Aroy is one of those very special places you go to once , and keep coming back to. Not only for an amazing meal , but It becomes the place to celebrate life’s special occasions . The heartbeat of this wonderful restaurant is the woman who owns it , Lapat. She puts her heart and soul into every dish. She is so full of joy and is so incredibly kind . Do yourself a favor and drive over to Aroy and try one Lapats incredible meals, you won’t be disappointed. Oh , did I forget to mention it’s a totally vegan restaurant? Don’t worry , you won’t even miss the meat! Aroy is a gem!

We have been multiple times for dine in dinners, and also for take out. The food is unbelievably good! We love having a menu that we can order anything off of. That's rare in the vegan world. The food is authentic Thai and packed with flavor. The owner is one of the kindest people I've met and she is supportive of the middletown community as well as the lgbtqia community in the area. All around, it is a win win to eat there! Highly highly recommend!

Aroy seriously has some of the best food around. It truly does not matter if you have never intentionally eaten vegan, this place is for everyone. The food is fresh and homemade in house to order. The drinks are delish and every single appetizer will have you salivating. Make a special effort to go here, you will not be disappointed!!! The owner is also one of the sweetest people around❤️

Amazing to see a fully vegan Thai restaurant. The options are endless and the food is so yummy. The cream cheese wontons and orange “chicken” is my favorite. If I lived in CT, I would be here all the time. Everyone (vegan or not) should give it a try!

Lapat is a doll and her food is amazing! I bring all my friends here, even if they aren’t vegan, and they all love it. The taste and unique dishes she puts together are incredible! I am also participating in the weekly meal plan and really enjoy it. While everything I have had is wonderful, I always fall back on the Tom Yum soup. Thank you Lapat and team for bringing healthy, tasty, made with love vegan dishes to the neighborhood ❤️❤️❤️

Aroy is incredible and one of my favorite restaurants in CT. The owner is incredibly sweet, friendly, and accommodating and you can see how much passion and love she has for her business. Their tom yum noodles are my favorite entree, but you really can't go wrong with any of their offerings. Their portions are huge and we always end up having leftovers which is great. I've taken non-vegan friends here and they've all loved the food. After all, good food is good food! You don't have to be vegan to enjoy plant-based eating.

Went to Arou Thai garden for a birthday dinner. We were so happy to learn everything here is VEGAN.!!!!Just love the compassion for animals here! There was only one waitress and the service could use improvement but we didn't care.. having an all vegan menu is Absolutely Fantastic 😍🐐✨👍 The oyster mushroom tempura was particularly wonderful! The massamun curry was really really good too. Thank you Aroy Thai Garden for the animals! We will definitely return to your lovely restaurant.

Tonight we tried Aroy Thai in Middletown and were genuinely impressed.
I ordered the Panang curry and it was outstanding — rich, flavorful, and so good I had to stop myself from drinking the sauce. We chose a spice level 3, which offered the perfect balance of heat without being overwhelming. Even as someone who enjoys spice, I think level 4 would have been intense. I also tried the Thai Khao fried rice, which was packed with flavor and vegetables. Mixing the curry sauce with the rice made it even better. For a drink, we ordered the Thai iced tea. It was sweet and creamy, similar to a chocolate milk in texture and sweetness but with its own distinct taste. Aroy Thai is a locally owned, fully vegan, family-run restaurant and absolutely one to add to your “must try” list in Middletown. We also sampled the vegan pork — not my personal favorite, though I’m looking forward to trying another protein option next time. Don’t let the meatless menu deter you; the dishes are full of flavor and thoughtfully prepared. We will definitely be back.

By far the best Thai food I’ve ever had in my 30yrs as a vegan! I cannot say enough good things about this lovely restaurant! Cucumber salad, curry puffs, spicy basil fried rice, cashew stir fry, coconut cake and strawoffee dessert were all divine!!!!!! From the friendly servers to the casual and comfortable atmosphere we had a wonderful meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we will be back with friends!

I love visiting Aroy Thai Garden and crave the food on a regular basis! I always get the Thai tea, it was a favorite of mine before going vegan so finding a vegan one is a treat!! I’ll always get the crab Rangoon too, so perfect. I love all the apps I’ve tried (sushi, fried spring rolls, steamed dumplings, pork belly, cream cheese rolls) but crab Rangoon if my favorite. My favorite dishes are any of the curries with steamed tofu, pad Thai, or drunken noodles. I need to explore the menu more for entrees but usually am craving the curry. The picture I uploaded is mango curry. I got the banofee for dessert, it hit the spot! My favorite dessert here is the creme brûlée though. The staff is always friendly and helpful, they are also very knowledgeable about the menu if you have questions! I also love how supportive the staff and owner is for other vegan businesses.

Always have an amazing experience when I go to my favorite fully vegan Thai restaurant. I have been going here since it opened and have been here countless times, every dish is delicious but my favorite is the khao soi (picture). The people are friendly and the owner a special friend, so thankful for this place. Definitely check it out, you’ll love it!

Where do I begin! As far as flavor I can’t say enough about this dishes. BUT last night although the flavor was as always a 10 the quantity was so small , almost the size of an appetizer, or a small salad bowl for the price. I was left hungry in finding something else to eat at home. Last night we had a drunken noodle with added beef, which is the one I’m referring to.

Super nice, delicious food! Fried pork belly is unreal, so good. Went with family(non vegans) they liked the food. Drunken noodles, grilled eggplant with imposible beef, general tso chiken, stir fried noodles with chiken everything was awesome. Thank you!

The food is amazing!! The owner is so sweet and only wants you to love her food and you taste that love in every bite. She has perfected the flavors of all the dishes! It’s a beautiful place to dine in. The servers are so kind and check frequently to be sure you have what you need. I wish I lived closer because I’d be there way more.

Update 10/23/24: We visited Aroy Thai for a second time, and I think I’m even more impressed! This time we made sure to try some of the appetizers, and I found some of my new favorite menu items! The fried wontons were incredible, and I absolutely loved the beautiful purple color of the fresh dumplings. The crispy pork belly might be even better than real pork belly, and the yum Kai sabb was so flavorful. This night was quieter than our first visit and we found the service to be great. Original: This was our first time going to a completely vegan Thai restaurant, and we were very impressed! It’s nice that Thai cuisine is already so veggie-heavy and uses coconut milk in a lot of its curries and sauces, so it was easy to adapt. I couldn’t believe the variety of plant-based proteins that were offered - it’s not every day you see vegan shrimp, duck, and crispy pork offered on a menu! Everything was so tasty, with our favorites being the Khao Soi and Tom yum noodles without soup. Even on a busy Tuesday night, the service was great. This is a fantastic spot to know about in downtown Middletown!

This restaurant deserves to succeed. The food is full of flavor and the portions on entrees are awesome! Update: The staff have gotten more familiar with the menu and offerings and service is phenomenal. Everyone is knowledgeable about ingredients, allergens, and the speed of service has greatly improved over the past year. The menu is huge. It's been refined and updated frequently. There's always someone new to try! The dining atmosphere feels dated, but not offensive or dirty so it was perfectly fine for my family. It is quite a large restaurant. Half of it is blocked off with chairs during the slower times. Not the best appearance but I get why they do it. This sounds like a rant but I'm nitpicking. The food and people are super nice and genuinely want you to have a great meal. The food lived up to the hype, and my family had a great time. We will certainly be back again in the future and wish the new owners the best of luck! We're so happy to see another fully vegan restaurant in CT!

We went in and were surprised the place was all vegan! With that being said everything was still delicious! We got the fresh spring rolls with “shrimp” it tasted like real shrimp! My husband got their Pad Thai and that was really good too. But what was the BEST was the Khao Soi! Hands down the best one I had so far in the States. Their Thai Ice was also good! They make it with homemade soy milk! Keeping it vegan!

I came here back in July with my friend. I won’t lie, I was a little skeptical because the menu is all vegan. But, I was not disappointed at all! To start, I had a Thai Iced Tea and my friend had Thai Coffee. It was my first time having something like that and it was so good!! For our appetizer, we had fried dumplings and OH MY GOD. They were amazing, I could not believe they were vegan. For my entree I had tom yum noodles and she had pad thai. Both were so good! It was so flavorful. I enjoyed this place more than the other thai places I’ve tried. Our server (i think he was the owner actually) was so nice! We had a good time and I would definitely come here again.

I was surprised to see a fully vegan Thai place and this was on my list for a while. We were not disappointed - everything is completely vegan, and they have lots of options. I really loved the tofu pockets and the gluten free dumplings! They noodles were great but I do wish they had more veggies! I would definitely go back.

This place is AMAZING! My new fave restaurant. I can’t believe it’s all vegan- I was truly overwhelmed in the best way at the amount of options. The chef & owner came out to take our order and she was so sweet, accommodating, and passionate about the food. She even told us that if we didn’t like anything to please tell her so we made sure we loved our meals. We got the crab rangoons, wontons, pad see yew, and tom yum noodles. Everything was AMAZING! We also got mango sticky rice as this is something I always want but is hard to find vegan- it was delicious (as shown in the pic I dug in before even getting a photo)!!!! AND our meal was so affordable- we most definitely will be here again!

This is by far the best restaurant I have ever been to. It is a fully 100% vegan restaurant, I am not vegan but if you never told me it was vegan i would never know. The food is absolutely fantastic and the portions are huge. The staff is so friendly and eager to please and customize your dish to your liking. But the owner/chef, Lapat, is the best part of the whole place. She is so amazing and friendly. Always comes out to greet her customers when she has a spare moment. She is always wanting to be sure you have the best meal and will customize anything for you. I urge to to go try Aroy, vegan or not, you will not be disappointed and i promise you will want to go back again and again. I drive from New Haven to Middletown as often as my schedule allows to enjoy the most amazing meals as often as I can. Like I said vegan or not, GO!! Don't miss out on the best thai food in CT or probably the whole country. This is as authentic as you can get. And you will always leave with a bag full of leftovers because the portions are huge. Enjoy!! I know I will many more times!!

Gotta love a colorful lunch! We finally got to Aroy Thai Garden for lunch yesterday. I love great creative food and this certainly fit the bill. Flavorful well prepared and served with a smile. I can see why everyone raves about it. We ate the roti and “beef” satay appetizers before I thought to take a pic we also ordered steamed dumplings, drunken noodles and fried rice with tofu. We shared everything and enjoyed it all. My MIL came with us and she can’t wait to go back. Did I mention she’s not easy to impress?

I would firstly, like to start off by saying that I first heard about this restaurant through a Facebook vegan group. I am so happy that I found this restaurant and I got to experience the food. The food was absolutely phenomenal. Our table had no issues or concerns. Everything was very delicious very tasteful and very satisfying. The atmosphere was very calm and relaxing. The appetizers were amazing and they all had their own respective sauces which were all delicious! I will say this was a 10/10 experience. If you enjoy vegan food I’d say absolutely go for it but also enjoyable if you are not vegan! Edit : I will say that at this point I’ve been to this restaurant about 6x and always order the fried ice cream - one thing that I will say is that the presentation is never the same. It’s very inconsistent as sometimes the fried ice cream ball is smaller or bigger. And so is the presentation of the fruits on the plate. Would love to see more consistency in regards to this as it’s my favorite in any restaurant

I am very disappointed with this restaurant. The prices listed online is lower than what I was charged when I went to pick up my order. All the items were almost double in price! I paid $15 PER appetizer- small box the size of my hand (see below). Mind you that this is just fried vegetables with a dipping sauce. I was also charged $30 per entree (see below) -I believe there was an uncharge with fried rice for the WRONG order. I ordered the General tsos with mushroom not meatless chicken. Appetizers and entree was mediocre. The cucumber salad was good (hard to get wrong) and is not worth $17, I got it almost for $8 at other asian restaurants. The food unexpectedly over priced, in addition to that the receptionist Stephen is rude. When I got home and opened up my order I was more disappointed with the size of the overpriced appetizers and the wrong order which I mentioned to the receptionist 3 times as mushroom general tsos..Due to the false advertisement food prices, overpriced food and sarcasm/behavior of the receptionist I will not be returning. Its too bad because I ordered from here a while ago and raved about it to many people. They have declined in quality overall
