This is really a gem of a restaurant. The food is delicious and authentic and the service is warm and friendly and very efficient. Prices are reasonable, portions are large, then we always have a great time there.

Absolutely amazing Mexican restaurant. Went in yesterday night. Felt authentic and had a ambience unmatchable by any ordinary restaurant. The bachata music layered the air with a wholesome and smooth feeling (not too overpowering). Our server was Leo, very kind and gave off a very welcoming and friendly impression. My friend and I ordered the burrito supreme fajitas and horchata. I ordered a second horchata because it was absolutely the best I’ve had in a while, even had a soft and subtle bubble gum-like sweetness. The portions were more than generous, and despite the size, the burrito itself was still just as delicious, so no need to worry about quality or quantity, I can assure you that you’ll be covered with both. Overall what I appreciated the most was that it was an authentic Mexican restaurant with a atmosphere that proved it. Would definitely recommend going. I know I’ll be going again very soon!!!!!

Food is great, can't beat the price, especially on the lunch specials. The woman working the front of house was super sweet and helpful. Another customer actually took my food by accident as I was running to another store while waiting for my to go order and they replaced it quickly while being super apologetic (even though it wasn't their fault, she just didn't listen when they told her which bag was her's 🤷) I will definitely be going back

Dinner combo number 1 has enchiladas and a mini quesadilla, chicken is good for this. Chips, salsa and guacamole were good, came with rice, refried beans and a small salad.

Me and my family LOVE coming here especially because of our server Carlos, everytime he services us our experience is amazing. He is very attentive, super nice, friendly and helpful!. We love their drinks, some of our favorite dishes are their Molcajete, nachos & their fried ice cream is so good! among other things, it's always delicious. If you come here definitely you MUST ask for Carlos he will make sure you're well taken care of every time with his awesome service. We will keep coming back even more because of him!!

Went here for the first time the other night and I really enjoyed myself. The atmosphere is fantastic, food is authentic tasting, and the service was great. My friends and I did not feel rushed and our server let us take our time. I suggest making a reservation if you plan on having dinner on a popular night (Friday or Saturday), it was busy the whole time and there were a lot of birthday celebrations. We had a good time!

I have to say, I've worked at many fine dining Mexican restaurants, I've eaten in many Mexican restaurants, and I can say that this place is in my Top 5 of best and must try! First, you are greeted with a smile and everyone says hello. Once you sit you are able to really take in the amazing ambiance of the Mexican culture, from Aztec miniature statues to other beautiful art work. The service was amazing, very kind and friendly staff all around, we had our waiter and when he was busy, other people came to check on us or ask if we needed anything, that is A+ service. Now, the FOOD! It was tasty and amazing, the steak was cooked to perfection, even the chips which you can tell they make there, were amazing, but their salsa was to die for. Their plantains were fried to perfection, I recommend having them add graded Mexican cheese over it which really adds to the flavor. The fried ice cream is a stunner, they do it Flambe style which added to the great evening, it's prepared on a dish of rum, lit, and then drizzled with chocolate and raspberry. This place is a must try, they know how to run a business and it shows with every detail, every dish, every smile! VIA MEXICO!

Drinks were strong and food was good. We went Cinco De Mayo, line out the door when we left but plenty of seating at 5 pm. I had the vegetarian enchiladas which were rolled with lightly cooked vegetables, unusual but healthy. Nice rice, beans, the wraps are authentic and I loved that. I didn’t feel like as though they had gone into stop and shop and had gotten a taco kit. My friend had Chilies Releos which were mild at her request and yum. We made the mistake of ordering a second margarita but they were big and next time I will pace myself. They are $14 apiece for the regular no ice with salt rim. That is what bumped up our bill. Don’t regret it, we also had the guacamole which we both voted excellent. They bring you chips and salsa right away and the food comes fast.

Great to take someone on a date. The ambiance was nice, the menu had many choices and the services was great. We went for lunchtime and it was not crowded. We were able to get a parking space a few stores down, bit depending what time you go you may have to walk, but not much.

Finally able to check this gem off of the wife and I’s bucket list. So happy we did! The food was excellent. We are in Mexico often and always look for that authentic flavor. Living in Scarsdale we struggle finding a place La Herradura. If your considering Mexican for dinner we implore you to hop in your car, uber or bus and get here ASAP. The staff is polite, attentive and were there at just the right time to help make the dinner that much better.

A lovely Mexican restaurant with the usual selection of entrees. I had their Mile Poblano burrito and my friend an enchilada selection. I found the mole sauce a little sweet, but the burrito and enchiladas were excellent.

Have to delete one star. I have visited once before and had a good experience eating on premises. Second time on a spur of the moment takeout order. Love the interior decor here. Food is also excellent, especially the fresh table side guac. My only complaint here is the service. On some visits our waiter/waitress is super attentive and comes around in a timely manner. On other visits we have had to flag someone down constantly and waited a significant amount of time to order drinks, then food, etc.

Stopped in with a friend and wanted something good to eat. We got a few of their steak tacos but found this cauldron of greatness I highly recommend. It’s called a Molcajete. It brings steaks, shrimp, chicken, and Dominican fried cheese in a this hot cauldron right to your table. It’s by far my favorite item here paired with a frozen passion fruit margarita and a side a guacamole. Get your Mexican food from this place in Mamaroneck. You won’t be displeased.

This food is more like tex-mex. I got bistec en salsa verde, it was not salsa it was green tomato sauce, it was not spicy at all. The nachos were good with 4 flavors 2 spicy and 2 no spicy. The lemonade tasted old and not natural made. Though the service was good.

Waiters and witnesses were great. Drinks were awesome definitely come back when we want to have a few drinks. Food was amazing and a lot of it. Menue selection seem to go on forever, could not figure out what we wanted to many choices. In the end we ordered way to much food plates were oversized but no complaints

The food was pretty good! What will stick with me however were the sticky, dirty menus and the lack of service. What a shame - great location, ok food, crappy service, dirty menus (food actually stuck between pages on most of our 5 menus).

One time occassion for us. Rice was only 2 tablespoons. Ordered a shrimp dish, but was served some kind of fish fillet. Ate it because I do not discard food.

We ordered pickup which was late. The chicken enchiladas verdes were terrible. They had grilled chicken strips that were hard to chew instead of shredded chicken and it was inedible.

My family has been there with friends five times, and the food was good, until last time. My son found a plastic clothing price tag in his mouth from the taco salad. The waiter offered to replace the salad which my son being naive declined. The waiter should have taken action without asking. No tip and may or may not go there again....

My family and I just had dinner at the La Herradura in Mamaroneck. In the middle of our dinner they started cleaning up and moving tables. The waitress told us that the restaurant is closed now because they have a wedding coming in. Nobody told us when we walked in that we will be rushed through dinner. We also ordered a dish to go. It was dry, overcooked and guacamole and sour cream was missing. Our food was ok, but we had to gobble it down and it felt very unpleasant being there. So much for a nice Sunday evening out with the family. We will probably not go back. Very unfortunate, for it used to be a nice place to go.

Not authentic Mexican food. I had 4 tacos that were just okay, not flavorful. The guacamole lacked flavor as well. The margaritas (1 mango, 1 passion fruit) were were very weak, I felt I was having just juice. I prefer authentic, traditional Mexican food, so I won't be returning to La Herradura.

Called the GM regarding a mistake on my bill which was $195 and was supposed to be $101 and basically hung up the phone on me, called me a drunk and didn't solve anything for me. Couldn't even take accountability for the staff's mistakes. I had to call my bank to dispute the charge. Won't be going back ever... Tequila sunrise in larchmont wont disappoint, go there.

Margarita was good, food was good. Couldn't get over how many flies there were sitting at the bar. It's February, those flies are feeding and breeding somewhere. Turns my stomach to think what it could be. I won't be back.

Service is good however the only good dish in our meal was the Tamal. We ordered the "el Patron": grilled steak, chicken and shrimp, but the sauce was very salty and the piece of steak was so small (half of a deck of cards) it was not worth the 19$ we paid for it. The (enchiladas 3 amigos) was good but again over salted... However, what really through me off is that I clearly tasted how The salsa was made with canned tomatoes-salsa is supposed to be made fresh - unless you are getting it canned at the grocery store. Ive tried better Mexican restaurants and this is definitely not one of them.

When you first walk in to this restaurant the atmosphere and design are wonderful. I wish I could say the same about the food. Pollo mole was pounded so thin that it was totally dry. The cutlet should have been served whole. Adding to that, the side dishes of refried beans and rice were so skimpy, I mean rice and beans for Christ sake. I won't return to this restaurant.

Food quality has really gone down hill. The food is not cooked as fresh and well as before. Food portions are very small. I called around 9:15 pm on 9/15/22 and a women pick up. I explained my issue and she kept repeating if I wanted a refund to call uber and totally missed the point of working on relating the message to management or cook to work on there food quality. The lady was very rude and hung up phone. Definitely lost a consistent customer who was ordering from you for the past 6 months. Will tell all local neighbors throughout Harrison and Mamaroneck of this experience. That poor service explains the poor cooking quality lately.

The food and service is good here, along with the decor. I stopped going when they added a 20% gratuity to the bill for a table of 5. We've always gone with 3-5 people and never had that added. I usually tip 20% or greater of total bill, including tax. Then when they gave me the credit receipt, they had the tip suggestions for a bill that already had the 20% gratuity included. They didn't inform me of any of this, and I didn't question. I'll just stop going. Plenty of good Mexican food places around Mamaroneck.

I was a customer of this place for many years. Went today with family and was very disappointed. The restaurant is dirty. Women’s bathroom is dirty and dark. The food was cold. Chips were stale. The place fell off. Don’t waste your money !

We had a party of 6 ppl. Waitress took more than 30 min to go to the table.. waitress was not professional. We ask for margaritas and the margaritas was light and tasted like water with lemon. We ask the waitress and she said " there no change to the margaritas because we were the only guest that said it was light.. and besides that's was the way the bartender make it...m waitstaff needs more training..

Even though the food at this establishment is good, the service is absolutely appalling. Jose, one of the servers at the Mamaroneck restaurant caused my partner and I to no longer come back. His lack of respect, manners and commitment to ensure costumer satisfaction is far from professional. When I ordered my drink, he got it wrong twice in a row and when I asked why there was no salt on my margarita glass, he said "If you want more, there is the salt shaker!." I recommend that you do not have him as your server as he will not change the glass of your drink, will just pour the same drink mix and not even wash the original glass.. This is alarming since hygiene is outmost importance in the troubled times we are currently living. We are trying to enjoy what little this pandemic is allowing us and having to have such negative experience at something so enjoyable as to have dinner with loved ones, it just leaves you speechless. I advised my friends and family not go support his business any longer. I do feel bad for the proprietor since he/she may not be aware of the circumstances. I was not even able to speak with a manager.

Place is always busy and food looks good from afar as you walk by. Looks can however be deceiving and this establishment proves that in spades. Tables and chairs are old and dirty and the food served was barely edible. Dishes were made with poor quality ingredients, very greasy, oversalted, missing basic Mexican flavor one would expect, with salsa that tasted like canned tomatoes and drinks that were watered down. This all adds up to an overpriced experience you quickly want to forget and never repeat again.

For starters , the guac was a good portion. However, it had no flavor. I'm a Latina and loves her Latin flavors! My dish - The Alambre de Camarones- No Flavor!! It had so many onions, red & green peppers, and no flavor in sight. I had to add ground pepper, cuman, a little adobo, and some paprika. My daughter had the same dish but she went with the mix. Comes w shrimp, schicken and steak. I told her not to because you never get a good portion of each meat/fish. It's unfortunate

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! The service is terrible and the waiters all had attitudes and were acting prejudice. My date and I were the only African American people inside of the establishment and they treated us different. We were given old and dirty clear cups while everyone else around us had regular red cups or glasses even if they just were for drinking water. They made us wait a whole thirty minutes before serving us and the place was empty. STAY AWAY IT'S NOT WORTH IT.

My husband and I decided to try this restaurant amid the many choices in Mamaroneck Avenue. What a bad choice! The food was terrible. It started with the standard chips and salsa given out before ordering. The salsa was actually tomato sauce! And this same red sauce was used on the burrito I ordered, which gave it an awful taste. Secondly, my husband ordered tacos and the meat was tasteless. The beans used in the food were straight from a can with absolutely no seasoning. On top of that, service was slow. Although the waitress was pleasant, she took long in getting napkins and water out. My husband and I have not had such a bad experience in a restaurant in a long time, but unfortunately we made a decision on a whim that cost us almost $100. Definitely DO NOT go here.

If I could give 0 stars I would. We didn’t even get acknowledged when we came in to be seated. We waited 10 minutes JUST to ask if they would take our names down, waited 40 minutes to be seated. Waited 45 min to get our food cold. came in at 7 and ate at 9pm.. This was the worst service I have ever gotten in my entire life. My mom asked for water and we watched as the waiter went and talked to his buddy at the bar. We were trying to get another servers attention and she pretended she didn’t hear us. The food isn’t even great, if you could go to any other place, go. Taco Bell would probably be better. Don’t waste your time and money. Tip was included. $30 for something I would not have left a penny for.

I went with my family to celebrate a family members birthday. There wasn’t a lot of people and it took them almost an hour for my food to be served and the food was warm and cold on some parts. I used to go there in the past and was happy with their service but not anymore. What supposed to be a nice family birthday dinner turned into a sour one.

I’ve visited this restaurant about five or six times their service is pretty good, the ambiance and the decoration is very cozy. Two days ago I went there for dinner with a good friend and ordered my regular drinks which I really love how they make, coconut Mojito‘s then followed to ordering our dinner when the waitress came over I specified that I like my steak well done when I received my dinner the steak was not well done I refuse to send back. At the moment of payment I explain to them that the steak was not well done and they offered me a dessert and of course I said no. They never offer me a discount on my bill due to the fact that the waitress said she went to the kitchen and ask the chef and the chef said he didn’t make it well done and it was basically their fault. I believe their customer service should be much better especially if you want the guest to return to their restaurant , sometimes a little bit goes a long way. I will definitely continue to go for the drinks but I was very disappointed by the food.

Absolutely horrible service! Waited forty minutes to be seated. Was first in line. A couple who arrived at least 20 minutes after me was seated about 10 minutes before me. This is the second time I have eaten here, and it is the second time the service has been awful! To make matters worse, I paid the bill with a gift that I had purchased from them in September of 2020. The waiter came back and said the card was declined and never activated. Fortunately, I still had the receipt with the gift card from when I purchased it. He went away and came back saying the gift card has to be used within a year. I asked to speak to the manager. I asked him where it stated this either on the receipt or on the gift card. He said it did not. I asked how would I know that then. He said it is their policy. I then asked about the New York State law that requires gift cards to be valid nine years from the date of purchase (it was actually five years when I purchased it, but has since been increased to nine.). He again told me that their policy was they are good for one year. Not only is their service AWFUL, BUT THEY ARE ALSO VIOLATING THE LAW! His response was “It’s OK.”

If I could give it zero stars I would. We ordered a few drinks, and the lady spilt one all over my boyfriend…. didn’t even apologize just laughed and walked away. Service was terrible took forever for anybody to come over to the table whether It was to ask how our food was or if we needed anything else. The food wasn't even really that good. Got the check and everything was on the bill even the drink they spilled all over my boyfriend. Such terrible customer service. How do you spill a drink on someone and still charge them for that drink? Will never go back!!!!

Had a 20% service fee added to a bill of 3 without any type of notice on the menu or by the server. Managers response was “they have to protect themselves on Cinco de Mayo”. Needless to say, will not go back. Service was terrible. All the food came out cold, including the Fajitas which should’ve been sizzling (that’s half of why you order them isn’t it?). Best part, we were chased down the street by the same manager for .90. Sad.

I HATE to write negative reviews, but this is a sorry excuse of a poor run establishment. My wife made a reservation for 20 people for Easter at 11:00 for a baptism party. She went back and forth over the details with a girl named Maria two months ago who spoke to her boss and said it would be $25 per person and we could bring our own cake. She just called the restaurant right now to confirm our reservation and was told by Maria that it was cancelled. She asked really? By who? Maria said I don't know, one of the staff members told me, my wife went on to explain that that was a mistake, that we certainly didn't cancel. She asked if we could simply be accommodated anyway. Well she proceeded to say they would be closed, so that wasn't possible. She asked to speak to the manager, Maria said she was the manager. She had no remorse whatsoever! The day before our baptism party and she could just care less. If they wanted to close they should've just been truthful and called us to let us know in advance. Instead they chose to be dishonest. How dare thy leave a loyal customer without a place to go, one day prior to an event booked two months in advance?? I will NEVER EVER enter this establishment again and I'll let all of my family and friends know to do the same.

Ordered 3 take out meals. Smelled delicious but was anything but. The food was dry and tasteless. Salsa taste like tomato sauce. The best part were the avocado slices. Definitely not worth the money. I've had much better. Will never waste my money again.

Went there New Year Eve with 8 people at 7pm. Had a reservation. First food arrived at 8pm. 3 of the entrees were wrong. We asked for the manager because the waiter argued with us instead of helping us. Food was garbage. Service was terrible. Stuff happens and I understand but they could have easily fixed it so our new year dinner wasnt ruined. There are many good restaurants in Mamaroneck to go to on the avenue this is NOT one of them. You were warned.

Second time I came here. The service we got was terrible. We waited a long time to be offered any drinks and when we put our order in it took even longer to get the drinks. They also forgot one drink which was bought almost at the end of our meal along with another food ordere that was forgotten after many reminders. The waiter was rude and almost seemed as if we were bothering him.The food was disgusting, it was cold and flavorless. It is a “Mexican food” restaurant no way that is not Mexican food. The place smelled like dirty bathroom. We do not recommend this place for eating “Mexican food” at. Terrible.

From the moment we walked in everyone there ignored us. The place was not busy at all, yet I had to go find someone to sit us down. My friend brought me here a week ago for my birthday. I had a really good experience and the food was really good. Our service was great. Sadly I stopped by yesterday for my father’s bday and the service was horrible & so was the food. Order took forever to get taken. I asked for water and never got it. Food was very greasy and bland. Place was not busy and there was plenty of staff. No one checked in on us to see if we were ok or if we needed anything after the food arrived. I finally flagged someone down after we were done for the check. Plates were never cleared from the table and check was dropped. I’m a server and I’ve been doing it for 13 years and I would never drop a check at a messy table. Very unprofessional and very bad experience. First time I came everything was fine which is why I came by a second time but after this time I will not be back and I worn recommend it to anyone. I forgot to add that ladies restroom had no toilet paper and my daughter’s drink had a hair in it. Just horrible and awful. Never coming back.

The service was horrible. We waited for over 2 hours for a server to attend our table and take our order. I had to ask multiple times about our order that we placed and never got a clear answer. Other customers arrived after us and received their order before us. There was alot of avoidance when we asked about our order like they did not care at all. The situation was handled very unprofessional.

And I can see why they barely get any customers because their service is HORRIBLE. Once we placed the order for the food, it never came, literally. The cups were dirty which is unsanitary and the menus were very old and outdated. No one ever checked in after bringing us our drinks. The hostess didn’t seem to know where to seat us and seemed very disoriented. The drinks were horribly made and the water tasted like the faucet and I can clearly tell they don’t take any measures to purify the water or at least filter it. We left before the food even came, it clearly never was going to come. As frequent people who like to try new places and eat new foods, this place will never come back as an option for us. Not worth the time or money.

Pros: nice decor, pleasant atmosphere, clean and well maintained. Service is mostly attentive and very responsive. Cons: The food is bland at best. The fried items seem fried in old or overused oil. The guacamole is not fresh. Go for the picturesque background but leave to eat elsewhere.

The service was terrible. It was not busy. The waiter never came back to the table to see if everything was ok or to see if we wanted anything else ( not once!). It wasn't busy either. I saw them on their cell phones in the front area. The bus boy helped more than the waiter. The portions were much smaller than usual. We used to love this place. It's been a disappointment the last three times. Don't think we'll return again.

How do they stay in business. My chicken burito tasted like it was made hours ago. Very soggy. Same goes for the rice filling. Tasted more like mush. The side salad was the star of the show. Overall, a serious fail.

Ordered a $10 lunch special,#6, with rice, beans, salad, mini burrito and encilada . It only came with 2 encilada , both tasteless, small container of refried beans and tiny iceberg salad. It was inedible and I threw it out. I regretted trying it out because I usually go to Salsa Fresca nearby and very fresh and tasty.

Went with my husband and 3 Little kids We had to wait 30 mins to get the appetizer and the drinks. After that NOTHING. The restaurant had 4/5 tables and the staff just run around don’t even look at the tables/ clientele. We had to wait other 15 mins to get to order another beer. Other 15 mins to get the wrong one. Our kids were hungry and exhausted so we decided it was enough. We asked for the check and leave. Nobody came to apologize or ask what happened, I guess they are very used to have costumers leaving like that since the service is terrible. Disappointing and a waste of time especially if you has small children.
