Popped into The CodFather Of Moraira tried a new addition to the menu ..... Sausage Egg Muffin .... you can also get Bacon . My egg was perfect🍳 .... I love mine soft .... you can have your egg cooked the way you like it ........ I'm going straight in with this: the best salt and pepper chicken I think I've ever had! It reminded me of home in Cheshire. The Codfather is a great chippy and restaurant in Moraira, a beautiful part of the Costa Blanca. It's set back from the road and nestled among a row of other shops, with plenty of parking available. Serving great chippy fare, they also offer many different dishes, including breakfasts. The staff were warm and friendly, and I believe the owners are from Liverpool, now living in Moraira. Inside, the shop is decorated with a wide range of Liverpool memorabilia. The tables and chairs are well laid out, providing ample space, and additional seating is available in the covered outdoor area, where people with dogs can also sit. The food was excellent. The salt and pepper chicken and chips were the highlight – tender cuts of boneless chicken in a light coating of wonderful spices. I would have liked more vegetables with the chips, such as chilli, peppers, or onions, to round it off. The large, thick cod came in a light, crispy batter and was delicious. It was served with a slice of lemon and tartare sauce. The chips were okay, though I’d have liked more of them – but that’s just me. The curry sauce was quite lovely too, with that familiar chip shop curry flavour, and the mushy peas were just as I like them – thick and minimally seasoned.
Lovely fish and chips. The batter was so well done and the fish tasted great. Top notch scran for a Friday evening. No changes except I've gone for smaller portions! Oh the pic is changed, I recently went back and enjoyed a pie and chips for lunch. delicious.
Decent fish and chips and friendly staff. #update# Having tried all the F&C in the area over the last few years, these are consistently the best and have even managed to improve a little recently. The surroundings let it down a bit but you can't have everything. Upgraded from 4 to 5 stars.
I have visited here each year I come but have always had breakfasts. Today I tried their cod. Wow. The best I’ve eaten. Light and tasty 🫶 🤤

One of the better fish'n'chips I've had in Spain. The service ia kind & attentive, we drove about 10 minutes from Portixol, it nice getting a shaded table away from the crowds. Of you're an Aussie like me, order the haddock its more like flake unless you prefer whiting then go for the cod.

It does what it says on the tin! No pretences. No frills. No luxuries. Just good, properly cooked, crisp fish and chips. Breakfasts looked good too. Best fish and chips in the area. Fresh fish, fresh, real potato chips cooked in fresh oil. Mmmmm

The most tasty haddock and chips x 3. Crispy batter, melt in the mouth fish and a great wee tub of tartar sauce. Chips weren't bad either! 😋

El fish and chips estaba muy bueno. El rebozado muy crujiente y las patatas espectaculares y caseras. El precio es correcto y puedes comer mucho por poco dinero. Vimos en otras mesas el desayuno que ofrecen hasta las 3 de la tarde y se ve de aspecto delicioso y un precio excepcional. El precio es de 7'50€ el bacalao mediano a parte las patatas 3€ medianas. Raciones amplias. El menú infantil grande. 5'50€ ración de dos trozos de pescado y patatas 🍟. Puedes elegir también en este menú nuggets y salchichas.
Tienen desayunos (hasta las 15:00) y almuerzos económicos. Nosotros fuimos a merendar porque no habíamos comido. Buena calidad. Pedimos bacalao y eglefino para probarlos los dos. El eglefino nosotros los españoles lo conocemos mejor como abadejo. Los dos estaban muy correctos. La ración de boniato frito fue muy generosa. El vino de mesa muy bueno. La camarera nos trató de maravilla a pesar de no entender español. Es una pena que en España no vayamos más a los Fish&Chips. Es una comida que vale la pena probar. Luego cada cual que repita si quiere.

I have enjoyed a wonderful afternoon with friends here. Amazing fish & Chips. The batter was light & the freshly cooked chips are amazing... I'm also not sure everyone knows about their full menu. My friend enjoyed her Chicken & Chips & there are healthier options too. I fully recommend Codfathers x

Had haddock and cod fish and chips takeaway from them today. Lovely, but needed a little bit more salt. But that's no problem cause I got salt at home. Been worse the other way. Should have taken pictures but I was sooo hungry. No, very good and I will happily recommend The Codfather to my friends. 👍

A small unassuming restaurant, no fancy decor. We had excellent lightly battered cod and chips, done to perfection and NOT oily... Friendly and efficient service and reasonably priced. Our current top choice for fish 'n chips dinner.

Wir gehen normalerweise ins Fishy Fishy. Leider war es am 30.12.25 geschlossen und sind deshalb zum Codfather. Es ist ebenfalls ein sehr gutes Restaurant mit sehr aufmerksamen und freundlichen Personal. Im Fishy ist der Codfish einen Tick besser.

Ik had een hamburger schijf met salade erg onverzorgd slechte salade en hamburger droog en niet lekker. Mijn vrouw had vis met patat vis was prima patat slap en vet .bediening was ook slecht ongeïnteresseerd.

Food poisoning! If I could give a 0 I would have After I said I wouldn't go there again, 2 years later I saw myself there for a second time as ..I was going to fishy fishy but sadly it was closed. Long story short I spent the afternoon physically being sick into a plastic carrier bag in a car park, not ideal with a 9 hour car ride ahead of me...I was physically sick until the day befores, under heated up, not heated up enough - NOT freshly cooked battered sausage was out of my system! The cod was also heated up and not fresh but couldn't have been the culprit as my husband wasn't also being sick into a carrier bag in a busy car park! The chips also again were not fresh, and we're the worst chip shop chips iv ever had! I have said it before but this time I will stick to my words..and I'm never going there again!
My husband and I bought cod and chips to take away. As soon as I opened the container, I could smell the rancid oil . At the first bite of a chip just confirmed my suspicion, they had used old oil to fry the fish and chips . This morning my husband had a very bad stomach which topped our very first Codfather experience. We won’t be be giving the establishment any custom in the future
