Opinions de BCD Tofu House Los Angeles
Nestled in the heart of Ktown in Los Angeles . This place is busy and I understand why. The employees here work around the clock to produce amazing food and great customer experience The customer service is great, and the food is just as much a match I was recommended this place from a coworker, and I am glad that I took the time to visit. Keep up the good work I will return . Try them out Five stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Comparable to the best tofu houses in South Korea, BCD is well known even amongst Korean celebrities as a must visit when in LA. Visited here 5 times in my first week in LA. Have been many more times since, including introducing my Korean gf to the place. She also admitted to BCD being better than most Korean tofu houses and agreeing that it compares to the best places in Seoul. A must visit. Special mention to the Galbi set and the marinated raw crab set. I myself get the tripe and intestine tofu with danger level spicy, but the kimchi tofu is also quite good. My gf went with the seafood tofu which was also tasty. Go here. The one on Wilshire is better than the others.
Quality food, good portions, great prices. Banchan is delicious! Must try.
Plenty of parking, and even during busy hours the wait isn’t bad at all. You sign in through Yelp and get a text when your table is ready, which makes everything super convenient. I’ve been coming here for over a decade, and anything I order always hits the spot. I usually go for one of the combo meals — the portions are generous, and I almost always need a to-go box for leftovers. The side dishes are so good! I especially love their kimchi, and they’re more than happy to give you more if you ask. The staff are some of the friendliest around. If it’s your first time, I’d recommend browsing the menu while you wait since they do expect you to be ready to order fairly quickly.
What elevates this location to stellar is the incredible team. Ms. Gum Sin Kang and Yoon Hwa Jeong—your warmth, efficiency, and genuine care made our entire experience unforgettable. You remembered our spice preferences, kept the banchan flowing without missing a beat, and brought such positive energy to the table. It’s rare to find service that feels this personal in a busy spot, but you two make it happen every time. Thank you for treating every guest like family!
It's easy to see why it's so popular. We had about a 45-minute wait for dinner, but the waiting patio had outdoor heaters, which made it quite bearable. The restaurant has a lively, bustling atmosphere that feels authentic and inviting, perfect for a casual meal with friends or family. We ordered a few of their classic soondubu (soft tofu) stews, and each one was piping hot, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The tofu itself was silky and fresh, and the broths had that rich, comforting depth that makes you want to keep sipping. The banchan (side dishes) were plentiful, fresh, and varied, which always adds to the experience. The food was soo good that we went back the following day for lunch and tried their spicy raw crab (양념게장)—absolutely fresh and delicious, bursting with flavor. LA Galbi and seafood pancake were very good too. Service was friendly and attentive despite the busy environment, and our food came out quickly once we were seated. Plenty of parking spaces, which makes it convenient even during busy hours :)
This was my default tofu house for a while, during college and post college (unless I was doing some late night volunteering in the OC, in which Garden Grove BCD was my go to). I guess you can say they were my comfort food spot when I was more on the westside of town. They used to be open 24/7, but in this post COVID world, they now close before 3 am on weekends. I've been thrice in 2022 and a once or twice a year in 2023, 2024 and 2025, appreciating the hot soondobu (tofu soup) after a long day. They still provide a whole fried fish as part of the banchan, which makes me happy, as other Korean spots have modified their banchan offerings now. I can easily be happy and full with a simple order of the original beef soondobu with mild spice. Their galbi and hot stone bibimbap are my other usual go to orders as well. On our last visit, we also added our sometimes go to item -- the seafood pancake, which was nice and crisp and pretty filling. During June, they were offering soybean cold noodles (naengmyeon), which I was craving during the summer, but their take was more of a creamy peanut kind of broth for the cold noodles than the sorta sweet clear one so it wasn't what I expected, which they did warn me about. If you do order that, get it with the galbi combo so that the meat can add a bit of texture and flavor to your noodles. They still have their spacious free parking lot, which I appreciate, especially when free ktown and downtown parking is hard to find!
This place was recommended to us. We are from out of town (Portland, OR) and don't know where to go for Korean food. We had a great experience. Food was excellent! We ordered the combo meal (Galbi, Spicy pork, & Bibimbap). The staff are are all very nice. We will be back if we are in town!!
We got there around noon during lunch rush on a Saturday. We reserved a table for 2 and we're seated within 5-10min . The service was quick and amazing. I ordered the seafood tofu soup and my wife ordered the vegetarian one. We were both very happy with the quality meal and the portion size. Definitely looking forward to going back and trying Bulgogi. 😊
Impeccable food at a ridiculous value for being in Downtown. I’ve been going here since 2008 and it has never disappointed no matter the hour of day. Service has always been fantastic whether it’s breakfast, lunch, dinner and late nite. Parking lot is safe and large. My best friend came down from Seattle and this was our first food stop.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Early dinner at BCD Tofu House? Absolute win. 🔥🍲 We came in before the dinner rush and got seated right away — and let me tell you, the food came out piping hot and packed with flavor. The soon tofu was bubbling perfection, the banchan was fresh and plentiful, and the staff was on point the entire time. There’s just something about that first spoonful of spicy tofu stew that resets your entire soul. Add in that raw egg and it’s chef’s kiss. 💯🥚🔥 Clean dining area, fast service, and that cozy Korean comfort food that hits every time. If you haven’t done an early dinner here, you’re missing out on the most peaceful, delicious part of the day. 🙌🇰🇷
This place hardly needs a review—it’s already a well-known spot. But I’m writing one anyway because I’ve been coming here every time I visit LA, and that started about eight years ago. Most popular restaurants tend to lose their original flavor over time, but this place is a rare exception. The 순두부찌개 (spicy soft tofu stew) still tastes exactly like it did on my first visit. There are BCD branches in Korea, but none come close to the flavor of this original location. If you’re in LA, this is truly a must-visit. LA 갈비 is also a must-have!
Absolutely Delicious and Authentic Korean Cuisine! BCD Tofu House never disappoints! From the moment you walk in, the warm and inviting atmosphere sets the stage for an amazing meal. The star of the show is, of course, their soon tofu—rich, flavorful, and served bubbling hot. The variety of spice levels allows everyone to enjoy it just the way they like. Their banchan (side dishes) are always fresh and generously refilled, adding so much variety to the meal. The kalbi (short ribs) are tender and perfectly marinated, making for a fantastic combo with the tofu soup. Service is always fast and friendly, even during busy hours. Portions are generous, and the quality is consistently top-notch. Whether you’re a longtime fan of Korean food or trying it for the first time, BCD Tofu House is a must-visit! Highly recommend!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at this amazing restaurant, and I can't say enough good things about it! The food was incredibly authentic and full of rich flavors that took me straight to Korea. Every dish was prepared to perfection, and you could tell the ingredients were fresh and high-quality. The service was outstanding—quick, efficient, and very friendly. The staff made sure we had everything we needed and were always available to answer any questions we had about the menu. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, making it a great place to enjoy a meal with family or friends. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience, and I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Korean cuisine. I'll definitely be coming back!

This is the OG BCD. You gotta try it if you're ever in LA. +Service is fast and they're on it. +The Korean food is legit and super tasty. +The side dishes are good too, and there's a nice variety. +It's spicy, but not too salty. +I'd totally recommend the Tofu Stew and the LA rib set. -It gets packed though, so you might have to wait. -I get that it's busy, but they were cleaning the table right next to me while I was still eating. They just tossed all the leftovers in the trash. Not exactly a fun experience.
BCD Tofu House in LA delivered a reliably satisfying experience, especially if you’re in the mood for comforting Korean food served quickly and generously. The signature soon tofu came out boiling hot with a rich, well-seasoned broth that paired nicely with the soft curds of tofu and your choice of protein. One of the highlights is the complimentary dishes that arrive alongside the stew — from crispy fried fish to fresh kimchi — adding variety and a homestyle feel to the meal. Portions are hearty, rice is perfectly cooked and served in a stone pot for that delicious crust, and service moves at a brisk pace even during busy hours. It’s not a place known for culinary surprises, but if you’re craving classic sundubu done right in the heart of LA’s Korean comfort-food scene, BCD remains a dependable go-to.
BCD Tofu House in LA’s Koreatown has been a legend for decades, basically the OG that put Korean tofu stew on the map in this city. Walking into this place feels like stepping back in time, with that familiar, cozy buzz that hits you right in the nostalgia. We were in the neighborhood on a Saturday morning, craving a taste of our childhood, so we stopped by to reminisce about those days when we’d crowd around a table here as kids, eagerly waiting for that steaming pot of soondubu. We ordered the short ribs with seafood tofu stew and a plate of japchae noodles, it was like no time had passed. The short ribs were tender, juicy, and packed with that sweet-savory marinade that pairs perfectly with the spicy, bubbling seafood soondubu—ours was medium heat, loaded with soft tofu, shrimp, and clams, with that egg you crack in for extra richness. The japchae was just as good, those glassy noodles stir-fried with veggies and beef, hitting that perfect balance of chewy and flavorful. The banchan spread—kimchi, pickled radish, fish cakes—was fresh and generous, making every bite feel like a hug from your favorite auntie. The atmosphere at BCD is still as lively as ever, with servers hustling to keep up with the packed crowd. Service was fast, friendly, and efficient, even with the weekend rush. Prices are solid for the massive portions—you’re definitely not leaving hungry. For anyone who grew up in LA, BCD isn’t just a meal; it’s a time machine. If you’re in K-town and want comfort food that hits all the right spots, this place is still serving up the goods with the same heart and soul it always has.
Finally able to try BCD Tofu House! Usually there's a 2 hour wait but we only waited 30 mins on a Friday night 5:30pm-ish). The place was packed with lots of big groups dining! Servers were hustling and bustling. You place your order and that's it, you can't order anything extra. Service is very cursory so don't expect friendly attention. Food comes out once ready so you get dishes served hot. The banchan is plentiful, mostly seafood which 3 of us were allergic. The galbi beef was seasoned well and fall-off-the-bone delicious. My favorite was the kimchi soon tofu soup. Great flavor! The bimbimbap is served in a hot stone bowl. We fought over the burnt rice at the bottom of the bowl - so good. At first we thought we didn't order enough but at the end of our meal, we were stuffed. Definitely worth waiting in line for.

Very nice restaurant, delicious foods. Long queing but the staff respond well. The best tofu restaurant in LA. The location strategic also enough parking place
Honestly, I was disappointed that it didn't taste the same as before. It was lacking and bland. I had to ask for side dishes and water three times before they finally brought it to me. I ordered two soft tofu stews, but the taste and quantity were lacking, so I ordered galbi separately. With tip and tax, it came to $40, which was six pieces of galbi with only two bones. Prices have gone up a lot these days, but it seems that Korean restaurants in particular have. The service was not bad, but the ordering and payment were quick, and I had to ask three or four times for side dishes. If it had been at least delicious, I would go back, but I don't want to do that anymore.
Bring me the wrong tofu soup. I order the dumpling tofu soup, and brought me the beef tofu soup. I'm asking to change back to my original order. They wave my order in the end

Ordering delivery from this restaurant is honestly frustrating. The container they use for the soup is ridiculous. 10 out of 10 times the oil has already leaked out or spills everywhere when I open the lid. Everything ends up covered in oil. Please change the packaging. This makes no sense. You should try using it yourselves.
I honestly don’t understand why this place is often recommended as a “must-visit“ restaurant in LA. Food quality: Below average. Compared to standards in Korea, this level of food would struggle to stay in business. The LA galbi was especially disappointing — tough and difficult to chew. Anyone with sensitive teeth would have trouble finishing it. There are many other Korean restaurants in the U.S., and even in LA, that offer far better quality. Presenting this as representative Korean cuisine to non-Koreans feels unfortunate, as it lowers the overall perception of Korean food. Service: The service did not meet what I would consider basic hospitality standards. The overall experience did not justify the pricing. To be honest, the food quality made it uncomfortable to even consider leaving a tip. I truly hope the restaurant improves, because Korean cuisine deserves to be represented at a much higher level.
