Today we tried Nick The Greek for the first time and I’m so glad we did! We ordered the Beef/Lamb Gyro Pita and the Chicken Gyro Pita and both were so delicious and full of flavors! The pita bread was fresh and so tasty! The fries were nicely seasoned and the kid plate with the chicken looked yummy! Everything smelled amazing! Highly recommend this place!
Nick the Greek is now my favorite place to eat! Service is great. Food fresh and delicious. Love that it’s a healthier fast food option. I am addicted.
Good food, fast. Liked how easy it was to order on the tablet up front.
Visiting from the Carolinas. This is the best Mediterranean food we have had and the service is amazing. Highly recommend.
Clean, friendly, fast and delicious every time. We stop here every time we are traveling on the 99. Highly recommended the nick fries with lamb/beef gyro.
Very tasty! My wife and I shared the Gyro Plater. There was more than enough to share! Service and staff was friendly and fast. This was a nice break from a burger.
Love this place. Great food. Friendly staff. Been here a few times now and will keep coming back!
I come all the time. Always delicious. My favs are the baklava from with honey and the Mediterranean bowl. Everything is great!!
Amazing food and great atmosphere. Will definitely come back. Tell all your friends!!
I love this Nick the Greek location! The service is amazing, the food is not only fresh, but it is also always delicious. I love the falafel gyro and also the steak bowl.
Delicious food! A very approachable introduction to Greek food with great service and a very well kept interior.
My mom and I visited the Modesto restaurant and we were very pleased and blown away by the food and service. Kind employees, fast service and on top of that very clean bathrooms. Will definitely come back again!
Kept it simple and classic and got the beef/lamb gyro. An absolutely impressive amount of meat for the price, the only thing this gyro lacked was one more; I wish I had the stomach space to try another gyro because just one of these bad boys will keep you going for a low price of $12, it sounds daunting but you get so much meat piled onto the gyro, it's worth every penny you pay. It's not greasy like a cheeseburger so it doesn't leave you feeling slow and groggy after eating. Amazing place, can't wait to come back and try more gyros.
So happy having this location right by our house. Food is always tasty and consistent, and service is always great. Love that it's a healthier alternative than most of the other food we have in the area, especially for quick service food. We love the gyro bowels and Mediterranean bowls and they are more than enough food for 2 of us to share.
Tried Nick the Greek for the first time and loved it. The gyro was super flavorful and the garlic fries were amazing. Service was quick and friendly, and everything tasted fresh. Definitely coming back!
They accidentally gave me the wrong item. I called and the manager was very apologetic and handled the situation with absolute class. They made me a fresh gyro pita, let me keep the incorrect item, and even threw in a complimentary ice cream. That's how you treat customers! Shout out the manager of the shift tonight. That's the kind of thing to keep em coming back! Food was fantastic
This place is super yummy and always fresh tasting. The atmosphere is clean and comfortable. I go here for lunch often, my fav Greek spot in Modesto!
Amazing service and incredible food! First time here and I was very impressed. Fresh and delicious. Will definitely be back
The food was amazing so many flavors and excitement with every bit 10/10 For my first time trying greek food this is the spot to go
Had the gyro bowl on the recommendation of the clerk. I was not disappointed. It was delicious. Choose chicken for the protein. Will come again.
Amazing food we got the lamb gryo pita it was amazing, also the Greek fries both were made as soon as we sat down to wait. Overall the food as just as good as the service, the guy was very kind and give me and my girlfriend flyers to give out to friends. First time going and for sure not the last time.
First time at Nick the Greek and I absolutely loved it. The food was very tasty and felt fresh. The service was also good and they had good music. Will be back again!
I’ve tried Nick the Greek before at a different location and didn’t think much about it. Now years later this one opens up by me so we tried it again. The food was so good. You can tell their ingredients are super fresh and prepared with care. The chicken gyro was soft and packed with meat, toppings, and flavor. Their fries were 10/10 very crispy. And I definitely recommend their hummus. Service was really good, restaurant was kept clean, and the overall atmosphere was chill.
Wow, if you're looking for a truly outstanding Greek food experience in Modesto, you absolutely have to check out Nick the Greek! This place is an absolute gem and deserves all the praise. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the positive energy. The staff is so friendly and welcoming, and you can tell they take real pride in serving up delicious, authentic food. The whole vibe is just fantastic—it's fast-casual done right, with a focus on quality and flavor that you can taste in every single bite. Let's talk about the food, because that's where Nick the Greek really shines. The gyros are out of this world! The meat is seasoned perfectly, cooked on that traditional vertical rotisserie, and served in a warm pita that's a work of art in itself. And don't even get me started on the Gyro Bowl—it's a flavor explosion in a bowl, perfect for a hearty and satisfying meal. The ingredients are always so fresh, from the crisp vegetables to the zesty sauces. I highly recommend adding some hummus and olives to your order; they are truly delicious. They don't just stop at amazing gyros and bowls, either. The menu is full of incredible options. The Souvlaki skewers are charbroiled to perfection, and their Greek fries are a must-try. Plus, you have to save room for dessert! The Baklava is a flaky, sweet, and nutty dream, and their Greek frozen yogurt is the perfect way to finish off a perfect meal. The portions are generous, so you definitely get your money's worth, and the service is incredibly fast. Whether you're dining in or ordering for delivery, the quality is consistently top-notch. Honestly, Nick the Greek is more than just a restaurant; it's a culinary experience that will leave you smiling and planning your next visit before you've even finished your meal. It's a new favorite in Modesto, and I couldn't recommend it more highly!

Beef/Lamb Gyro with side Greek salad Came in as a first timer with no expectations, Everything was delicious and I will be trying this again >>JERRY gave excellent service Knowledgeable, friendly. Greeted promptly and didn't mind my questions
I’ve been in Modesto for a few months on business, and had the pleasure of seeing this place open. My first visit I had the gyro plate, with fries and salad, and it was absolutely delicious. I didn’t even take a picture. Today on my 5th visit I had the Mediterranean Steak Bowl (for the 2nd time) and here it is. Every single ingredient is fresh and delicious. If this was a “sit-down” restaurant Nick could charge double. But please don’t. This recipe is perfect. Cheers
I love coming here it's a small place, but very clean and friendly i like taking business executives here for a quick bite to eat near one of the stores we visit.

Nick the Greek is one of my favorite spots for fresh, flavorful Mediterranean food. The ingredients always taste fresh, the portions are generous, and everything is well seasoned. The gyros are delicious, the meats are tender, and the sides like the fries and pita are always on point. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the service is quick, whether dining in or taking out. Overall, it’s a great place for a satisfying and consistent meal. Highly recommend!
We had the Gyro bowl with chicken and the Mediterranean bowl. Service was quick and very helpful and pleasant. Both bowls were generously sized and delicious. The chicken in the Gyro bowl was tender, juicy and tasty. Bowls contained a variety of fresh veggies, garbanzo beans and dip. Quality of food was excellent.
Amazing flavors and amazing service. First time and didnt know what to do. They lady set us up with the tastiest item. Can't wait to try more menu items again. So much flavor!!!!

On our journey back home, we stopped by Nick the Greek in Modesto for lunch. This recently opened spot offers a delightful Mediterranean experience. My son, a shawarma enthusiast, was thrilled with his meal, and the rest of us thoroughly enjoyed the fresh and flavorful dishes. The staff was friendly and efficient, ensuring we had a pleasant dining experience. The prices were reasonable, making it a great value for the quality of food served. If we find ourselves on this route again, Nick the Greek will definitely be on our list for a return visit.
I was lucky enough to have been the only customer there, but it was off peak dining time. I ordered the beef & lamb gyro wrap and the medium fries, and soda. When paying, I was prompted to provide a tip. I gave a 15%, as it caught me off-guard. The restaurant had a "fast food" type of environment. Wasn't expecting to tip. I noticed a tip cup next to the register as well. Anyhow, when my order was ready he called my number and I went to the counter to pick up my food. Now, even more baffled that I left a tip. The Gyro was excellent, the fries were pretty good, and the soda was OK. The place was clean. If I get another craving for a Gyro wrap, I will definitely make it back there.
Wow there was no one in the store yet the attitude received was so uncalled for, what is with service these days? I said hello no response, I said thank you and she just turned & walked away. The service and definitely portions are much better in Riverbank. I’ll spare myself the Rude attitude and take my business elsewhere.
Stopped in looking for something different. We found it at Nick the Greek. Lady at the register was nice and answered all our questions. We tried the beef and lamb gyro plate. The steak protein bowl. Nicks fries and the froyo with baklava and honey. I drank the mandarin cardamom and dragon fruit strawberry drinks they had and both were refreshing and delicious. All plates were hot n fresh. Steak was tender. Rice that is served in all plates we ordered was very tasty. Veggies were crisp. Over all yummy food with lots of flavor. The fries I ordered came hot and fresh with chicken, a spicy sauce and green onions. Although very tasty and would order them again the chicken was overcooked and did not add to the flavor of the plate. I would definitely try fries again but with a different protein. I enjoyed the froyo it was a nice combination. We had stopped in at 8pm and in the time we sat n ate the place filled up and plenty of people came to pick up orders. Clean popular place I wish my family had brought me sooner.

Love the food, it's honestly great! I even catered them for my birthday. But they are currently worst than McDonald's broken soft serve. Anytime I want to swing by to purchase a froyo, I am met with the "machine doesnt work".

Pseudo Greek food. Anyone who’s ever eaten proper souvlaki can recognize a bland Americanized knockoff. Pita bread was damp, moist and all the sauces seeped through. Tzatziki was bland with hardly a hint of garlic and zero dill. Pork was tough and barely seasoned if at all- no red or black pepper, no oregano, no lemon juice on top. Might as well go to the carniceria next door for fresh and *seasoned* meats, burritos, etc. One positive thing is that their vegetarian plates (falafel, beans, etc) were well made and consistent. Service was also good.
I'm not usually one to do bad reviews but the way this place in particular cuts their meat genuinely grossed me out. Finding cartilage and big pieces of fat throughout my chicken (and beef) gyros disgusted me. I decided to give this place a second chance after a previous incident of weirdly cut meat, and was disappointed again. Even after eating, I feel nauseous.

I ordered Chicken Souvlaki Pita Tomatoes, Onions, Lettuce, Mustard Sauce & Fries - it was the worst meal I've had in the last year. I can't even call it anything close to what a real Greek pita should be. The fries were dry and cold, and it felt like they had been cooked and left in the refrigerator for at least a few days. The meat was bland, the sauce was regular sour mayonnaise with a strong vinegar smell, the tomatoes were not fresh, and some were even sour. It was disgusting. I tried to find something tasty in it, but in the end, I just threw it away.
We visited Nick the Greek for a Mother’s Day dinner, returning to this location for the second time after a great first experience. One of the highlights of that visit was the red harissa sauce—it was so memorable that we made a point to come back, even bringing out-of-state family with us, specifically looking forward to that same spicy kick. When placing our order with the owner, we asked about the harissa and made it clear it was a big reason for our return. He acknowledged it and assured us he’d provide it with no extra charge. Unfortunately, by the time our food arrived, the owner had left—and somehow, the staff had no idea what we were talking about. One employee who was standing next to the owner during our order clearly would have overheard the conversation, but still claimed ignorance. When we explained the situation, we were met with a shrug and, “Didn’t you hear us say bye to the owner? He just left.” That response felt careless and dismissive, especially given how specific and important our request was. As we started eating, we found the pita wraps dry without any sauces, and the only condiments available were sriracha and tapatío—neither of which are remotely Greek or what we asked for. We asked again about the harissa, only to be told this time that they did have it, but couldn’t give us much because they were saving it for other meals. The restaurant was empty and closing in an hour, so this excuse made no sense. Worse still, they wanted to charge us $3 for a tiny portion—even though it was complimentary during our last visit, and the owner had promised it this time as well. We spent nearly $100 for our group of six, and while the food itself was okay, the overall experience left us frustrated, disappointed, and really wasn’t worth our time or money. This was supposed to be a special meal, and instead it felt like we were being dismissed and misled over a simple and reasonable request. The lack of communication, accountability, and basic hospitality really soured the night. It’s unfortunate, because we genuinely enjoyed our first visit—but after this experience, won’t be returning. It’s not because of a $3 harissa sauce, but just the fact that they think it’s okay to lie at their convenience ** Have reached out to their customer service, but no one cares enough to reply and its been over a week... just as expected**
The first day we tried Nick the Greek, the food was really good—super busy as always, but worth it. The following day we went back for lunch and the owner was there. The service, environment, and food were all top-tier. Honestly, it was the best experience I’ve had at Nick the Greek, and you could tell the owner being present made a big difference. A few days later, after my entire sales team and I had been off work, we were all craving it again. We ordered our usual chicken and steak gyros with Nick fries. Unfortunately, the owner wasn’t there this time, the place was dead, and the experience was completely different. The gyros were drowned in sauce, and the Nick fries were ruined—nothing like how they tasted before. It was disappointing to see such a big drop in quality when the owner wasn’t around to keep things in check. Sadly, this was one of the worst experiences I’ve had here and might be the last time I come back unless consistency improves.
