We genuinely had the most beautiful evening at this restaurant. The food is cooked with love, its fresh and full of flavour. The chef is authentic, kind and wonderfully funny, which makes the experience even more special. I truly can’t recommend this place enough. It feels like eating with family, and that’s my favourite kind of restaurant
We called around 5:00 just to ask if they happened to be open. Someone answered and said, “Sure, come by — we’ll feed you.” When my wife and I arrived, the restaurant was technically closed, but the door said to knock, so we did. The chef himself opened the door, welcomed us inside, and invited us to sit down — even though the entire restaurant was closed. He took time to talk with us, showed us photos, and then cooked an incredible meal just for us. We had a lasagna that was absolutely unbelievable, followed by a shrimp pasta that was outstanding. He also served hot bread with a perfect crust and a wonderful white wine to go with the meal. This was pure hospitality. Going out of their way to feed two travelers when they weren’t even open says everything about the chef and this place. Memorable food, genuine kindness, and an experience we won’t forget.

La Corte Di San Maurilo – 5/5, unforgettable The main attraction here has to be the owner. You either understand his feeling and sentiment, or you probably do not get past the door, ha ha. He genuinely enjoys his job, his food, and his character shows in everything he does. He cooks with real passion, takes pride in every dish, and brings personality to the entire experience. The food is excellent, generous, and full of flavour. Everything feels honest and made with care rather than rushed or commercial. Portions are substantial, quality is high, and the value for money is outstanding. Yes, he is quirky, but that is exactly what makes this place special. It is not just a meal, it is an experience you will remember long after you leave. Come for the atmosphere, enjoy the food, and leave with a truly unforgettable experience.

The vibe was fun, and unmistakably Italian, the kind of place where you instantly feel welcome and want to stay longer. 11/10! Adorable place, there was only one chef working when we came but even with a language barrier he was absolutely hilarious. The only thing better than his personality was the food. Also don’t be daunted by the sign that says to knock- there’s no other way for him to know you’re there.

Wow!!! What an incredible find!!! For our first night in Milan, we couldn’t have chosen better. La Corte di San Maurillio is tucked away on a little side street, where Chef Maurizio himself greeted us at the door and welcomed us like old friends. His passion, handwritten menu, and even his iPhone photo gallery made ordering a delight. We savored bruschetta with burrata, seafood spaghetti, grande ravioli, and an unforgettable tiramisu—hands down the best pasta (and dessert!) we’ve ever had. The food, the wine, the warmth… it all exceeded every expectation. We’ve already booked our next visit before leaving Milan! Jim and Sandy

Never have I ever experienced such great service and truly breathtaking food!!!!! This spot is a must if you’re visiting milan. The chef is extremely kind, he even brought me a tiramisu at the end of my meal without me ordering it and it surely was the best tiramisu i’ve ever had 👏👏

Probably one of the best pasta dishes I’ve had in my life. The seafood pasta was exceptional and the carbonara was the best one I’ve ever tried. Everything is prepared fresh on the spot and you can really taste that. The chef is not just a chef but a host who will entertain you, passionate about his cooking and will make you feel at home, as if you’re visiting one of your Italian friends in their house. A truly unforgettable experience and would love to go there again. Grazie mille!!

Perfecto! We ordered shrimp spaghetti, shrimp risotto and end it with a tiramisu. Portion is generous, shrimp was fresh, spaghetti and risotto are well cooked. This is a place u must visit when u come Milan! I personally love the tiramisu, oh my, the best tiramisu I ever had!
I was excited to find the place with authentic food in the ʼluxurious’ middle of the city. The restaurant has unique atmosphere and in the heart of it of course the Chef 👨🍳 . Passionate person who is taking care of everything.
