excellent service and wonderful ambiance at negril village! the food was definitely delicious. very tender oxtail stew and nicely spicy jerk wings (which are on the happy hour menu)! also really enjoyed the ginger drink--it packs a punch and makes you feel like you'll never be sick again. the prices make sense for the ambiance and food was great, so I definitely want to be back!

Loved the food at this establishment. It is on the higher price and but a great alternative for Caribbean cuisine in the city.

This place makes me question why everybody does not eat Caribbean food. The food is really wonderful, I particularly like the cod fish fritters, the chicken roti and the collard greens, but almost everything I've had here has been terrific and the place is really pleasant to sit in and I love the service. Last night I had Christina as my waitstaff and not only was she attentive but she also had a terrific sense of humor.

I came here for my birthday with my partner and I can safely say it was the best dinner I've had in quite a while. The appetizers were delicious ESPECIALLY the empanadas!!! The entrees were so yummy I had the oxtail ragu riggatoni and it was the best pasta I have had in years. YEARS. My partner had the chicken roti and it was also DELISH. The atmosphere was awesome and the service added to it. Shoutout to Anthony (our waiter) who was incredibly personable and attentive. He went the extra mile for me by putting on a jamaican birthday song for me and giving us a free dessert to share. Best restaurant experience I have had in a long time.

I attended a Birthday celebration at this location. The dimmer was served family style with enough portions for everyone at our table. We even managed take home boxes. The food was definitely good and tasteful. Thank You to Lyndon our server who was very attentive and polite.

Haven’t been here in a while, so we came back for dinner—and I’m so glad we did. Starting with the service: Anthony was our server and truly did it all. He was the first to greet us when we walked in, made our drinks at the bar, and served us at the table—all with a big smile. He was friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful throughout the night. The ambiance was lovely and welcoming. For food, we ordered the oxtails, which were incredibly tender and delicious. It’s rare to find oxtail that isn’t tough or overly fatty, and these absolutely exceeded expectations. We also had the seafood roti, which was full of flavor. The drinks were excellent as well. Overall, an amazing experience from start to finish. Highly recommend.

Negril Village is truly one of my favorite Caribbean restaurants. From the moment you walk in, it feels like home. The restaurant is owned by the amazing Ms. Marva, and while her story deserves its own spotlight, the food alone keeps me coming back. I started with the jerk shrimp skewers served with ackee & saltfish tostones, and they were absolutely delicious—full of flavor and perfectly cooked. For my entrée, every bite was so good that I left my plate completely clean. For drinks, I ordered the strawberry lemon drop with tequila, and the bartender really put love into it. Perfectly balanced and one of the best cocktails I’ve had in a while. If you’re looking for authentic Caribbean food in a space that feels welcoming and soulful, Negril Village is the place to go. And if you’re lucky, you might even get the chance to meet Ms. Marva herself. Tell her I said hello.

Definitely a great carribean spot to check out. The food is pretty good especially the curried goat. My only complaint is the serving size, the portions are a bit small for the price. However, the drink menu is amazing. If you genuinely want the BEST piña coladas, this is your spot. The service is good as well, waitresses are friendly and nice but they can be slow with the food even if its not busy. The atmosphere is great, lively music, great vibes, and an even better aesthetic. I highly recommend coming here for dates or to chill with friends.

Had an amazing experience as usual! I've frequented Negril since I was 21. I am now 36 and the quality of food and service has only gotten better! Renae was our server and I could not have had anyone better either! She goes above and beyond to ensure that her guests are happy and taken care of. I've had the pleasure to have her as a server on another occasion and we mistakenly left our phone. Renae actually caught up with us outside the restaurant in the cab on the next block to make sure that the phone was returned to us. Now that's IMPECCABLE SERVICE! Negril will always be an staple restaurant on my nyc best restaurant list!

This was our first visit to Negril Village and I must say it definitely exceeded my expectations! The greeter was very polite. Our server Renae was amazing!! I presented her with my allergy card she was on point she made sure to instruct the chef of all of my allergies and double checked if it was ok to use vegan butter to prepare my meal. I had the curry seafood and I must say it was chefs kiss. I used to have the seafood stew and Negril Bk but this meal was top tier. My husband throughly enjoyed his snapper meal. Ms. Marva was kind enough to step out from the kitchen so I could personally thank her for the care she took with my food and the fact that it still turned out absolutely delicious. This was a great first experience and we'll definitely be adding this restaurant to our list!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Jamaican food done right! I visited Negril Village in Brooklyn on a Saturday evening and had an incredible experience from start to finish. First off, the ambiance is amazing — vibrant colors, stylish decor, and that warm, welcoming island energy. The space is photo-friendly without feeling overdone. We sat upstairs, which gave us a great view of the bar and the whole restaurant. Chill reggae played in the background at just the right volume, setting a relaxed and inviting vibe. Now for the food and drinks — absolutely delicious! The rum punch is a must-try: sweet, fruity, and made with authentic Wray & Nephew rum for that smooth yet serious island kick. We started with the oxtail egg rolls, and wow — these were the highlight of the meal! Crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful inside, and bursting with perfectly seasoned oxtail. You only get three per order, but they’re so good you won’t even care. For entrées, I had the Oxtail Rasta Pasta, which was rich, creamy, and full of flavor. My friend ordered the traditional oxtail dinner with rice & peas and mac & cheese on the side — everything was seasoned perfectly and served in hearty portions. Our server, Anthony, was wonderful — friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which made the experience even better. If you’re looking for authentic Jamaican food with great vibes and top-notch service, Negril Village should be at the top of your list. I’ll definitely be back!

This place is a gem! Food: We got the Oxtail Rigatoni and Jerk Chicken with rice and beans. Incredibly delicious!! The food was incredibly fresh and tasty, even after 2 days in the fridge after we took leftovers, it tasted really good. Drinks: Marvarita was really good, sugarcane spritz was warm and not very good, you can pass. Atmosphere: We went at 5pm on a Sunday, there was live music, hilarious singer who complemented people sitting around. Service: 11/10. Barbara(the owner) is lovely, she came and said hi, chatted with us and even took our order. Our server was Anthony, delightful man, felt like he was a cousin. we felt like we were so welcome and KNOWN in the restaurant. Pricepoint: ridiculously reasonable esp being in Greenwich. This will be our go to Jamaican spot from this point on.

Wanted some Jamaican food so I came here for dinner while visiting New York. Ordered some mocktails, jerk chicken wings, ox tails and festive. All were really good! The jerk wings had a good spice to them and the ox tails were flavorful. Even the broccoli that came with the oxtails had some seasoning to them. The restaurant had a nice ambiance to it too. Would definitely visit again & recommend this place to others.

Negril never disappoints! As returning customers, we were once again blown away by the bold flavors, vibrant atmosphere, and warm hospitality. The food always hits—fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. On this visit, we were thrilled to see they got their liquor license back, and every drink we tried was smooth, tasty, and perfectly crafted. A special shoutout to Anthony, who remembered us from our last visit and delivered exceptional service with a personal touch. Highly recommend Negril if you’re craving amazing Caribbean food and a laid-back, welcoming vibe. We’ll definitely be back again soon!

Saturday was a beautiful day. Service was excellent. Our meal was delicious across the board (7 Queens). The beverages were good . The only negative was the bathroom situation. Although communication on that issue could have been better, I will return again.

Cool atmosphere and beautiful design. The Jamaican dishes were tasty and well presented. Prices seemed a bit high from our perspective, but maybe that is typical in the US. Unfortunately, the waiter service was not great that day, which affected the experience slightly.

It has been years since I've been here. They switched it up and the atmosphere is inviting and welcoming. Our server was awesome and knowledgeable in regards to choices and service. The food was dynamic and the portions were good. My only complaint it's that it is BYOB. It worked out because they have a liquor store around the corner. The selections are minimal but if you get some rum the restaurant rum punch is good. Definitely plan on going back soon and bringing the family with me. The codfish fritters are delightful The spring rolls are delicious The oxtail with the peas and rice stellar. My friend enjoyed the fish as well.

I want to pretend to feel bad about writing this review but I’m not. I won’t be coming back here and quite frankly there are multiple better Carribbean options. For context, this all happened on Valentine’s Day. To begin, my boyfriend & I had reservations for 9:45. Upon arrival, we were given a cold greeting. It seemed like the hostess had an attitude that she even had to work last night. She hands off the menus to another hostess and he scolded at us after he lead us to follow him & falsely assumed there was an open table at a part of the restaurant. At this point we both were feeling uncomfortable but once again since it was Valentine’s Day & we had never been here before we decided to give it the benefit of the doubt & we continued with dinner. Our server Linden took our orders, he didn’t check in with us after that & never noticed we never got our drinks. Every table around us got their orders and was able to place additional drink orders. I’m a very understanding person but the restaurant wasn’t even full at this point. Our meals were eaten & we had to flag Linden down to get watered down drinks that were clearly made but were sitting at the bar & tasted like juice/ were separating. Lastly, the food was just ok & there was an automatic 20% gratuity added. Safe to say we will not be returning. I hope the customer service issue is fixed in the future, I was upset we spent our hard earned money here.

Overall, not a bad place but overpriced for what you get. I do not recommend coming here. There's much better Caribbean food elsewhere, especially uptown. The jerk chicken was nice and spicy but a little dry inside. For most of the food here, it's a bit overpowering on the spice (rather than a careful cooking for the texture) so you're not a spicy food person? You may not like the menu. The server was friendly and knowledgeable. The hostess had a lot of attitude. I arrived at 2:00 p.m. and the place was completely empty, but she acted like the place was fully booked. We had a reservation confirmed. Finally, there was something weird going on with the music. It would stop every now and then and the volume would fluctuate two notches up and down throughout the song. Kind of strange. The music gave it a nice upbeat vibe but also rendered a place. Not as great for intimate conversations.

I had a terrible experience at Negril Village on Valentine’s Day. My partner took me here for what was supposed to be a special evening, and it ended up being extremely disappointing. We were originally seated upstairs, but noticed there was a live DJ and more open space downstairs. We asked if we could switch tables, and the waiter accommodated us around 10:20 PM. We were told our drinks and food would be sent downstairs. By 11:00 PM 40 minutes later we had not received a single drink, appetizer, water, or any update. Nothing. I asked the waiter what was going on, and she said maybe our order was still upstairs and she would check right away. We said okay and tried to continue enjoying our evening. By 11:15 PM, I saw the same waiter downstairs. She made direct eye contact with me and walked away without saying a word. No update. No apology. No explanation. At that point, we had been sitting downstairs for almost an hour with absolutely nothing not even water or a complimentary seltzer. I completely understand that Valentine’s Day is busy. Kitchens get backed up. But communication is everything. Waiting an hour without so much as a drink or acknowledgment is unacceptable. A simple update would have gone a long way. At 11:30 PM, we decided to leave and take our money elsewhere except nowhere else was open by then. We ended up spending Valentine’s night at a corner store getting sandwiches. It was honestly heartbreaking. I literally wanted to cry. This was my first and last time at Negril Village, and I will absolutely not be returning. I would not recommend this establishment based on this experience.
