Cru Uncorked

Me and wife had dinner on Dec-30th. Space itself is grand with multiple dining areas. Tables have good distance in between so you can enjoy a conversation without overhearing much. We started with drinks and appetizers. Steak tartare and octopus were great. Probably the best cooked octopus I ever had, knowing how hard it is to cook it perfectly. We had chicken and duck as mains, which were pretty decent, not as mind blowing as appetizers though. Desserts were also pretty good. Service and platting was great, which you expect at a place like this. Couple of things that could have been better. Butter served with bread was a little too hard and didn’t have the spread like consistency that you can easily put on the bread. Had to apply force and it crumbled. Also, the spätzle with the duck was bland and not seasoned at all. Other components of the dish saved it though. Great experience overall though and we will be back.

The absolute best of fine dining in Cleveland. Highly recommend. Each dish offers a fresh, creative and artful palette of seasonal flavors. And it only gets better from there — the desserts are simply unreal: inventive, complex, bursting with flavor, and stunning to look at. The best we’ve had. All too often fine dining = predictable, overpriced menu in a stodgy setting. But not at cru! Every dish was inspired, thoughtfully crafted, and beautifully presented. Portions were very reasonable — and while its not cheap, the value per $ far exceeds that of any other top-tier restaurant in Cleveland. The wine list and expansive cellar is unparalleled. Service is warm, fun, friendly, and always anticipated every need we had. Cru may be far from the action and verve of the city, but it is certainly worth the journey for a special evening!

Highly recommend this place. Request Marc! He was absolutely phenomenal , he explained every dish to us; the food was amazing and even better, the service!! My duck was overcooked but it was fixed right away and it turned out incredible. We will be back !!! Thank you Marc for your expertise and marvelous service 😇

02/06/2025: Came with the friend on weeknight just to catch up. While the food is very good, the question is now whether it is worth the prices - we split one appetizer, one salad, one main course, one dessert and each one of us had a drink - we paid $100=person before before tip. So basically, for dinner of 2, be prepared to spend $350 or so. Is the restaurant beautiful - Yes. Is the service impeccable- Yes. Is it pricey and worth the price - maybe once Ina big while or just simple visit to lounge or outside patio for coffee/desserts would suffice ----------‐----- 10/11/2025: Came here on a whim (yet again) for desserts and sat in the lounge (surprisingly, after so many visits, first time) and absolutely love it, after after patio, this is my and my wife's favorite room. All 3 desserts and coffee were fantastic. Because we were celebrating a birthday, bartender was gracious enough to give us a sample of their dessert wine and it was fantastic. Yet again, this restaurant proves its on another level! --‐--------------- 09/13/2025: Absolute phenomenal experience, as usual. Cru is just getting better and better with each year. The ambiane outside is just great. Before our dinner (on the outside patio), we walked around their own garden. As per usual, we go very light with dinner, 1 salad (Melon Tomato Burrata), 1 appetizer (crusted tuna) and 1 main course (Fried Squash Blossoms). All of them were fantastic, my favorite was Burrata, my wife's was crusted tuna. We then went for dessert - Pistachio Struesel Tart and Mago Eggs. For the tart, we like the little things around the tart (i.e. truffel) more than a tart itself. While it is good, its a big heavy and sweet and you really need to have coffee or tea with it. Then Mango Eggs - OMG.. this has to be one of the best desserts we have had in a long time, probably in top 3 ever - from the mouse to puree to the yolk, to nest.. to sorbee.. this was just a dessert of perfection. For the service... in the beginning I was getting a bit frustrated with it. Our server seems to be a bit flustered and in a rush, to the point that he dropped and shattered a soda glass by walking out of the kitchen. But then he composed himself and slowed down a bit. Otherwise a truly perfect evening!!! -------------------------------------------------------------------- I lost count on how many times we have been at this restaurant and every time this place delivers... and today was no exception. We came here a bit late so we thought we are going to be very light tonight, and we did our best but this place is just so good. But we did stick with couple appetizers and desserts. For appetizers, my wife chose Tuna Tartare and Petite Green salad, both of which were outstanding. But the reason why she wanted to visit was - desserts (my wife has a very sweet tooth and she loves to bake herself so she is a very tough judge of desserts). And did the restaurant delivers, the desserts were absolutely PHENOMENAL. We had Chocolate Almond Bar (the cognac ice cream that it is served with is awesome), Chocolate Gianduja Tart (rum ice cream was very good and Tart itself was fantastic) and Frozen Nougat Glace (very very good and very refreshing). Their pastry chef is hitting it out of the park The restaurant itself is under expansion, they have added a semi-private wine and cheese room and its very neat (can't wait to see what this place looks like when they are done). Absolutely awesome experience, can't wait to be back.

Absolutely delightful experience here. We had a table of 10 for a birthday dinner. The service was lovely. From the time you pull into the parking lot until you leave, they make sure you are fully taken care of. Server was very knowledgeable and offered tons of information on drinks and dishes, as well as answering all of our questions. The pastry chef made a delightful dessert that we will all be dreaming of for years to come.

Very satisfied with the service and the menu choices. The food and drinks were phenomenal. Coffee was surprisingly delicious as well. I believe our waiter’s name was Donny; he was very pleasant.

Excellent food with superb wine choices by the glass if you dont want to buy a bottle. You will struggle with choosing soup or salad, appetizers and then the main meal. The more the merrier so you can taste each other's choices. We will be back.

I rarely write reviews, but our experience at Cru Uncorked for my wife’s birthday last night was simply sensational and required a recap! Our server Alban(Al) treated us like VIPs with a guided tour, snapping photos of us, and wonderful food and beverage recommendations. I didn’t get the server assistant’s name, but he was phenomenal as well, reinforcing our decisions and coming in clutch with the peanut butter s’mores dessert recommendation. The Steak Tartare was brilliant, and I ordered the Rack of Lamb for my entree, which was one of the most well composed entrees I have ever eaten. Each component of the dish added the perfect flavor to complement the previous or following flavors, I highly recommend it! The dinner was excellent from A to Z but the service from Al and the rest of the team was extraordinary. It was our first time of what I am sure will be many at Cru Uncorked!

Fabulous, from the stunning interiors, the incredible Art, the attentive and very knowledgeable Staff to total deliciousness coming out of the kitchen, The only thing that topped all of this was the INCREDIBLE wine Cellar Selections, Great Job!

We hosted our daughter’s wedding ceremony and reception at Cru Uncorked in Moreland Hills, and it was nothing short of incredible. The food was absolutely phenomenal—each dish was crafted with care and beautifully presented, truly elevating the entire experience. The service was top-notch, with every single staff member being attentive, professional, and genuinely kind. They went above and beyond to ensure our daughter’s special day went smoothly. A very special thank you to Lauren, the event coordinator, who was absolutely spectacular. Her organization, professionalism, and calm demeanor made the entire planning process seamless and the day itself flawless. The venue itself is stunning. The outdoor French Gardens offered a breathtaking setting for the ceremony, and the Château-style architecture created a sense of timeless elegance. Inside, the dining rooms are filled with beautiful artwork and classic charm, adding to the sophisticated, upscale ambiance. The entire space has a very cool, elegant vibe that made the wedding feel both intimate and grand. Cru Uncorked is a hidden gem and an absolutely perfect place to host a wedding. We couldn’t be happier with the experience!

very very very late review… but i went to cru by myself to celebrate my birthday last month, and i had a spectacular time. i’ve kinda trained myself to get used to going on solo-diners, but this was my first time visiting a more “high-end” restaurant by myself so i was initially kinda nervous. However, i was instantly welcomed (with staffs knowing my name!! — i did make a reservation prior tho). I was just so surprised of how caring all the staffs were; multiple of them (the hostess, server, chef, etc) stopped by at my table to say a quick happy birthday, which was so touching and showed how much they cared for each and every one of their customers. ok, more into the food. i did get a lot because i was really hungry at the time… but i got the octopus risotto, iberico pork, and mont blanc. honestly, the octopus risotto was under appetizers but it could be a whole entree for its huge portion size and how filling it was. i remember it being super creamy and rich with the octopus leg being tender and very soft. 10/10 recommend. the iberico pork was absolutely heavenly. i’m usually a beef/steak person so i was little hesitant to order when my server recommended this dish… but she was 100% right with how good the pork would be. super tender and fatty and the mashed potato on the side was soooo good. it had some popping? textures to it (couldn’t remember what it was) but it added to the uniqueness of the dish and it was so fun to eat. Lastly, i got the mont blanc because i personally love the taste of chestnut, and i absolutely do not regret my choice. my asian taste buds cannot tolerate excessive sweetness but this dish was not too sweet while retaining all the nuttiness and richness. cru also has an excellent drink selection. i got their spirit free mojito? don’t exactly remember the name, but it was tart and refreshing. they ended up having the drink and the dessert on the house as like a mini birthday present for me, which was super sweet of them. my word selection isn’t sophisticated enough to describe my experience, but i do want to note that i had a very memorable birthday experience at cru. 10000/10 recommend this place and i am willing to come back!!

Absolutely worth the time and money. I’ve tried other “fancy” special occasions restaurants in the past, including Pier W and Flemings, but wasn’t too impressed. This experience at CRU met all my expectations, it is exactly what I had hoped for in fine dining. If you want a special dining experience, this is it.

I was skeptical of the hype but when a friend who has impeccable taste but is also hard to please enthused about it, I had to try it. The food is SPECTACULAR. I was blown away. Probably the most memorable dishes since we dined at a small restaurant in Montreal 10 years ago. Well worth the wait, the time, and the price.

Some of the most tasteful and intresting dish presentations ever. Absolutely the best octopus app... it is a must try. The servers are well versed on food and wine. Everyone was very friendly. Wine list is fabulous. Next time I would like to go and just sit at the bar which is its own cool vibe.

We dined on the spur of the moment and they welcomed us without reservations. Service was great. Food presentation and taste was fantastic. We had duck and a filet. Both were wonderful. Excellent service from the bar and staff all around. We will visit again!

Just had a wonderful dinner at Cru Uncorked and it absolutely earned five stars. I had the duck, and it was simply outstanding. Perfectly cooked, flavorful, and truly memorable. It's clear a lot of care goes into their dishes. Beyond the food, the atmosphere was excellent – elegant but still comfortable. We sat under the outdoor covered patio and even with the rain had a pleasant time. Service was attentive without being overbearing. If you're looking for a great meal and a fantastic fine dining experience and especially if you're a fan of duck, Cru Uncorked is the place to go. Highly recommend it!

Easily one of the best executed meals we have had in some time. We has scallops and duck, which were prepared to perfection. Jake made phenomenal suggestions and his attention to detail was superb. First time for us, but we will be back.

Dinner tonight was excellent. Octopus app. And tuna app. Wow ! Burrata salad we shared also outstanding. Main course we had chicken and fillet again both really good. Our server Al was the best. We shall return.

This place has an outstanding wine selection 15k bottles in the wine cellar. The building and grounds are very relaxing. The food is in every way top tier and so is the service.

As good as you can get in Cleveland, the city I love. They’re legit with the food and proud of it. I’ve only been here a few times and they remember you, what you like, your name, etc…. It’s service, really good service. If they were feeding you chicken wings it would be elevated because of the staff and their service. It’s a special place, but you don’t need to be dressed all vogue to enjoy it. Don’t get me wrong, be presentable…bit know that you will feel comfortable with the staff and the menu.

Phenomenal experience. The staff made us feel very welcome and were very professional. My wife and I had a wonderful meal and the cocktails were top notch as well.

First-rate fine dining. Really old-world feel with the jazz, carpets, white tablecloths, and the unrushed pace of service, but the dishes are inventive, modern, and delicious. The service team all works together seamlessly, and everyone we interacted with was warm. Our server Al made great wine recommendations, and there were a few very thoughtful touches based on our conversation. President Chris was kind enough to give us a cellar tour afterwards and answered so many of my questions. This is the spot for a special occasion!

My husband and I dined here for the first time with another couple. We were all very impressed with our food selections and the warm and inviting atmosphere of the restaurant. Our server Julie was very knowledgeable of the menu and explained things very clearly. There was a major snow storm the day we dined there so we basically had the restaurant to ourselves. Julie was kind enough to give us a tour of the wine cellar and other areas of the restaurant. We will definitely be mack again.

I took my mom to Cru Uncorked for a birthday dinner. We were impressed with the food, but the service in the lounge area was unacceptable for a restaurant in this price range. Starting with the positive, the food was very unique and modern. My mom ordered the duck breast and I ordered the lamb saddle. Both plates were creative, cooked perfectly, and there were so many elements to enjoy and try together. The varying flavors, textures, and visual elements kept the meal interesting throughout. We also shared the escargot appetizer which was very good as well. We ordered the chocolate banana tart for dessert and it was very tasty - every element was infused with chocolate or banana flavors that melded very well. They surprised us by comping the dessert for my mom's birthday - a very kind gesture! Now for the not-so-positive. It seems the business casual attire we wore forced us into the lounge where we were seated at an awkward table in the corner of the bar area. The website indicated business casual was acceptable, but it was pretty clear they sent us to the casual bar area after seeing us enter. This shouldn't be a problem - the menu is the same regardless of where you sit. However, the staff in the lounge were very inattentive, rarely checked in on us, and clearly focused on a few regulars and those ordering multiple drinks. The lounge area is so casual, another patron decided to have a loud video call with a friend on speakerphone. The wait staff was friendly, but it was very difficult to get their attention and ultimately this made what could have been a very enjoyable evening both frustrating and disappointing. For the prices and the upscale perception the restaurant holds, a better service experience and atmosphere would have been appreciated. Perhaps if I return I will wear a full suit in the hopes of getting a better service experience. Overall, the experience was positive because the uniqueness and quality of the food overshadowed the abysmal service. I recommend trying Cru Uncorked, but definitely recommend dressing up so that you have a chance at sitting in the dining room area where I can only assume the service is better.

Our visit was spur of the moment. We walked in not expecting a table, figured we could sit at the bar. Hostess said every table on the patio was reserved for the entire dinner service and we could sit at the bar and have dinner. Great. Food was good, service was good, outdoor garden was spectacular. Patio was mostly empty. Only a handful of tables had people sitting at them. That was concerning as it would have been a lovely place to enjoy dinner. I'm not sure why we were misled. Not impressed by that part. I guess they don't like it when you show up without a reservation!

We celebrated a birthday here. Complimentary valet parking and beautiful ambiance. Perfect for a family meal or a romantic date. The server and staff was attentive. Everyone was knowledgeable about the menu and made excellent recommendations. Many varieties of wine and drinks. The cocktails were a a bit overpriced. We had an appetizer, entree, and dessert. The house bread was good and we got a complementary salmon tartare. The arrangements and display of the food were great. The taste was good, just not spectacular. Some entrees were somewhat bland. The menu prices reflect the service and type of establishment, which are worth it. However, the quality of food alone does not merit such prices in my opinion. Still, it is a good option for a romantic evening. It is worth a try at least once, if not more. I would come back again.

Great place for an elegant dinner. The service was excellent and the drinks were good. The menu is a bit limited, but our party enjoyed their food.

Food excellent. Server excellent. Atmosphere, well I’m only 58 so I might like it better in a decade. You can do better than wrinkled French prints on the walls. Tables are large and impersonal. We were sat in an empty room without windows by ourselves while there were others in other rooms that were brighter and more inviting.

I got the 29 dollar burger . The burger was ordered to be pink in the middle , The burger was well done , very bland no seasoning . The burger came with arugula , goat cheese and a bacon jam . The bacon jam was flavorless and was to much of it . Goat cheese was good but way to much on the burger . The same burger is at Pub Frato for half the money and usually way better . Really cool place and decent service . If you have a 29 dollar burger it should be amazing .

It took me a while to write this review, and I am writing it with a lot of hard feelings. Cru Uncorked was our first choice for special occasions in the past (until the last visit). I will start with the worst: THE FOOD. the food was awful! It was presented beautifully but was not good at any other aspect! Taste was industrial, portion size was unsatisfying and shaming the value of the money that was paid for it, some ingredients felt not fresh and had vinigary aroma to them, desert was a total disappointment and though it was wonderfully served (visually), it was unedible and.. well.. just bad! THE SERVICE was not as expected and remembered from past visits. Bread and drinks were served late, and the overall attendance to the table was lacking. THE ATMOSPHERE was very good, music wasn't too loud, dining area felt spacious and it was relaxing and comfortable to sit at the table. I don't know the reason for the tremendous decline in quality of both food and service. I would definitely not visit there again unless chef and pastry chef will improve their performances and service will get a refresher. Overall it was a huge disappointment and made our guests (and ourselves) feel awkward.
