Very delicious tapas place! Staff was nice as well as soon as we entered the restaurants we were taken to a clothed table (not sure if that is standard or not) but just something to keep in mind of if you wanted to sit at the bar (that is also an option) but if you don't say anything you will be taken to a normal table (for us it was fine as i did not want to sit at those high bar stools) We went here as our first meal after landing in Madrid (found it on google maps) and it definitely did not dissappoint! we ordered the steak with padrons and fries and some pulpo and croquettes. the steak portion is very big so if you don't have a big appetite you're better off ordering tapas but for us this was great to eat! it was juicy and pairs well with the padron peppers...can be shared by two people! Pricewise definitely not bad and it was nice to have some sangria with my first meal. If you're an tourist definitely try this restaurant (it's in the Gran via street where most tourist get their hotels anyways) give it a shot
We tried the shellfish rice and shellfish is definitely a keyword! It was more than enough for two people, had lots of flavor and the price seemed reasonable for what we got (19 euro per person). We tried the ham croquettes as well, they were tasty and gooey. The sangria was okay, had better ones at other places. Had to wait aound 25-30 mins for the rice but they warned us about it and it was a busy Friday night.
Very easy to find and close to my hotel. You can eat at the bar or the table. The guy Anthony is very friendly and helpful, he recommended the rice with lobster and it was delicious. It is a big portion and already enough for 2 persons. And also we have tried the fried seafood, it was quite fresh and tasty. There are also choices for local pork sausages and ham, which is also very tasty. The restaurant has a lot of seat and you can also pay with credit card. The service fee is also listed and included in the bill.
The food and service was amazing!!!!!! Our server anthony was spectacular. Everything was so delicious, 10/10 recommend. We had the seafood and chicken paella, the entrecôte tray, the fried fish assortment, and the scallops (so amazing). Super tasty and filled with flavor. I’d come back again and again!!!
My mom and I have been to TapaSpaña three times and each time has been more amazing than the last. The sangria is amazing and the food it’s an 11/10. John is the friendliest person and always made sure to check to make sure everything was perfect. The price, food, and service is excellent. If you’re ever in Madrid, please come to TapaSpaña! You will not be disappointed, and say “hola” to John for me ♥️

We did not have much time, so we ordered classic ones: huevos estrellados, bread with tomato, raw ham and ham croquetes. Everything was absolutely delicious, service was nice and efficient.

Anthony welcomed us, gave recommendations and made us feel like we belonged. Fantastic service and good food. Paul Newman and Pedro were a joy to meet. Great experience!
I came here for fried seafood and beer. Had two different servers—one great, one not so great (hence my rating for the service). 30 € is on the high side for a small dish and some beer, but satisfied a craving. I’d probably still come back anyway. 😋
This was our first restaurant in Madrid. The location is just right outside of plaza Espana on Grand Via. Very easy accessible and visible location. It was very touristy but still with Spanish flair. There was Menu del Dia but it was not serving when we went at 1230pm. It was too early. However, we stayed because we were hungry. The service was quick but with straight face, no smiles. The food was good but not memorable. The price was a little high due to the popular location, it was expected. Good for a quick fix with good view if you sit by the window.
Orders: Seafood and Chicken Paella (good for 3) Fried Baby squid Grilled sea bass Callos Bread For 5 people, we didn’t expect that we ordered one too many. The paella serving for 3 seemed to be good for 5 people! It was tasty and packed with shrimp and chicken. We also requested for it to be ‘sin sal’ or no salt. The grilled sea bass was perfectly seasoned while the baby squid batter is light and crunchy. While our server is nice, communication is a bit difficult since he doesn’t speak english. Also, the place is huge. We have elders with us so preference is a regular table, not high chair or bar. We just didn’t expect it will be underground so stairs is a bit of a challenge for them. But otherwise, the ambiance of the place is lively and it was very near our hotel too. In terms of price, it was almost double of the paella we paid for in Barcelona (about 20euro per person). As for the other viands, it was reasonably priced. Total bill is 160 euro for 5 people. Learnings - had we known that the paella serving was that huge, we could have ordered just for 2, and could have foregone the bread for the callos.
Straight forward restaurant I had the ox tail it was good. A lot of locals eat here so not touristic. Near the square with Cervantes monument
Avoid! Nothing spectacular about this place. Ordered chicken paela but ...with many tiny, sharp chicken bones in the rice. Mentioned this to the waiter. No interest from his side.

Warning : this restaurant has a suspiciously high number of 5-stars by profiles with only 1-2 reviews. Manipulating the Google algorithm. We arrived late so we went with the conveniently near. This restaurant has all the hallmarks of a tourist trap with food pictures in the entrance and high prices. While the prices are high (because it is in a high trafic area), the food and service were surprisingly good. The grilled calamaris was the standout dish but I would argue the fried seafood was also very well executed with a thin batter, flash fried, came in still hot from the oil bath. Wine selection was also very good. Service was quick, friendly and amicable. Recommended only if you are in the area. We would recommend until we saw so many 5-stars reviews by people with only review in their history so this restaurant may be paying for reviews to boost rating. Would be giving 4-stars but because of this manipulation, we would lower to 3-stars to average the fake reviews. P.S.: please leave a 👍 of this review was useful for you, thank you 🙏

Seafood paella was a huge disappointment. Tons of good reviews on it, but maybe I just got a bad batch. Extremely salty, rice was cooked to porridge texture, and the seafood tasted very, very old. Waiter was helpful, but he also hovered over the table constantly. Appearance and mannerisms reminded me of Paulie from The Sopranos. I thought it was funny, my wife did not.
