One of the best places in Mérida to eat typical Yucatecan dishes, such as cochinita pibil, lechón, and asado de castacán. And at a great price, tortas are 20 pesos (1 USD).
The food is delicious, the Castakan taco is the family gem. The service is attentive, striving to be efficient. The water is also very good, and many families visit this place.

Good food and delicious sauces. But the waiter just stared at me from across the room and then, after a few seconds, said, "Aren't you going to order?" The service quality is a bit lacking.
I like that they open early, but I don't give more stars to the fact that it's an open place and in the mornings the sun hits hard, which generates a lot of heat when you're enjoying your torta or tacos, there's little place to park, during the week there's a variety from roasted, breaded, black filling and on the weekends the classic suckling pig and cochinita pibil, to drink there's bottled soda and the still waters run out quickly
I understand it's a small place and you have to wait, but as soon as they hear you're a foreigner, the treatment turns bad. I don't plan to go or return.
Hahaha, the cochinita was dry, tasteless, and fat-free... what kind of cochinita doesn't have a little fat? In fact, I dare say it wasn't even fresh, it was reheated... The service was good, but the food wasn't even worth it 😺
Terrible service, you speak to them and they don't even answer, if you do speak to them they give you nasty looks to make you leave, especially the old waiter who is super rude.
Horrible... this is my second time here, and they hand you the sandwich with the meat cold and dry. Plus, there are people smoking cigarettes while you eat, and no one says anything to them. Disgusting, don't come here!!!
