Opinions de Old Camp Bar & Grill Mission Viejo
This restaurant Old Camp bar & Grill is in the Ayres hotel on the first floor. (They have two properties across from each other)The atmosphere was fun and vibrant with 80's music in the background. The food was delicious...a perfectly made hamburger with a spring lettuce salad. The dessert was a decadent house made Tiramasu. And the host/bartender and server Mikaela was very kind and attentative. I will for sure come again. Enjoy your food if you visit.
i was p surprised by how good the food was here. we got the ahi poke, the old camp burger, BLT, and mac & cheese. ahi poke and mac & cheese were good but the burger and BLT were so delicious ! the burger was like a gourmet big mac, sounds a little funny but it was so worth it and i absolutely loved the parmesan crusted bread on the BLT.
While the menu is limited at the old camp bar and grill, the quality is good. Example, they are cutting their own bacon for their sandwich needs. I went with the BLT and was not disappointed. Generous helping of hand cut bacon 🥓 and the most unique cheese crusting if the bread I've had anywhere. Not your run of the mill BLT. Very good, will be back to explore more options on my next visit to Ayres. Did I say bacon, good bacon..
Delicious burger, home fries & homemade ketchup. Also had great signature cocktails.

We were staying at the attached Ayres and decided to have dinner close to our room...can't be any closer since it's on the 1st floor of the hotel! Ordered two burgers to our liking and it arrived quickly at our table by the kind and attentive waitress. Was worried mine would be raw, but not! It was perfectly cooked. Seems like a great place .
Food was top notch! Everything I had was exceptional and the ingredients were FRESH!!! My waitress Makayla was AMAZING, KNOWLEDGABLE AND KIND...I will recommend to friends colleagues and fam! Music...umm NO 80's decor
Not your typical hotel restaurant. This is a hidden gem perfect for any evening of the week as they open at 4pm. The bar selection seemed to have something for everyone! Beer was cold and a nice selection of craft beers. Ordered the "Old Camp" Burger very tasty and a well assembled burger! House made chips and ketchup you can’t go wrong! Make sure you add cheese & the bacon! Service was amazing!! Makayla was very polite and attentive to my visit. I will for sure be back and try some other menu items! Keep up the amazing work!
Just ate dinner at Old Camp...DEE LISH US!! Pastrami sandy was outstanding! Sweet pickles, yummy! Chicken sandy was perfect. LOVE the hand cut fries and house ketchup! Tiramisu LOVED IT! AND the Camp Margarita was pretty damn good!!(I could have drank a pitcher!) Show these folks some love and order some to-go.
LOVE! My husband got the chicken strips, they were so well seasoned and crispy, just delicious! My chicken sandwich was so good and the fries!!!! Wow! I was a little surprised and all the good flavors and the good quality food. Must have!
My wife and I had a few specialty cocktails and some tacos on Taco Tuesday this week. Makayla was a rock star! Not only was she the only person working the entire restaurant and bar, she single handedly greeted everyone, took each tables food and drink orders, and then prepared each and every specialty cocktail perfectly!! She deserves all the praise and hopefully a raise as well!! She earned this rating alone and we cannot say thank you enough for the wonderful experience! And it was our very first time as well! Thanks Makayla! You rock!!!!!!!!!!!!
Makayla M. Which took my order / server is very professional handled food items that i ordered kept warm bagged and napkins plastic silverware most people do forget to put in the to :)order to go bag. #1 far most importantly that I see is the guests / her customers always come back to the grill . kindness and respect. Makayla Thank you!!! 😊 Yanina Schwartz
Great bar food! Good service. Nice to eat at the bar and chat with the cook and bartender if you're down here for a business trip and staying at the Ayres. Had the chicken taco special and Sonora Salad. Very tasty. All the best to these guys.

5 Stars – A Hidden Gem! The Old Camp Bar & Grill is an absolute must-visit! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed—definitely a cool spot to hang out with friends or just unwind after a long day. I ordered the pastrami sandwich, and it was phenomenal. Perfectly seasoned, piled high, and full of flavor—it’s easily one of the best I’ve ever had. The real surprise, though, was the fries. They’re not your average side—they’re unique, crispy, and incredibly tasty. A total game changer! The staff was friendly, the vibe was laid-back, and the food was top-notch. Whether you’re just grabbing a bite or hanging out for a while, Old Camp is the place to be. I’ll definitely be back!
Very limited menu. We ended up just ordering a drink and an appetizer and went elsewhere for actual dinner. We orders the ahi appetizer. It took forever to be served & we were the only ones in there. However it was really good. I would recommend it.
Burger was good. Wasn’t huge but was good. Fries were homemade and really good with the homemade catsup. The best part of all was the Creme Brûlée.

Was a guest at this hotel. 5 of us stopped at the bar and order drinks, fries and one was eating. At the end my friend asked for a glass of water to go. She was told no!!!!!! The server said “i’m sorry we don’t do that?” wait what? excuse me, you don’t serve water?!!!! No maam, we don’t give cups to go (granted she just gave my other friend a plastic cup to go for her alcohol). She said, if we do that everyone is going to ask for water. I said we’re not everyone we’re paying customers and oh by the way you should have offered us water while we’re drinking alcohol. So she asks for water to drink there, THEN asks if she can take the rest and the server still says No. insane behavior. who doesn’t give a paying customer a cup of water? We’re not kids running in from the lobby. I $0’d my tip from $12.94 to $10.94 and she still gave herself my tip. I will be reporting this as fraud. Do better! Have common sense! it’s water and a plastic cup!
I’ve eaten at alot of hotel restaurants and never expect much from them but this one is worse than average. Also not a fan of any person at the bar being able to sneeze all over the food prep area. I was there the night of Saturday May 3rd, definitely old camp and definitely not breakfast, search your records harder.
Really disappointed. I don’t know how people gave 5 stars. Burger and Pastrami both too salty. I couldn’t finish it because of the amount of salt in it. My mouth was burning of salt. I am so sorry that the only restaurant in this hotel has a low quality food. Paying $50 for 2 sandwiches you really expect to get something at least edible. So disappointed :(
Would be nice if you could actually dial and connect from the hotel phone. When trying to call directly mobile phone either it rings with no answer or you get a busy signal. Can't say what the food is like, can't even place an order.
I ordered pastrami sandwich which was filled with fat. It was drenched in oil even with the sides on the side. The fries were burnt slivers of potatoes. I had a few bites and got so nauseous, I was sick to my stomach.
