Great experience! Everything was great, but the highlight was definitely the service. Lucas was attentive, friendly and made sure everything was perfect throughout the meal. You can tell he genuinely cares about the customers. Will definitely be back!
Tutto molto buono. Everything so tasty, staff very gentle and friendly.
John attended to us today, and it was a very good experience. Overall, everything was very tasty, but I didn't get stracciatella cheese in my pasta. Perhaps mozzarella or fior di latte was used instead of stracciatella. Nevertheless, I would still recommend this place, and I plan on returning.
Friday night date night. Sat at the bar, which was cool and inviting. We wanted something light but couldn’t say no to the pasta and risotto. Tried the Toronto cocktail… its strong! Be brave, have one. Tiramisu finished table side was a cool touch too. Great service, friendly staff. I know we’ll be back.
I will give 5 stars as the service was great. The manager Kabir helped me with immense service - solving difficult situations show and demonstrate customer service and care. The food is good, somewhat over priced for what you get but it is an Eataly restaurant so it is expected. The Saffron Risotto was very well prepared - just like in Milan! Deserts were good.
So excited I got to finally try this place. On the second floor of Eataly and tucked away in the corner it could be easy to miss. From start to finish it was perfection. The wine pairing from their sommelier Antonello was amazing. He was so knowledgeable about wine, region and everything was fantastic. Apps: Steak tartare was presented looking a bit like ground beef but it was so delicious. The salami misto came with a candied mustard jelly that was so interesting. Mains: the “elephant ear” was a huge bone in veal steak which was done exactly the way I had in Milan. Perfectly salted, crispy on the outside and tender the middle. A must try! The 40 egg pasta was so delicious and filling. Milanese saffron risotto was also perfect. Dessert: the tiramisu served in a small glass container. It was creamy and had the perfect balance of sweetness and espresso. Will be back again!
Idk how this place has so many bad ratings. The location is a bit tricky to find but staff at Eataly can direct you. I love the vibe - you are away from all the business of Eataly. The food is amazing especially the gnocchi; it was the perfect portion and not heavy at all. The trout salad was also very texturally pleasing with the anchovy breadcrumbs. We finished with the tiramisu which they finish table side. The waitress said she thought it was the best in Toronto and she honestly might be right. Service was super quick and wait staff was attentive. We will definitely be coming back!
Ravioli is the best i ever had. This hidden gem is in a tiny little corner of a supermarket. But once you enter you'd never know. Very nice, clean and upscale Italian food. Great spot to go and have a fancy cocktail as well.
Absolutely amazing! We had a great experience and will definitely be back. Bhavya was fantastic and he made sure our time was perfect. He makes a perfect Negroni too. 5⭐
Great food, friendly and attentive staff but the wait time for the food was a bit long. Definitely worth the wait but would’ve loved to get some complimentary bread or snacks to munch on while we were waiting. I also recommend ordering the pana cotta for dessert!
Recently had a lunch meeting at Trattoria Milano. It wasn't too busy on a Monday at lunch time. Our server was very attentive and came to check on us at the perfect frequency. The food was very good. I had the veal ragu pasta and the tiramisu. My colleagues had the mushroom risotto and the braised short rib. All delicious. A great upmarket lunch destination option around Bay and Bloor.
The space feels like the perfect blend of intimate and spacious. It’s fairly dim inside (mostly taking in natural day lighting from the north-facing windows), and feels like the dining room is tucked away from the hustle of Bay St. just outside. The decor is elegant and refined, but warm and not pretentious. Our server greeted us as soon as we sat at our table and brought some water. I tried the Don Vittorio cocktail. It tasted well balanced, not too sweet, with a nice smokiness from the mezcal. I had the Tagliatelle Con Ragù Di Coniglio for my main. The pasta was cooked al dente. At first, the dish tasted a bit restrained/ bland. The saltiness kind of grew on me as I kept eating. I think it left me a bit hungry still in terms of the portion as well. Overall, my experience here was pretty good and I’d come back myself to try their other dishes and drinks.
First time here we had a late Saturday brunch. Surprisingly they offer a summerlicious lunch menu. The food was delicious and the service was great. The restaurant is hired beside a shop so it is not easy to find it but glad that we did. Will come back to try their dinner for sure.
I’m not sure if they are even using proper pasteurized eggs for this dish. The raw egg smell really mess the taste of the dish.
I love Eataly. This is their most mediocre restaurant. The food was tasty but portions were small and overpriced. Service was slow and not particularly friendly. The other Eataly restaurants are better value and vibes. If you want upscale Italian, youre better off going to one of the restaurants in Yorkville for the same prices. $5 for bread is surprising when your pastas are $30-$40 and mains are $50-$120!
The restaurant is really pretty and the atmosphere is great but the food is lacking considering the price. I got a Zafferano Risotto, the portion was very small which wouldn’t be a problem if it was good but I would call it bland at best. The cheese platter was pretty, but with a serious problem: barely had any cheese. Some of the other people who went there had better luck with the plates they chose but for me it was a disappointment.
We went for the holidays dinner special and it was great! I was worried the portions would be smaller but it was all very filling. They mains and drinks were very tasty! The portion for the carne cruda was amazing, flavour was a bit flat though. They also have me more crackers :).
Been here three times. First time got the fish risotto and while it tasted very good the fish piece was tiny. Second time was a good experience. Third time got a different risotto but it was not cooked enough and the rice was powdery.
Average Italian food at an above average price. Service felt rushed and inattentive. Main course was subpar. Appetizers were more enjoyable. Would not recommend nor return.
Such a disappointment. I arrived with a guest after a 12-month hiatus, with memories of delicious food. The Caesar salad dressing had too much mustard, eliminating any flavour of anchovy; the noodle pasta with veal had no veal pieces nor hint of a sauce. Kudos to the server who was very apologetic and accommodating; he replaced the salad (unfortunately, it came back with the same dressing as the original) and he took back the noodle veal item (no charge for either and comped a dessert), The experience was embarrassing as I had recommended the restaurant to my guest; I should have looked at the reviews.
Very disappointed. The past barely had sauce, when I asked if I could have more, they didn’t have more. The servers were very distracted, every time I want to request something I have to wait for a while as they were talking with each other. They gave me some free dessert to compensate for that. But I would have prefer having my dinner good. Still I appreciate the gesture. There is a lot of things to improve there. I wish them all the best.
Very nice atmosphere, but the dishes are very disappointing. The dishes they choose to solve are very hard to get right , and they get a lot of things wrong. The pasta arrived al dente, but barely warm. The tartar was served as spread minced meat, with no salt, pepper or any condiments.
A beautiful restaurant that needs a lift in every way. Environment: 9/10. Gorgeous restaurant set in the back of the second floor of Eataly. Chairs are comfortable and ambiance is warm and inviting. Was a little difficult to find… had to ask around. Food: 5/10. We tried a bunch of items of the dish… and boy, it wasn’t the most exciting food. Small plates for hefty prices. And, being located in the Yorkville area with a number of Toronto’s best Italian restaurants, unfortunately- Trattoria Milano just doesn’t measure up. If I blindfolded my date, she would’ve thought we were at Scadabush… it was sad. The menu is hard to understand… even the servers thought so. Reaching a little too hard in my opinion. Service: 2/10. Being at one of the most empty restaurants in the city with as much staff as they had, it was the slowest service we’ve had in a long time. Servers were not attentive. We were asked how our first bites were after plates were done. Not to mention, I had to flag a server down because I discovered hair in my pasta. They were gracious and quick to have someone address it - but it still took 20 minutes later to have a new pasta in front of me. I ate by myself after… it was weird. Overall, this place just doesn’t measure up and was disappointing. The Valet parking is only for 2 hours of validation. So, we ended up having to pay for parking because the meal took so long (their service was REALLY slow). Would I ever go back… no.
I liked the antipasto prosciutto with burata; it was fine but the pasta with rabbit ragu and tiramisu were nothing special; seemed slapped together. They should get a proper chef. I was disappointed considering it’s Eataly. The service was unprofessional and amateur. It seemed to me they weren’t trained properly on the basics of serving; one server attempted to hand be a hot plate; I had to tell him to place it on the table. He was perturbed. Our waitress was constantly interrupted us and trying to push us along; very annoying and talkative. I tipped them 15% on top of the tax but they really deserved much much less. I wouldn’t recommend it.
I would give zero stars if that were an option. Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience. The pasta we ordered was extremely bland, and the polenta we ordered never arrived. The server brought us the bill before we asked for it, even though we were planning to order coffee after dinner. When we tried to order drinks, the server was not available and the restaurant wasn’t busy (only three or four tables were occupied). There were just two of us, and the total came to $220, which felt unreasonable given the quality of the food and service. Overall, very disappointing.
The food was very disappointing given the price. We ordered the mushroom pasta(taglietelle), but there wasn’t a single piece of mushroom in the dish. At $40, the portion size was also far too small. I actually had to buy a slice of pizza afterward to feel full. While the service and atmosphere were good, we waited nearly 40 minutes for a plate of pasta that lacked both substance and value.
This was so disappointing and frankly, absolutely terrible. The food was bland and unimaginative. We had the polenta bread (which was basically just bread with some polenta in the holes. Just have the free sourdough - it’s better), the carne cruda (which was basically an unseasoned raw hamburger patty and very boring), the Milanese risotto (bland), funghi pasta with spinach pasta (unattractive and uninspired), and the sea bream (fussily prepared yet bland and underseasoned). Portions were small and did not include sides, which was egregious for the price ($49 for sea bream with no sides?!?). The only person who was happy had the kale salad and meatballs (which was $38 for both). The service was passible but teetered on terrible due to general unhelpfulness and an awkward sense that she knew we were unhappy but did not want to ask why so pretended everything was great. Overall, a very disappointing experience, given how lovely Eataly is. My assumption is that they have some outside vendor doing the restaurants and it shows. Even if you are shopping there, I would suggest going up the road to Trattoria Nervosa or frankly anywhere, given how many good restaurants there are in the neighborhood. Save your cash for something better.
