We went to this place for dinner with friends. We don't live nearby, but this place is 100% worth the trip. Angela and Barbara are two special people, the heart and soul of this place. The food is excellent, plentiful, and HIGH-QUALITY. Home-style cooking and the aromas of tradition. The snails are excellent, and the meat melts like butter. We'll definitely be back because we felt right at home! Special mention for the herbal tea after the meal—thank you so much again.
🏆 Everything was delicious and plentiful! ⚠️ The number of courses and quantity (as well as quality) was truly challenging. I've never even managed to try all the dishes. If you go for lunch, you'll likely skip dinner at home in the evening 😂If you go for dinner, you might not make it through the night 😂(just kidding). You'll be asked if you want them to pack up any uneaten food to take home (a commendable initiative). The menu includes appetizers, two first courses, four second courses, three desserts, coffee, digestif, water, wine, and bread. 40 euros (a very fair price, considering the quantity and quality). They usually start the meal with a platter of mixed cheeses and compotes; salami with bread; sardenaira and focaccia; and vegetable tart. Today's first courses were tagliatelle with ragù and mushrooms, polenta taragna with ribs in Nebbiolo. For the second courses: snails, braised beef, goat and beans, and shank; Tart, banana parfait, and zabaglione parfait. The restaurant is located in Agaggio, overlooking the street, and is very charming inside. The dining room, set in a small cave, is also very beautiful. Generally, there aren't many seats, so it's best to book well in advance, especially since it's by reservation only. The staff is always friendly. Well done, well done! 👏🏻
There were six of us at the restaurant. It's the kind of restaurant where they don't give you a menu, but bring you everything they've prepared in large quantities. Our lunch lasted about four hours, but it flew by almost unnoticed. I tried to take photos of everything they brought us. For appetizers, we had focaccia with onions, focaccia sardinara, salami with Triora bread, and a cheese plate with mind-blowing jams; for the first course, we had pasta with ragù sauce and sausages; for the second course, we had wild boar with polenta. For dessert, we had two kinds of ice cream (banana and zabaglione) and a crostata pie. Be prepared to eat a lot! We had to give up three (!) main courses (goat, pork, and snails). But of course, we ate dessert. Everything was delicious! We had children with us, and they loved the food too. The place itself is incomparable: you feel like you're in a cliff, but also like you're visiting someone's home. I think this is exactly what real Italy looks like!
Tucked away in this quiet little village, we stumbled into what felt like a family home more than a restaurant. Two of the kindest, most welcoming women you could imagine greeted us, sat us down, and from there… magic happened. No menus, no decisions, just course after course of beautiful homemade food — the kind of cooking you can taste was made with love. They poured wine, shared smiles, and made us feel like old friends, not customers. Every dish was bursting with flavour and tradition, and their warmth turned the meal into a memory I’ll treasure forever. If you want to feel the heart of Italy, skip the tourist spots and come here. You’ll leave with a full stomach, a happy heart, and a story you’ll tell for years. Grazie di cuore ❤️
Very tasty, rich and quick lunch (vegetable torta, homemade pasta al ragú, wine), cozy and friendly atmosphere!
An incredible and delicious experience! From the food and service to the overall ambiance, everything was perfect. The meal was very long, a little too long for our liking, as we spent almost four hours at the table, eventually asking them to speed things up and skipping some courses. We will definitely be back! It was perfect! Thank you so much ❤️
Excellent local Ligurian restaurant near Molini Italy. Recommend you make reservations in advance and ask for specific plates or a reduced menu as they serve huge portions. We had the “reduced menu“ which included a pasta and a meat dish. In all we received huge plates of mushroom 🍄🟫 pasta and a stewed beef dish. In addition we received house wine, focaccia bread, salami and bread, a dessert selection, limoncello, and grappa all for 30 euros each. Great service and the food was fantastic and we had dinner in a real cave.
Wonderful atmosphere, lovely people, authentic food, great value for money.
What an abundance of delicious Ligurian specialties and wine, served with panache! Barbara and Angela clearly enjoy what they do and their formula is a winner. Just remember to not eat too much the day before to prepare for the feast!
Beautiful food, amazing host. I highly recommend a visit to la capra pazza! Make sure you're really hungry and save enough space in your belly for a taste of all the courses. Everything is incredible.
5 stars to the enthusiasm and passion of Barbara and Angela: great to be a part of your dream. We had lunch on the 26th of December: retro atmosphere, indeed cosy and authentically smelling of home in a different age. Food delicious: home made and traditional. Only suggestion: less can be more. I would have cut at least 1 first course and 2 second courses (out of 6 starters, 2 firsts, 4 seconds and deserts..) to have an overall outstanding experience (was honestly feeling overwhelmed from the food at the end)! Keep going and all the best!!
Totally recommend, if you are in the neighborhood you have to go eat there! Barbara is a lovely lady that shares her big passion for food and makes you feel very comfortable. Super tasty, local, and a lot (she'll even let you take the rest home if you can't finish your plate)! Very tasty food, super personal and friendly service, she really takes the time to explain the dishes and answer your questions. In short: great food and service, I totally recommend!
Tiny but special, terrific food, thanks to Barbara and her son!
The food was amazing ! Barbara is a lovely person who makes you feel very welcome. 5 stars . See you soon X
We went to this restaurant for a Christmas lunch. The dishes were good and plentiful, perhaps a little salty and oily. But overall, the cuisine was hearty. The problem is the dining room. The cluttered decor, humidity, mold, and dust make the place feel too shabby. The exposed rock has its charm, but the mold in the corners of the room, in the bathroom, and on the curtains is truly appalling. I understand that the rock face itself brings in humidity, but the dining room exudes neglect. It's a shame, because the ambiance ruins the dishes that, with a little technical attention, would be sublime.
Disappointing in so many ways. We were there for Christmas lunch. I've never seen such a squalid place called a restaurant! I wonder if it would survive a NAS inspection, given the mold and dirt everywhere! And I can't even imagine the food... No service. Abundant food, too much in fact! And everything was smothered in oil and salt! We sat down at 1:00 PM, and at 6:00 PM they were still serving second courses... slow as Lent. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone... not even my worst enemy!
