This Shipleys in Madisonville is by far my favorite! It is unlike any other Shipleys. Donuts are soft and sweetly glazed. The texture is on point with perfect pastry. Kolaches breading is very light and buttery becomes mouth watering when bitten into it and your mouth feels that cheesy burst. 😋 Always on our way up we try to stop here and get a box full of everything. This last trip we went to Frisco coming from Katy. Last 4 trips this year we have stopped by lol. We tried catching them on the way home, but had closed. Until next time...

Very clean! The owners are so nice and our donuts were Shipley’s delicious!! Yum!! The kolache was delicious! An added bonus, the nice boutique western store next door! Great experience all the way around! Yum!

I never understood the craze over their glazed doughnuts until I had a fresh out the fryer doughnut. The crips outside and fluffy center is nearly magical. My second favorite is the maple doughnut. The staff is always friendly and after a few visits they remember your order to a T.

Just grabbed some food for the road from this location. The guy that took care of me was awesome and very friendly. Been eating Shipley Donuts (Shirley's, iykyk) my entire life, and these were probably the best Shipley kolaches that I've ever been served.

Always wonderful!!! Love the Chocolate filled, Plain glazed and Cinnamon twist. I try to stop every time I pass one and get some. My favorite place for donuts since I was young. I don't really care for any other places. It was hard at first going in and not ordering Mom's Apple 🍎🍏 Fritters. Those were her favorites, that's what I always got her. She became I'll and I lost her in October. Maybe next time I will get one and enjoy it for her, in memory of my Mom. ❤️😇💋🤗🙏🌹❤️

Full 5 starts. I got a jalapeño sausage and cheese kolaches with a chocolate filled. Bread is soft and moist. I'm from Houston, and I haven't had a good kolache from Shipleys in a good while since before covid, and this one definitely hot the spot. Thank you. Ps I forgot to take a picture because I was enjoying it so much.

We were driving Dallas to Houston and just stopped for coffee. And was very positive stop! Donuts were extremely delicious! Not too big but very tasty! One of the best donuts I've eaten! Definitely a place to visit!

Everything tasted good but my ham and cheese kolache had one thin piece ham. The jalapeño sausage was better.

Ordered 6 jalapeño kolaches only to find out later that they only gave us 5. I know, with things the way that things are today, I should have checked. Buyer beware of getting ripped off at this donut shop.

I observed that when a woman politely notified the male employee that the dispenser was out of soap, he treated her very rudely. This made no sense, as I am 100% sure that her tone and demeanor were polite and respectful. The way his tone came off sounded like he believed that she believed herself to be royalty, despite the fact that she was dressed like a tomboy and looked the opposite of being dressed up. The only hypothesis I can ascertain is that her rainbow shoelaces were a trigger for him. Another issue I had was how there was a female of another race in the establishment who was treated better than her, which I believe had everything to do with the fact that that woman's presence was gaining financial opportunity for the two employees in the establishment. I feel very strongly against racism, and I hope the gentleman pictured below has found it in his heart to have no respect of persons when it comes to treating everyone with decency and respect. Else, I pray he has been found out and that the situation has been handled by the appropriate personnel.

I showed up at 4:50 in the morning and waited for them to open at their supposed time which is 5:00 a.m. 5:00 a.m. comes along and they're still not open. I called and asked what time did they open at the man said 5:00 a.m. I asked are y'all open right now and he said no because the lady that open hasn't shown up yet. So I asked again what time are y'all open then he said maybe around 5:30 a.m. which is 30 minutes past supposed open time. Unacceptable

The website showed the shop as closed, but it was open in person, which was misleading. There was no greeting or friendly customer service, just a very nonchalant interaction. The donuts were dry and tasted like plain bread with minimal glaze, and the pig in a blanket had a lot of gristle. Overall, the experience was disappointing.
