Opinions de Tofu Village Los Angeles
LA Tofu House is the restaurant I frequent the most in LA. I often tell people it's like my second home because I'm there all the time. The owner is the best. She's fun, kind, and happens to run the tofu soup shop with the best tasting tofu soup in ktown. (Surawon is also good, but I still go here much more frequently because it's more no frills, and of course, cus the owner is wonderful). Now, I don't know why I still try every new tofu soup spot that pops up.... But I do. There's a hipper looking spot that opened up last year near my apartment (if you keep your eyes out, you'll know what I'm talking about...), so I decided to try it out. Took one sip and instantly knew it was not as good. And what I mean by that is: depth of flavor, balance, deliciousness. Then, this last week, ANOTHER tofu soup spot popped up even CLOSER to my apartment. So, once again, I went to go support the new business. Wow. Instantaneously, my partner and I took one bite and said "hm."..... Got "spicy" and it was somewhat spicy, but was just...flat!!!!!! You really don't know what you got til you keep trying new shit against your better judgment... Never again. I went back to Young (that's the owner's name) and told her about the mediocre sundubu I'd had the other day. She told me she's been worried because business is tough. I'm just one customer, but I did tell her that hers is the best. Don't even me started with BCD. It's across the street from my place but I haven't gone in a year because LA Tofu House is just significantly better. Anyway, PLEASE COME HERE AND TRY FOR YOURSELF!!!
I LOVE THIS PLACE❤️❤️❤️ So much more flavor and so much more pleasant than BCD. I love the sides and meal combo. Absolute gem in LA. Parking is free and typically available. I always get the curry soon tofu soup and the bulgogi. Whenever I am starving and not in the mood to cook, I come here.
Food: very good bibimbap, and galbi. The side dishes (banchan) were excellent too. Truly 10/10 in the regard. Service: The strongest part of the meal, and probably the reason this review has 5 stars instead of 4. Jeonghyeon Jang was our server and she went above and beyond at all times. She was kind and not dismissive at all even though only my friend was Korean and spoke Korean fluently. She was attentive to whatever me or my friend asked of her and she always had a great attitude and disposition. Atmosphere: Nothing out of the ordinary. The restaurant has a very cool Korean vibe and I like how they have a Playlist of songs with the track displaying in one of the TVs in case you really like the song and wanna write it down for the drive back home. That was a nice extra touch, not gonna lie.
Banchans were delicious, main food was ok. I guess no MSG on foods, my tongue and stomach felt comfortable. I will definitely go back.
We came here for the dinner after a show. Such a nice and clean place. The waitress was super sweet and friendly. Took care of us all the time. The menu is great. Easy to make the decisions. We had the tofu soup with pork and also the spicy beef soup. Both very good. Highly recommend the tofu soup. Silky and full flavoured. Just wish the portion of banchans was a little more. Definitely come back again!
I rarely leave reviews, but this place was such a pleasant surprise and warrants a review. I’m glad I stumbled upon this restaurant! I will definitely be back to try more from the menu. The service was great as well. Highly recommend.
this place is so underrated! it’s better than BCD in my opinion. the stir fry pork was exceptional and so was the hot stone bibimbap + tofu soup. the lady serving us was also so sweet. support this local spot! it’s delicious.
Like many places in a strip mall, this restaurant looks very unassuming from the outside, but the food was superb. I went out with several friends, and one of them wanted to split two dishes with me which is a great way to vary it up. We got the bulgogi bibimbap and galbi which were both incredibly tasty. I’m a fan of slight char on grilled meats, and the cook did a great job with just the right amount. I would come back in a heartbeat.
New favorite soon tofu restaurant in K town. Easy to get table, food delicious, not fancy but if you looking for good korean food this is it! I recommend it.
La Tofu House is a Korean restaurant that specializes in tofu-based dishes. Overall, my experience dining at La Tofu House was very positive. The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy and welcoming, with traditional Korean decor and warm lighting. The staff were friendly and attentive, and were happy to answer any questions about the menu.
I feel like this spot is slept on! Been here almost 10x. First the side dishes are really good. Fresh and flavorful. They have the fried fish and spicy squid. Iykyk... The portions are huge. I get the soon tofu and side dish, but the side is like a full meal. The staff are so nice all the time and service is fast. The place is clean, cool, and parking is never an issue.
Great experience! Servers were super friendly , we got the combo entrées with soon tofu. Definitely enjoyed it all, raw crab was great too! Theres the picture after we ate from the side dishes, so I placed a photo before, they give good quantities. Nice, clean, and good options to choose from!
LA Tofu house is SUPER delicious! Stepping in the restaurant, the staff was extremely friendly and kind. The waitresses, took her time to explain the menu, and different dishes we were hesitant about. She was even nice enough, that she insisted to crack the eggs inside our tofu soup. The food is absolutely exquisite!!! I couldn’t get enough of the tofu soup, the beef bibimbap, and not to mention the Galbi! Ufff 🔥🔥🔥 100% recommend! I promise, you’ll keep coming back!
Hello hidden gem!! This spot is clean. We felt safe with the kind security outside. It was past 2 am and their food was perfect after LAX! So generous + delicious. This is the kind of place you’re so happy to accidentally find + will remember to go to every chance. The staff checked on us very kindly and made us feel very welcome. Thank you for a perfect experience!!
this place is bomb. I ordered the seafood Tofu soup and LA Galbi were best compare to BCD. And my friend ordered the cold noodle Milmyeon was excellent with hot weather like these days.

Just visited Korea Town last week, 2 times ate at this place. 1st night we met the owner, old Korean lady. 2nd night met her friend, as keeper. I ordered the small beef two times, my wife ordered others, good taste. It is quite good to enjoy Korean food in US. Thanks a lot,
The tofu soup here was piping hot and richly flavored with a strong kimchi base and plenty of soft tofu. Portion sizes are generous and they bring lots of little banchan sides to share. Server recommended the house special and it arrived bubbling and fragrant. It’s casual and a little noisy, full of regulars who appreciate the authentic flavors. Perfect meal for a cold evening
Really great service, super nice owner. The food was delicious and convenient for late night dinner or snacks since it’s open until 4am.

Tofu soup is really nice, tofu is very tender but the beef is hard. They cook rice perfectly. The restaurant gave us a fish as appetizer, it was phenomenal! I love it so much because it’s so tender and tasty. The bibimbap is a little too wet may because the sauce or the veggies inside. However the kimchi is not spicy.
Overall: 3.9/5 (Ubereats delivery) The prices here are hard to beat for the amount of food. They gave 3 boxes of banchans + 3 fried mackerels but they could have given more meat. The food was also packed really well & delivered quickly! LA Galbi Combo ($30.45) & Spicy Pork Bulgogi Combo ($25.95): The combos come with a mild seafood soft tofu stew (haemul sundubu-jjigae) & white rice. We didn't know since they don't list these items on Ubereats. It asked for the spice level which I thought was for the meat since under the description, it just list the meat name. The white rice was a bit dry & not the usual sticky rice we get. Would have been better if we got the purple rice. The tofu soup was really good & full of tofu. Really glad we got this since it was better than the sliced rice cake soup. The galbi & spicy pork were lacking umami so they were okay & blended in with the rest of the meal. The tofu soup had the most flavor out of everything for me. Sliced Rice Cake Soup Special ($15.99): This was the least favorite entree for our group. The rice cakes were overcooked so they were mushy & breaking apart. The soup flavor was not good & looked white, maybe from the dissolving rice cakes. The only thing good was the beef.

Craved some tofu soup and opt to this spot over BCD. Service was alright. Even though I know it’s a one man show where the server was also taking care of take-out orders and serving rice bowls and handing out menus but certain table like my own didn’t get any water while other tables had. The self serve kiosk attached to certain tables helped with managing wait time on ordering. Soup base was a little sweet to my tastebud. At first I thought it was from the rice but when I drank the soup alone without the rice I realized it was from the soup. Would come back to try other items offered on the menu, but not for the tofu soup.

The wait was ridiculous for the food. They lacked one staff member but should have more than the staff they had on hand anyway. I think the highlight was the Japchae Noodle dish. The Banchan was okay and the soon soup was also okay. Not a fan but not the worst experience either.
Ox Bone Soup does not contain Ox or Bone. (Pic. 1 (D1 meal) states that soup should contain ox bone). Broth is very watery and tastes like tap water. (Pic. 2. You can see a spoon through the broth) When asked, the waiter said that LA Tofu House does not have Ox Bone, but some other restaurants do. I'm wondering how other meals are made. Past review: Best tofu house I've been to. Customer service is the best. If you come during the night you get the chance to talk to the owner of this restaurant. Free parking.
We came around 10:45 in the evening and we ordered that galbi tang soup and Japchae. This is our second time we ate in this restaurant. However, when we we’re in the middle of our meal we noticed something in our soup we placed it in a napkin and we found out that it is a (moth). We immediately called the server to inform her about the incident. The server and my friend witnessed that it was a moth. The server apologized and offered something to drink and not to pay the bills. Hopefully no one will get sick and no serious problem although when went out the restaurant I felt like throwing up. I hope it won’t happen again and the manager will supervise the restaurant responsibly.
