I haven’t been to India, but I have had Indian food in many different countries. By far, this the best I have had. Aromatic, flavorful, and aromatic. It was beautifully presented and the portion was surprisingly large. Even the rice tasted specially good. The garlic nan was very tasty. Great job Mr. Chef.
This is the first time we visit and will definitely not be the last! Hands down best Indian cuisine I’ve had !!! The service was emasculate and the food was beyond our expectations!! 10/10 recommend!!! Jay was our server and he had the best suggestions he made my best friends birthday lunch very special! Thank you JAY!!!!
We were traveling from Key West to Miami and stopped at Ashoka for lunch. The ambience immediately impressed us, and our waitress, Kathia, was exceptionally warm and helpful. As vegetarians, we found the appetizers quite tasty, though the main course was average. The prices were reasonable overall, and despite the mixed food experience, we truly appreciated the wonderful ambience and attentive service.
everything was amazing!! we had these amazing garlic cheese truffle naans and i'm obsessed!! Everything was delicious, listen to the recommendations from your server to hear about new menu items! Kathy gave us amazing recommendations, and the service was excellent. Can't wait to come back!
Best Indian cuisine without a doubt. The attention you get the moment you walk through the door is incredible. All of the food selection is exquisite. I came once and said to myself “I have to bring my in-laws” and when we left all they could say was how they couldn’t wait to come back. 10/10 I don’t have better words to describe it.
WOW! So so yummy. Our server, Jay, was the best!! He gave us the most delicious recommendations that I would have never know to try on my own. The portions were perfect for sharing & we had leftovers. Also, just when I was about to leave, our hostess recommended the most AMAZING dessert, a chocolate crème puff stuffed w pistachio creme. I can’t wait to come back!
We had the pleasure of being served by Kathia! She’s was super friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. The chicken makhani ordered medium spicy was perfect! Highly recommend!
First time here and no regrets. Excellent food! I had the chicken mango curry and my partner had the cashew lamb, both options delicious. Our server was very attentive. I’ll definitely come back to try the rest of the menu!
The food and atmosphere is great every time . Our server katia was very accommodating. The attention to details is unmatched . My daughter loves this place . And said Katia is one of the best servers she's ever had . Needless to say we will be back.
Upon walking into the restaurant we were stunned by the decor it was so beautiful. We were then quickly welcomed in with smiles, despite only arriving 1 hour before closing. Jay helped us out picking the right things to order, he said he would take care of it for us and he did! Our food was without exaggeration so delicious that it felt like an artistic experience, every flavor was so intricately blended and so unique, unlike anything I’ve tried. The portions were very large and we were able to keep a good amount of food for the next day, saving room for the best part which was the desert! Pistachio cheesecake with ice cream was absolutely mind blowing, so many unique details and care made in the preparation and presentation (that did not go unnoticed) of the dish that really elevated it to the next level.
We had a wonderful dining experience at Ashoka Indian Restaurant in Miami. The food was absolutely delicious—flavorful, authentic, and beautifully prepared. What truly made our evening special was the outstanding service. Our server Katia was warm, attentive, and made us feel so welcome from the moment we sat down. She guided us through the menu with great recommendations and took excellent care of us. A big thank you also to J, the manager, who checked in personally to ensure everything was perfect. It is rare to find a restaurant that combines amazing food with such genuine hospitality. We will definitely be back and highly recommend Ashoka to anyone looking for exceptional Indian cuisine in Miami.
Food was extremely delicious. Dal tadka specifically was the best! Soul touching Paneer khurchan and Ghee jeera rice! 🍚 Quantity was great and everyone, especially Katia was amazingly warm & sweet to us. I would say this was the best indian meal I had in the United States.
This is my favorite Indian spot in Miami. The restaurant is so cute and fun and the staff is so kind and welcoming. Katia was amazing and recommended a new dish that was delicious. Highly recommend!
when i tell yall…. this is the best indian food ive ever had in my life. the place is gorgeous, homey, the food feels like a warm delicious hug. the ambiance makes you forget you’re in miami and the SERVICEEEEE is top tier. the manager Jay was insanely sweet and very very attentive as well as everyone else. 10/10 all around definitely recommend i will be coming back literally every day take all my money
This place is a true gem! The butter chicken was rich and authentically spiced, and the mixed platter of chicken, meat, and shrimp was absolutely to die for—every bite packed with bold, delicious flavors. Dessert was next-level: pistachio cheesecake with pistachio ice cream and crunchy kanafa pieces on top—pure perfection. The staff was kind, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. I loved everything about this place. Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back!
Had an awesome lunch at Ashoka! The place looks beautiful inside, and the vibe is super cozy. Jay helped us out and was great—he recommended the cashew lamb with mushrooms and the butter chicken, and both were seriously delicious. The flavors were on point. We finished with the pistachio cheesecake, and wow… so good! Definitely coming back.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (If I could give it 1000 stars, I would!) The food did not disappoint—so flavorful and absolutely delicious. Every staff member was warm, attentive, and kind. Jay, the manager, is truly a rare gem who makes the experience even more special. Do yourself a favor and come eat here—you won’t be sorry!
This is a good Indian restaurant with plenty of options for the whole family. With a cozy and friendly place, the Ashoka has a lot of dishes to enjoy, and you can choose how much spicy you want it. Is a really good place to go out, take in, or just order online. A plus, it has an Indian market with a lot of indian produce!
This was a wonderful experience! Katia is an amazing waitress, and we sent compliments to the chef for the pistachio curry chicken, a chef’s special not on the menu. I can’t remember the last time I did that. One caveat: there is no buffet as advertised on some web searches, but overall this place deserves the wonderful reviews it gets. We even sat next to a lovely working fountain! I highly recommend this restaurant.
One of the best spots in miami to get your Indian fix! The restaurant is big and spacious, menu is expansive! We had the mysore dosa, peri peri fries, bhindi and lemon rice and every single dish was a BANGER! They also have a grocery store for Indian essentials you need. One stop shop, perfect for weekends with family or date night. I’m definitely coming back
Amazing food, the servers and employees were very attentive and friendly. The food was perfectly seasoned and they have a big selection of food to eat. Will definitely come back and try something else!
Absolutely amazing food! Tried the pav bhaji, plain dosa, mulligatawny soup, special khurchan paneer sabzi, garlic naan, and pistachio cheesecake, every single dish was bursting with flavor. The service was warm and attentive, and the ambiance made the whole experience even better. To top it all off, they surprised us with a complimentary pistachio tiramisu — such a thoughtful touch.
I have to say WOW! My mom and I had never tried Indian food so we decided to try Ashoka. First, we were seated by Katia and then Jay took over with amazing recommendations, perfect service and the best attitude! He was always coming by making sure we were taken care off and Katia was also very attentive with the water. The food was so flavorful and delicious. We tried garlic naan bread, tandoori chicken, one of the chefs specials with mahi mahi fish, coconut sauce and curry, but the amazing finish was the pistachio cheesecake with ice cream that I have no words to describe. I can only say that our experience was incomparable! 100% recommended and going back soon
Came here for my birthday because I wanted some delicious authentic Indian food, and they didn’t disappoint!! The service was top tier. The floor manager “Jay” I believe, attended to us, and he suggested different options which were perfect! Everything from appetisers, to entrées, to dessert was so delicious and served in a timely manner. Will definitely be coming back!! Thank you so much for your great service and amazing food!!
I’m a regular here, the ambience, the hospitality & the food are all great. Jay, Katia that are part of the staff are superb & friendly. I’d recommend to anyone (I thought I had left a review over a year ago when I first went, oops)
Jay the manager was absolutely phenomenal!!! Best service we’ve ever had. We drove 40 minutes to eat here and it was worth the drive. The food was so so worth it and we plan on coming here on date nights regularly. I can’t wait to come back!!!! Everyone should come here, you won’t regret it!
10/10 Experience at Ashoka Indian Restaurant! I had an absolutely outstanding dining experience at Ashoka Indian Restaurant in Miami. Everything from the service to the flavors was top-notch! Here’s what we ordered: • Tomato Soup (Medium Spicy): Perfectly seasoned, rich, and comforting. A great start to the meal! • Mulligatawny Soup (Mild Plus): Creamy, flavorful, and full of depth, an authentic taste that warmed the soul. • Chicken Tikka Masala (Medium Spicy): Easily one of the best I’ve had! The chicken was tender and the sauce was rich, aromatic, and perfectly balanced. • Garlic Naan: Soft, fluffy, and loaded with garlic. Ideal for scooping up that delicious tikka masala. • Jeera Ghee Rice: Fragrant, buttery, and infused with cumin, pairs wonderfully with curries. • Onion Chili Lemon: A simple but punchy side that brought freshness and heat to the meal. The service was excellent, attentive, friendly, and made us feel welcome throughout our visit. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, and every dish came out hot and beautifully presented. If you’re in Miami and craving authentic, flavorful Indian food, Ashoka Indian Restaurant is a must-visit. I’ll absolutely be back!
The food, the atmosphere, the service, everything was spectacular. We were seated near the fountain, and though the fountain wasn't running at full force, it was still very pretty and well decorated. The service from Jay was amazing and he made sure all of our needs were met. I had the lamb Tikka masala (mild) which was spectular and I definitely could've gone hotter. The garlic Naan was delicious. Everything was amazing and I would definitely come again.
My son recommended this restaurant and I am very pleased with the food! Everything was delicious. The food is well seasoned, and you can have it at whatever spice level you are comfortable with. I definitely recommend this restaurant. It’s a 10 out of 10. I will be back!
The absolutely best Indian food I’ve ever tried. My boyfriend and I just stumbled upon this place online and decided to go last minute not knowing how amazing it would turn out. We were helped out by Jay tremendously, we trusted his recommendations and it was the best decision we could have made. Next time we go, we’re planning on letting him decide our entire course. The customer service is UNMATCHED. 10/10 on every detail can’t wait to bring our friends and family. Only got a picture of the dessert cause we devoured the rest, the dessert was also recommended by Jay!
We visited this Indian restaurant for the first time, and everything exceeded our expectations. Katia and all the waitstaff were fantastic friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful. Since it was our first time trying Indian cuisine, they took the time to explain each dish and made us feel completely comfortable. The food was absolutely delicious, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. We’ll definitely be coming back soon !
Have been here couple of time. This time ordered multiple dishes like mutton sukka, salmon, veg kofta, chilli chicken. All dishes were very good and tasty. A must visit restaurant for Indian cuisine.
First timer here. Jay took us to our table and he made all the decisions for my brother and I on what to eat. From appetizers to dessert. Not even sure if some of the recommendations were on the menu but when I tell you everything was beyond expectations! Food was incredibly fresh and the service was fast and attentive. I would highly recommend, I will be back soon. Thank you Jay!
The food is hands down amazing. Would suggest it for lunch or dinner but if you need a quiet or working lunch The music is a bit loud during lunch time. But overall it is an amazing restaurant and amazing authentic Indian food!
It was our first time trying Indian food, so we asked our server Katia for help, and she explained everything well enough for us to make a great decision. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was calm with music that’s almost unnoticeable, and Katia’s service was 10/10 overall.
Great atmosphere and excellent service. Katia was great and helped us made great choices for food. The butter chicken was amazing, and so was the cashew mushroom chicken. The cheesecake with pistachios was a bit disappointing and overpriced. It can be skipped in my opinion. In general we all loved the food and we will definitely come back.
The food was absolutely delicious — authentic flavors and beautifully presented dishes. What truly stood out was our servers, especially Jay and Katia. They were warm, attentive without hovering, and made sure everything arrived promptly. Exceptional service from start to finish.
The BEST Indian restaurant experience—hands down! Jay, the owner, is the most personable and passionate host we’ve ever met. We didn’t even order from the menu! Instead, Jay curated a completely personalized meal based on what we were craving in the moment. Dish after dish arrived at our table, each one more flavorful and perfectly spiced than the last. It felt like we were dining in his home, not just a restaurant. Can’t recommend this place enough!
Extremely amazing food- i m from india and since i have been in US i have tried soooo many indian restaurants but nothing has come close to this one. The food is just wow- exact indian spice balance w perfect consistency and well cooked. Couldn’t have asked for a better to quench my chole bhature craving! Totally recommend 10/10
Amazing flavors, authentic high quality Indian food made from scratch, from naan bread to desserts, I tried a cashew curry chick, creamy sweet and tangy flavor just perfect, the portion was big mostly to share , rice perfectly cook , the dessert mango cheesecake with lemon sorbet , like a bomb of flavors that complemented each other , not super sweet, Delicious ! Excellent service, super clean. I’ll be back !!!! Don’t missed this Restaurant!
Everything is amazing here. We had the best service even though they were busy on a weekday. The food was very tasty and level of heat was perfect. Desserts were good. My wife prefers when they make their own kulfi rather than store bought but I thought it was fine.
Service was amazing. They even suggested good paneer curries. We ordered Paneer cashew curry with onion kulcha and chole bhature both were 10/10. We were celebrating anniversary so got Rasmalai too. Cathy was very sweet and made the experience even more amazing ❤️
The staff was attentive and made sure our dining experience was fantastic throughout. The service was quick and the food was delicious. Katia was our server and made it such a wonderful experience. We will definitely be back! Beware of the rocket naan, it is spicy 🌶️
Omg!!! Soooo good!!!! Yes, go a bit out of the way to find delicious, flavorful, fresh food. It is worth it. Expand your palate, enjoy new flavors. Katya recommended the pistachio chicken, as well as the mango curry with chicken and both were delicious. The cheese naan smelled as good as it tasted. Everything tasted freshly made, the place was clean, had a million choices. The guests near us had a rice wrap/ bread with potato inside and the lamp chops smelled delicious. Will try those next time. Shout out to Jay, the manager for checking in on us and was ever so gracious when he learned we lived 90 minutes away. Don’t limit yourself. TRY Ashoka.
WOW!!!! It’s really hard to find a restuarant this good with great service . I never do reviews but this has to be done ! I went with the suggestions . Pistachio curry and cashew curry for my husband along with the butter chicken fries . Yes you read correctly in. Butter chicken fries . And then the dessert!!!!! Woooowwww!!! Cheesecake with Dubai chocolate strawberries and two other pieces I forgot what it’s called but amazinggggg. I liked the cahshew a lot but the pistachio was my favorite. Once I tried the butter chicken I could not stop. I cannot say enough about this restaurant. Our Jay was so attentive, detailed in tune with our needs and pretty much perfectly guessed what we would like . His assistant was also great and sweet. I would say it’s the best Indian restaurant in Doral and in Miami just in this trip alone. Jay promised me that every time I come I will be wowed and I BELIEVE it! We are definitely coming back over and over again . Side note. I also came with a group of kids , about 10, that sat separate from us and I could see from my table that they were getting the same attentive service as we were . I was very impressed.
Our first time at Ashoka. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our VERY comfortable table. Jay expertly guided us through our entire meal, patiently answering questions with genuine kindness. Every dish he suggested was delicious! The other staff, including Katia, were so attentive that we felt like VIPs! We will definitely be returning! Thank you so much, Jay!!
The ambience is amazing. We came here for official lunch. Ordered Dal Makhani and Malai kofta. The food is top-notch, even a fish item was great. Breads were very fresh. Kaithiya (the server) is also superb- so down to Earth, so kind and so helpful. She was very happily helping us decide on the food items.
Stopped by on our way to Homestead to try some Indian food in Miami. Really enjoyed what we ordered. The food was flavorful, reasonably priced, and the staff was helpful. A good spot if you are looking for solid Indian food. Chole Bhature - 4/5 Fried Rice - 4.5/5
The food was absolutely amazing, full of flavor and perfectly prepared. Our server, Jay, was wonderful and made sure we had the best dining experience. He recommended some fantastic dishes: the Cashew Curry with Chicken, Lahore Sauce with Chicken, and the Pistachio Kataifi Cheesecake, which were my favorites!
I came here a year and a half ago. The food was soo AMAZING that as soon as I moved to SoFlo, I HAD to find Ashoka! The service is amazing and the atmosphere is very relaxing. More importantly.....THE FOOD IS BY FAR THE BEST INDIAN FOOD I'VE HAD!!! I'm 36 Y/O and have traveled all over the globe in the military. The Lahori Curry Chicken and garlic cheese Naan is the BEST in the states! I will definitely be BACK!
Had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The manager ( Jay) was extremely helpful and knowledgeable — pyaar se khila rahe the, which honestly made the experience even more special. You can tell they genuinely care about their guests. The food was outstanding — Authentic flavours like this are very hard to find here, and every bite truly reminded me of home. The ambience was also very pleasant and well done — comfortable, welcoming, and perfect for enjoying a good meal. Overall, a fantastic experience with great food, warm hospitality, and a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended! 🇮🇳✨
I don’t leave many reviews often, but after having found this place on a random Monday evening, my boyfriend and I had a literal out of body experience eating everything we ordered. This is such a hidden gem, truly an incredible spot for authentic Indian cuisine. The absolute best naan I have ever had. We were served plates that weren’t even on the menu, just chef specials of the day - they were actually mind-blowing. I want to gatekeep this place all to myself, but I’ll be recommending it to all my friends and family. We will be coming back time and time again. Special thanks to our amazing server Katya who was so sweet and had great recommendations! ❤️
Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor... The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything, the ambience is also wonderful... They suggested us to try paneer kurchan with kofta and that was so good. The tea was so well prepared and served to the perfect temperature. We were seated near the fountain and that was such a relaxing experience after a long tiering day. A MUST TRY PLACE!!
We were very happy to discover that there was a whole section for vegan options. We enjoyed the vegetable samosas, and the Aloo Gobi. And I splurged to have their special dessert which is a cream puff with pistachio and chocolate on top. I thought it was very tasty as well. Kathy was an excellent waitress. Would have liked the music to be a little less loud.
I left Miami to Northern VA and learned about many different food cultures… now that I moved back, I had to seek out an Indian spot. This place did not disappoint. Everything was spot on… from the recommendations to the dessert! Will be coming back many more times!
We had such a wonderful experience at Ashoka Indian Restaurant for a birthday lunch! A special shoutout to Kathia, took such great care of us. She was incredibly sweet and attentive We ordered the Dum Paneer Kali Mirch and it was absolutely amazing. The entire staff was warm and welcoming, which made the birthday celebration even more memorable. Highly recommend this place for both the food and the lovely service.
Don't miss mysore masala dosa! Its yumm Went second time - they are on point, This time tried chef’s special desert also. No disappoints. All food was good. Inshort, Good ambience, good food, good music and great hosting. Spice level varies so ask them for your spice level. Would definitely go again and again.
Amazing Experience of the Senses! It was our first time, and it was one of the BEST dining experiences we have had in years! We tried some Garlic & Cheese Naan, as well as some Onion Kulcha, which were soft, freshly baked w/ a delicately balance between the cheese and spices. The Virgin Drinks, specially the Mango Lassi were delicious! They also brought some Lentil crackers for those who ordered beer, and it was quite a tasty compliment. The Pistachio Lamb chops curry provided a tantalizing experience between spice and sweetness, which became a new favorite! It was evident that the Chef and Cooks were not only cooking those dishes with traditional ingredients and techniques, but also with love for the craft, which translated into every bite of flavor explosion we took from the Chicken Vindaloo to the Lamb Chops Masala. We had some kids in the party, and it was their first time trying Indian food, and they devoured the Naan bread, the Seasoned fries, the Tandori Shrimp and the Seasonal Kulfi! Our Waiter Katya was most attentive, and provided excellent customer service at all times. As she was bringjng out drinks, she overheard us mentioning that we were celebrating a Birthday, and she corteously brought the most Decadent Pistachio Tart w/ a side of Pistachio covered ice cream with a candle! She was exceptional! Whether you are a Foodie or just love Indian Food, Ashoka is the best place to enjoy some delicious meal with family or friends!
Katia was so helpful and sweet! She helped me choose what I wanted to eat for the meal and everything was absolutely fantastic. Down to the dessert. I would come back here again. The special items on the menu were the chicken cashew mushroom curry and the pistachio ice cream + cheesecake.
Recomendado 100%.
We had a good time eating there. The food came out soooooo quickly. But the naan bread was really small for the price we paid and the portions of the rice were also small. I did enjoy the food tho. It was good… not out of this world but good. I recommend it. The manager was very nice and helpful.
We stopped by this restaurant on our way back from Key West, and it turned out to be one of the best dining decisions of the trip. The moment you step in, the ambiance leaves a lasting impression — elegant, spacious, and beautifully designed with just the right mix of modern and traditional elements. It has a lively yet relaxing vibe that makes you want to stay a little longer. We decided to try a few appetizers along with their pav bhaji (spicy version), and everything tasted fresh and well-balanced. The pav bhaji had just the right amount of heat and buttery richness — exactly how it should be. The portion size was generous, and the presentation was thoughtful. The starters were equally good, flavorful, and nicely seasoned. You could tell that a lot of attention went into the ingredients and preparation. The staff was courteous, attentive, and made sure our dining experience was comfortable throughout. The service was quick, even though the restaurant seemed quite busy when we visited. It’s always a great sign when a place manages to maintain quality and warmth during rush hours. Overall, this is a wonderful stop for anyone craving authentic Indian flavors in Miami. Whether you are a local or passing through, it’s worth checking out. My only small wish — I wish they served a good cup of chai to wrap up the meal. That would have made it absolutely perfect!
We visited with no set expectations and had a mixed experience. The veg biryani was delicious and the chola bhatura was quite good. However, the dosa sambar and chutneys didn't taste fresh. Additionally, the loud music made the atmosphere feel a bit overwhelming. 18% gratuity was too much , we were only 3 ppl who had dinner
So we picked the wrong day to try Ashoka. They had a very large party to deal with and we got sloppy seconds....Food was very good definitely above average and the menu was large and interesting. Im gonna leave it there as everything else was a miss. We will return because i want to try other things! Oh spice levels were PERFECT!
If you’re expecting South Indian–style food, this place is a no-go. We directly asked one of the staff members what their specialties were, and her response was simply, “Everything is special.” Not very helpful. We ordered naan (which was much smaller than expected), paneer tikka masala, chicken Chettinad, and parathas. Everything was just okay—nothing impressive. The chai and mango lassi were the worst of all, so I wouldn’t recommend trying those at all. On top of that, they charge an 18% gratuity, which felt quite high compared to other restaurants we tried in Miami. Our total bill was $94.88, and the gratuity alone came to $17.08. Overall, not worth the price or the hype.
The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere and the staff were courteous, but the overall experience was average. The food was just average and did not particularly stand out given the pricing. The wait times after order was close to 30 minutes, which felt longer than expected. Additionally, a 15% service charge was automatically added to the final bill, which was not clearly communicated upfront. There is certainly room for improvement in terms of service and pricing.
Restaurant was clean, beautiful setting, atmosphere endearing. It's a nice restaurant service was nice. Do believe it took long for the food to come but it was good. They do confirm the spice levels before ordering and the taste was great, the price though is not worth it. Had better tasting authentic Indian for half the price. If you can afford it then spend it.
I recently dined at Ashoka and was disappointed despite its positive reviews. The food lacked flavor and didn't meet expectations. Would never recommend their pepper paneer curry, gobi appetizer had lot of food coloring which is not my usual thing. The only saving grace was the ambience, which earns it an extra half star. I wouldn't recommend this place.
Things have apparently changed for the worse. I used to recommend this place on social media. Ordered pickup. Was sitting there waiting for a long time, no proactive update. Customer service is subpar. Asked to speak with the manager and she did not apologize for the delay. Definitely not the place I will recommend to coworkers or friends anymore. When I asked for the manager’s name the other waitress with a ponytail and glasses, acted as if she did not know. I found it was Katia, abysmal pick up experience. If she was having a bad day it should not be passed on to paying customers. Need better trained management.
Disappointed by seeing to the ratings that it has received. It is not upto the expectations at all. Ambience didn't had any proper lighting. The food lacked salt a lot. The drinks were not original. The spice level was not at all delivered. The washroom items were not regularly stocked up. I didn't felt like paying at all. I wish I could receive refund for it.
I'm not normally the type of person who leaves reviews, but this is actually so ridiculous that I feel compelled to say something so this doesn't happen to others. I will keep it simple. I ordered the loaded butter chicken poutine for $18.99, description: "Delicious fries tossed in our butter chicken curry with cheese curds and topped with jalapeños, onions and scallions". Attached photo is what I received. Now, did they taste good? Sure. Was it worth almost $20 for glorified cheese fries? Absolutely not. I even paid extra for the chicken version instead paneer and there was not one single shred of chicken to be found (or jalapeños? Scallions? Onions?) I just feel like on good faith I have to give this one star. 👎 Save your money.
We stopped by this restaurant on our way to Key West, but unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. The staff recommended a Cashew Chicken dish (not listed on the menu), and despite clearly mentioning a mushroom allergy, the curry was served with mushrooms — and it even turned out to be lamb instead of chicken. The curry, priced at $30, tasted stale and lacked flavor. We also ordered a tea that cost $6, but it didn’t taste authentic. Overall, the food quality and experience didn’t meet expectations, and I wouldn’t recommend this place based on our visit.
While the food itself was decent, the behavior of the staff—and especially the manager—was unacceptable. The manager was aggressive, ill-mannered, and clearly unfit to deal with customers. Raising a simple concern about the food was met with hostility instead of professionalism. Management seriously needs to provide basic customer-service training and address the manager’s attitude. Customers pay not only for food but for the overall experience, and there is absolutely no reason to become aggressive over a valid concern. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had
Highly disappointed – Poor service and total disrespect We traveled to Miami and chose this spot based on high reviews, but our experience was the complete opposite. From the start, there was no greeting—just loud music and a staff member pointing vaguely across the room for us to find our own seats. The service only went downhill from there. The server handed a stack of plates to one person at our table and told us to pass them around ourselves. After a long wait, our food arrived, but we had to flag down a server to ask about our missing naans. Even though everything was ordered at once, we waited another 10 minutes for the bread to arrive. My daughter’s side order for her dosa took 25 minutes, and again, they simply placed it at the far end of the table for us to pass down rather than serving her. When we asked several about his behavior, he arrogantly replies so you can pass on and kept walking. Given the high prices on the menu, at high side, the service was absolutely horrible. To top it off, they charged $3 for three tiny slices of onion. Despite the non-existent service, an 18% service charge was automatically added. The staff was very disrespectful. Save your money and go elsewhere.
I recently returned to Ashoka Indian Restaurant after remembering it as Saffron, but the food didn’t live up to how I remembered it. We ordered two fish tikka masalas, but only one came out at first. The second arrived about 20 minutes later and looked completely different. Both dishes had very little meat and were much milder and less flavorful than expected. Overall, it was disappointing compared to the quality it used to have.
I am usually not someone who leaves bad reviews but this experience was really terrible. The waitresses and the staff were very kind but the owner has literally lost his mind and is very rude. We were charged extra for getting our own water bottles. Seriously?? Had he been upfront about it, we would have gladly left our bottles in the car. Coming to the food, we wanted to try south indian and the dosa was of subpar taste and very oily. The chutneys had a strange pungent smell and was nothing like south indian chutneys. Also, we were charged 3$ extra for the sambhar which is absolutely ridiculous! I also ordered salted lassi which was nothing like a lassi but was more like salted dahi. I would definitely not recommend it to anyone wanting to try decent indian food
