After arriving in Milan at noon on the 28th, we visited this restaurant after finishing our tour and found it via Google Maps. As I am a lacto-ovo vegetarian, it is usually difficult to find good vegetarian food while traveling abroad. Due to the language barrier, ordering was not easy, but thankfully the owner was very kind and attentive, helping us choose suitable dishes. This became the best lunch we had during our trip from Taiwan to Italy. What touched us even more was that before we finished our meal, the owner kindly asked whether we would like more rice. We were already very full, so we could only sincerely thank him for his thoughtfulness.
Govinda offers delicious, healthy, and fully vegetarian food right in the heart of Milan. The meals are served with genuine spiritual warmth, and the uplifting atmosphere makes the experience even more special. Thank you for nourishing us so well. And Jonathan was especially warm and welcoming🙏🙏

we were two hungry travelers just in Mailand for a stopover of 3 hours , and found this nice place on too good to go. We were welcomed with big arms by Jonathan, who invited us in, to enjoy a wonderful vegetarian dinner at Govinda. He even brought us some desert. Everything just because he thought we needed it :) and he was very right with his suggestion. In the end he invited us to look at the tempel downstairs, it was wonderful to see such a peacful, holy place. We‘re very thankful, that we were invited to such a nice place in the middle of Mailand <3 Looking forward to the next time
If you're vegan and in the city, you have to check this place out! Great food, great service and great vibes. There is even a temple below the restaurant!
It is a great option for those looking for something interesting and different in Milan. Staff were incredibly friendly and patiently talked us through the numerous dishes. The food was amazing and surpassed expectations. Be aware that they don't serve alcohol here, so if you're looking for a boozy evening, this probably isn't the right place. Would go again, would recommend.
Absolutely delicious food, freshly prepared and really great service. At first, I was surprised not to see any Indians among the staff, and was a bit skeptical. But, once the food came, all prejudices were thrown overboard. Generous portions, nicely presented and VERY tasty. Among the dishes, they had my favorite Indian dish, called Sag Paneer that day - couldn't have had it any better. Also the condiments were nice. They even made a fresh mango lassie for me, which was not on their lunch menu. The very friendly staff really went out of their way. In the end, I even received a delicious little sweet, made out of chickpeas (which you had never guessed). Next time, I am in Milano, I will make sure to pass by again. Greatly recommend!
During our visit to Milan, we stumbled upon this delightful vegan/vegetarian restaurant completely by coincidence. From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted with exceptionally warm and welcoming service. The staff explained dish on the menu and how to eat it to have the best experience. When the food arrived, we were quite exited cause it looked very tasteful. The portion were incredibly generous, and by the end of the meal, all four of us were absolutely stuffed. We very much enjoyed the food. The entire experience, from the friendly service to the dishes, made our visit truly memorable. We left the restaurant feeling not only satisfied but also eager to return.

The architecture and decor create a serene and captivating environment that enhances the overall experience. What truly sets Govinda apart is the Indù temple located underneath the restaurant. Visiting the temple was a profound experience, as it exudes a peaceful energy that leaves you feeling calm and rejuvenated. Located in the crowded center of Milan, Govinda offers a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle. Highly recommended!
I was already very happy my husband brought me to this Indian vegetarian / vegan restaurant for my bday surprise dinner. Turned out the hosts, the chef are all monks from ISKCON temple. And there’s a temple in the basement. Jonathan and the other lady were very kind. Jonathan gave me a gift of Bhagavad Gita book. And this became the ‘highlight’ of our trip in Milan. I was overjoyed and blessed to have the opportunity to experience this kindness. The food was very light, delicious and based on Sattvic custom. The atmosphere in the restaurant was pure and light. And I’ve visited the temple below. Thank you Jonathan! We will be back for sure. 😍❤️🫶
Amidst the hustle and bustle of the busiest street of Milan I found a place that filled not only my stomach but also my soul. The ambience of this place specially for a Hindu devotee is a class apart. I could not believe such a place could exist right in the heart of Milan. The food feeds your soul. Vegan/vegetarian Cuisine only. Run by Iscon group & the staff devotees of Lord Krishna. Best Thali experience I had outside India. The only thing missing was Phulka roti. The staff is extremely kind and for all those trying Thali for the first time everything on the menu is explained. It also has a temple in the basement. The entire experience was serene.
Incredibile culinary experience at the revived Hare Krishna Govinda restaurant at the very heart of Milan. The quality has improved considerably at decent prices in a all-you-can type of menu, both vegetarian and vegan. Try it, you will not be disappointed.
The only sattvik vegetarian restaurant in Milano. Must visit vegetarian restaurant for anyone visiting Milano. > Ambience 5 > Thali/Meal Plate 5 > Taste 5 A fine dine restaurant so a bit pricey but worth it. I have visited thrice and will definitely visit when I am in Milano next. Will definitely recommend to everyone who would like to have a vegetarian fine dine experience in Milano. For those of us who wanna visit more often it will be good to have an extended menu.
The best eggplant lasagna I’ve had recently and their panna cotta was crazy good, it was delicious!!!! Must try when you are in Milan!!!
Really nice location and lovely vegetarian/vegan food from one of Milan’s most renowned bakers. Seasonal, inventive dishes with the right mix of exotic and traditional. Visited in autumn, so conforting soups and a lot of tasty root vegetables. Great choice of non-alcoholic cocktails and kombucha (a very good Italian brand). Kudos!
Very friendly personal, there is one fixed menue daily, tipical indian tally (many small dishes on a big plate), but with mild mediteranian spiced. You can ask for a second and third serving, included in price. It is mainly lacto vegetarian, but you can ask for vegan and gluten free options. Real oasis 10 minutes from Milan catedral.
Simple vegetarian food in the middle of the shopping district. Food was tasty and in fact too much for one person. It’s served as a fixed menu so no complexity in choosing Indian menu options while experiencing the usual full 3-4 course Indian meal. If you are looking to become vegetarian, this is a great place to start because apart from the food they also have a strong social mission. Also great for a quick eat as the food was served super fast.

Place has nothing to do with Indian food. Charging 18 euro, the society is providing good food which resembles that of India or rather to say Italino food cooked in Indian style. Quality and quantity of food is appreciable. Food is cooked by the working staff from Mauritius. Can try for a change. Society is operated by ISKON group. You have to sign the membership of society to enjoy the food.. Basement of building has small idols of lord Krishna. Jai shri Krishna!⁸
It’s clear people like this place but it wasn’t for me. Fully vegetarian or vegan Thali, no options. It sounded good and looked nice, but dishes had no flavor for me, which is why I go to Indian, for bold flavors. Maybe it was an off day? I won’t be going back.
Poor service and control.We visited the restaurent and opted for takeaway of Shahi Paneer along with chapatis as we were told that they have only one option as vegetable of the day. When we reached home we found yellow daal instead of Shahi paneer that too tasteless and diluted with water....Absolute waste of money and time......A never to go restuarent there is lack of control and ethics.
