This was exactly the authentic Italian/Lombardian dining experience we were chasing. Matteo was our waiter and couldn’t have been better; warm, welcoming and happy to translate the menu into English. We started with artichokes, cured meats and bread, all spot on. For mains, I ordered the cotoletta (a house specialty) with roast potatoes and vegetables. Generous, crispy and perfectly cooked. My wife had the pumpkin ravioli which looked incredible. A live band later arrived playing accordion and trombone, lifting the atmosphere and rounding out a truly memorable night.

An absolutely outstanding restaurant with an incredible waiter who looked after us exceptionally well. We handed over control of the menu to this trusted professional, and what followed was a feast to remember. Starters included thinly sliced veal with tuna mousse that was simply out of this world, alongside cooked artichoke and Parma ham served with big, juicy figs. Next came the pasta course, with four of us sharing two plates – one featuring the sweetness of pumpkin, the other cooked in a beautifully reduced veal broth. Both were exceptional. For mains, we enjoyed one of my personal favourites – veal escalope – as well as another veal dish cooked in a rich bone broth. Although we could hardly manage it, three desserts arrived: an excellent tiramisu, some ice cream with aa alcoholic sauce and a third dessert that was quite simply one of the best I’ve ever eaten – though I can’t remember exactly what it was. Suffice to say, you dipped slices of panettone into this indulgent dish and almost licked the pattern off the plate. We paired everything with some excellent Cretan wines – a clean and crisp white, a slightly chilled Pinot Noir, and a fantastic dessert wine. A truly magnificent experience. We will be back!

A great place to experience traditional Milanese food. The osso bucca was especially fantastic. The affagato was an incredible way to end the meal and pick up some energy for after lunch activities. It was the best ever. Good array of well priced local wines too. It is true that some of the staff is not particularly welcoming to those without a reservation or the whit to decode a very simple Italian menu, but I'm not sure that is all bad if it keeps out some of the more obnoxious tourists. Seemed to be mostly Italians when we visited.

If you want to eat traditional style of Milanese cuisine such as Rissoto e Ossobuco, Costoletta Milanese, Trattoria Milanese is one of best choices. All foods are authentic Lombardian style and great. (Polenta is a polenta. I understand why it is. Not recommended) They also have a good wine list (there is a good half bottle wine Brancaia 👍). Service was very good. Server was kind and humorous, so enjoy time for dine. It deserves to have their famous name. Thank you for excellent time.

Cucina milanese tipica, senza rivisitazioni, rustica e buona. Ottima qualità del cibo. L’ossobuco migliore che io abbia mai mangiato, morbidissimo, si tagliava con la forchetta. Vini di ottima qualità. Dolci squisiti, sia il tiramisù che il classico panettone e zabaione. L’unica “pecca” è l’ambiente un po’ rumoroso, essendo contenuto e amichevole. Ne vale assolutamente la pena, ritornerò con piacere

Preso risotto con ossobuco ( è un primo e secondo) buono. Valido il sapore di zafferano, carne che si scioglieva in bocca. Abbiamo preso un vino primitivo " Piluna" prezzo buono vino discreto. Ringrazio il figlio del titolare che pur non avendo prenotato ci ha trovato un posto e sono rimasto molto colpito in positivo. Le recensioni lette in rete ci hanno particolarmente incuriosito e spinto a prenotare... Sabato sera cenare presso questo storico ristorante è stata un'esperienza a dir poco fantastica !!! Vengono proposti tutti i piatti tipici della cucina meneghina e lombarda in genere. Personale attentissimo e molto gentile. Servizio veloce. Rapporto qualità-prezzo molto buono. È vero, i prezzi sono alti ma sono più che giustificati data la posizione del locale e la qualità davvero alta delle materie prime. Estasiante assaporare il tipico risotto alla milanese...sublime, gustosissimo, mantecatura perfetta!! È il piatto che più mi ha conquistato in assoluto!! Tuttavia, avrei preferito una porzione leggermente più abbondante, per questo mi fermo a quattro stelle. Il mio compagno, ha provato il risotto con l'ossobuco...davvero fenomenale! Cotoletta top! Siamo arrivati senza prenotazione durante la settimana e, sebbene il padrone di casa a primo impatto non sia sembrato molto cordiale, il cameriere al nostro tavolo è stato davvero impeccabile: gentile, attento e capace di intrattenere diversi ospiti. Il cibo è stato gustoso e abbondante. Le specialità del giorno proponevano piatti a base di funghi porcini, appena entrati in stagione, cucinati in modo delizioso. Le polpette al sugo erano morbide e saporite, un piatto semplice ma eseguito alla perfezione. Anche il cestino del pane, con grissini e pane fatti in casa, accompagnato da un ottimo olio d’oliva, ha lasciato il segno. Nonostante il locale fosse molto affollato, il servizio è rimasto rapido ed efficiente. La carta dei vini offre una buona varietà e i prezzi sono decisamente ragionevoli. Abbiamo concluso con il dolce: lo zabaglione con panettone, una vera bontà.

So this place I stumbled upon by accident. As a result, I didn't have reservations and when I first went in they told me it's one hour wait to discourage me from waiting. I saw several packs of tourists coming in and some were turned away but others were sat down much sooner than the quoted wait time. I, myself waited about 30 minutes. However they do pack different groups of walk-ins in big tables but I'm still glad they try rather than completely turn you away. The food is decent. I tried the minestrone which is basically a light soup with veggies and pasta. It's slightly salty and blend the same time but I guess that's the point. Their costolleta is quite expensive compared to another costolleta restaurant that specializes in it. The meat is fairly delicious and I think they did a good job. It's however huge but what puzzles me is the color (which is white) and the tendon and texture tells me it's pork but supposedly it should have been veal? I do like pork in general so I have no problem even if it's pork costolleta. It's delicious though. The place is small and packed so you'll feel like you are touching the elbows of the people sitting next to you. The service is functional in that they do what you expect but there is no warmly. Maybe it's a family business and they have no problem with having customer or maybe they just don't like tourists. In any case I just don't feel l had good service. They also took the change directly instead of handing back a change. I was going to leave a slightly bigger tip but since they took the 1 euro then that's fine. I did feel slightly rushed but guess they were busy. Overall it's an alright restaurant and probably better than other tourist restaurants.

Locale storico e tipico mialense, che offre piatti caratteristici della tradizione,dal risotto con l'osso buco alla cotoletta. Personale frenetico non mette a proprio agio il cliente (consiglio: se volete parlare andate al bar perché quasi vi cacciano) Antipasti non segni di nota, siamo infatti passati direttamente alle portate principali, risotto e cotoletta. Risotto con ossobuco buono, carne morbida e scioglievole molto ben cotta. La cotoletta anche ben fatta, forse l'impanatura era poco coesa ma nel complesso buona. Le porzioni erano abbondanti, la cotoletta quasi difficile da finire. In ultimo, è da evidenziare il prezzo caro per le pietanze prese, ma è pursempre Milano.

La trattoria è in pieno centro, in vie piene di gente e dello shopping per noi che eravamo a piedi perfetta. L'ambiente è accogliente, proprietario tutto di un pezzo, camerieri simpatici. Prezzi in linea con Milano e la zona. Abbiamo preso una classica costoletta alla milanese e del pure tutto molto buono. Dolci merita lo zabaione con il panettone, il tiramisu no a mio parere. Unica nota stonata e brutta il proprietario che alle 1010 ti presenta il conto cacciandoti perche ha altra gente da far sedere. Contesto il fatto che in fase di prenotazione va detto affinchè uno possa decidere se confermare la prenotazione o meno.

Cena due persone. Prima cosa bisogna dire che il locale dà l’idea di un vero luogo milanese. È un po’ turistico. Il servizio diciamo sufficiente, non c’è stato quel coinvolgimento nella scelta e descrizione delle portate (bisogna fare veloci per poi liberare il tavolo). Ho preso là cotoletta, molto grande ma non era cotta uniformemente perché in alcune parti era quasi cruda. I prezzi molto alti per la qualità.

Locale storico, camerieri molto carini. Titolare poco amichevole, più concentrato a riempire il locale che a rendere l’ambiente accogliete. Cibo non all’altezza di altre trattorie storiche, riso con l’ossobuco già pronto e preparato in grandi quantità per servire velocemente. Zabaione strano, sembrava cotto in microonde, sopra era acquoso e all’interno cotto caldissimo con una consistenza tipo cream caramel, non setoso e morbido. Peccato…

Qualità del Cibo, ambiente., qualità ed attenzione del servizio sono sempre al Top. I prezzi però sono diventati decisamente esagerati anche per Milano. Una cotoletta, una giardiniera (mini) e una cicorietta (normale-mini) , 2 bicchieri di vino ed acqua 73€ sono decisamente troppi. Visto che sono sempre pieni probabilmente hanno ragione loro … anche se il locale è sempre più frequentato da turisti stranieri e sempre meno da italiani. Se si vuole mangiare tipico a Milano ci sono trattorie molto carine con prezzi molto più ragionevoli. Un ultimo consiglio: con certi “conti” la ricevuta fiscale si fa di default, e non deve essere richiesta . Il precnto può abbindolare un turista straniero, ma con chi conosce le regole in Italia, non si fa una gran figura .

Esperienza positiva soltanto per il risotto con l’ossobuco. Accoglienza dei clienti pessima (posso comprendere la confusione del sabato sera, ma questo non giustifica un comportamento a dir poco scortese nei confronti di clienti che arrivano al locale), impressione purtroppo confermata a fine serata, quando poco prima delle 23.30, con la sala ancora semi piena, hanno pensato bene di abbassare le saracinesche facendoci capire che dovevamo lasciare il locale. Sarebbe stato sufficiente dire che dovevano chiudere.

Non molto friendly per gli amici pelosetti, mi hanno detto di tenerlo verso il muro e soprattutto non mi hanno dato la ciotola per farlo bere ma dovevo portarlo fuori a bere perché altrimenti si bagnava il pavimento! Ho pranzato questa mattina al ristorante. Non avevo una prenotazione ma in venti minuti mi hanno fatta accomodare. I camerieri sono stati gentili ed essendo sola ho ordinato una cotoletta e mi è stato proposto l’ assaggio del famoso risotto alla milanese, servito su un piattino , che poi mi è stato addebitato per nove euro. Sconsiglio vivamente di andarci di sabato a cena. Gestione pessima e personale per nulla accogliente. Risotto alla milanese nella media, cotoletta troppo cotta e insapore, tiramisú buono ma poteva essere presentato meglio. Se non fosse per il nome e la vicinanza al centro, non ci sarei mai andata; non lo consiglierei.

We were very disappointed with our experience. We waited more than one hour while others were served before us. The bill was higher than the menu prices and the staff was not polite. Definitely not the hospitality expected from a historic Milan restaurant. There were some Egyptian staff members who were very respectful, but two others — an older man and a young one from the same nationality — were extremely rude and discriminatory.
