Opinions de Irori Sushi Marina Del Rey
Such a beautiful spot in authentic Japanese style. The food is incredibly tasty and fresh, the staff is kind and attentive, and the atmosphere is just magical. Highly recommend!
Now this is probably one of the best spots you can go for sushi. The restaurant has such a nice ambiance. You have to take off your shoes which was a great surprise. Very clean floors. And you feel like you are sitting on the floor yet your feet go into an opening. I loved it.
This place truly captures the essence of authentic Japanese sushi. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels calm and traditional, making the experience even more special. The fish was incredibly fresh, each piece carefully prepared with attention to detail. A must-visit if you’re looking for real Japanese sushi, not just a meal but an experience.
A real gem!! Sushi really high quality and I'm a bit of a sushi snob. I love sitting at the bar. And chef sasaki is the man! Some of the best toro in town!! Also super fun to sit at tables on floor with your legs underneath the table (sunken floor). Shoes off here. Lunch has some decent deals as well. One of my favs. Highly recommend. Does get packed!
This was a nice place to eat while waiting to head over to LAX. Food tasted fresh and it felt very welcoming. We tried many different things and enjoyed all the food and sake. I had uni for the first time and they had two different options we went with the Santa Monica option I believe. Over great spot for a good meal.
I tried so many different sushi restaurants and this place might become one of my favorites. I honestly didn't expect much since it was a sushi restaurant inside a mall, but I was pleasantly surprised. The fish was delicious! I've been to sushi restaurants where the food is way more expensive and didn't even come close to the freshness or the flavors of this place. The ocean trout special and live sweet shrimp were my favorite. I wasn't very impressed by the roll that I got but maybe I'll try out something else next time. The toro toast was interesting and delicious too. I think they have a lunch special during the weekdays too. My server was also so polite and friendly. Incredible customer service. Would highly recommend if you live around the area!
Fantastic place. Kind of hidden in a strip mall in Marina Del Rey. The sushi is fantastic. Standouts with the albacore fried onion roll and the soft shell crab, as well as all nigiri (butter hotate, ocean trout, o-toro). Nice vibe as well, with cute seating where you legs kind of hide under the table. Not trying to be too “vibey” - just authentically a cool, nice yet chill spot. And finally by far the best value to quality sushi I’ve seen in ages. Everywhere these days either seems to be low quality crab salad sushi, or “omakase only.” This strikes a needed balance, and I’d trust omakase or a la carte here.
Amazing food. The atmosphere is great, and the layout is an interesting concept. The seats are very unique, and the setting is intimate. Service was great as well. Drinks were kept cool, and beer cups were frozen before drinks were poured into it. It's probably the best sushi spot in the Marina area.
Did I just had the BEST sushi experience in LA? This very traditional Japanese sushi place take you to Tokyo. You sit on the floor, and it’s a lot of fun. The sushi was just sooo good. We ordered two lunch boxes and some sushi. The staff was very attentive. Love this place and will go back.
Walking into this restaurant feels like stepping straight into Japan! From the warm, friendly staff to the cozy tatami-style seating, every detail is thoughtfully curated. The food is exceptional—don’t miss the omakase menu, black cod entrée, or the melt-in-your-mouth toro trio. Each dish is bursting with authentic flavors, making it one of the best Japanese dining experiences in LA. Highly recommend for anyone craving a true taste of Japan!
Irori Sushi is such a hidden gem in Marina del Rey Plaza—seriously, you have to check it out! 💡 First off, you take your shoes off at the door, and the whole place has tatami seating. It’s so cozy and gives off the perfect Japanese vibe. If you’re lucky, grab a seat at the sushi bar and watch the chefs do their thing. 🍣 The $90 omakase is a steal: you get an appetizer, miso soup, bean sprout salad, 5 pieces of fresh sashimi, 9 sushi pieces, and even dessert. Two people can totally share one and add a few extras! ✨ The fish changes daily—like the oysters we had were flown in from Washington, super fresh and sweet! Oh, and the uni toast? So good, fresh, and flavorful. If you love sushi, don’t miss this spot. Great vibes, amazing food, and totally worth it!
Amazing sushi spot with a fantastic vibe! The quality of the sushi is top-notch, with fresh, flavorful raw fish that melts in your mouth. A unique touch: you take off your shoes at the entrance and sit halfway into the floor for a traditional and cozy dining experience. Highly recommend for sushi lovers!
Irori Sushi in LA exceeded my expectations! The uni with caviar was incredibly fresh, and the toro bowl topped with uni was rich and delicious. The hand rolls were perfectly crafted with well-seasoned rice and crisp seaweed. The fried shrimp heads added a fun crunch, and every dish showcased the chef’s attention to detail. Cozy atmosphere, attentive service, and authentic flavors – highly recommend for a memorable sushi experience!
This is such a sleeper sushi spot in the Los Angeles area. Quality is top notch, especially on the premium omakase. The atmosphere is great — everyone is required to take off their shoes at the front, and you sit halfway into the ground floor at your tables. Servers are super nice, and I always leave knowing I made a great decision for dinner. 12/10 would recommend
Astonishingly delicious! This place is super cool, you need to take your shoes off, but when you sit down the tables have space to stretch your legs. Their sushi was amazing, salad, dessert, everything we ate was super good! Great service, they keep removing dirty dishes which I love.
One of fav Japanese restaurants. It's the most unique experience: You must take off your shoes (at the reception area), where the host/hostess leads you to your low tables. You must crawl down, slide your feet under the fixed tables. It's reminiscent of traditional Japanese dining halls/dining rooms, of sitting on the floor. Yes, the experience is really cool and unique, but the food and the service is excellent. Good quality, with a slightly higher price, is to be expected. The miso black cod is always cooked perfectly. Good portions.
Food was overall incredible but had one really chewy piece of salmon sushi that was a special for $16 so had to nix 2 stars. But go here!! The food is great and they are so nice
