Wow! Sattdown Jamaican Grill is officially a must-visit in Studio City. I came in because everyone kept telling me to try their vegan oxtail, and it did not disappoint — tender, flavorful, and seasoned to perfection. Pair it with the classic rice & peas, fried plantains, and fresh veggies, and you’ve got a full plate that hits every note. I also tried the ginger pineapple drink, which was refreshing and the perfect balance of sweet with a little kick. The whole vibe here feels warm, welcoming, and true to Jamaican flavor, with plenty of vegan options that make it easy to order a full meal without compromise. If you’re vegan and looking for authentic, bold flavors in Los Angeles, this is your spot. Already TLW approved — and I’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu!
Tiny spot with huge flavors! We stopped for dinner and were welcomed so kindly and our food was hot, fresh and amazing. We had the vegan jerk chicken and the oxtail and both were incredible. The oxtail just fell off the bone and the flavor was so rich. The vegan chicken had us both questioning why we ever ate meat 🥰
Wow — what an incredible experience! This Jamaican restaurant is an absolute gem. Every dish was bursting with flavor and authenticity. The jerk chicken was perfectly spiced and juicy, the oxtail was fall-off-the-bone tender, and the rice and peas were the perfect complement. Don’t even get me started on the fried plantains — pure heaven! The atmosphere was warm, vibrant, and full of positive energy. The staff made us feel right at home — so welcoming and genuinely kind. The reggae music, the island-inspired decor, the incredible smells from the kitchen… it all felt like a little escape to Jamaica. I can honestly say this is one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. If you’re looking for bold flavors, good vibes, and food that feeds the soul, this is the place. 10/10 — highly recommend
Food was great, I got the BBQ Jerk chicken and despite all the spice warnings, it truly wasn't spicy, I blasted it with the hot sauce they have on the table. They didnt ask me what spice level I prefer so they probably gave me mild lol but regardless, the flavor was ON POINT. Chicken was juicy and had a beautiful char on it, nice amount of sauce. Beans/rice was cooked perfectly, truly a great find. I was already planning in my head when I'd come back. They have a grocery store attached with great products, including hot sauces. I bought one and its SO TASTY with a great spice.
This is such a dope place! The service was wonderful (I'm sorry I didn't get the name of the girl in the front she was so sweet) and the food was truly amazing!!! We're vegan and made the drive down here to get some of their vegan oxtail plates! It came with rice n peas, plantain and vegetables and the 'oxtail' was soo good. I appreciate vegan options that aren't made of just straight up soy. Flavor was on point and the sauce was so good 😩 It's hella cute inside and they have a bunch of great drinks to purchase there along with sauces, marinades, wellness products and other tings; it's like a whole little store. I'll definitely be back and recommend this place to everyone I know 🙏🏽🖤💛💚
This place was a very pleasant surprise! It's a small place with only a few tables on the side, and a couple tables on the sidewalk, up front. It's also a small market with a limited selection but functional. Parking was difficult in the shopping center, but there seemed to be plenty of parking on the side street. Came for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The food was delicious! We had the jerk chicken and the goat curry. Both came with rice, vegetables, and fried bananas. Very generous portions. One would have been enough for both.
I love their Vegan Lions Mane Oxtail, Chef Tony is the best. They also have delicious Sea Moss Smoothies & Mount Teman Roots hard to find here in the Valley. Love the Staff & Food.
ThIs place is one of the best authentic Jamaican food places I ever been to . The location is in a small plaza , the food is between $16- 32 I got the salmon mango plate which was fire , and I got my mom the oxtail dinner in which the oxtail were huge. They also have a small store inside where you can get ginger beer, curry powder, plantin chips etc.. this is a small restaurant that you can sit and eat , it does have a restroom available to the public. And the twisted flower hibiscus pun drink is off the hook . Yes they have patties even one for vegetarians . The owner of the place name is Toni which you will see in the picture below
Food was awesome, I had the jerk chicken , it was very flavorful not dry , hubby had oxtail - he is in love . The plantains and rice/beans - best ever . Try the Patty - beef , curry chicken and jerk chicken - so gooood. Atmosphere was great and friendly . Nice big portions . Definitely coming back .
Sattdown…amazing. My first time here with a friend I had Jerk oxtails, the perfect balance of high spice heat and flavor. The meat just melts….absolutely. I last dined in— it’s a cute cultural atmosphere in a corner in studio city. This time I ordered takeout for me and my friend and ordered Jerk Oxtails and Jerks Chicken wings. Plantains delicate, Ox is tender to a melt, Rice is exceptionally flavored. Not only is the food amazing but Chef Tony is so hospitable and kind— he takes the time to connect with his guests and I love that. Always great to put a face to the food ;p The customer service A1, I felt listened to and catered to; since I always ask a million questions about the meal as I order because I’m such a picky eater. Yes, it can take a while for the food to be ready but it is SO worth it.
This place, I took a glimpse of a wild snapper pic and asked them if it was available for the day. They said yes, quite fresh. I place and order and the fish was just amazing the way it was prepared 🤩 Jamaican Style! Yah…..Maan!
Authentic jerk chicken with a smoky drum flavor, and the plantains were perfectly cooked. This is hands down the best Jamaican food I’ve had in LA.

Best Jamaican restaurant in Los Angeles. Great customer service will definitely recommend to anybody thank you sattdown
Why is it only 5 stars. One of the best authentic Jamaican places we have found besides my own grandma's kitchen. I have not had food this flavorful in years. Truly took me home to childhood memories. Any negative reviews are people who do NOT understand what Jamaican food is and should be. Jerk chicken "too spicy" eat at an Americanized place. If you ask me it is NOT spicy it is tamed down for others. Again best ever. Will return for years to come! Thank you for being there.
Absolutely love this spot! The food is amazing, and their vegan options are next level. So much flavor, perfectly seasoned, and you can tell everything is made with care. It’s not easy to find a Jamaican restaurant that truly delivers for vegans, but this place nails it every time. Great vibes, friendly service, and incredible food—I’ll definitely keep coming back. Highly recommend! 🌱🔥
SattDown Jamaican Grill is an authentic Jamaican restaurant with an ambience that makes you feel like the culture. Chef Tony's energy and personality are everything! I could go on about the food, but you should really stop by and check it out for yourself!

Really loved this place, such a gem. Stopped by unexpectedly and was greeted by the loveliest host Penny I believe her name is. Will definitely be back

Visited Sattdown Jamaican Grill while in Studio City, CA. The atmosphere was casual and laid-back, and the service was friendly. We stopped in craving some Caribbean food and tried the roti — it was okay, but coming from a Trinidad roti perspective, it didn’t quite hit the mark for me. That said, it was still a satisfying meal overall. Overall, a decent spot if you’re in the area and craving Caribbean flavors. Saluti
Food was absolutely delicious and large portions. The only thing that didn't work for me was that everything was a bit more spicy than I could handle...but I'm also a wimp lol. And there were lots of herb stems that I picked out of my curry goat. But the flavors were wonderful and authentic and service was great. I'd definitely eat there again.
The jerk salmon is very tasty. People like the oxtail a lot, so it must be good! Prices are not low but if you're able to overlook that factor, you may really be in for a treat on certain food items sold here.

We were VERY VERY disappointed in the food. No good comments to write. However; we MUST show some of the disappointment. We ordered a snack curry to try; we were told that the snack is xxx ounces and the meal is xxx ounces, that is the difference in pricing! See pictures. We do not eat bones!! Not sure if any chicken meat was measured however; this is amount of loose bones (no chicken) in a curry snack? Are these bones included in the measurements? The vegetarian Oxtails had to be tossed; awful! The Jerk Chicken Patty not edible; too dry not enough filling for the dough! Jerk chicken TOOOOOOO spicy!!! Extra hot food for favor is good! Hot for no value is bad! Sorry SATTDOWN! We need to stand up and get out!!!!
My first time ordering from here and they gave me the smallest portion of their mac n cheese. It’s like one scoop of Mac and cheese for $10! Don’t order it yall. And I’m tasting it now, and it’s bland and dry, with no jerk flavor like the description says. So many better places to order from, won’t be back
