Honestly probably the best pasta I’ve had in Italy (also exceptional puntarelle salad), and an overall amazing experience – the restaurant is tiny and cute, the service is extremely friendly and authentic, the clientele is a mix of locals and foreigners, the prices are reasonable considering the exceptional quality. Conveniently located not too far from Porta Garibaldi station, so you can drop there between two trains (definitely worth the detour).

Latteria’s Spaghetti Al Limone E Pepperoncino Verde lives rent free in my head. A highlight of my visit to Milan and i highly recommend that you try if you are accustomed to a little heat and sharpness in flavour. This restaurant is a laidback casual environment that concentrates on seating you and dishing up food. You can’t book a table … you just have to wait in line which is fine by me the two of us waited 30mins and it was worth it. Enjoy a dessert and a digestivo. This place will give you a real Italian experience. The staff are quite busy so don’t expect to get a bunch of questions answered about any dish you want to try. The atmosphere was cosy and a cute puppy even dropped in. I can’t wait to revisit when next in Milan :)

We were told that the restaurant opens at 12:30, but by 12:00 90% of the seats were already filled. Reservations not possible. Bottarga salad and lemon pasta are the best. I want to visit every time I come to Milan.

Amazing experience. Had to wait about thirty minutes on a Thursday night in November, but it was completely worth it. Every dish was made with care and the service was amazing. It reminded me of when I was young and had a hard time communicating with my great grandmother because we spoke different languages... She took such care to show and recommend and explain. I loved it.

Must visit trattoria if you are in Milan. You have to have their chilli lemon spaghetti… but all dishes and sweets we ordered were equally tasty. You may need to queue outside to get a table but this place worth the wait.

Update: And again in June (2018). Appears I must make a stop at each visit in town. And again a few more pix. Update: Went again in April (2018) and all I said before still holds. Including some new pix.. Perfect little place. Perfect food. Didn't read any reviews before going in so I didn't know how small it is. Probably 7 tables. When I arrived (night) there was a couple ahead of me, and all the tables were full, so I had to wait 15-20 minutes to sit. Doesn't bother me, but if it would bother you, don't start your meal grumpy from the get-go and just go elsewhere. Several other good places within walking distance. Couple of the tables looked like locals, so that's a good sign. I've included the menu on the day I was there so you have an idea of the prices. Cheap, normal or expensive depends on your budget. Personally, I thought the prices fair (given the fineness of the cooking, quality of the ingredients, the size of the place and the decor). I don't speak Italian and who looked to be the owner's wife doesn't speak English but I have Google Translate to figure out words I don't recognize. What I ordered was delicious. Perfect balance. Top quality ingredients with top level (home cooking) flavor and taste. People usually trust me blind with my choices and of course you don't know me, but I highly recommend. Apparently the menu changes daily. Another very good sign.

Food is perfectly simple. But incredibly delicious. We got one each of the ravioli & spaghetti plus the pork cutlet to share. I would easily have gone another round on all of it if I wasn't stuffed full. Best spaghetti I have eaten in my live memory. They are sticklers for the rules. I asked for parmesan to add to my pasta but was told that I can't put parmesan with the peppers and citrus. I love that. Proper Milanese approach to food. Food should be eaten as it was intended. The place is tiny so if you're going for lunch, don't expect a long leisurely lunch. Plan to arrive early or late for the lunch seating.

Piatti semplici ma di qualità. Menu’ dai prezzi esagerati soprattutto se ci vai per un pranzo di lavoro. Locale piccolo, sedute limitate e molto rumoroso. Vince la simpatia della signora in sala.

La vera vecchia Milano, quella dei ricordi da bambino e dei sapori di casa.

The lemon pasta was great, but one of the servers was quite rude to me. He was kind and welcoming to the other folks, so I wonder if it’s because I’m Asian, American, a young girl dining solo or if he just picked me as his target of the day. People have been so kind to me in Milan so this was pretty disappointing.

Great value, simple home made kitchen, typical not polite (neither unpolite, just nort italy style). Place has not been renewed with money but love, simply a place to enjoy without pretension. People come and go real fast, say hello to the owner and husband directly in the kitchen, just like the good old times. Come if u like this do not go if u want some fancy pretty presented dishes.

Location molto suggestiva, cibo ottimo, prezzi carissimi ma che rispettano la zona in cui si trova il locale. Servizio inizialmente amichevole e casalingo, dopo di che pesante, la cameriera insisteva per farci lasciare il locale dopo poco più di un’ora, per far entrare il cliente successivo. L’obiettivo di una cena fuori non è solo riempire le pance in fretta ma condividere bei momenti, per mangiare e basta si può stare a casa, non si fa così!!

Posto senza prenotazione, ci sono solo 8 tavoli, per me ok, hanno detto che dovevamo aspettare fuori, ma hanno fatto entrare prima una coppia che è venuta dopo di noi. Il servizio non è niente di speciale, quando siamo entrati nel piccolissimo locale nessuno ci ha nemmeno guardato. Il cibo non era male, ma siamo usciti con 90€ per due persone, anche se non era un piatto speciale. Non penso che valga la pena aspettare a meno che non ci sia un tavolo libero

Well this was by far a disappointment and all because of the service and prices associated to the dishes. Please nonna if you're going to charge €18 for any home made pasta at least give a decent serving. If this is what you call a first plate for pasta, not exactly the most amazing fosh I've ever had. The service was so rude, clearly, Italians no surprises as if you didn't work within what they like to serve God forbid. Really rude, they want you out quickly and definitely do not have hospitality. Spilled red wine all over my friend and did nothing about it. Wouldn't be coming back here anytime soon for average food.

L’oste al banco, ha dimostrato di non aver compreso fino in fondo il significato autentico della parola “servizio” È una postura culturale prima ancora che operativa. Nel caso specifico, ho riscontrato scortesia ed una gestione della comunicazione poco trasparente. Ancora più grave è stata la sensazione di trovarmi di fronte a una ricostruzione dei fatti non aderente alla realtà. La menzogna non è mai onorevole, in nessun contesto: né personale né professionale. Eppure, quando manca il senso dell’onore, viene meno anche la consapevolezza della gravità del mentire. La signora Maria invece ha ben compreso la gravità dell'accaduto e la ringrazio. Mi auguro che vogliate riflettere su quanto accaduto e intervenire affinché il livello umano e professionale del banco sia all’altezza della storia e della reputazione che il vostro locale porta con sé. In attesa di un vostro riscontro, porgo distinti saluti.

Sono venuto apposta dall’aeroporto per mangiare qui. Ho anche chiamato prima per controllare se il ristorante fosse aperto e per chiedere di prenotare un tavolo per due persone. Mi hanno detto che non accettano prenotazioni ma che c’erano posti disponibili e bastava presentarsi. Quando sono arrivato, dopo solo 15 minuti dalla telefonata, mi hanno detto che era tutto pieno e non mi hanno fatto entrare. Forse il cibo sarà anche buono, ma con una gestione così è stata una grandissima delusione. La Latteria dovrebbe organizzarsi molto meglio. Pessima esperienza.

C’è una chiara discriminazione verso i clienti asiatici: veniamo ammassati in posti angusti e trattati con sgarbo. Hanno persino preteso la mancia. Il cibo è mediocre e il rapporto qualità-prezzo è pessimo.

Di solito non lascio recensioni, ma un posto così non l’avevo mai visto in vita mia. Su Google Maps era indicato come orario di apertura le 19:30, quindi ci siamo organizzati così. In realtà aprono alle 19:00. Una mia amica era già lì, aveva ordinato e stava mangiando, ma appena sono arrivata mi hanno fatto sentire a disagio perché “ero in ritardo”. Eppure non c’era nessuno che aspettava il tavolo fino alla fine della cena. Ho spiegato che c’era scritto così su Google Maps, ma non gliene importava nulla. Durante il pasto hanno provato tre volte a portare via i piatti, mentre stavamo chiaramente ancora mangiando. Alla seconda volta mi sono arrabbiata, ho detto di portarli pure ma ho chiesto perché lo facessero solo con noi. La cameriera se n’è andata senza rispondere. Dopo, mentre bevevamo ancora il vino rimasto, è arrivata un’altra signora che ha provato di nuovo a sparecchiare. Quando mi sono infastidita, ha portato via perfino il pane che stavamo ancora mangiando! Alla fine, quando siamo usciti, nonostante tutto ho salutato per educazione. E la risposta che mi sono sentita urlare, davanti a tutti i clienti, è stata: “fai la brava, eh?!”. Mai sentita una cosa simile in vita mia. Lo spazio è piccolo, quindi tutti hanno sentito. Vivo a Milano da 5 anni, ma mai un’esperienza così negativa. Non vale assolutamente i soldi, la cucina è mediocre, e il modo in cui trattano i locali e i turisti è chiaramente diverso. Non rovinatevi la serata per curiosità. Onestamente, le ricette di pasta al limone che trovate su YouTube sono molto più buone. Il peggior ristorante che abbia mai provato a Milano. Still, when I showed up, they made me feel uncomfortable for being “late.” Even though there wasn’t a single person waiting for a table the whole time we were there. I mentioned the Google Maps hours, but they didn’t care at all. While we were clearly still eating, they tried to clear our table three different times. The second time, I got annoyed and told them to just take it, but asked why they were only rushing us. No answer, just walked away. Later, when we were still drinking the leftover wine, another lady came and tried again to clear the table. When I showed I was upset, she even took away the bread we were still eating! At the end, when we left, I still greeted them out of basic politeness. And what did I get back? Yelled at, in front of everyone in the tiny restaurant: “From now on, behave properly!” Everyone heard it. Unbelievable. I’ve lived in Milan for 5 years, but never had such a horrible experience. The food is absolutely not worth the price, and the way they treat locals vs. foreigners is clearly different. Don’t ruin your evening out of curiosity. Mai più. Serata tranquilla nel cuore di Milano quando attratti dall'insegna decidiamo di entrare in un locale "tipico". Bisogna aspettare mezz'ora perché non prende prenotazione? Non c'è problema. E così dopo mezz'ora entriamo in uno stanzone affollato dove troviamo un tavolino in mezzo a due coppie. E gli aspetti positivi finiscono qui. Novanta euro per un piatto di lardo, un pugno di macinato (non a coltello) e due Paillard (per un totale di 4 fette di carne alla piastra). Assurdo. Piatti banali. Tipico? Forse un tempo. Ora questi posti si chiamano "trappole per turisti". E io ci sono cascato

Non posso che fare altro che sprinter la mia più grande delusione, anzi grandissima ! Il cameriere che sembrava avesse le fiamme nei pantaloni…ogni minuto chiedeva se avevamo terminato e se si di lasciare libero il tavolo!! Ma che diamine siamo alla mensa aziendale dove si susseguono i turni? Ho parlato di mensa aziendale, anche se in alcune mense si mangiava meglio. NON parliamo poi dei prezzi🤷

I was so excited to go here. I had a last day of a 14 day trip in Italy. Milan was our last night I wanted a great meal to end the trip. My husband and I got to the restaurant early to be told no room, no more tables for the night at 8pm. With 7 tables there has to be at least one turn around. Honestly it was because I was American. I was so sad because I was so happy there was no line. I was sure we were going to get a table. The fact that I knew about the restaurant should mean I’m not that uncool. Jeez, so sad
