OMG! This place was a hidden gem, but now I'd gaining some buzz! Today was my first day eating there. I had the Loaded Tots breakfast with feta and chicken sausage. To put it lately, the food was divine! I definitely recommend this place and will be back again. The waitress remembered my daughter's name, which goes a long way from a customer's standpoint.

Enter thru the back and you’re welcomed with smiles, and a beautifully decorated restaurant! It’s clean and inviting with plants and art on the walls. We were sat and served by Paola who had amazing positive energy. There were so many nice touches like dehydrated oranges in the water, and lotus cookies with our coffee. But the star of the show was the food. I got the chorizo breakfast burrito with both red and green salsa and it was absolutely delicious!! We will make an effort to come back as much as possible because this is world class food and service!

Last day in LA with my son and his wife and he says we're going out for breakfast. He said first time for him but place has good reviews. All I can say is can't wait for next time I get breakfast in SoCal! Look at the presentation in these pics. Even the water with the dried citrus slice was cool - and flavorful. But the food was the star. Everyone had a different dish and presentation was outstanding. Food taste was delicious with great mix of heat savory flavors. Highly recommend.

Excellent find in Hawthorne. Had breakfast, and was able to get a table by the front. The food was off the charts, what a great collection of brunch types of food. If ever even a little close to this area, it's well worth spending a few hours here enjoying the friendly staff and unbelievable good quality food here.

Highly recommend!! The place is warm and inviting when you walk in. I love the decor. I also love that they offer a dog treat station! Food was phenomenal - bursting with flavor, fresh and high-quality ingredients, beautiful presentation. Non-alcoholic beverages and cocktails were amazing - delicious and refreshing. Service was excellent - they were on top of everything and gave excellent recommendations. I can't wait to go back and try more things next time I'm in town!

Yummm! Loved having breakfast here. My husband had the Enfrijoladas and I had the huevos rancheros. I also had a Cafe de la Olla which was perfectly spiced. Staff was very friendly and the place was super cute. Will def return.

Tata's did NOT disappoint! We thoroughly enjoyed....The service we received from the host, Jesus Alberto, the owner, Luis & our waitress, Nancy was A++.Each of them were pleasant and attentive throughout our stay. We collectively enjoyed everything we ordered. The fresh lemonade was refreshing and the way lemonade should taste...the caramel latte, chicken &waffles, enfrioladas and birria were all flavorful and well-made. The portion sizes were generous and prices quite reasonable. This was our first time but definitely not our last!

Tata’s Café – A Bold, Flavorful Feast You Won’t Forget I don’t know what kind of magic they’re cooking up in that kitchen, but Tata’s Café just gets it. From the moment I walked in, the energy was warm, the vibe was casual-but-cozy, and the staff made me feel like I was a regular—even though it was my first visit. Let’s talk food, because wow. 🔥 Chicken & Waffles: Absolutely showstopping. The fried chicken was golden, juicy, and seasoned to perfection—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. They don’t skimp here. It came dramatically served with a steak knife stabbed right into the stack like a delicious little battle trophy, garnished with fresh rosemary for that extra flair. The waffle was thick and fluffy, not overly sweet, which let the maple syrup shine. Speaking of syrup, the portion served on the side was generous and paired perfectly. This dish screams “comfort food” but still feels elevated. 🌮 Quesabirrias: Three perfectly crisped, cheesy birria tacos that brought me right back to the streets of Mexico—bold, juicy, and flavorful with that rich, slow-braised beef interior. The consommé was just the right amount of oily goodness to dunk these bad boys in. Paired with pickled onions, sliced avocado, and a side of black beans, this platter felt like a complete, thoughtful offering. Bonus points for the roasted jalapeño on top—it added a smoky punch! ☕️ Iced Caramel Latte with Cookie: Whoever decided to crown this drink with a Biscoff cookie deserves a raise. It was beautifully layered and visually striking—definitely Instagram-worthy, but also delicious. The coffee had a deep roast flavor that balanced out the caramel sweetness, and the milk was just the right amount of creamy. This wasn’t just a drink, it was a moment. 🍽️ Presentation: 10/10. Everything was plated like it belonged on a cooking show. Every element had a place and purpose. It was clear that whoever runs this kitchen truly cares. 🌟 Service: Super friendly and attentive, even while the café was buzzing. Staff checked in without hovering, and food came out surprisingly fast considering the quality. 💸 Prices: Very reasonable for the quality and quantity. You’re definitely getting your money’s worth. 🧼 Cleanliness: Spotless dining area, clean bathrooms, and everything felt well-maintained despite the high traffic. 👀 Vibe: Family-friendly with a modern touch. Great for brunch with friends, solo dates, or just treating yourself on a weekday. ⸻ Final verdict: Tata’s Café isn’t just a meal—it’s an experience. If you’re anywhere within driving distance, it’s absolutely worth the stop. Whether you’re craving American comfort food with flair or something with a little more Latin soul, they’ve nailed both. I’ll definitely be back… and next time, I’m bringing backup to try even more of the menu.

My new go to breakfast spot!!! Literally a whole in the wall, but the Owner Luis makes this place great, goes above and beyond customer service, makes sure you’re taken care of and for my first time recommended the Pork Chops and the Enfrijoladas. I wasn’t hopeful when he said pork chops as I assumed it was a regular small Diner Size but man was I wrong. It’s huge, the size of people’s faces and about 2 inches thick topped with their special butter (ask for extra). All the other food was bomb from the cheese crusted meat lovers burrito to the Pancake sampler. Maria our server was awesome making sure all drinks were topped off and whatever we needed taken care of. Already been back twice in one week and taken my family. Planning on making it a third but highly recommend this place. Come ready to eat because the portions are big too lol!!!! Thanks Luis, definitely telling all my Polynesian peoples to stop in, hopefully they don’t clean out all the Pork Chops 🤙🏽😂

First time customer and was very satisfied with the food and the service. will definitely be coming again! I ordered the chorizo potato burrito and it was HUGE, enough for 2 people. It was delicious. My partner ordered French toast with fresh fruit and that was also 10/10. Pictured are the caramel and mocha latte. Also a hit! Overall 10/10 experience highly recommend

Support your local businesses, and you might just find a hidden gem! Tatas Cafe is absolutely delicious. I tried the wet chorizo burrito, and not only was it packed with flavor, but it was also a shareable size—definitely worth it! The pancakes were soft, fluffy, and just as amazing. And the iced coffee? Perfectly made! Everything we tried exceeded expectations. I’ll definitely be coming back soon!

If you're not stopping here for brunch you are missing out. The food and coffee was fantastic and every detail was considered. Breakfast here was a busy time and you can tell why. The wait wasn't long and the staff was very friendly. A spot for a return visit for sure.

Im a big fan of supporting the local establishments. While traveling through LA, near LAX, I found Tata's Cafe. My maps took me right there. I understand this place hasnt been there too long, but with what we got in service and food, I could imagine it will be a staple that will stay. I dined with my wife and two kid, one of which is a growing teenager and will eat anything in site. To start off with, my wife got a latte. It was brewed fresh, delivered quick with a great froth design, and packed a ton of flavor with each sip. My son ordered orange juice, not knowing that it is legit fresh squeezed. That was a real treat, and even better that you can see them make the juice there at the counter. One awesome thing to note, was the food was brought out as it was prepared. So while not like a chain, your food doesnt sit under a heat lamp! Ultimate fresh presentation. For food, my daughter ordered the kids short stack of pancakes. The plate came out with a kid friendly presentation, and my 9 year old daughter loved it. The cakes were not dense, and the whip cream was fresh. My wife then received her Monte Christo Sandwich. This was impressive in that the battered coating was not too thick, and it wasnt greasy. The traditional raspberry dip had a nice citrus twist to it, which made it bright and delightful. Over all a great sandwich and very filling. I ordered the french toast, topped with nutella and bananas. It was insane!!! Absolutely one of the best french toast plates I have ever had in my life. So light, not greasy, bursting with flavor and layers of goodness. And then my son ordered the meat lovers burrito, which basically takes the breakfast burrito to a whole new level. All the breakfast meats wrapped up with hashbrowns and cheese. Then topped with a fried egg and a tangy great sauce. The burrito was the show stopper and my son who eats everything could not finish it, it was so much food. I tried everything, and kept coming back to that burrito. It was fire! The space is super clean and well kept. There is no door to the kitchen so you can see right in as food is prepared. The whole restaurant is new, but inviting. The staff was great. A gentleman named Luis, who appeared to be either the owner or manager, was there and made sure everything was great, for everyone. I cant recommend this place enough. Better than any chain restaurant out there. You can feel the love that is used in the food prep. Its a combination of home cooked meets fancy brunch, at great prices. Tata's cafe is a place you should make the effort to stop and eat it, even if only passing through!

The food was delicious! We ordered a chilaquiles with a red sauce and birria meat, a mimosa, a chilaquiles with a green sauce and birria meat, and a golden turmeric latte. Everything came out fairly quick and the food was really good! You do have to go around to the back of the restaurant in order to get in which can be confusing the first time. Plenty of parking off to the side of the building

Tata's Breakfast Place turned out to be a delightful find! My sister and I were craving chilaquiles and decided to give this spot a try after seeing its positive reviews on Google. Located at the back of the building, Tata's offers convenient parking near the Tesla charging station. The moment we stepped inside, we were charmed by the inviting and homey decor. The space is clean and spacious, and the servers are both attentive and friendly. We arrived at a decent hour, and while there were already a few diners, the place started to fill up quickly as we ordered. We chose the chilaquiles verdes and enfrijoladas, and both dishes were bursting with flavor and absolutely delicious. The portions were huge, leaving us full and satisfied. However, we couldn't resist trying the adorable kid-sized pancakes before we left. They were a perfect sweet ending to our meal. Everything was simply delicious but the enfrijoladas were the star. A lovely touch was the water served with a beautiful dried fruit garnish, adding to the overall experience. Tata's Breakfast Place is definitely worth a visit for anyone looking for a flavorful and hearty breakfast in a cozy setting.

Absolutely delicious! First of all the place itself smells so clean and the floor is so clean!! The staff are so friendly! The food is amazing and cooked well. We ordered Regular latte, Tara’s latte, freshly squeezed orange juice (AMAZINGGGGG), build my own omelette, Chilaquiles w/ 2 eggs (nachos on the bottom), and pancakes (not pictured here) that were all amazing. Prices are super reasonable too. 10/10

Very clean modern simple farmhouse vibe. The main entrance by the street is closed and the entrance is a bit hidden in the back by the alley facing the hotel. Very delicious americanized Mexican fusion brunch spot! We got chilequilles and Huevos ahogados. Recommend Fancy 3 premium ghiredelli Hot Chocolate for hot cocoa lovers. Horchatta latte is a MUST get. Also love the iced water comes with a beautiful touch of dried blood orange slice. This adorable spot is also pet friendly with water bowl and dog treats. Service is very great. Highly recommend this brunch restaurant.

Food was amazing!!! Everything we ordered was on point and definitely worth the wait. It was busy and took about 30 min to be seated but the food came out quickly. The pineapple upside down pancake was amazing. And the butter was delicious. Everything was cooked to perfection. The servers and gentleman host were very nice and conversational. The entrance is in the BACK of the building. Not an issue in any way, but many people were trying to come in through the door in the street. Lol

My daughter and I were headed back to the East Coast after spending the weekend in the area. We picked this restaurant because of the location and the reviews online. You can park on Hawthorne, but entry into the establishment is in the rear. We walked in and were immediately greeted, and seated. There was already a number of customers seated, but it was not crowded. Everyone had their own space. The menu is via QR code, and a waitress takes your order. I ordered the avocado toast + smoked salmon, a latte, and shared the pancake sampler. The avocado toast was the best I've ever had. I am not fond of tomatoes, but everything else that came on it was full of flavor. The latte was hot, bold with flavor, and had decorated foam. The pancakes were fluffy and flavorful. I didn't use any syrup, only the special butter, and toppings. The service was great, and the food came out timely. The prices didn't matter, but they are worth it. If ever in the area, I'd come back for a visit.

Here's a fantastic restaurant review with your specific recommendations, Michael: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This Place is a Hidden Gem - You MUST Visit!** I'm telling you right now - if you haven't been to this restaurant yet, you're seriously missing out! This place has everything you could want: fantastic food, incredible customer service, and desserts that will blow your mind. Let me start with the service - the staff here treats you like family. They're attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely care about making sure you have an amazing experience. From the moment you sit down, you feel welcomed and well taken care of. Now, the food... WOW! Everything is delicious, but I have to give you some specific recommendations: The loaded tots are INCREDIBLE! Seriously, order these as soon as you sit down. They're perfectly crispy, loaded with all the right toppings, and honestly could be a meal on their own. Trust me on this one! And don't even think about leaving without trying their **Salvadorian quesadilla** - it's amazing! The flavors are authentic and bold, and it's unlike any quesadilla you've had before. This dish alone is worth the trip. But save room for dessert because their desserts are fantastic - highly recommend trying whatever they have available. Each one is crafted with care and tastes like pure heaven. Please visit here! You won't regret it. This restaurant has earned a permanent spot on my favorites list, and I guarantee it'll become one of yours too! Don't walk, RUN to this place! 🏃‍♂️✨

Food and service was excellent. Recommend their dirty horchata that comes with biscoff biscuit and enfrijoladas. I would recommend that you call and make reservation as wait times for a table is over 30 minutes- we waited 40 minutes but food was good for a first time. The entrance is through the back and so is parking next to the hotel and police department. It's definitely a place to make a trip back next time in town.

Tata’s is a strange little spot to grab brunch. The food is pretty good, and they even have an impressively decent latte. The problems are really more about how weird it is to get in to the restaurant, and the service. The front door is locked, and you have to go in through what feels like an employee only back door. Really disorienting and confusing. And the service is okay, but it was much slower than I would have expected for how few people were there when we showed up. Overall, it’s a good bite and coffee if you’re staying at the hotel next door, but I don’t think I’d go out of my way for it.

I wanted to try somewhere new for breakfast just googled and this is the first place I saw, so I said, why not. I must say getting to this location was a little awkward when following the directions from Google Maps. I think it’s due to the fact that this restaurant doesn’t use their front door that faces Hawthorne blvd, they make you go around to the back, which is weird in itself. The atmosphere was welcoming to adults and families, you have to wait to be seated, but you don’t actually get seated by someone, you get told, you can have a seat over there, and seat yourself. At the time we went there was no actual physical menu, they use QRS codes for menu, so you scan that and look at the menu on your phone. I ordered the chicken and waffle with a hot chocolate and my guess ordered the beef Birria with bone marrow and some kind of pomegranate tea, which came in a tea press it was very cute. As I sat waiting for my food, I of course looked at all the food that the people ordered and I must say their food presentation is on point, all the food looked pretty. The Beef Birria, was tender and very tasty, I just wish you could order some rice to come with it. My guest really enjoyed their tea and they give you enough to make at least 2 cups right there at the table , When you order the chicken and waffles, you get a half fried chicken and the chicken was seasoned and flavored, and it was cooked well, it’s hard to describe the flavor of the chicken. It’s certainly different. It reminds me of some Asian or Thai grilled chicken that I’ve had before, so it was seasoned and savory, but it had a sweet honey sauce drizzled on top of it. It wasn’t bad but it was different but it was still good at the same time. I know it’s a weird description I’m giving you… Lol, my hot chocolate was cute and tasty. It says on the menu that is three different kind of chocolate and you can definitely taste the quality of the hot chocolate. It feels like a dark hot chocolate so it’s not very sweet, I had to add an extra sugar at the table but it’s delicious. I will most definitely be going back to try other things on the menu. I didn’t even get around to trying the waffle because I was just all into the chicken… Lol if I order the chicken and waffle again, I most definitely will tell them to put my chicken to the side and not on top of my waffle. I suggest you do the same if you go on the chicken smashes the waffle and then they drizzle that honey sweet sauce you might not want that to mix with your waffles. I think this is a great place to bring a date, for maybe breakfast or something.

Thursday, 10/02/2025 - Tried Tata's Cafe. Address is 12627 Hawthorne Blvd, Hawthorne, CA 90250. When we arrived, there is a very busy street in the front and the restaurant door is there. But there is a sign that points you that the entrance into the restaurant is in the back of the building. There is no large restaurant name in the front. For a few minutes, we couldn't find the restaurant and thought maybe they shut down. If you're not from this area, you wouldn't know. Luckily, I got out of the car and decided to walk around the building to double check. And there it was, the door that pointed us to the back of the building. They were not closed down! Phew! :D Upon arrival... Pros 1) when we arrived, there was plenty of parking. It was easy to get parking. 2) I love all the cute decorations in the restaurant. Restaurant is like 240 square feet. Estimated. 3) you must wait to get seated. Only in door seating. 4) I saw only 2 lovely ladies working. Servers were very nice. Seating people, taking orders, bringing foods out, and cleaning up tables. 5) Foods were great. Pancake was nice and fluffy and Monte Cristo was delicious. Over medium eggs made perfect. You must ask for salt and pepper. It's not on the table. 6) no hand held menu. Must scan QR code for menu. There is a kids menu online. 7) restaurant looked clean. 8) only 1 bathroom for both men and women. 1 stall. Door locks. Cons 1) service was slow. You need to have patience. Maybe it's because we came at lunch time. 2) water had a weird taste. The cute yellow mug I got for my water had a weird smell in it. I tried putting my tea in it to see if it'll hide the smell and the funky taste. That still did not work. 3) restaurant was hard to find. Conclusion We like this restaurant. Although it was hard to find (there was no visible signage to help), water tasted weird and service slow; staffs were nice, foods tasted great and restaurant decorations were so cute! We will definitely will have to come back here again and try a different dish.

Great breakfast/lunch spot! Clean and family friendly. Parking and entrance are located in the back. Was greeted right at the door by Christian. The server was Maria, excellent service. It was almost 10 am. when I arrived, so the crowd was just starting to roll in. Seating is spacious and accommodating, even for large groups. The mimosa and latte were delicious 😋 I had the eggs and potatoes with chicken sausages. (Sausages were burnt near perfect!) And the specialty pancake sampler! Peach cobbler, blueberry, pecan, and banana. Each comes with its on flavored butter. They were a bit cold when they came to the table but tasty nevertheless. Peach cobbler was my favorite. Would definitely recommend. 8.9/10👍

This spot doesn’t seem like much outside but inside it’s a different vibe. We waited a little over an hour. Once we got ordered we did notice that people who were sat after us were getting their food before us. However, when we did get our food, it was delicious. Made to order and so much flavor. We also ordered a strawberry lemonade and in my opinion it is by far the best one I’ve had. Now knowing wait time info, I can plan better for another visit.

The restaurant entrance is in the back or at least that's how it feels. Once you get it someone tells you to sit where you want. The decor and atmosphere is good. The hot chocolate was not so sweet, so to me it was really delicious 😋 The beef birria was so good, as fir the steak & fries... the steak was good but i wish they would use sreak fries instead of shoestring fries. Also i think the plate was too dry.... maybe add tomatoes or beans would be a good touch, i had to scoop some birria from my partners plate. The customer service was ok, but i strongly advise don't go within about an hour of their closing time. We unfortunately found ourselves sitting in the middle of employees sweeping & mopping the dining area around us as we were there within their last hourod closing. This is the reason for the 4 stars. We would eat here again, but earlierin the day, I even told the lady that checked us out about our concern.

The food here was good but the service was very slow. On a Wednesday morning, my boyfriend and I waited for 17 minutes for someone to come greet us and provide a menu at the table. Later, when a waiter came to help, she was clearly not listening to my order as she stopped to engage in another conversation behind her and also asked me the same questions multiple times. From there, it took 32 minutes to get the food. Throughout our meal, no one came to check on us and we had to flag two different people for our check. I did like my matcha latte and the loaded tater tots were quite filling. Overall, I recognize that service can be slow due to numerous factors, but the inattention and lack of any communication made this dining experience unsatisfactory.

Absolutely amazing atmosphere and people, overhyped, flavorless, and tasteless food. Yesterday we went to Tata’s Cafe when we noticed a long line of people outside almost every time we went go to charge the car. Yesterday our server was amazing and kind, we ordered the Chorizo burrito and Birria Chilaquiles along with a side of bacon and eggs. When we got our food it was a 10/10 for the visual. But as I tasted the chorizo I noticed it had no chorizo flavor or strong and bold seasonings, ontop of that the potatoes tasted like they were sitting out for a while before getting put into the burrito. The birria chilaquiles was even more overhyped. The birria was tasteless and another herb was overpowering the birria instead. Beautiful presentation of food, amazing service, but the food was overhyped. I would return not for the food, but for the atmosphere.

So, ok. If I wait for over an hour for my online order, maybe it's my fault. Maybe I should have just reversed the charges. I was staying at the hotel next door and wanted chilaquiles. Maybe its my mistake. Either way, don't order online with these folks, and don't expect decent service. I ordered through menufy, and when I checked in, the hostess said it would be 10 minutes. OK. No problem. Waited for 15 minutes. Asked the same hostess about my order. She said she'd check on it. Another 15 minutes. Checked in with the waitress again...and she said she guessed the order never went in. By this point, my credit card had been charged. My kids were waiting on food, so I didn't have time to go somewhere else at this point. Finally got my food after 25 minutes. As I was sitting, on average, the wait is 30-40 minutes here for the people i saw dining in. The place looks nice, but the service here is slow and inefficient. The food is good here. The chilaquiles were delicious. My kids loved the French toast. But the service here is such garbage, that unless you like sitting around, go elsewhere. Being in LA, there are so many options with food that is just as good but with waaaaay better service.
