I celebrated my 36th birthday with my partner here and the staff was wonderful. They surprised me with a birthday desert free of charge. They gave me expert advice on wines and let me try them before choosing which one I wanted! I also forgot my purse and the manager waited outside with it for me to return to get it! Loved my experience.

This is my girlfriend Gina‘s favorite restaurant in Morgantown. I didn’t post a picture of it but the dish called the “Diablo” is absolutely the best thing on the menu. They have specials every day and the seafood is also good. The dish the “Mediterranean” it’s also extremely good. We have been wanting to try the place called Cafe Oliverio’s for quite some time. It looks like they have pizza and hoagies at that one. I attached a picture of their salad and mussels, which were absolutely awesome. Literally almost every weekend we are like, “ let’s go to Oliverio’s!”. Yes, you can dress up and look nice but you can go casual and you can really go however, you want. There are people there dressed every single way you can imagine so you could come in with a hoodie or you could come in with a nice button down. There’s a patio in a bar area and a regular seating area and the building is gorgeous like an old industrial setting. Parking has two different options from a lot right out in front to a parking garage right next to it.

Perfect place for a lovely riverside dinner. The food was incredible. I highly recommend the stuffed banana peppers. They are a little spicy but perfectly hit the spot. The crab dip and sachettis were perfect as well. They have both indoor and patio seating, and both have really nice ambiance. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a great Italian dining experience.

Fantastic place w great service and outstanding food ! Calamari was some of the best we have had. And the marinara sauce is exceptional. Homemade breadsticks were excellent. The salads were also fantastic . We had The Roman and Rigatoni w meatball and meat sauce . 👍💯

I highly recommend the grilled veggie pizza and limoncello martini. Great service and fabulous view of the Mon River.

A beautiful Italian restaurant experience with a date or the family! The menu has a wide choice of dishes for different taste. I encourage you to try their seafood options. The bread is a great start the house salad is perfect. The staff does great with large groups and kids. Make reservations if you plan to dine after 6pm. The drink is fun and the bartenders are great mixologist. There is out door seating with view of the river and rail trail

I recently dined at Oliverio’s for my birthday. It was a bit crowded and had to park in the parking garage since there was a concert happening close to the restaurant. We went in and it was nice there was a ramp that my mother could use and we were seated almost immediately with only one or two tables available next to the bar. We waited a minute or two for our waiter to take our drink order. While we went over the menu (the menus could use some upgrades with the stains and cracking plastic covers). The time it took for our waiter to return was a bit longer than normal but they were busy at the time. I ordered the crab dip with pita chips (not pictured here) and the Seafood Alfredo which came with a side salad and breadsticks. Order delivery was a bit on the slow side but I was expecting that, the food made up for it. The crab dip was delicious, and the pita chips were kind of crunchy. The red wine vinaigrette was perfect for the salad and breadsticks complemented the salad. When my entree came out, the smell of the Alfredo was intoxicating, the shrimp and scallops were perfectly cooked. My only complaint was that there was way too much Alfredo sauce. There was about a cup of sauce left over, but it was so creamy and delicious that I didn’t mind it. I ordered a cannoli to go because I was stuffed. Overall, it was a great time and great food!

We were in town for a night and went for a walk on the walkway by the river. Stopped in here for dinner. Some of the seating has a view of the river which was nice. They have a full bar and a good selection of food. Our food was really good and our waiter was friendly and attentive. We had a good experience and will definitely be back if we’re in the area again.

What a fantastic experience. We had friends recommend the restaurant in Bridgeport, and after a long day of testing at the hospital, gps found the Morgantown location. We arrived just a few minutes before opening, but we're received gladly. We requested a seat on the patio in Journey's section, and had an amazing experience. We chose this restaurant because we saw veal on the menu and it certainly did not disappoint. The bread sticks were homemade with just the perfect texture, buttery soft with just the slightest crisp. The veal dishes were amazing. The location sits right on the river trail with amazing views of the Monongahela River. During dinner, hot air balloons began to fly over the river, a gentleman walked the trail with his pet pig, and we were graced with views of a little tug boat and the WVU rowing teams practicing. Journey kept the experience lively and made wonderful recommendations for future visits including nearby live music venues and more. He also made the perfect dessert recommendation. All around a wonderful evening after a stressful day. I recommend you ask to sit in Journey's section when you visit next. Oh, it opens at 4pm est. For dinner. Oh, their ranch and other dressings are also homemade from scratch. I hope you enjoy your visit. Beautiful and befitting music while we waited. Staff allowed me to exit patio covering to allow me to take photographs on the wharf as well. Would definitely return each time we visit the area, ask for Journey.

Delicious meal as always. My friends loved their pasta dishes and my NY strip was amazing. I was also celebrating my birthday and the cannoli was perfect. For appetizers I recommend the meatballs, the fried provolone, the bruschetta, and the calamari. The service was great and I would definitely go again.

I dont know how to put this flavor in your mouth, but im going to try. Imagine getting your food fresh. Like from pot to plate fresh. Im 40 years old, and never have had a fresh plate like this. The marinara sauce could use some work and we had a lot of fun with the waiter... But damn, yinz did good tonight....real good.

Highly recommend eating at the best restaurant in Morgantown. Oliverio’s has an outstanding menu with refreshing drinks nestled with a great view of the river. The stuffed peppers are my favorite.

My girlfriend and I went here for our 1 year anniversary dinner. The food was amazing, I had the Sicilian Trio and my girlfriend had the stuffed shells. Then deserts were also fantastic. Phil was a very good waiter as well, and answered all of my questions. I highly recommend coming here, but would encourage reservations as the wait can be quite long. Oliverios is a place I will definitely be going back to.

This place was one of my favorite meals of 2024! The steak was prepared perfectly, medium rare. I will be back again.

I had my first anniversary here with my girlfriend in 2020, and now my engagement with her here at oliverios today. They gave us the same table we sat in, and the entire staff helped me coordinate the perfect evening for my fiancee. I dropped off the ring, flowers, and candles the day before and they turned it into a magical night that we won't forget. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is perfect for a romantic evening. Our server was so nice and bought our shots / dessert and another server took our pictures and recorded the proposal. She said yes and we won't forget it thanks to the Oliverios family!

SUCH a good restaurant. First timer tonight & I’m glad we did. We waited to get on the waitlist online because it said there was no wait (Friday night/big mistake). So as we were parking in the garage ($1.50 for around 2 hours), I got on the waitlist & we were #2 in line. However parties of 2 kept being seated before our party of 3 which is understandable because they have a lot more bar seating available. Checked in at 6:50 & got a table by 7:20. They do multiple courses, so expect around 10 mins or so for each course. It was a nice atmosphere. Our server was Chris & they were absolutely outstanding!! Refilling our drinks AS the last bit was being drank, not kidding! The humor & recommendations were really appreciated. They were on point for sure! Even made an effort to speed things up when they noticed our 12y/o wasn’t feeling the best. I got the Diablo which was spectacular. The boys got seafood Alfredo. The salads were the least liked item we had. The crab dip was awesome as well. Talking it over on the way home, I’d probably want to try the stuffed banana peppers next but both boys said they’d get the seafood Alfredo again. We’ll be back for sure!! Worth the small wait we did have. Also, I’d love to have Chris again as our server. Made the evening that much better after a rough week!

Traveling to see family and was recommended Oliverio’s Ristorante for dinner. What a local gem down by the river. Seating indoors and outdoors. The sounds of the river, birds, geese, and even a working train provided wonderful background soothing sounds. The Fettuccini Alfredo and bread sticks were great.

Found on Google and stopped on our way back from Virginia. The food, atmosphere and our server were great. We had lobster ravioli and eggplant Parm over angel hair pasta. I forgot to take a pic of the parm🤦🏼‍♀️ they came with salad and yummy breadsticks we also had calamari as an appetizer. We sat outside under the covered patio along the river. Highly recommend.

This is an excellent Italian Restaurant. They have excellent food. We were a large dinner party, and they were able to accommodate all of us. You are able to make reservations in advance. Our server noticed my mom's birthday pin and brought her a special dessert. It is a great place for celebrations or just wanting a good Italian place to go. Definitely recommend checking it out.

Melody Dufrene Eschete

From start to finish we loved every single bite! Red apple sangria wasn't overly sweet, warm buttery garlic bread, with house infused oil with red pepper flakes & parmesan was good. I am so thankful we tried the angel hair fried crab balls. YOU MUST TRY THEM!! Caprese salad with shrimp, olives, & peato took caprese salad to a whole new level. Mediterranean pasta (we opted for angel hair) was deliciously flavorful & generous amount of seafood. We finished off the meal with fresh made raspberry cheesecake & Limoncello cake. (I don't normally eat icing but ate EVERY single bite on the Limoncello)

I’m gonna start by saying I’m a college student and my boyfriend and I have a tight budget. This place was worth every cent. We were told the wait would be 1 hour 45 min. It turned out only to be 1 hour, and they sat us after the restaurant had officially closed, and treated us with upbeat and charismatic service. This place had Olive Garden prices, but it was dining at the ritz. I felt like it was a steal. The ambience is soft, clinking of drinks, warm, we ordered the fettuccine Alfredo, perfect, we both cleaned our plates, and the salad bowl, and our bread basket. We ordered the cheesecake for desert and it’s the best I’ve had since I can remember. Closed out the night with both of us eating 3 courses for only $44 combined. Couldn’t be happier, will be returning monthly. I would recommend however, getting a reservation!

Absolutely wonderful experience! From the excellent staff and the quality of food, to the ambiance on the river, everything was beyond enjoyable. My husband had the seafood Alfredo and ranted and raved not only during the meal, but for several hours afterward that it was the BEST Alfredo he has ever had: savory, good portion of scallops that were much heartier than the server implied, with a bounty of sauce. My son had the shrimp cocktail for appetizer and the filet mignon for entree that was so delicious, my husband and I had a hard time not stealing bites. The icing on the cake was that the server overheard us tell our son to take the whole shrimp cocktail as it was his birthday, and they surprised him with an amazing birthday cannoli after the meal. We had a series of unfortunate events before arriving this evening, but dinner at Oliverio’s changed the course of events making everything come together in joy with a beautiful meal. Five stars and two thumbs up!! We will be back!!

Got a late lunch/early dinner here. Friendly staff, decent food with reasonable price and a breathtaking view of river. It’s a family owned business.

When we came to this restaurant, we were not sure what to expect. I personally have been to many Americanized Italian Restaurants and have an issue with finding Authentic Cuisine. We have never been here before as we are new to the area and wanted to go out for dinner for NYE 2023. Everything we drank and ate was truly divine. I had the Pomegranate Martini which was out of this world. I have never had an opinion about breadsticks and even they were beautiful. The Caeser Salad was made fresh and you could tell the cheese was also fresh and not frozen. We had the Calamari and I need to state something important. I have been to 47 states and 3 counties and they have thee absolute best Calamari that I have anywhere since 1999 in Santa Barbara CA. They don’t use cheap products like panko and they didnt overcook or undercook it. Everyone always wants to use too much oil and fake breading and over cook it but they didnt! We had the eggplant parmigiana which was absolutely divine and literally melted like butter to the touch and in my mouth. Now the Atmosphere was also gorgeous but what really made this night spectacular was our server Phil. He was intensive, polite and really went the extra mile. He even put my leftovers in the box for me. I am someone who really cares about and appreciates details and the little things. I have been to at least a hundred if not more food establishments and I have to say I have never had a server go to the lengths that he did. He deserves so much praise for his work ethic. I am truly impressed by him as well as our amazing bartenders and cooks that were on shift this evening. This experience has moved this restaurant into my Top 10 restaurant recommendations in the United States. Brava.

Stopped on 9/17/2025 for dinner. Second time visiting here first review. Oliver’s Italian in Morgantown is outstanding. The stuffed banana peppers with hot Italian sausage and marinara were perfection — no fillers, just bold flavor. The beets and goat cheese salad was fresh and vibrant, and the Sicilian Trio (lasagna, stuffed shells, baked penne) showcased a rich, delicious meat sauce. Great wine list, excellent food all around — highly recommended!

My experience last evening, was not only delightful, but one for the books! I came in on the occasion of my birth, and was greeted by two very lovely hostesses, in which I do apologize for confusing one of hostess's as a Waiter/Waitress. I chose outdoor seating to match the setting of the dish that I picked out before coming to this establishment. Which was Stuffed Shrimp and Risotto, and in truth; expectations were exceeded! I paired the meal with a smooth and inviting Rosé, Fleur de Prairie. The dish I ordered was immaculate, there were notes of corn and mushroom, and that addition to the seafood, made it as though that the breezes in a corn field were synchronizing with the currents of the deep sea. During my visit I did not feel rushed nor uncomfortable. I want to also thank the staff last night Megan, Sierra, Sam, and Lance for a wonderful evening! I apologize for if I got any of your names wrong. The staff is the heart of a business, and last night could not have been made possible without them! I did not anticipate that Megan would solo *Happy Birthday* to me as well! That moment was the cherry on top for me. Coming out with the Birthday Dessert, the cake reminded me of some family recipes when I was back home, and the Cannoli was the first cannoli I’ve ever had, I was NOT disappointed! Thank you for an experience that I will never forget! I look forward to the future dining experiences here!

First time at Oliverio's, but it won't be our last. Great service, great atmosphere and AMAZING food. On the advice of our wonderful server, I tried the mushroom sacchetti with salmon. Truly delicious, the salmon was cooked to perfection, the porcini & portobello filled pasta in vodka sauce was awesome.

Food and service was phenomenal. The ambience is superb. The manager came out after we finished eating just to thank us for coming in and asked us if we needed anything else. We highly recommend this place.

The charcuterie appetizer is simpley divine and the deep fried crab balls with fried spaghetti was also 👌 delicious. This was only the 2nd time I've eaten there and just like the first time it did NOT disappoint 👏.

We just hosted my son and daughter in laws baby shower this past Saturday and Oliverio’s did an awesome job. I live out of town and did everything by phone. When I arrived everything was just as I requested. They were so gods to deal with. The buffet was wonderful, everyone raved about it and we had 2 wonderful waitresses . I can’t say enough about them. I highly recommend Oliverio’s at the Warf for any party you may be having

Food is always amazing. The fresh baked breadsticks are 2nd to none! Our go to Italian restaurant when we are in Morgantown! Our server John was fantastic. My 1st visit was 14 years ago when my daughter went to WVU. Highly recommend 👌!

Another memorable meal! The friendly service accommodates a relaxing pace. My gluten-free cauliflower crust pizza was made to order the way I like it with Oliverio's spicy marinara sauce, their Italian hot peppers and generous bites of Italian sausage 😋! I'm so happy to enjoy a safe gluten-free meal in a delightful setting! Thanks for making every visit more awesome than the previous one.

Really a great meal. All the food was delicious. Best calamari in a long time. Loved the bread with hot pepper oil and cheese (we all ate too much of that). Drinks really good too. Service was slow but I can overlook that on a very busy night. Prices were reasonable too

We had Saturday reservations at 4:30 and were promptly seated. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. We were inside. The service overall was very good the entire time. Our server made some suggestions and we started with the Angel Hair Crab Balls and the Stuffed Banana Peppers. Both appetizers were very good - the crab balls in particular were very unique! We also had salads and soup - I liked the Caesar salad but didn’t love the wedding soup (it needed a little more flavor for my taste.) Everyone at the table really enjoyed their entrees. The chicken parm, seafood Alfredo and the trio were very good. My husband especially enjoyed the grilled scallops in the Alfredo. My dad had a grilled red snapper special that he really enjoyed as well. Next time we are in town I would not hesitate to stop back in!

L

The food was amazing as always. I definitely recommend making a reservation if dining in especially on Friday night/weekends. The only downside was they are changing their menu and no longer had sandwiches which we were looking forward to.

To start off Jannet is amazing. We had a party of 18 that slipped threw the cracks between day shift and night shift. This where running a little behind. Jannet was great with clearing the room as quick as possible and set up was just as fast. She knew the menu in and out. All of our food was delicious. The Bruschetta was the best I've had in awhile. The crab cakes look a little weird but they tasted great. With a party this big, I wad able yo try a few of the other dishes. The chicken alfrado is hands down the best dish. The chicken Marsala and the chicken diablo was good as well. Thanks again Jannet for all you did to make this wedding dinner great.

This is a really good restaurant. The atmosphere is on point and somewhat rustic. The staff is friendly and Johnny on the spot. Now the food. I had shrimp cocktail for starters and it was beautiful. My salad had house dressing and that was fantastic as well. My ahi tuna was a little over cooked but seasoned well and the risotto was cooked almost perfect but not seasoned well at all. In all worth the money and when I'm back in Morgantown my wife and I will be back.

R

Came to town and heard about this must stop. I must say the food was amazing. It's been a few weeks, and I will have to edit what we all had. I had the Diavlo, and it was amazing. We also had some cheesecake, and it was fantastic. The only blemish was the service was not great. I have had worse, just disappointed at the level we got.

D
D Springston

Overall, I recommend this restaurant. Last time we ate there, I really enjoyed the caeser salad, breadsticks, and desert. Like really, really enjoyed all of those. The booth we sat in was quite nice, the atmosphere and service was solid, especially for how busy they were. The only thing that fell flat was the main course. I wouldn't say it was bad, but it was pretty bland. I had the Sicilian Trio, and I swear Ragu or Prego sauce from the grocery store would make it taste better. Also, the texture of the cheese in the ravioli seemed a bit runny to me. I do really like this place, but I want more flavor with the main courses, especially for it being an upscale place.

M
Marki Mullins

It was okay. The food was pretty bland, but the service was amazing!

W
Will McLearen

The restaurant ran out of ribeye before they opened on college move-in weekend, but did not notify us when we made reservations an hour before arriving. Ordered crab dip and cocktails. Crab dip had zero crab. 99.5% cream cheese - no crab. Almost empty restaurant, seated in front of kitchen and restrooms. The staff graciously moved us, but why did we have to ask? Have been here before; loved the experience. Very disappointed; may not return. LATE ADD: Manager attempted to let us out without paying, which I think was reasonable. We had drinks and the crab dip. We insisted on paying for the drinks.

C
Christopher Walker

The calamari was great at lunch, but I am not impressed with the steak salad. The steak was done just how I like it, but the salad was soggy and floppy. I was not able to get one "crunch" from my greens, and it was more like eating green stew than eating a salad. The service was top notch, and the atmosphere was great. Just work on making a salad properly.

Honest Reviews

Atmosphere (2/5) Oliverio’s is in a prime location along the Monongahela River, with the rail trail running behind it and a pleasant outdoor seating area that overlooks the water. From the outside, it gives the impression of an inviting, upscale spot, and the initial walk-in feels promising. The bar area is spacious, and the dining room has a mix of booths and tables with skylights that bring in natural light. However, closer inspection reveals that the restaurant needs a lot of TLC. The booths are worn and banged up, and surfaces throughout show signs of wear. The bathroom was especially disappointing — the door wouldn’t close properly, the bottom of it was black with grime, and the floor was sticky and unkempt, with the area below the urinal looking filthy. While the outdoor area was set up nicely for what seemed like an event, the interior felt neglected and in need of a deep cleaning. Service (2/5) Our server was friendly, but the overall service experience was slow and inconsistent. Breadsticks took far too long to arrive. When I ordered Italian wedding soup, the server later informed me it wasn’t ready yet and offered to have me take it home instead. I decided to wait for it, but when the soup finally arrived, it came in a cracked bowl — a crack that went from the rim all the way to the bottom. This is a serious health and safety concern that should have been caught before serving. The salad that came to the table was lackluster, with limp lettuce, a sparse presentation, and what appeared to be a questionable dark piece of produce that initially looked like a bug. Food (3/5) The food was average at best. The breadsticks were the highlight — warm, buttery, and flavorful. Unfortunately, the rest of the meal fell flat. My spaghetti and meatballs featured bland meatballs and a sauce that was overly sweet and tangy, not to my taste. The chicken parmesan came with lukewarm chicken and pasta topped with the same underwhelming sauce. Both dishes were supposed to feature a meat sauce, but I found no visible meat in mine. Overall Oliverio’s has a fantastic location and the potential to be a standout waterfront dining spot in Morgantown, but based on my visit, the restaurant needs major improvements in cleanliness, attention to detail, and food consistency. Right now, it’s hard to see how this place maintains its reputation without addressing these issues.

Placed 4 entrees. 3 of the 4 entrees ordered had issues: (2) pasta meal were already cold, my steak was full cooked instead of medium well (no signs of a sight pink). 3 of the 4 meals probably sat around waiting for my wife’s entree that took longer to cook. Asked for 1 of 2 pasta meal to be recook Server said she will get another pasta cooked, but what about the chicken on top? So now that too will be cold??? Asked for another steak, so she asked to take the steak back and leave the mash potatoes/mushroom on the plate. She came back with new steak and mushroom but my mash potatoes for 1st plate was already cold?!?! First and last time here. Wait staff could be trained better to handle cold food. How to fix it. Been to other higher class restaurant and they take care of you. Not here.

My wife went here with a larger group. The waiter, "Journey" (actual waiter name) was rude and completely negligent, he took forever and spoke sharply to the group when they asked for their food. A portion of the group were there for over 80 minutes then had to leave without ever even getting their order. People all around the group were getting their orders while her group never got their orders. The manager was told, agreed that the service was terrible, but then did nothing to make it right. The group had reservations, were polite, and were badly treated.
