Opinions de La Pausa Monreal del Campo
They're fantastic! I went on the night service, when the bus stopped for a break. They work very efficiently and quickly, which also helps bus drivers arrive on time and take their breaks. Plus, the staff is incredibly friendly. The facilities are clean and have everything you need for a pleasant stop. The station is very spacious. The restrooms are as clean as can be expected in a place that's used so frequently. Finally, I loved the music system.
Whenever I stop here... I can't leave without a good breakfast... Excellent coffee.
Quality burgers like these are not highly recommended...
Perfect place for one stop relax and get fresh to continue the trip
Variety of food and excellent service!
Everything is fine
The girl at the gas station and the cashier at the cafe are truly delightful. They're genuinely kind and you can tell they love their jobs and providing warm service to customers. It's greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Very good fresh food and very good service, the girls are very friendly.
Good food, good service from the cook.
When I'm in the area, I know exactly where to go: this place is my go-to spot every time I return from the north. It's not a Michelin-starred restaurant, nor does it pretend to be, and perhaps that's part of its charm. The food is honest, home-style, the kind that comforts you and makes you feel right at home. The set menu, at €14.95, includes a drink, coffee, and dessert, and is more than reasonable considering the quality of the dishes. Familiar flavors, well-prepared, and that friendly service that makes you want to come back without hesitation. Ideal for those who appreciate good food without pretension and at reasonable prices. Here you eat well, you feel comfortable, and these days, that's saying something.
You Spanish have it so nice! A rest stop with tables you can use for your own food you brought in the air conditioning. Definitely not common where I'm from in the USA. Free restrooms too. We had brought everything we needed but bought a water just to support them to keep places like this running. I didn't eat at the cafe or restaurant.
Good area with ample parking, a delicious buffet, and friendly service, next to a Repsol gas station.
Wonderful 😊 and the hostel too.
We like to stop in this area whenever we're going to or coming from the beach. We usually eat there, and the best thing about it is the staff's service. It's a popular stop for tourist buses, so it can sometimes get quite crowded.
To make a stop on a trip.
My family and I have always come here and always have good service, clean bathrooms, we have always liked it, I hope they continue because it is the only place with bathrooms and etc. Let's go because we always go to our hometown, Pamplona. Thank you for your attention.
If you're coming back or going toward Teruel, it's the closest to the highway. I can only speak highly of the sandwiches we had. They were good and reasonably priced. Normally, these gas stations are super expensive. The food looked homemade and appetizing.
Although I stopped for a bite outside, I'm providing information and photos of the area. There's almost no shade outside, so you're forced to go inside when it's hot. It has three fairly spacious dining areas. They also have a section with tables for snacking. You can buy sandwiches, snacks, and even order the daily set menu. They have a pharmacy, a bookstore, and a souvenir/gift shop. It's a fairly complete area. I've included prices for set menus and other food. The restrooms are quite large, and although they're starting to look a bit dated, they're still interesting.
I can't comment on the food because I didn't consume any products, but it has a wide selection, typical of this type of service area with a gas station, currently under the REPSOL brand. The interior is spacious, bright, and comfortable. What I can appreciate is the spaciousness of its parking lot and the fact that it even has a car wash for large vehicles (trucks, buses, etc.). The restrooms were very well maintained and included showers. Being a service area, it also offers accommodation for travelers. A good place to stop if you need to rest and recharge.
Good for breakfast. Variety of pastries.
Friendly serving staff, decent, reasonably priced coffee (which came in a proper cup) and they appear not to mind you eating your own food at their tables (everyone seemed to be doing it when we visited). We were initially puzzled by the huge number of toilet cubicles in this quiet off-the-auto-via service station - until two coaches emptied their contents onto the forecourt - and in a blink, every "seat" was taken!
Good breakfast 😊 pretty big stop
It's a good place to take a break but the price is too high and they take a long time to serve you.
Everything was great. Very good service. And the food too.
It is very accessible from the highway and easy to park.
Because it's raining!!!!!
A must-stop in Monreal del Campo when traveling along the Autovía de Mudéjar. In the middle of nowhere, this service station is a welcome breath of fresh air after hours of driving. Here you'll find a gas pump, a buffet restaurant, and a cafeteria selling typical regional items. It has restrooms and a terrace where you can spend some time relaxing and resting your legs before continuing your journey. Be careful! The prices (understandably) are high.
The bathrooms are very good, the service is quite good.
Excellent facilities, both for eating what you bring and what they serve. The only downside is the high prices on some items. They could have offered discounts to regular customers, but some prices are exorbitant. Good catering service for a weekday menu for 14.99, I think I remember. But you can also order individual dishes. Pleasant.
The food was delicious and the menu was reasonably priced.
Average without much class
Good service area, clean, and good quality price
Place of passage, we slept here, had breakfast and left.
Quiet, large, peaceful parking lot. There is everything a driver needs. Could only be better lit.
Service area with a restaurant and gas station next door. There are individual dishes or set meals that include a starter, main course, dessert, and a drink. We ordered two set meals; they should specify that most items carry an extra charge (not specified on the sign), such as a bottle of Coca-Cola, salads, and some meats. I ordered an additional coffee for one euro more; it was a third of a cup, which was too small for me. There's a terrace and an indoor seating area. Not bad if you're just passing through.
The worst thing is that as soon as you get out of the car, it smells really bad, and it even smells inside… but other than that… The menu isn't bad and it's delicious. The girl who served us was super friendly and explained everything very well. The worst thing is that the beer is super hot (due to the type of cooler they use), and it's a shame that on top of the extra charge for bottles, it's hot. The men's restrooms were being renovated, so both men and women had to go in the same restroom (which might bother some people… I really don't mind). There are vending machines, some snacks, a slot machine, foosball, etc., etc.
I stopped twice on my way there and back, and they were two different experiences. The first time was around 11 a.m. We had breakfast, and there was a wide variety of food to choose from. It was quite expensive, to be honest, average for gas stations. On the way back, around 3 a.m., the station was packed with all the Bilman buses that seemed to be meeting up. There weren't a single table free, and only coffee, juice, and some pastries were available. €6 for a juice and a small sugar palmier seems excessive, especially when I'm going to eat it standing up, since I couldn't sit anywhere. There were plenty of bathrooms, but I think that's why they were all in terrible condition.
We stopped to eat on the way to Teruel and it is the typical roadside restaurant. We took three festive menus and the truth is that for the place it is they take advantage because they charge almost 19 euros for the menu and it is self-service and they don't even bring it to the table. First, second dessert and drinks. However, the portions are generous, you won't leave hungry. The food is homemade, delicious but nothing more. The place inside is a little dark and lifeless.
Two cappuccinos in one week. The "handsome" one is from August 24th, and the "stop bothering me" one is from August 31st. They also almost threw the palm tree at my head when I asked to warm it up a bit. And no, they weren't very busy at that time. What's happened in one week? Service worthy of the worst customs of the Soviet Union. Kind regards to the ladies on the 8/24/25 shift.
Good place to stop and eat something (if you bring it yourself...) the prices are exorbitant.
Good prices, good service. It has a large parking lot, which I was pleased with. The bathrooms are always clean. The facilities have easy access.
The service was slow for the few people at the food bar, little variety at a high price
A place to stop and have a drink, nothing more.
Just have a beer. The atmosphere is good and the food seems good too. The restrooms are decent and there's plenty of parking.
Decent but expensive food. Clean restrooms. A place to stop for a quick coffee.
Quick stop for some food! Big place with lots to choose from. However, no culinary highlight and very messy. Dirty toilets
Ok 👌
Very high prices.
Very expensive for a service area.
Coffee with milk 2.20 euros. Showers cost 3 euros.
There are tables inside for picnics. You have to be on the lookout for buses to leave. There's no PA system or information board, so many buses stop there.
We stop by every time we travel to the coast. The food is decent, though pricey. But the service from the waiters could be better. There are bad days and bad days every day, but not all customers are the same. They could be more pleasant and efficient. :)
Whenever I travel along this road I stop here, the parking is very large since many buses stop, my dog has space to do his things and run a bit, the food is not bad, a little expensive, but that's what you get in the service areas, I only give it 3 stars because they don't allow dogs in and when it's very hot you have to stay outside and there is almost no shade, they should adapt a place with shade so that those of us who, like me, travel with animals, have a place to stay.
Expensive like the rest of this type of areas.
Located next to the A23 highway between Teruel and Zaragoza with good services.
Neither good nor bad, just another roadside inn that doesn't stand out in any way! The food isn't bad, but the prices are quite high!
The overall service was pretty awful. If you have to stop, stop, because there's not much else to do since it's in the middle of nowhere. The place itself is quite nice; it's cool and spacious. The food was pretty bad. We had some coffees, two slices of Spanish omelet (tortilla) the size of shoes, and one of them was laughable. I've attached a photo. I never complain out of politeness, but I did go up to them and say €4 for that, and they just said yes, that's what they had, and I left. Honestly, that really infuriated me. And the veggie sandwich is not recommended at all—dry, with no flavor or juiciness. It's clear they can't even afford some pathetic, cheap sauces. All in all, €20 for fourth-rate food—a rip-off.
Parking is quite good. The place is very spacious. Quite clean. The restrooms are good. Prices are outrageous. It's not a place for truckers to stop. One coffee costs €2.20, which is about the same as two liters of milk. And on top of that, they wanted to give me a cardboard cup—shameful. Then we complain.
Very expensive for what it offers, but the prices are displayed... No discount for bus drivers. Edited after the owner's response: The prices are nowhere near those of other similar places not far from this one. I'm a professional driver and I know what I'm talking about. As for the loyalty card, NO thanks. I don't think I'll be stopping there again, neither I nor my 60 passengers. Thank you very much for your reply. Best regards.
We stopped, assuming it would be a quiet place to take a break. The prices were super expensive for three sandwiches and two tortilla skewers, €33.25. The service could be better, as the children were hesitant to order, and the lady was already yelling at us to see if we wanted anything else, even though there wasn't even a fuss. Anyway, I'd like to go to the bathroom.
A 75cl bottle of water for €2.95 describes my entire comment... What 2 liters of gasoline would cost you... Almost nothing... That said, the coffee was spectacular... And the bathrooms were clean and very cold (I don't know why, are they refrigerated?
The menu was awful, the macaroni was overcooked, you ask for ketchup and they charge you 15 cents when it's free in every other restaurant, and the cashier's service left much to be desired. I don't recommend it for eating, at least not the set menu. Everything else was fine, the bathrooms were clean and the other employees provide better service.
Very expensive service for the quality offered. High-priced processed pastries. Coffee in plastic cups at a premium. Coffee grounds. No napkins. The restroom smells pretty bad. Not recommended.
The weak coffee can't save it, they charge me for a takeaway container, the cold tortilla skewer with nothing else...and at a special price....
Very expensive breakfast, coffee with milk and toast €4.15
A spacious and clean-looking place. But I agree with many of the reviews. High prices. A coffee is €1.35!! And the plastic spoon. Thanks to this place, I'm going to ask the price elsewhere first.
Unless it's a modern design, I don't understand why they've had the microwave sitting unused in the entryway for about four years without replacing it or touching it. If it doesn't work, or can't be used, wouldn't the most obvious thing to do be to remove the microwave from the entryway?
Good parking, well located and spacious. However, if you want shade, there are only a few spaces. The waitress's behavior is a shame. When I asked her for cold milk in my coffee, she didn't even answer. I repeated the question, and she said (I heard you the first time) in a dismissive tone. The coffee tasted like water, and even had grounds in it. The price for a coffee and a pastry, €5, was a bit steep. The bathrooms were poorly cleaned, although there are plenty of restrooms. In my opinion, the service was a bit poor.
Very expensive
Extremely expensive and the service is terrible. The only good thing is the parking.
Outside meals are welcome. It's Bilman's requirement to go there, but La Pausa is always expensive and bad. They've fixed the bathrooms, a plus.
Quite expensive
A little expensive, good deal
This is my second time here, and the prices of the products on sale are still not displayed, and when you ask, it feels like you're intruding. In Europe, I thought prices were supposed to be displayed.
It's fine, with showers and everything, but for me as a truck driver it's very expensive.
The service leaves much to be desired; the food tastes like something from a school cafeteria and is overpriced. The bathrooms are dirty, and most tables are sticky and left uncleaned for a long time. The detour isn't worth it.
Super expensive! The waitresses are inexperienced and make you pay extra for everything. The toast is minimal, with a small spoonful of tomato and half a slice of ham! They say it's the norm for them, and don't even think about ordering more because they'll add an extra... Amazing! €4 for a small glass of juice, they're going too far! The most expensive place with the worst service in the area. Skip it.
Es broma? Un bocadillo de jamon sale 11,50€? Lo mas barato 7,65€? Un trozo de tortilla 6€? Nunca mas.
After paying €18.95 for the set menu, at 2:30 pm, they wouldn't let me sit in the dining room. They sent me to the bathroom hallway where they had set up some tables, creating a draft with the door, and there was a bad smell from the bathrooms and people were constantly walking by. I think it's poor management.
It looks like a good place to stop, but it's incredibly expensive. The place is spacious, it's self-service, and it has a large parking lot. The prices are outrageous. It's clear they're taking advantage of their location right off the highway. There are better places in Monreal at more affordable prices.
I stopped at this place as a quick stop, a small typical breakfast of ham toast and coffee, to be able to continue the trip, the service was well average, the girl who attended the business, overflowed with her lack of experience in dealing with the public, this message is for travelers, check prices before consuming, do not trust a price adequate to quality price, I knew that in a franchise like this the prices are already stipulated, but the quality is not, and that is not debatable, I leave a photo of the toast and ham plus the coffee, and the ticket that together make the quality price of this place an experience that I would not repeat again.
We stopped for lunch because it's the closest to the highway, as it says "fast track detour," and the next two service areas seemed like a bit more of a detour (+5 and +10 minutes). And I wouldn't stop for lunch here again. Excessive prices, too many staff, and poor service. They sing the menu, and you don't know what it costs or what it costs until you pay €14.95. €1 more for the coffee; the price-quality ratio is horrible. I'm giving one star because I can't give negative reviews.
1 tortilla sandwich €4.75 Low quality, excessive prices Not recommended The cook was very friendly
Very expensive service 17 euros for 2 toasts with butter, 1 juice, 1 chocolate and the Serrano tortilla that I added a photo (with raw tortilla) Disgusting and very expensive I recommend not stopping
Bad and very expensive. They should be ashamed of charging those prices for such poor products.
In my opinion, ridiculously expensive; I hope the poor truckers don't stop here much.
The worst meal I've ever had in Spain. We left everything on our plates.
Bad service, cobwebbed restrooms. The prices of the VIP area at an international airport. A ham sandwich is €11. Too few staff to serve a busy airport. Don't let them wait for me any longer!
SPEECHLESS. Sky-high prices, terrible customer service, disgusting food. We had two set meals, €13.95 each. For starters: "three delights" rice (inedible), they don't even know how to make white rice, and Russian salad (decent). For main courses: pork cheeks with potatoes (passable). Dessert: rice pudding (inedible) and a panna cotta (decent). I find the quality of the food for €13.95 shameful. Even if I weren't willing to do it, such a terrible meal couldn't come out.
Yesterday, June 16th, I was at this restaurant. It's disrespectful. We ordered two Aquarius and the price was 6.10. I was shocked, almost three times what one costs in a supermarket. It's true that this is a restaurant business, but they're pushing it too hard. Not to mention that the times I've eaten there, the menu is terrible, the heated food. I ordered pork cheeks, and it was more bone than meat, and apparently they were from the day before. In short, they only have a lot of space, everything is very expensive, and some elderly ladies there who need to be refined a little. I wouldn't buy anything there again. Nor do I recommend it. Just good parking to rest in peace.
Very expensive!!! Small sandwiches are €8 and coffees are €2 in a paper cup. It's cold in the place. I don't recommend it.
Very expensive prices. Terrible service. There's no bread for a tortilla pincho, which is dry and cold. Don't stop here.
I'm a truck driver Avoid this place! €1.80 single coffee €4.55 frozen tortilla chip €14.50 cold burger without 🍟 or soda Total €20.85
For a roadside restaurant it is very expensive and the food is of poor quality.
I'm pissed off: Terrible service, poor manners, and a made-up menu. While others served you that dubious-looking, unreliable stew, not to mention that smell that put you off, others offered you macaroni. Yes, macaroni, the one the other waiter had said they didn't have. Luckily, the blond guy is very well-behaved and cares about us, the only one who doesn't deserve this review. Well, I wish they hadn't taken my fork and I could eat this delicious meat, which I'm sure is top-quality beef. Good luck to the others. I've been back four years later, and it's still the same shit. Please don't eat here. Unfortunately, I came back again, and even though we thought it wouldn't, it's worse.
A slice of Spanish omelet the size of a Maria cookie, preheated, €4.25. Like a burger bun. Run from this place. €2.25 for a coffee with milk.
I wanted to have dinner after driving home in my truck. I arrive whenever I can and prefer to be told it's closed. I asked about the opening hours and they told me they were open 24 hours. I ordered a hamburger, which they refused to make because they said they were changing shifts. This was at 9:40 PM. I agreed to have a sandwich, which they didn't even heat up, but they charged me €7.50. I've attached a photo. This is definitely the first and last time I'll eat anything here. It's appalling. I plan to warn everyone I can not to stop here. I think it's a disgrace.
We stopped for a meal en route on a bus trip, and it was a terrible experience—total chaos, appalling service, unfriendly and rude. I complained, and the waitresses replied that if I knew anyone who wanted to work there, I should let them know, because they were fed up and there were only two of them serving and working in the kitchen, so they took it out on the customers. I filed a complaint with the travel agency, and I hope they don't stop here again.
A 1.5-liter bottle of water, €3.95, a small half-liter, €1.95, a can of San Miguel beer, €3.95... And so on. A real ROBBERY, more expensive than an airport. Never again.
Not even a half vegetarian option. Starving is fine.
Expensive and the grilled rabbit is a lie, it's baked, I will not eat here again.
I didn't even take 2 sips of coffee. The worst coffee I've ever tasted. (I'm writing this from the toilet with a stomach ache after 1 hour.) The waitress serves you as if she's doing you a favor. And don't even think about telling me that wasn't the case or that everything you have is top-notch. I'm from the town and I know you guys too well. 😂😂 Not even the truck drivers, and even less so the locals, want to stop. Modernize and renovate the place, starting with the employees, or you won't make it through another 2 years. (Although you've already surprised everyone by passing the quarantine.)
The worst place I've ever been. Bad coffee in a paper cup, packaged sandwiches, and exorbitant prices. They'd better save the salary of the only waitress and install vending machines.
The food was very bad, I would not return, the atmosphere was terrible and the waiters were very rude, I would never return.
Terrible customer service. Some of the worst treatment I've ever received. We ordered three tortilla pinchos, and they brought them out cold, and when we asked to reheat them, they laughed at us in our faces.
Very expensive!!! 1 croissant €1.90😡
Place with poor lighting and rather slow staff, what is surprising are the prices compared to quality, I ordered a double smash burger as it said with truffle mayonnaise and they gave me a badly reheated burger with cold and hard potatoes for 18.90 if we add the coke, essentially garbage, it is not advisable to stop here except in an emergency
Service area, poorly run and very expensive. It's worth going to the town; there are some good places.
