Pittsburgh Blue - Maple Grove

10/10 always, staff is top notch, food is nothing less than perfect, lovely environment. It is our "go to" on Sundays whenever we fly into Minneapolis or when we are on our way out of MSP from a weekend of play. The photos are two of our many dishes we enjoyed on this most recent visit.

It was our third time dining at Pittsburgh Blue. They always have exllent food and selections. The server was very good about explaining every entre and what compliment them. It is also a hour and a half drive for us and we'll worth the drive.

This was absolutely delicious! I just went to Pittsburgh Blue to celebrate my dad and my husband's birthday! Our meal was $300 for 6 people, but definitely worth it. My stepmother has a gift card that covered it. We got things like the petite stake, stake, spicy chicken sandwich w/ fries, walleye, lobster roll w/ fries, fries, asparagus, and mushrooms. All the fries were parmesan fries and were delicious 😋! Our server was very nice and friendly! He offered us three strawberry cheesecakes, one for my dad, one for my husband, and the rest for the four others. The cheesecake was one of the best I've ever had, it was so dense and delicious! The atmosphere was beautiful and candle lit! I loved the decor and it was super big inside! Thank you Pittsburgh Blue! 💙

Pittsburgh Blue delivered an incredible dining experience from start to finish. Our server, Kyle, was outstanding—he painted such a vivid picture of each entrée that everything sounded irresistible. The salmon was meaty, perfectly tender, and full of flavor. The filet was even better, unbelievably tender and cooked to perfection. The chicken and arugula dish was fresh and delicious, and our daughter couldn’t get enough of the massive one-pound baked potato. The beets were absolutely incredible, and the strawberry cheesecake was the perfect sweet ending to a wonderful evening. An all-around fantastic meal with exceptional service. All in all the price was great for the meal and service.

We had wings for the appetizer which were pretty good. They are jumbo wings which I'm not a huge fan of but they were tasty. My partner and I both had ribeye and New York strip steaks which were cooked to perfection! I highly recommend adding the garlic and butter sauce. For sides, we got the mac and cheese and the loaded mashed potatoes which were both delicious! This place is always consistently great. Our server was also super sweet and brothers out dessert for my partner's birthday!

Cash out your 401K before you come here!! I have so many mixed feelings about this place!!! We went here on a date night and I have severe mixed feelings about it. As soon as we saw the prices on the menu, we should have left. NONE OF THE MEALS COME WITH A SIDE! No soup or salad, no choice of potato, just 1 single garlic buttered bread roll that's it!! The sides are large enough to be shared, but they're nearly $20 each! Our waitress came to our table right away and started asking if we wanted drinks and an appetizer, mind you we hadn't even looked at the menu yet! She felt very pushy to get something going for us right away, maybe it to hook you in so you don't leave when you see the prices. We ended up ordering the Bourbon Maple Bacon as an app, 8 chunks of thick cut bacon for $22. (We justified it since we had a free babysitter). Our waitress was only there to take our order, she didn't ask us why where there, she didn't ask us if it was our first time. Not that either of those are important, but we saw other staff asking their tables and comping them free dessert to celebrate an anniversary & bringing over cold steak samples and explaining the different cuts of meat & how it's cooked (like what is "Pittsburgh Blue" style?) -like a wine somelie, but for steak. I ended up having to ask the guy bussing the tables to fill our waters because our waitress was never around! Someone different brought our food out and as they're setting it on the table she popped up and asked us if everything looked ok, we said yes since we weren't missing anything and that's the last time we saw her. She didn't come back to verify our $65 ribeye was cooked perfectly or anything like that. We again, had to have the guy bussing tables fill our waters--which he just took on as a regular task while we were there! Once our food was gone and our water guy cleared the table, it was 12 minutes before the waitress showed up to ask if we wanted dessert. She left the dessert menu with us and said she was going to get us more water since our cups were again empty. (The busboy had actually filled it yet again before she made it back to us). She came back 7 minutes later (which is a LONG time when you're thirsty and don't have anything to drink) and by that time we just asked for the bill since we were scared we'd never see her again. I work in the customer service field and I've been a waitress for YEARS and this was by far the worst service I've ever had from our waitress. All the other wait staff in the area were very attentive to their tables. All the other staff in general seemed very attentive and around if needed. For a restaurant that serves $100+ entrees and has multiple people doing jobs in the seating area, I'm honestly shocked that they don't have someone whose sole job is to keep drinks filled. I've seen this at multiple other "fancy" establishments with menus a lot less expensive. I'm not a complainer and I was SO tempted to talk to the manager. I went to the bathroom to try to cool off, change the scenery and plus I figured they'd be fancy....they were not! They were dingy and gross! We're talking rusty stall doors and pipes!! Not at all the bathrooms you'd expect in a place like that! Now the food.... although incredibly expensive, the food was divine!! We did NOT want to like the food as much as we did, but it was a lost cause. We're talking eyes roll back into your head-need a moment of silence good food!! The food warrants a trip back but definitely with a different waitress!! The food is a 200/10 Our waitress was -30/10 The atmosphere wasn't anything overly special and the lack of attention to detail in the bathrooms gives it a meh/10

I was disappointed with the experience. With their price range, I expected better service and food. However, my waitress and her assistant visited my table three times (take drink/order, bring me my food, and bring the bill). When I needed to ask for something they were nowhere to be found. For paying over $110+ for a single person I was disappointed. The food was okay. There wasn't a smaller portion so I got a massive potato to eat. The prime rib was okay and bland, but I've had better for that price range. Finally, be advised that there is a % that is to your bill to help pay for things for the back of the house. I guess that's a Minneapolis thing.

Ok, I was very excited to go to Pittsburgh Blue, it had been years. The prices indicate that the food should be outstanding but... I ordered a bone in NY Strip med rare. Steak was overcooked, tasteless very disappointed. I spent 253.00 and felt like I ate a $30.00 meal.I tried my Wife's Walleye that was absolutely horrible.Our Waiter, Fred didn't take the time needed and didn't listen. Hurried in and out. I cannot recommend nor will I be back. Jim Zagaros

I wanted to give this place higher ratings. Food did taste good, however I dont feel our waiter was upfront and honest about pricing. I ordered the lobster tail. Had no clue on the sizing and varying price. I pointed to the menu and said I wanted the one for $45 ish- whatever shown on menu. When I got my bill alone it was over $200! Also- said it was my birthday. Thought they sang or celebrated?! Did get a dessert on the house. My friends verified that prices weren't told to me so basically I was upchanged without knowing. I had bypass surgery so cant even eat a lot and have a card to show.

If the server wasn’t such a nice person it would be 0 stars. Sean was very nice, and very helpful. But that’s about it. My wife and I have 4 kids in sports and we barely have time for ourselves, on our anniversary we unfortunately tried this restaurant. Our daughter had a game so we only had time after 8pm, we reserved an 8:45 time that was available on their site. We got there and it was empty, they were closing at 9. Maybe this had something to do with how it was but why even stay open if you can’t give a good experience to people that don’t have time to come earlier. I asked for a medium burger it was extremely well done and dry. I couldn’t even finish it and forced myself to eat it. We had wings that were over seasoned to the point my wife was coughing and had to drink water. The steak was ok, nothing special. But what made the experience horrible was the amount of employees arguing with each other around us as they cleaned. Maybe they thought we didn’t speak Spanish but they were yelling at each other and arguing as we were trying to eat our dry food. Cleaning and setting off alarms. It was so unpleasant and uncomfortable to be there, our server was nice so we never complained to him. But we really wanted to. This is a place I’m never coming back to. 0 stars other than service from one person.
