I always like to come here for lunch when I want something different. Live their crunch roll and the teriyaki chicken bowl. I just call and order ahead and makes for a delicious and quick lunch.

This place should open up another location in my town, Desert Hot Springs, in the brand new gorgeous Mission Lakes Marketplace plaza, across from Mission Lakes Country Club's golf course. They are leasing now, and The Bowl would be a fantastic addition there. Everyone in town is craving a new place to eat out. I totally recommend The Bowl. Hope they come to my town soon!

Let me start off with - I've had premium grade sushi and I've also had not so premium grade sushi and this spot is your sweet local sushi go to. I normally order sashimi when I get sushi to grade the freshness and move then move on to rolls from there. The Bowl hands down gets 5 stars across the board they always seem to deliver the freshest fish they possibly can. For being further from the ocean than most stores they deliver a pretty darn fresh plate ever time I've eaten here.

The bowls are very good. I'm a fan of the chicken bowl. However, I've been getting only sushi the last few times I've visited. I like the teriyaki chicken roll (served warm, very surprising flavor) and tempora California roll. Two rolls are enough for me and probably most people as they are larger. Pro tip: Call in your order for pickup. Seating can be limited during peak times and it can take 10-15 minutes to make your order.

Began coming here about mayne 6 months ago on a whim. Good thing I did, my personal favorites are Chicken w/ shrimp bowl w/ brown rice and it's steak version of the bowl. The added viggies they cook on there makes the meal even better. Never a bad time there.

Best .... Honestly if me or my wife want something yummy this is the place to go. Their food is nothing but the best in the area. An trust me there are many options but they beat them all... and don’t get me started with the service.... ********** 10 stars isn’t even enough!!!

Love stopping into The Bowl for my sushi fix. My hubby and I love sushi, and we also happen to do a lot of DIY work on our house. The Bowl is conveniently located a few steps from Lowe's. The sushi quality is good. The service is quick, friendly, and responsive. The restaurant is always clean and well stocked. We love their handrolls. We will for sure be frequent flyers here.

I can't speak on what this place used to be, because I didn't try it until last week after it said it was under new management. But it's AMAZING! The bowls are good sized, tempura veggies are great as well as their hands rolls. And worth the money!

Big Bowl is a very good quick and easy sushi type of place. The food is very good and filling. The staff are friendly and the place is clean and inviting. If there's any place out there on Day street to go eat I'd pick this. You can order a couple of sushi rolls or a bowl and it would be a great meal. They even do the Korean style rolls with pork in them that I hadn't seen in years.

A surprise hit! Driving home from San Diego and craving something healthy, I took a chance and stopped here. The avocado roll was huge and delicious. The bowls were generous portions and tasty too. Something for both carnivores and vegans here. Even semi picky children and adults are likely to find something. Restaurant was clean and service was fast and friendly. It was empty when we walked in, but does get busy real quick.

The bowls here are amazing and they are pretty big. I haven't been able to finish a bowl I end up taking it home a saving it for later. Staff if nice and place is clean.

I currently am on a fast and the have these bowls that are super delicious extraordinary and filling. When I am not fasting I usually get the combo shrimp & steak bowl with no raddish and white rice. The teriyaki sauce is the finishing touch that completes the bowl Now... The bowls are amazing I can't say that enough but you will not believe it if you didn't see it but they actually have sushi made all by Hispanic guys. I say that with all due respect as most people know traditionally sushi is primarily made by Asian's. These guys know how to make some mouth watering gotta have sushi.

I would definitely go back again and would even consider it for a date night (despite it not being date night atmosphere). The employees were polite and greeted me so overall this is the kind of restaurant that will get my repeat business.

There food might be good but customer service sucks! We order 2 sushi rolls waited for 15min when a family of 12 and others came in our wait went to 45mins all the others got their food and we are still waiting I got up asked food my food the cook snapped his teeth made the food when I told him I was disappointed with the service he laughed and said "Oh well we are busy bye!!" didn't apologize and that's all I was liking for. HE WAS AN IDIOT!

Nice little place that seams to be busy most.of the time. They do try and get "creative" with their sushi rolls and ends up with the taste being off.

Food is good. But it’s hit and miss on whether they get your order right. I order on DoorDash and AGAIN today my order was wrong. I asked for extra teriyaki, which I didn’t receive and I requested the veggies cooked well done. Nope, my opinions were basically raw. And for $19 (salmon and shrimp bowl), I barely got any veggies or rice. Definitely didn’t get my monies worth. They fell short tonight - for sure.

Teriyaki was good, meat was nice and tender. Delish veggies. Sushi options not my taste. If you like baked, fried, cooked rolls give this place a try lots of creative options. Raw, sashimi style looks elsewhere.

I use to like it here, I have a positive review from another account that I would leave alone because at that time it was great. Now, their rolls are big and stuff with more rice not to mention the cuts are not like they use too. They use to have good proporcional sizes and they are getting sloppy. The eel sauce it’s super salty compare to what it used to be. The selection of rolls are pretty much the same with a different name and different way of putting it together. Overpriced for basic rolls, you may just want to go to the Starter Brothers on Iris Avenue, they have good basic rolls better then this place. I would recommend a real place where they serve real sushi.

Like the food, when they get it right. I like their shrimp and salmon bowl, but they tend to give me the salmón and chicken insted, so check your order before you drive off.

I’ve been to this place four times. Every time I get my bowl, the meat is lukewarm and I always have a lot of water at the bottom of my bowl. Don’t know where the water is from but if I had to guess I would say from the veggies when they spoon it out of container and place them into the bowl. Either way, this place isn’t as good as Flame Broiler or Waba Grill. Freshness matters a lot to me and I just didn’t experience it at The Bowl. Although the prices at The Bowl are a little less expensive compared to their competition, that old expression “you get what you pay for” definitely applies here.

Wow, where do I start. The service sucked all the joy out of your expectations; the food was terrible, but I deserved it thinking that non asian can make good tasting sushi roll(what heck was I doing there)and to boot, i got sick after trying to choke it down, never again will i be this hungry

This food was not good, very little flavor and seemed like it had been sitting out for a while. The staff were unhappy and the cafe itself seemed dirty even as they were cleaning it.

The customer service is Horrible! A quick suggestion dont ask them to fix your order it'll quickly turn in to one of the worst experience ever! I won't be coming here ever again. Managment was a part of this not to mention I heard them talking bad about my family shaking their head, and who knows what else. It was so offensive and immature. that says alot of the ethic of the place! I've worked in the food business for a couple years and the customer service either makes it or brakes it!

Used to love this place… they gave us spoiled salmon lastnight. When I called to ask if I could get a remake the manager said, “ No, you have to call within 2 hours of your order” although there is no sign up that says that. Not to mention the managers are never trying to help.

Very sad to report this. Love love love the food, but they broke a cardinal rule. I took my food home, to find no utensils, napkins, soy sauce, chopsticks, trays for the soy, or the sauce that is supposed to come with the chicken bowl. Called to let them know. It was their first mistake, so I wasn't even really mad. The young lady was very pleasant, then a gentlemen got on the phone and insisted that I was wrong. He repeatedly told me over and over that I was incorrect and that he had put all of the things mentioned above in the bag. I kindly told him that he was incorrect, and he continued to argue with me. I went out and checked my vehicle to make sure even though with how tight the bag was tied there was no way it could have spilled, it was not in there. I took my food back and the gentleman in person still would not admit that he had made a mistake. This may not bother many people, but if a business is hiring someone who is dishonest, and standing behind them, then how do we know the quality of what they do behind the scenes? Can you trust a business that stands behind employees when they lie? I am very disappointed in the actions of management. I am also very disappointed that I will not be eating here again as the food is actually quite great for the price. I even told the gentleman "even if I am wrong, as a business owner, you should never call the customer a liar. " Sad day for sure, loved having a quick sushi spot.

I had to change my rating. It's been a five for years. But the last the times they have gotten my order wrong. I always get the same thing. And every order that's wrong, something is different about it. Im to these point that I KNOW they do it on purpose because I never ask them to fix it. Im being singled out. Very rude young lady at the register. Hung up on me when I tried to place order over the phone because she said I was yelling. Didn’t let me explain that I was trying to speak into the car microphone. Then when I confronted her in person she wouldn’t let me talk, started counting to ten like I was a child, and threatened to call the police. I was not raising my voice or acting aggressive in any way.

We came in on 8/24 and were the only customers in the entire restaurant and nobody greeted us and they made us watch them record a video of them making food possibly for promo content. There was like 4-5 people behind the counter and nobody took the intiative to take our order and we just awkwardly waited there until we decided to walk out. Nobody said anything as we walked out either. Went to cava across the street and wasn’t disappointed there so I’ll be eating there from now on.

Purposely have prices miss labeled in order to get you to overspend. Just dropped $80+ on an order that was supposed to be $40. All good, they got the one up on me today. Won’t be eating here again.

I don't understand the positive reviews. This is the first time I tried this place. I ordered the Tilapia and shrimp bowl and sushi. I ordered take out. Don't live far from this place. When I opened the bag I couldn't believe how intense the smell of fish was. I've never had a fish order smell so intense. The shrimp in the dish was overcooked as it was tough. The sushi was horrible. Not fresh. I will not order from this place again!

If I could give zero stars I would. Miso soup taste like toilet water. The combs plate is terrible. Chicken is dry and overcooked. The sushi is disgusting and the pot stickers are chewy like rubber. This was my first time ordering here and I'll never eat here again.

Horrible experience with this place. I ordered the Philadelphia roll and ended up getting food poisoning. I also had an allergic reaction due to the food I ordered. The salmon and cream cheese did not taste good and it affected me badly.

Saw me pull up and locked the door as I was opening it looked like they were cleaning up wayy before close time too!! I still had time to order!! If you close at 9 then close at 9!!!

I ordered the shrimp bowl from here. And I’m honestly confused on why the reviews are so high here. That’s honestly what got me to try the food. It taste like a blander version of Waba grill. Selfish with the shrimp, zero salt, ZERO seasoning. Just bland overpriced food. Extremely disappointing.

TERRIBLE. YUCK! My order: Tempura Veggies; soggy and tempura was just nasty THEY GAVE ME SWEET AND SOUR FOR DIP!..... I ASK FOR TENSUYU, they responded what is that! California rolls were ok but something missing like, PONZU .....they didn't know what that was. THIS TOOK MY APPETITE AWAY.

The food is good, but I'm getting tired of them getting my order wrong. It's like I trust them, but when I get home I realize the messed up again. How difficult is it to add green onion to my salmon bowl?? Get it right guys!!!

I used to come to this place a lot until tonight I had my first bad experience. People who had ordered AFTER me, received their food BEFORE me. I have the benefit of the doubt of thinking maybe their order was just easier to make than what I had ordered but turned out that they ordered the exact same thing as me. No only was I skipped in line multiple times, I ordered a Hawaiian Roll and it had a big piece of Saran Wrap. Bad service. They don’t care about your safety. Just stay away if you can, I’ll also be calling corporate to see how we can improve these bad experiences and health violations.

Beware! Ordered 2 salmon sushi rolls, 2 salmon hand rolls and a steak bowl , spent a lot of money to get sick , left a message for the manager but the manager never seems to be around, BEWARE! Don’t order from here unless you want to get sick
