Opinions de San Luis Madrid
Una universidad americana en un edificio que destaca dentro del entorno universitario
I’ve been studying at the Madrid campus for 2 years now and it has been a great experience. I like having the small community on campus within the big city environment. The campus itself is really nice, and the multicultural professors and students mean classes are full of diverse opinions and experiences.
I just recently graduated from Saint Louis University after spending all four undergraduate study years at the Madrid Campus. I can honestly say these have been the best four years of my studies. I enjoyed all that the university had to offer; whether it was the excellent professors or the amazing friends I've made, SLU-Madrid will always hold a special place in my heart.
I came to Madrid to study abroad for only one semester, and I was so impressed with the close-knit environment at SLU Madrid that I transferred universities so I could complete my degrees here. (Obviously I fell in love with Madrid, too.) But two years later, I know without a doubt that it was the right choice for me. The personal relationships with my professors and advisors remind me that the faculty at SLU Madrid are more than just educators--they are mentors and friends who truly want to see their students succeed. So happy that I made the choice to study here.
I have had an amazing time at SLU Madrid getting to experience the Spanish culture as well as a lively student life. The classes are very well taught and highly recommend speaking with an admissions counselor about coming here for a full time undergraduate degree or studying abroad at this campus.
Felicidades!!!

I graduated in 2019 with a degree in International Business, and my time at Saint Louis University Madrid Campus was hands down some of the best years of my life. This campus is truly special—it’s not just a place to study; it’s a place where you grow, connect, and experience the world in one of the most multicultural environments you could ask for. The diversity on campus is incredible. You’re surrounded by people from all over the world, which makes every conversation, class, and group project feel like a global experience. It’s not just about learning; it’s about gaining a new perspective on everything. As for academics, the Business and Economics programs are solid. They really prepare you for the real world, with a perfect mix of theory and practical learning. Shout out to some of the amazing professors who made my time there unforgettable: Marta Moreno (Operations Management/Statistics) David Howden (Economics) Gonzalo Moreno (Marketing) Laura Muro (Accounting) Paolo Saona (Finance) Xavier Cottini (Accounting) Patrice Burns (Public Speaking) Pablo Swedberg (Economics) Marjory Hutchison (English) Timothy Ryan Day (English) These professors weren’t just great at teaching—they were genuinely invested in helping us succeed. If you’re thinking about studying International Business or just want a global education in a vibrant city, this is the place to be. I’ll always be grateful for my time at SLU Madrid, and I can’t recommend it enough.
Attending a university in central Madrid is life changing and has many benefits, but attending an American university abroad such as Saint Louis University-Madrid Campus is even better! On and off campus, everyday I experience a multicultural environment. Students are from around the world and my professors are as well. Having this diversity brings many great conversations to the table and allows all of us to learn from each other and make a connection. I have met so many people in my major that have given me a different outlook on things because of our diversity and interest to learn from each other. The campus staff are welcoming and helpful and the facilities are accommodating. I would recommend attending or studying abroad at this university because Saint Louis University-Madrid Campus has so much to offer.
Going into my 3rd year, I could not be happier with my decision to study international business at SLU-Madrid. The incredibly diverse, yet small, classes allow for fantastic discussion and have helped me to develop a much broader perspective of our ever-globalizing world. Professors and staff are also always available to help and truly go above and beyond.
Great professors, interesting curriculum, but the only thing is... this school is built for study aborads. If you're only going to be here for a semester, this school is made for you. It's perfect. But as a permanent student, I feel like the sheer quantity of study aborads (in all honesty) brings down the quality of classes. I am a communication major. I know that there's only so many ways you can talk about communication theories before it gets redundant. But from what I remember, in each of my communication classes, we talk about the same 5 theories--and we go all over everything again, from the beginning. I don't know everything of course, but my guess is that the curriculum needs to cater to the study abroads that are the majority in each class, and we can't assume that they all know all of these theories. But to go over and over the same 5 theories again and again... I feel like there is so much potential to get into the nitty-gritty, or the crazy fun theories, but instead we're re-learning about Grice's maxims in a 3000, 4000 level CMM class. Again, I know that this school could not survive without study abroads, since realistically they're the main financial input here. But perhaps, if there were a few more class requisites (maybe stricter ones?) for the upper level CMM classes, there would be more intellectual exercise for permanent students as well as study abroads. (and it gets even more frustrating when those study abroads don't take their coursework seriously because they're here to travel europe, not study. Totally understandable ofc, I'd do the same thing, but... you can understand the frustration, when you're here to learn.) Also to be fair, I have no idea how the requirements work for the study abroads. Maybe they do have strict requirements from their home institutions. I have no idea about that side of admissions. But truly, I have never had such amazing professors. The curriculim IS engaging, and the majority of my professors have a firey passion in their hearts for what they teach. The office staff are always there to help, and they always take the time to make sure students are all good in ALL areas of life, not just academically. But the lack of strict pre-requisites (and the quantity of study abroads) in upper level CMM classes (and probably other areas of study), at least in my point of view, brings down the academic potential of the university as a whole.
