Opinions de Hayami Milano
A truly wonderful place with amazing hosts — some of the best sushi I’ve ever had in my life! Thank you🙏🏼🤍
Incredible!! Went there by chance because it looked cute and authentic from the outside. It turned out to be the best sushi and salmon tartare I ever had. And the owners were unbelievably kind and passionate about the experience of all guests. We will definitely come here again!
I stumbled upon this delightful little spot for dinner by chance, a day before the restaurant closes for summer vacation—July 2025. The location is small but meticulously maintained, a slice of Japan in Milan. It's family-run, split between a husband and wife team, and their daughter, who helps out at the tables with a quiet beauty and grace that doesn't go unnoticed. The quality of the fish is excellent, and the creations range from classic to more unusual specials. The tartare (we had the tuna one) is absolutely noteworthy, and I'd call it superb, with avocado, chopped chives, and a smooth yet delicate and out-of-this-world sauce. A pleasant discovery was the special nigiri with extra virgin olive oil: I usually ask for olive oil at sushi (because I like it mixed with soy) and everyone looks askance at me; here, however, not only have they incorporated it divinely into the dishes, but the quality of the oil chosen is decidedly top-notch. The dishes are first displayed on an iPad and explained before you order to help you choose, and then commented on when they arrive at your table, with thoughtful suggestions, such as which order to follow to best enjoy the various types of fish. What more can I say? The atmosphere here is warm, friendly, and passionate, and in Milan that never hurts. We hadn't booked, and there were no free tables (they have limited seating, so reservations are recommended!), but the owner was immediately accommodating and willing to find a solution for us. In short, I absolutely recommend it. Have a great holiday, and we'll see you again in September to try the carpaccio!
This is arguably the best—and most underrated—sushi spot in Milan. The fish is incredibly fresh, the menu offers a wide and thoughtful selection, and the service is impeccable. I’ll definitely be coming back for more.
I’ve been eating sushi my entire life. Coast to coast, hole-in-the-walls to high-end omakase — I don’t discriminate (well… maybe I draw the line at gas stations). I’ve sampled rolls in every major city, chased down chef recs, and even sat through some questionable wasabi experiments. So believe me when I say: Hayami in Milan is in a league of its own. Scratch that — it’s the best meal I’ve ever had. Full stop. From the moment you walk in, you’re wrapped in warmth. The couple who runs the place has that rare magic: effortlessly welcoming and deeply passionate. The ambiance is minimalist but intimate, with an energy that whispers, you’re about to experience something special. And then… the sushi. It. Is. UN. REAL. Every piece is a masterclass in freshness, flavor, and balance. Fish so fresh it practically glows. Cuts so clean they melt on your tongue. The kind of craftsmanship that makes time pause for a second. You won’t find anything like it — not in Tokyo, not in NYC, not anywhere. Even the desserts and beverages are intentional, beautifully curated extensions of the meal. Every detail sings. If you’re in Milan and you skip Hayami, I’m genuinely sorry for your life choices. This isn’t just sushi. It’s an experience. One I’ll be chasing for a long, long time.
I have been here yesterday and I will definitely come back, the food was very good (I took some ramen and a vegetarian poke).
Perfect poke bowl, beautiful place and very nice people.
Hayami in Milan offers one of the best poke bowls I've had in town, blending fresh ingredients with a perfect balance of flavors. The staff is exceptionally welcoming, adding to the overall positive experience with their attentive and friendly service. The ambiance at Hayami transports you straight to Japan, with its authentic decor and serene atmosphere, making it a standout dining destination in the city. I definitely recommend visiting!
This place deserves 5 thousand stars! 5 minutes in, and you immediately understand why this place has the perfect 5.0 score. We loved everything about it! The food, the atmosphere, the staff, everything! The lady working there is the kindest and nicest person one can imagine and interacting with her was so sweet and enjoyable! She made us feel more than welcome: she made us feel at home! We ordered poke and I can easily say that was the best poke we ever had! All ingredients were super fresh and the shrimp was the crispiest and most delicious shrimp I have ever tasted! I can't recommend this place highly enough and can't wait to go back!
Amazing service, and fantastic experience even though we went late
Quality food and great service. It was our first time dining in here - the service was amazing, the couple who manages the restaurant have a great way of making sure everyone has a nice experience.
I think the best sushi I had so far in Milan, and the place is so cozy! The owner is incredibly nice and friendly, even though I think it is quite a new place, everyone inside seemed to already know each other very well. I tried uramaki misto, uramaki sake with cooked salmon and pistachio, and suzuki nigiri. The quality of the fish is amazing, it simply melted in the mouth! Sushi made with love :)
The best sushi in the area! Always fresh ingredients and super delicious food. Love the owners! They are amazing people! It is always a pleasure to come there. Highly recommended!
Honestly the best sushi I’ve trued till now in Italy. Excellent service: we were offered to drink prosecco and water, while waiting for takeout for free. I would definitely come back there more then once!
It’s a great experience. The ambiance is very welcoming charming and cozy. Amazing food and service (beautiful food presentation). The owners are extremely knowledgeable and make great recommendations, very friendly as well ♥️. The Sushi Chef is very good! thumbs up!!👍🏼 I recommend to everyone!!👍🏼👍🏼
Great food, I had an excellent Poke in this place, nice staff and welcoming environment
Best sushi bar in town, really outstanding, quality and super lovely and friendly owners. You need to try Uromaki misto special, amazing ❤️
Just added it in my favorite sushi bar list. Great staff and lovely atmosphere. The food quality is amazing! You should definitely visit this place!
Success can be overwhelming if you don't know how to manage it. Excellent quality sushi place, very small and always packed. Reservations are absolutely essential, and this is where the problems begin. If you arrive without a reservation (especially on weekends, it happened to me on Friday evening), you'll be greeted by the courteous (I imagine) owner at the register. After informing you that there are no seats, he'll invite you to make a reservation by calling the number provided, along with a photocopied slip of paper. This is the first flaw: given the level of quality the restaurant offers and manages to achieve (it's truly very good, I've been going there since the beginning), the very inexpensive business card isn't up to par with the offerings, but that's okay, you can't have everything. They're always very busy (it's a small restaurant), and deservedly so. However, too much success can overwhelm them, and that's what's happening. If you try calling during lunch or dinner hours, you'll notice that they're rightfully in a hurry, and then, when you ask for a date and time, a maze of pseudo-excuses begins, revealing that they're (rightly) playing a sort of Tetris game with the calendar to try (rightly) to maximize seating. The quality of service declines, but that's normal. That's why I say they're clearly overwhelmed by their success. So, reservations are recommended, even several days in advance. Finally, if you're eating some of the best sushi in Milan, you'll experience a kind of dystonia where the extremely kind owner at the cash register and the equally kind young waitress are counterbalanced by a woman behind the counter who, evidently, has less of a handle on success and makes everything extremely unpleasant (at times) because she's basically always behind the counter and interacts relatively little with customers. So, 1 star as an incentive to improve, ready to revise it upwards, 5 stars for the food because it deserves it.
