We had a great 1st experience here. The staff was super friendly and helpful with ordering and the restaurant was clean! The food was delicious!!!! It was true Chicago style food that was VERY reasonably priced for high quality of the product. We will definat2ly be back next time we are in the area ❤️

Cars That need

Can never go wrong with Portillo's. They're happy to be a part of Southern California. It consistently tastes good; access is easy, allowing for comfortable in-and-out, and I'm sure plenty have eaten at Portillo's, so I'm confident they'll agree with me. For those who haven't, you're missing out on a really, truly Chicago-style taste in Southern CA.

First time at Portillo’s. Love the restaurants atmosphere and how casual the vibes are. My husband and I split the two Hot dog combo with a Chicago Dog Maxwell street polish dog. They were both delicious but the Maxwell was juicy and the caramelized onions were amazing. We also split the beef and cheddar sandwich. The sandwich was okay. I would definitely go with the Italian beef sandwich next time. The chocolate cake shake is a must have. It’s make with real cake and is superb 🤩

The food here is gooood. Solid plant based garden hot dog. The meal came with fries and a drink and it was very filling for me. I don’t eat much and if you do you may want to order more. Prices are reasonable with the plant based hot dog around $5. The service is fast and efficient. The ambiance gives off a Chicago/Italian style restaurant. There are many seats in there and great for families. I like the lights and dim lights in there. I recommend ordering your hot dog with grilled onions and giardiniera sauce for the most flavor. Plant based garden dog: 4.5/5 Fries: 4/5 (fries could’ve been cooked more)

I’m not a sandwich person but their beef sandwich here is so good. For the fries, always get their signature sauce. I do not recommend the cake smoothie. It was very sweet.

1 of 2 California locations (currently). Located on Day St. & Gateway Dr. directly across the street from Baker's. Plenty of parking and drive-thru service. I was in the mood for a Chicago-style hotdog, so Portillo's it was. I'm lucky to have this location nearby. You order at the counter and seat yourself. Menu items consist of Chicken, Fish, Italian Beef & Sausage Sandwiches, Hotdogs, Burgers, Salads, Shakes, and even a 'Grab & Go' section, including merch. We ordered their 'Two Hotdogs' combo and 'Italian Big Beef' sandwich to share. As a dessert, I had their Lemon Cake slice. Everything tasted amazing, just as if I was in Chicago. I made sure to order their hotdogs as is, absolutely no changes, no ketchup and/or mustard added as Chicagoans taught me lol. The Italian Beef sandwich was perfectly wet. The restaurant is big, and clean, with a fun atmosphere perfect for family dining. Service was fast and efficient. Overall, it has always been a good experience at Portillo's, and will continue to enjoy their iconic Chicago-style hotdogs & Italian Beef sandwiches.

We really like this place for a quick and delicious meal at a great price. We are vegetarian, so we love their plant based hot dog, and their great salads. Their Chicago dogs are very authentic with all of the great toppings that you would expect. The service is always friendly and our orders are always served quickly. The food quality is excellent and portion sizes are very good. They have a drive through for those that don’t want to get out of their car. Inside, you can wait in line and order at the counter, or use one of their ordering kiosks if you prefer not to stand in line.

This place is awesome and has amazing food choice options from my favorite the beef and cheddar croissants to a Chicago dog to burger and sandwiches! You will not be disappointed with anything you get on the menu and they even have shakes and the best one is the chocolate cake shake! The service is always friendly fast and efficient! I've been going here for years and I've never been disappointed with the service or the food which is why I keep going back and cause the food is amazing! The ambiance is kinda like your normal casual sit down restaurant but a little bit nicer in my opinion and it's good by yourself or with a date or family and friends and even a big group! I highly recommend this place if you've never tried it and especially recommend the beef and cheddar croissants! I'll definitely be back again soon! And to the staff and team keep you the amazing work you guys rock and knock it out the park every time!

Absolutely obsessed with this place I wish it were closer to my house. My online friend from Chicago recommended this place to me not knowing the chain came to California so I had to go try his go to “the Big Beef with Mozz no peppers DIPPED” and it’s the best fast food I’ve ever had. I’m also obsessed with their fries just exactly the perfect crispness. After the big beef I looooove the chili cheese dog. The beef weenies they use are just above average.

So far, this is as close as I've gotten to an authentic Italian Beef and Chicago Dog in SoCal. So happy Portillo's is here and in Anaheim (can't wait to try this location next). I'm happy to see both the interior and exterior look like the one in downtown Chicago. Lots of seating, staff was fast to clean dirty tables, ordering line was quick, and it didn't take long before my # was called to pick up our food. The dog was shorter than I'd like, and I'd swear the sandwich was smaller too than how it's served in Chicago, but I'm not complaining since it's an authentic taste of the windy city.

I love Portillo's! A good Chicago style hot dog with a charming atmosphere. The day we went they ran out of French fries, but the onion rings were a decent substitute. My little one ordered the 4 piece chicken strips and ate 3 (picky eater, was very disappointed about "no fries"), but shared a bite of the chicken with me and I thought they were pretty good. They used to have a mushroom sandwich for the vegetarian option, but they replaced it with a garden dog, to which the party member who ordered it greatly preferred the sandwich (note to the company: REAL vegetarians aren't looking for a meat substitute... Please bring back the mushroom sandwich! ❤️), but we enjoyed the meal overall, and we plan to stop by again to eat when we are in the area.

OKAY, 1ST OFF THE PLACE IS SOOO COOL!! They're working on expanding the place rn, and I'm so excited to see how it's gonna turn out 😁 The food is really good but kinda pricey for fast-food (you'll probably spend around $20/person). I think it's pretty worth it to go once in a while, though! This was my first time here, and my husband and I were really excited to try it. He’s been to several locations and always raves about this place. Unfortunately, my experience didn’t live up to the hype. The customer service from Jonah, the General Manager, was very disappointing. He took our order but came across as rushed, short, and condescending, which completely took away from the experience. It made me uncomfortable enough that I lost my appetite and had to step away. I didn’t want to ruin the night for my husband, especially since he enjoys this place so much, but overall I left feeling very unimpressed.

The aesthetic is very pleasant, the vibe is great. But what really matters is the food and unfortunately it’s not very good. At least the burgers aren’t. My girlfriend and I got the cheeseburger and bacon cheeseburger. They were both incredibly bland, no flavor at all. We couldn’t even bring ourselves to finish them, and we hate wasting food. Not to mention how expensive the food was. $41 for the both of us. If you’re looking for a burger, avoid Portillos at all cost.

Every time I go there I spend 30 or $40 just for myself. A couple of days ago I ordered my usual drive-thru and I ordered the melted cheese dip. I go home I do not find it included. So I went yesterday again but this time I walked in and I ordered my usual order and I told them that they did not add my $1.40 cheese the other day so if they can give it to me today free of charge. It's just $1 item and I didn't think they would make a big deal. The young lady at the cashier told me she cannot help me with that. Then she called the manager and the manager asked me for the receipt. I told her I did not bring it so she also said no you have to pay for it then! They are giving their trash Californian customer service bad name to the Chicagoan franchise. Too bad.

Food is good.. when they get the order right. How hard is it to make sure all the items are in the bag. We waited almost 10 minutes, to only leave and find they did not add our gravy x 2 on the side. I think we said it at least 10 times. Still. They didn't do it right. Ugh.
