Excellent place to savor a delicious cochinita pibil or suckling pig torta. The polcanes are excellent, very generously portioned, the gordita is perfectly crispy, and the accompaniments make it a delight. They also have sodas and flavored waters. The salsa is good, but in my opinion, it needs a bit more spice. I didn't get any turkey or castacan; I would have liked to try them, but I will definitely return for those two dishes. The only unfortunate and incorrect thing is that they still charge a commission if you pay by card.

Excellent food, great flavor, and generous portions. They're the original. Arrive early; the cochinita pibil sells out quickly, and there's a long line for both tables and takeout. But they are highly recommended.

Good and cheap food, one of the most delicious cochinita tacos in Mérida.

Pedí un polcan con carne y una torta de asado, y la verdad no me gustó, porque el asado parece guisado y no carne seca con sus salsas, y sentí mucho el sabor del achiote (recado rojo). Probé el taco de cochinita y estaba simple, le faltaba sal. Yo no volvería a comer ahí.

We arrived at the place based on the recommendation of several YouTube videos. It was around 10 a.m. We arrived directly from the airport and there was practically nothing there. They give a lot of priority to orders and table service is not attended to in a timely manner. The waitresses generally do not provide good service, and we were particularly served by one who was not in a good mood, hehe. Although the manager was very attentive, she was overwhelmed trying to get everything taken care of. What we tried was the suckling pig and cochinita, which were very good, but I couldn't differentiate one from the other. I got the impression that they only gave us suckling pig. I hope I have better luck next time. Note: They seem to be doing very well; there's a lot of activity. I think they should invest in improving the facilities and customer service.

Hi, as always, I'm looking for the best places to eat in the city, and today I tried El Tío, a taqueria specializing in traditional stews. This place has an open-air seating area, no air conditioning, and both a dining room and takeout. On this occasion, I ate there. It seemed like a popular spot, packed with diners, and there were several people waiting for takeout. I noticed they have various types of stews: cochinita pibil, kastakan, lecho, and others. I decided to order a kastakan torta and a breaded pig's foot taco, and when my order arrived, they brought me a cochinita pibil taco. I decided not to comment since I was hungry, and they do take a little while to serve. The food tasted average, and honestly, paying almost 60 pesos for a sandwich and getting it all thin and flimsy was a rip-off. The flavor was nothing special. I've eaten better at Lucas de Gálvez, to be honest. The waiters weren't good, forgetful and distracted, I suppose because they're understaffed for the number of customers. Everything was just average. I wouldn't eat at that restaurant again. P.S.: When I went to pay, they were overcharging me. Apparently, it's a recurring issue since they were overcharging a table next to me. Check your bills before you pay!

Fuimos a este lugar por la gran cantidad de recomendaciones que tiene, pero lamentablemente nuestra experiencia no fue buena. La carne asada resultó insípida, con un exceso de sabor a achiote y una textura masosa. El pan, en algunos momentos, estaba demasiado duro. La cochinita fue lo más decepcionante: sin sabor y completamente insípida. Lo único medianamente rescatable fue la torta de camarones, aunque tampoco se sentían frescos. Honestamente, no regresaría. Hay opciones mucho mejores en la zona, sobre todo para quienes somos locales.

The food is delicious, but the service is TERRIBLE. They overcharge, so be careful. The only good things are the cochinita pibil and the suckling pig—those are fantastic! The relleno negro and the shrimp were awful. The woman who seems to be "in charge" gets frustrated and stressed, so it becomes chaotic. They don't have a system for serving customers, and the prices aren't displayed, so ask beforehand to avoid being overcharged.

I ordered roast beef tortas to go, and first of all, the wait was excessive. The torta itself didn't have much flavor, and the meat was more like ground beef than mince. The salsa they give you is just pico de gallo (not salsa), and the French toast on the torta was terrible.

I went to this location because of the "La Ruta de la Garnacha" video, with very high expectations regarding the food and service, but honestly, I was disappointed, mainly by the service. The food is average; it's neither the best cochinita nor the best suckling pig I've ever had. So, it's okay for a quick bite, but if you don't live nearby or it's not on your way, don't waste your time going. But the worst part was the service. There was no order whatsoever; they asked questions from a distance, almost shouting, instead of coming to your table. But the real kicker was that they were overcharging us (and on top of that, they didn't have the prices clearly displayed). We went over the bill with the "waitress," and she was pocketing extra money. If you're not prepared to go viral and handle large crowds, don't collaborate with YouTubers or TikTokers because the final product is nothing like what you end up delivering.

Our family has been frequenting this restaurant for over three years because of the service and food. It's already a challenge to arrive or try to place an order. Their WhatsApp or cell phone never works because the screen is rotating. 🤔 Three months ago, you line up and they serve your acquaintances first. After placing an order, it's been 25 minutes and they don't have anything ready. Now, you line up again and wait another 30 minutes because your cell phone DOESN'T WORK. 😔
