Needed a quick bite when arriving in Miami and it was within walking distance to our hotel. The food was good and well priced.
Staying at an airport hotel sometimes limits your options to eat. But this time I was super lucky to be nearby this Authentic Cuban Cafe. I got Breaded Pork Chops with ham and cheese, fried platan, black beans and fried sweet bananas. Everything tasted so good and when the check came it was an pleasent surprise. I really recommend it
Me and my sis sat outside on the bar stools at the counter. We ordered the fried whole fish and rice. Placed another to go order. We also got a free shot of the Cuban coffee and went back a few days later for the coffee. Everything was delicious. The service was great except some of the waitresses were having a difficult time with understanding English when we were ordering or asking for certain things. Thats ok cause its Miami where mostly everyone speaks Spanish. But, Its also a tourist attraction so that was surprising to me. Google translate and me knowing words in Spanish helped.
A low-key, relaxed rincon with great value. The food portions are good and the food has a home style, comforting quality. They have an extensive menu and their specialty items, like the deep-fried, whole fish are exceptionally satisfying.
Very friendly gals! Food was awesome! Emilio, our Shuttle Driver from Element hotel, nailed it with this recommendation! Very authentic and charming atmosphere, inside and out! Our 1st Miami visit, so glad we checked it out!
My husband and I got lunch here by the wonderful recommendation of our hotel shuttle driver at the Element Hotel near the airport. We hadn't had breakfast so we were quite hungry after our flight. We checked in to the hotel, dropped our bags in the room and the shuttle picked us up from the Element and dropped us off at the restaurant with instructions on how he'd pick us up once we were done. He suggested the Churassco steak so that's what we ordered. It came with 3 delicious side orders. Everything tasted fresh, hot and delicious. This was our first time having Cuban food and it did not disappoint!! I'll make sure stop by again after our cruise for more of that delicious food.
Everything was delicious. We ordered the Friday specials: 1-Seafood stew with a side salad, cup of chicken soup, and boiled yucca. 2- Roasted pork, a side salad, moros y cristianos, and fried yucca. It was a LOT of food for $36! The atmosphere was also exactly what we were looking for: authentic. The restaurant is nestled in an industrial area with indoor and outdoor dining areas. Customers were all local and speaking Spanish. The waitresses spoke some English, but were able to speak amongst themselves to help us understand the menu.
02/28/2023 1500 hours: Oh man! After a week in Ecuador, finding this place during a layover was like heaven. (yeah, yeah, I know what you're thinking: have I been in heaven?). Dropping in at 3pm for a late lunch, the pork was a bit dry but that was to expected. The steak was tasty. The black beans are to die for. The rice was fabulous. Maybe it's just me but even the water tasted great! A steak plate with rice and plantains, a pork cutlet plate with black beans and rice and, a side of black beans set us back $44, a bit steep but worth it. I hope you will come away feeling the same. I might have to stop by here for breakfast on the way to the airport tomorrow. Stay tuned... Give me thumbs up if you agree.
I've eaten here twice when I have had layovers in Miami on the way to and from Antigua on a girls' trip with a friend. The restaurant is near the airport and it was super convenient to get to from my hotel. Wonderful place to get Cuban food and it had a fun atmosphere. The food was great and affordable. Service was nice as well. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!
The food was really well prepared, the vibes we're brilliant. The staff is very hospitable. Overall a recommended place if you're a tourist in Miami.
This place is extremely authentic. We were staying down the street at the Staybridge for two weeks on a business trip, which is how we found the place. Half the staff does not speak English, but they work with you and make it easy to order if you are not comfortable with Spanish. We ate here several times during our stay for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's a very casual place. Prices are fair and food is consistently good.
The atmosphere was like a little mom and pop restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend.
Beautiful place and very nice staff and very nice and friendly.
Stopped by while staying near the airport. Was the perfect right of the plane meal! I read about the prices not being shown on the menu, that has been updated! The staff was friendly and spoke English and Spanish and for those who don’t speak Spanish, Google translate is now fundamental, learning what you like to eat in other Languages won’t kill you. I ate inside but the vibe outside made me happy this was my first experience after arriving in Miami. The food was good (minus the pork sadly, so dry) and reasonably priced. Service was a little slow after we got our food but I consider Miami an island and just figure everyone is on island time lol I was slightly hesitant to give it try based on the other reviews but honestly I have no complaints.
I'm not a Cuban connoisseur. I asked the waitress for a recommendation, so she suggested the fried pork chunks (masas de puerco). I picked fried plantains and black beans as my sides. Everything was very tasty. If I were in Miami longer, I'd definitely come back!! Edit added: Long layover in Miami airport, including a terminal change that took me outside security. Went to Rincon Criollo for lunch and had Lechon Asado, pictured here.
As I waited for a bus, I’m glad this fabulous restaurant was the only place within walking distance. Otherwise I Possibly would have missed out on a great dining experience, One which I highly recommend to anyone in this area. The service was good. The food was even better!! Has I visited Miami area, I did try other places with the same cuisine. Rincon Criollo outdid them all! That old saying you get what you pay for, has been proven wrong! The price was way less than the others, and this place outdid ALL of the others! Kudos to the chef, and staff!!! I will be back as soon as I return, and already passed on the this secret hideaway to my brother and all his colleagues, especially the ones who thought they knew what authentic cuisine was like. Wait till they try Rincon Criollo!
Very nice restaurant, good food, good services!!
Cute, small with outdoor seating. Lovely food and great service, from a gringo.
Excellent Cuban food - the roast pork, sweet plantains, and rice and beans were amazing. Not a dress-up type of restaurant but the food quality and quantity make it well worth
Been here a few times since it’s in walking distance from the hotel I was staying at Food is GREAT service is GREAT too
Our shuttle driver recommended this great local restaurant so we walked there after checking into our hotel and enjoyed a delicious meal! We didn’t know what to order as we’d not had Cuban food before, so our lovely waitress pointed to her favourites on the menu (we couldn’t speak each other’s language) and we loved what we received! Highly recommend!
In case you're wondering, This is a Cuban restaurant. The name was a little confusing for me but no big deal. This place was a pleasant surprise! We had a late flight after our cruise so we had extra time and didn't feel like eating at the airport. This place was very convenient right outside the airport car rental return. I would recommend this place if you're staying at airport hotels or if you have time before your flight and you don't want dinner making you late. We had empanadas, a Cuban sandwich, chicken and my wife loved the chicken soup. The staff was very attentive and friendly.
We stayed at the nearby Holiday Inn Express. This Cuban local restaurant was authentic and affordable. Interesting food with generous portions.
We had the friendliest waitress! She was super hospitable and told us things to try (first time being in Miami) he had the croquette, tortilla rincon criollo, dasayuno ranchero, Cuban coffee, cafe can leche. Everything was so good!! Thank you so so much for the experience, I highly recommend!
Interesting place, I did get fresh squeezed orange juice, the service is kind of weird, the girls keep switching. Yesterday I had to pick a friend from the airport and his flight was delayed, had to find a place close by, came across this place, I like it, has a different feel, I guess the confusion started with the first girl who served me, I asked for orange juice, she right away said 3.75 as if I did not have money to pay, anyways I paid a $10 bill, she brought back the change and the receipt, I kept it there, then I ordered Tuna salad by that time it was another girl, in between another girl comes by and want to take my money as if I owe them for what I paid, it could have been a miscommunication there, plus I don't speak Spanish, so it was fun, have to talk about quality, I love the orange juice they served, Tuna Salad was fresh, they gave croquettes too along with the salad, I am not a fan of croquettes, anyways I love the place, hopefully the girls will like me and understand me. Have to say if you need to kill time a good place to hangout till your time comes to pick who ever from the airport, rather than parked on the side of the road. Honestly I enjoyed the time there, did tip them well too, not that I plan to go there as very few times I go to the Airport.
Easy menu, helpful staff, delicious food, good prices. Thank you!
So good! We were staying close by the airport and were so hungry for a good meal. This place was so good! Our waitress was helpful with suggestions and we loved everything we ordered. The steak and the fried yucca were our favorites.
This is a great place to get a quick bite to eat ! Fast friendly and really close to the airport . In fact noticed several local Uber/Lyft drivers hang out there just for coffee. The parrillada de chorizo was a lot of good, also had to try the empanadas, very good . I’ll be back when I return to Miami. Thanks.
This is the corner cafe I envisioned when I visit Miami. I got the Cuban and my fave Pan con Lechon. You may even get an espresso while you wait. Lovely.
A local Cuban American Restaurant. It was recommended by the desk clerk at the Element. He arranged for the shuttle to drop us off and pick us up. The food was excellent and so was the service A local place, with indoor and outdoor seating . There were couples, groups of friends and families
Was looking for some homemade Cuban food ( I am P.R.) There are a lot of Cuban restaurants in Miami. Came across this hidden gem. The service was amazing but the best part was the cook outdid herself. Will return and recommend to family and friends
Good food (get the empanadas) Rice and beans are fresh average flavor. Sweet plantains were tasty and my favorite side dish. Pork chop was seasoned well with sautéed onions. Server seemed frusted we only spoke English Cash or Zelle only!
A local spot in a busy industrial area by the airport. It is a casual dinner offer Cubano staples in a pleasant informal ambiance. My veg hamburger had no life hence I chopped off a star but other than that rest of the dishes were simple, tasty and authentic. The Tostones were huge and a little on the thick side … very delish. The yucca served with garlic oil/sauce was again nice and earthy … enjoyed it. The Plantain Maduros were right on the mark. The Cubano sandwich was excellent. All in all a well priced & solid eating experience. We may go back there for some breakfast… it has outdoor seating by the open bar and indoor seating as well. Service is excellent.
good tasting food try chicharon de Pollo
I have to clarify that this little place (rincón) is a typical cuban little restaurant. The atmosphere feels like you are transported to any Cuba's regular street (at least that is what I want to remember). Girls at the bar were funny and welcoming. They treat you as if you were from their neighborhood. So, if you want to experience what does it feel to be "parte del barrio" and eat some "merienda en la esquina" this could be the place you are looking for.
If you’re looking for an authentic family style non-fancy Cuban restaurant near the Miami airport this place is it. Everybody’s really friendly, however they completely screwed up my order half the things are wrong half the things were missing. The service was horrible but despite that they’re really friendly so who cares. Certainly worth a visit and it’s not expensive. It’s an industrial area, you can walk here from Tri-Rail Miami Airport stop in about two minutes.
5 stars for flavour! Yummmm! I Visited in early November 2020 and I couldn't be more pleased! Had the grilled fish with rice and beans and green plantains. Pros: Delicious well-seasoned food Fresh fish Fast service Varied menu options Generous portion in each serving Cons: The lunch counter stools are not spaced (or blocked off in any way) So inconsiderate customers can come up and sit right close to you. Not good for Pandemic situation. Warning the mixed rice and beans contains meat that looks like Pork and that wasn't clear up front. I eat meat, but it could be misleading for a vegetarian. I would happily go back here and highly recommend it for a quick lunch and good coffee.
I love their Cafe con Leche; I always stop here whenever I visit Miami. Sometimes the service is a little inconsistent. They seem to cater to the regulars a little better than the occasional. Food is always hot but can sometimes take a while.
The Cuban sandwich I got was very average..... I would go back again and try a different plate..... But the atmosphere does seem really good like it's a Vibe and a great place to hang out and drink and eat
Based on reviews and my own experience, it seems rhat maybe sticking to the official Cuban food is the way to go. I ordered a burger and my husband got a Cuban sandwich. It took close to 40 minutes to get our food and no one checked in on us. The burger had a char gas taste, my husband described it as them using too much lighter fluid on a grill. My husband's Cuban sandwich was just ham, turkey, cheese and Pickles. I
Good food overall, not great sandwiches. Slow service, but nice. Inside and outside seating.
The food was really good but the service was almost non existent. No one greeted us when we entered. We had to grab our own menus that were left on tables. Same goes for our silverware. The server came by a few minutes later completely unapologetic. When I was ordering she didn't acknowledge my husband because he is white and doesn't speak Spanish. The rest of time we were there she came by twice. Once to deliver the food the next time was to pick up our empty plates. After sitting for 15 min I finally flagged her down to get the check. To be fair she seemed to be the only server working. I would return because it was affordable and the food was delicious
Cuban sandwich and fries. Processed white cheese, processed meat, dry commercial bun. Like a jacked up grilled cheese. Service with a scowl (at least when eating outside), downright unfriendly. Won’t be back.
Had a very long layover at the airport and thought this place would be nice to eat outside the airport. Easy to get to if you walk north out of the Miami airport bus station. Sat down around 11am for lunch. Took a long time just to get a waitress to take our order. I wanted one of the daily specials. They didn’t have it available. I asked the people at the next table what they thought of the chicken sandwich they ate. They suggested ordering something different. I was interested in ordering one of the chicken plates. I asked the waitress how much it cost since the menu had white out over all the prices. It was $17. In the end, we decided to leave. Service was slow, don’t like ordering food not knowing how much anything costs, and the portion sizes were small for the price charged. We ended up eating back in the airport.
The food is terrible. I order "pollo asado" and they brought me "pollo al horno" which ia totally different thing, it was dry and without any taste, and a small portion. I did reclame it isn't what I asked but the answer was that it is. The "patacones" were big but full of oil, no taste at all, all together the worst food I have eaten and I am not a complainer really, so you can imagine how bad it was. If you are staying in Sheraton Airport Hotel it is nearby, also next to the airport and train station.
Food was dry, very little English spoken by staff Tip is automatically added to the bill, I paid cash and they were trying to hide this on the receipt, holding it in a way so I wouldn't see it Be careful of such actions, they try to take advantage of the tourists
Waitress was nice, but after our food was served we never saw her again anywhere. It took close to 1/2 hour to get our check. I ordered the Cuban sandwich which had 1 slice ham, 1 slice cheese, and a few pickles, mayo. The people next to us had to return their order twice. Sorry won't go back.
What a disappointment! My family and I came to Miami for the first time and were looking forward to authentic Cuban food that would be within our dietary perimeters (any meat except pork for us all and one of us with GF needs), close to the hotel. I understand that Cuban food has a lot of pork options, but our waitress didn’t even know that ham was pork. We really didn’t like that prices weren’t written on the menu. The ceviche was way too bitter and tangy. She said the turkey sandwiches came with fries, but then made us order a side of it because it did not come out with it. And the sandwiches had two thin slices of turkey. She had to go back to the kitchen several times to find out the answer to every one of our questions. I don’t leave reviews often but this was NOT a good first experience.
I went here after a recommendation from Holiday Inn Express which is where I spent the night. This was a very bad recommendation and from the first bite I could tell they must get some kickback incentive from recommending people to this establishment. My family and I ordered empanadas, chicken, and other dishes and everything was extremely bland. I was very disappointed. I can tell others also recommend this place because people were pulling up in vans getting out to eat while the driver socialize with the employees. If they didn’t have out of town guests patronizing this establishment this would go out of business. Prices are average. I will not recommend this place to family or friends.
Staff is super rude and they are very nonchalant. Totally disregarded, pretended she could not see me.
I rarely give one star to a place. This place deserves it. From the unkindness and attitude and inpatient of the waitresses (really, I just arrived to drink coffee and have a bite) . To cheat me with the price, disgusting coffee (made it extremely sweet. I didn't ask for any sweetness) and the plain sandwich, small portions, unfresh products. Really, haven't seen such a bad place in a while. I guess that's the price you pay for where to eat arriving at the airport going to the transportation center and having time to waste. So disappointing. I hoped for a nice experience in a Cuban place (which I love).
Worst customer service experience.Menu does not have prices we even had to ask how much was it but the waiter just give us estimate of $8-9 but it was more than what we were charged. The waitress took our order then when they serve the food it was all wrong orders we told them we didn’t order those but the server was giving us an attitude and way too RUDE! She was talking on her own language you can tell that she is bad mouthing us like it was our fault other customers could hear her.Afterwards we ask for the bill they charged us items that we did not even order. Which is more than $10. They even added the tip without our consent. We just notice after we left. They’re deceiving customers. Think before you dine!!!
I like the place but the staff are worse than bad service. They are stealing from customers, I ordered a dish that their menu says $8.95 and a soda. The lady forgot my soda and I told her twice, the place was dead. When I finished my meal I asked for the check here is the second time they do this and I watched other girls do it other clients. They do not bring out the check and receipt for you just the card reader with no itemized items. My bill was $15.45. My bill should be $12 max with service charge at 20% and state tax. I’m not picky at all I was a bartender but theft I do not tolerate. Last time give them business. The management has to clean stafff because those girls are use too this and won’t change. So common in the hospitality industry and frustration.
The service was so bad never came back to see if we needed anything else and our steak sandwiches taste like vinegar and we ask for one of are steak dinner well done for the kids and was raw
The only convenient thing for my family and I was it was 5 minutes from our hotel. When getting our food our rice and fries were cold and we were literally next to the kitchen. We decided to try the desserts and while others got milkshakes we tried tres leches cakes. Since we were leaving we decided to take it to our hotel and when we got to try it we literally spit the cake out because the milk was rotten. Overall I honestly wouldn’t return to this place and hope they pay a bit more of attention to the food they serve to clients.
I ordered a sandwich around 8 pm (they close at 9:30) and paid. After a while I asked the waitress about the order and she said it was coming. They literally closed the business on me and never provided any food. I showed them my amex app and that I paid and they refused to give me a refund or any food. The waitress laughed, went inside, and locked the door behind her. It was insane.
Poor customer service! Was not worth wasting my money. Was willing to give it a try but the server didnt even make an effort. Disappointed. Maybe if I was a guy she would of made more of effort.
