not regret stopping by😊
Have had many wonderful experiences at this place. Food is phenomenal, and the drinks are very good. i order the Tonkotsu Ramen with a Mint yuzu (i think that's the name) and it never fails to fulfill me and my family. Amazing service, they are such nice people and they always try their best to make the customer experience the best it can be. Absolute gem of a location. Edit 11/12/2025: I went recently this weekend, can still confidently say that service, food and everything about this place is a masterclass of what a restaurant should be. If you ever want good quality ramen, I heavily suggest you visit this location.
Been here several times at this point, and I am never disappointed. The perfect casual, cozy spot. The service is always on point and the food is unreal. As the name would suggest, ramen is a must. (The spicy tonkatsu is a personal fave.) I must recommend saving room for the yuzu cheesecake as well. **One note of caution. Some of the sake they serve is actually pretty strong! So be careful if you go for lunch and you don't want to get too tipsy! (The sake is super tasty though!!)
Really good bowl of Shio Ramen with generous toppings, it’s a great find in Sunny Side. The broth was well made and seasoned, clean but flavorful. A garnish of spinach lent a nice earthiness which rounded out the ramen really well. Noodles had a nice springy texture and curl which I preferred. A nice cold beer with this really hits the spot
Just had an unforgettable meal at Fuyu Ramen. The Tonkatsu Ramen was a savory delight, featuring a broth that was the perfect balance of saltiness and soy sauce flavor. The chashu was succulent and flavorful, not dry like at some other places. They also nailed the ramen egg, cooking it perfectly to complement the soup. The Takoyaki was another standout. The brown fried balls were crispy on the outside while maintaining a juicy tenderness inside. While I would have loved more than just the four they serve, each one was a burst of flavor that kept me wanting more. The Small Pokebowl was exactly what you'd hope for. The raw fish was served at a warm temperature, which I appreciated, and the balance of flavors and seasoning was spot on. But the star of the show, surprisingly, was the Yuzu Lemon Beverage Mint. This fizzy drink was incredibly refreshing, especially after a hot day. The chunks of pickled lemon and minty freshness made this more than just a beverage, but an experience in itself. Aside from the great food, the service was top-notch and the restaurant's atmosphere was cozy and comfortable, feeling almost like a home away from home. A pleasant surprise was the separate sink for hand-washing, which shows their attention to detail. I highly recommend Fuyu Ramen for anyone seeking an exceptional Japanese dining experience.
A quaint homey feeling restaurant with great quick service and delicious food. The Japanese fried chicken was the crunchiest most perfectly cooked chicken I have had it pared well with the mayo side. Takoyaki was amazing I would order it regularly. My wife had cold ramen it was very delicious and refreshing. The shrimp was perfectly crispy in it. The cold noodles and sesame dressing paired well with the tomato, peppers, onions and avocado. As for the main I had Tonkatsu the word to describe is wow. Really enjoyed the marinated egg and pork. I will be a regular here it’s that good. Definitely try it.
They told me tonkotsu and spicy miso is the popular ramen, so i took tonkotsu . It was not too greezy like other restaurants, which i liked. Also they put Takana, which cannot be missed but many of ramen restaurant dont put it. Tonkotsu must have Takana. Looking forward trying other ramen there.
This place is brand new and off to a great start. The tonkatsu ramen was good. Not excellent, but a bit above average. I personally thought the broth was good but could have used a little more punch. The pork also was good but lacked an exciting punch. Taiyo near 52nd st subway station is cheaper and has more punch in my opinion. That being said it was still good, and I would go again. The chicken wings where great, they had a great hint of mint. The takoyaki was really good too. The outer dough was semi crunchy with the inner being more baked and firm. The octopus inside was good but could have used a little more fish flakes, mayo, and sauce on top. TLDR: A good start with room to improve. In the meantime, I will gladly join them on the ride.
Very solid ramen shop for a good price. Ordered the tako wasabi (raw octopus) and kaarage and both were delicious. Would highly recommend the octopus if you like sashimi. Ordered the tonkatsu ramen as my main and the broth was very flavourful. It comes with a generous amount of wood ear mushroom and a very well seasoned mirin egg.
The place feels small but also spacious at the same time, you can fit your party of people right in! They serve a large bowl that leaves you very full (as expected) so we were full by the time we had other meals. The ramen was good as it was tender and the broth was flavorful as well. Compared to other ramen shops and their prices, this place's pricing is alright and would for sure come back for lunch.
Coming every week, noodle is super nice and weekday service is great. Today is the first time I have lunch in weekend, the girl looks irritable I got bad experience there. No greeting, no bye bye. Didn’t show me the menu, no refill water. It makes me feel they want me ate, paid and leave Still paid $20 for a spicy ramen, don’t say about low tips, maybe I’m wearing labor cloth so I shouldn’t dine in
Cute place, always busy but moving. We went for ramen on a very cold NYC day and it was good but the broth lacked depth. This is compared to the best ramen restaurents out there - it is a 3/5 in terms of flavor but with atmostpher and the kind staff make it a comfortable spot if you really need some ramen!
I got the lunch special—Chicken Shio ramen with a small poke bowl. Everything was tasty and well worth the price, but funnily enough, my favorite part was actually their baek kimchi side dish. They put a slight twist on the traditional version by adding a bit of mustard, and I really liked it. My husband got the tonkotsu ramen with a small chashu don, and once again, I found myself enjoying the small details—like the sesame dressing on the house salad. I guess it’s those little touches that make a restaurant stand out and feel special.
Doing all the right things but not quite hitting the marks, yet. Almost nothing beats a bowl ramen during winter. Before that, the prelude was sweet potatoes fries and fried kaki (oyster). The sweet potatoes fries were crispy and definitely something worth to have a drink with. I’m happy with a deep bowl that kept the fries warm for longer. Fried kaki was a nice surprise as well, juicy and meaty. Here comes where I think there’s room for growth, their tonkotsu ramen. It was with all the right ingredients and fresh noodles, and the soup base could’ve been more rich with the tonkotsu flavor, perhaps a personal preference. Nevertheless, I think their highlight was the chashu. Super. Great portion. Probably unmatched and top ranked among all ramen restaurants in NYC. Not only it has a nice grill mark and flavor, it melts in your mouth. Lastly, the waitresses were super helpful and friendly, this is definitely a restaurant I will revisit again.
Had this place on my list for a while and finally I had the pleasure to eat here for dinner with my family. Amazing service, excellent food, lovely ambiance (very clean and organized bathrooms). Out of all the three different ramen we ordered the Chicken Shiro Ramen was our top and favorite one, amazing flavors, fresh and tasteful, full plate served with generous noodles we were very satisfied with the food here. Pork buns are probably the best I’ve had in a very long time and the Japanese style fried chicken absolutely mouthwatering, non greasy & extremely delicious. Only thing we did not like was the fact that their internet was down & only cash was accepted at the moment which delayed us from eating and we had to go find the bank to get some cash out other than that we will be back to try more from their menu.
Cold NYC night. No heat. Honestly, it was hard to concentrate on the food with how cold it was. Tables are hella close to each other side by side but far when sitting face to face. Not an intimate environment and cluttered areas take away the appeal. I would not go back.
Update: 2.27.26: I haven’t been back here since my last review. I wanted to love this place but the ramen isn’t up to my standards. While they improved their chasu the broth is so very one dimensional. It just needs a lot of flavor. The apps here still are very good. A nice restaurant with some slightly above average tasting ramen. While their ramen broth was nice, it isn’t as flavorful as taiyo marketplace on 52nd street. But fuyu ramen is above average then what you’d find in nyc. The broth isn’t salty either. I had the tonkatsu ramen and the pork was not seasoned. Very plain tasting. Their wings and takoyaki are pretty good too. If you want above average ramen come here. If you want some tasty appetizers, come here.
I would not recommend ordering from this restaurant on Seamless. Not only are the prices more expensive, the actual meat/fish in the orders are pathetically small. I’ve ordered a poke bowl and the spicy pork dish and both came with 80% rice and 20% protein. They have also recently raised prices again on seamless. It used to be good, I guess they’re just starting to cheap out on orders recently. Shame.
the ramen had too much fat and lacked flavor, we must also add that the service was lousy but I understand why, it was a single waitress for a restaurant almost full and apart from that she also had to take the takeout orders, I was expecting more from this restaurant based on the reviews I had seen online but was disappointed. my score was for the appetizer, we ordered takoyaki and they were delicious.
