Ask for the beef plates. Most tender cuts you'll ever find. Personally feel the service is very good. I went to Jr High with the Rosales brothers. Their family has been serving the rgv for many years.

My first time at Los Asados in McAllen. The food was very delicious. We ordered Chicken and Beef Fajitas plate for two people. The plates came with charros beans, rice, avocado in a small container and some lettuce with tomatoes. The chicken and beef fajitas were very tender smothered with green peppers and grilled onions. Plus two large flour tortillas for each of us. My girlfriend ordered the fresh lemonade. It looked fresh squeezed because it tasted very good and I could see pulp and free refills on lemonade and ice tea. We did not get the waiter’s name but he was an older gentleman who was very attentive. We will definitely return for another dining experience. We had dinner around 6:30 PM.

Great food. I had the enchilada with carne guisada plate. Has the option of refried beans or charro beans and rice. I order the charro beans. The cheese enchilada was delicious and carne guisada had a real rich home made flavor. The meat was very tender. Rice was good. It comes with a huge flour tortilla. Well the charro beans weren't really good. Just needs more smoky bacon and extra ingredients. The lemonade drink was good. The inside of Los Asados was well decorated and there were plenty of room. Not crowded to walk around. I definitely will go again.

I cruised by Los Asados Sunday evening with some friends and as always, was not disappointed! We went all out for the mixed parrillada with beef and chicken fajitas and all of the trimmings. We kicked off our meal with ice cold beer. Love the food and service here!

Los Asados is a great place to have a nice relaxed lunch or dinner. Food is definitely delicious. We love to come for their Margaritas. My favorites are Mango or Chamoy, but also have Strawberry or Watermelon. Overall, waiters/ waitresses are friendly and attentive and are quick to give you the Best service...Love their extremely big flour tortillas. If you're wanting or craving Mexican dishes then I recommend this place. Many choices and prices are reasonable.

Even though we were told it would be a 30 minute wait, we were seated in a timely manner. Our waiter was very efficient, and our food was great! An order of 2 flour tortillas was only $0.99!! Can't wait to go back!

My favorite is to give good reviews, and this place deserves it. Let's start with the fresh salsa and homemade chips, so yummy. I had the new chimichanga, and while others said it wasn't good, I think they are super wrong. Huge, could easily share, homemade tortilla fried to perfect crispyness, and I don't know what the sauce was, but it's the best I have ever had or at least vest sibling to a cheese chimichanga. Would eat here often. Staff was great, the service was quick, and they turned the channel to the game we wanted to watch. Oh and I thought the prices were really good for food quality and size!

We stayed at the Aloft across the street and found this gem after an exhausting day in Mexico. We sat at the bar and everything from the Hostess to the Bartender were phenomenal with their customer service. The beer was cold and the food was delicious! Beef (fajita) enchiladas on a Sunday for lunch. While it was crowded, it did not take long to secure a table. The chips and salsa were also delicious. If you have been here before...i think ur in "the know"....this place has amazing food...amazing customer service..jovial and happy...i love the experience of dining here... If you are ever around the Mcallen Texas area..abd you have some jingle to spend on lunch...this is definitely a better place for food!! Although food is about 27$ per person (we ate what's in pics ..taxes and 20% tip included)..there was food to takenhome and eat a 2nd portion...we eat on the light side🤭... The food here is always good, I have yet to find a dish I did not like. During peak hours there could be long wait times for a table depending on the size of your party. Be careful if you happen to order a large queso, they bring it out to you in a large soup bowl. It was quite unexpected but very good.

Was part of a huge group, approx 40, and the food brought to each table (4-6 people) was sizzling hot and tasty. Plates for each individual person had beans, rice, guacamole, then the huge platters…

I would give it about 3.5 stars compared to other restaurants. Some things are very good like the fried shrimp and tres leches and other things should be better like the fajita botana, it needs to be more fresh with hot fajitas not luke warm. Frozen margaritas are watered down due to the ice machine they use, not a dedicated Margarita machine.

Came here for a family celebration. We ordered a mixed botana of chicken and fajita. The beans, rice, all of the food was excellent. The spices used were just right. Not salty or overpowered with a spice taste. Ordered some drinks and they were made really well. By well the drinks were well balanced, not too much alcohol or filled with other juices drink was made with. Wife had a margarita, and i had a house special, can not remember the name of the drink. Would recommend this for a family night out or a celebration with family and friends.

Some of the people in our party ordered this soup, caldo. It looked delicious!!! We had the carne asada dinner. Asked the server for rice only and she brought 2 cup of beans...the carne asada was delicious. Perfectly cooked to medium. The mango margarita was terrific! Will have to try the caldo next time.

I finally had a night off from work, so I took my wife and son to Los Asados Mexican restaurant. After parking and entering the eatery, I guess after driving by it everyday, I was expecting a better ambiance. For one we were seated in booth were you could hear dishes clanging from the kitchen. Plus, there was a piece of plastic taped over a large opening that was at the end of our booth, with a hole torn in it no doubt. Tacky Tacky as the tape that held it to the wall. There was a good crowd in the place so I took that as a sign of good food being served. We ordered guacamole and melted queso with chorizo, guac. was basically mashed avocado, pretty standard, the melted cheese was good, they used a good cheese from Mexico. I ordered the Tampequena, a fajita sliced and served in a bland sauce with a cold crispy taco on the side, beans were ok the rice was very good. My wife ordered the green enchiladas she really liked them and she loved the rice. My son ordered the fajita plate, he enjoyed the tenderness of both the beef and the chicken. I didn't like the way his refried beans looked and I tried them, they tasted like they looked. We drank bottled Cokes from Mexico, they really do taste better than US made Cokes. Overall we had a great time, and I do want to try one of there family sized grilled meat platters.

Got a botana for 2 mixed chicken and beef. Flavor was great but there was max 4 small pieces of beef and same for chicken. Very little meat and if it was two people eating wouldn't have been enough. Overall it's alright maybe should've ordered a different platter since I wanted more meat cause it was mainly a nacho platter

The chips and salsa you get before the meals is pretty good. I ordered the Fajitas Toreada and the chicken and meat were pretty bland like they dont season it. The charcoal beans and rice are also lacking flavor. Its not bad food just that ive had better tasting fajitas. The staff is friendly and attentive and the place was clean.

We arived for a party, very large group, so naturally seating was slow. Tables lacked service and cutlery... a single napkin was a available for the entire group. We were a party of 20, yet they miserly only assigned a single waitress. Consequently, it took half an hour to get our orders out. I wasn't very hungry but wanted to not look odd without a meal, so I ask for a single fajita taco. Apparently, Las Asados wont sell you a single taco. Obviously, there isn't any to spare in the entire kitchen. Only the full meal (she was pushing a three taco plate). They do have a menu item with single taco, but, curiously, the waitress didn't recommend it. Didn't even check with the kitchen. Just a NO. We customers love that answer. Thanks for nothing. I hear their drinks are nice.

The salsa had very little flavor and no kick. The charro beans lacked spice and there was more water than beans. Too Loud! Server NEVER came back. Had to get up to ask for napkins,refills,to go boxes.

The atmosphere and service was good but on the other hand the food was not .. the chips that they brought out as a starter tasted smoked and nasty , the “salsa” was just straight up tomato, it had no salt or flavor. I ordered the chalupas and when i received them they were already soggy as if they were plated a long time ago and just left there, i also got the chicken strips for my kids and the chicken was so rubbery and hard to cut. Over all i do not recommend this place especially since it’s more on the pricey side i ended up paying $40 for food that none of us liked!

EDIT: Went again 10/24 Had the same thing. Frijoles are not charros as they state. Salsa and chips.. salsa had no salt. Big servings. Margaritas were huge and really good. The fijoles charros was my only issue. They were no charros. They were plain frijoles.

Ate the filling & salad & called it a Loss. This new item must be removed from the Menu immediately. It's totally a fail. Do yourself a favor & avoid at all temptation. Birthday meal was a complete Flop. Oh well. Order something else.

Food is very okay and nothing to go crazy over. I got the Marisco soup and it was very salty and had more carrots and imitation crab than fish and other seafood. The salsa for the chips don’t pack a punch unless you ask for the creamy green salsa.

She said they don’t sell half order, so I said fine bring me an order of flour and an order of corn, she replied so! You want 2 orders, I said yes. Well she brings 2 orders of corn and 2 order of flour. The chori-queso was slice cheese, just horrible. The fajita, rice and beans tasteless, not worth the overpriced rudeness. I had forgotten why I stop coming here years ago when they first opened. After years of this bad management, I don’t see how they are in business. BEWARE!!!!!!!!

Ordered the caldo de res. First I noticed the soup was cold. The gross part was the amount of fat around the meat. Chef could have removed the huge chunks off since it was way to much fat. Made it difficult to get to the meat. Used alot of napkins in attempting to remove the fat off my fingers. The meat was cold and dry since it had been placed in a separate plate. Maybe in a way that was good because of the amount of fat but unfortunately that also made the meat cold. The liquid was tasty but lesson learned at this place.

Ordered takeout from this place. The service was horrible. I waited over half an hour whenever they told me that they were packaging my food to bring it to me. I finally decided to get off my truck and go check. The order was sitting at the front desk. There was two ladies at the front doing nothing. I asked them to speak to the manager. He asked me to if he could recook everything for us and make us wait even longer. As I told the manager when got home and the food was extremely cold. We had to reheat everything in the microwave was not a pleasant visit this was over a $90 ticket.

The waiting staff was excellent and very friendly. The waitress that brought my food, left the hot plate of food at the edge of the table. Normally it’s placed in front of the customer but she kindly advised me that the plate was hot. So I just moved it closer myself. 🤣 The service was excellent, very friendly but the food was cold and not very good to consume!! I don’t recommend this place at all. If I don’t have to eat here again, I won’t.

First time we come here and the food was so bad Fajitas felt like rubber, and tasted weird the rice awful taste, tortillas too. Only refried beans were good, even the tea was bad taste omg. Inside it some dirty windows and dark atmosphere etc. So dissapointed.

We had been to this place before and loved it. Today the food was gross. The taco salad was so greasy you could pour it out. The Mexican plate looked like a TV Dinner. My quesadilla tasted like bad cheese. On the bright aide the margaritas were very good. With almost 2 million views this will be my first bad review.
