Hon Sushi

so delicious! decided to grab some takeout sushi from here with a friend after reading all lf the great reviews and am glad to say that this place deserves all of its good press :). quick service, SUPER generous with their fish to rice ratios (and the sashimi slices were MASSIVE), and very, very reasonably priced. will definitely be coming here every time i crave sushi!

This sushi restaurant is delicious! Portion sizes are generous, the fish is fresh, and the staff is very friendly and fast. We got the Warriors roll and the Rainbow rolls, both of which were amazing.

As mentioned by several others, this place is a hidden gem! Here is everything I liked: 1. Called to check whether they have cooked rolls. The lady was very kind and mentioned the options. There were difficulties in understanding the accent for both of us but she was extremely kind and did not get frustrated. 2. Food was ready on time. Nominal pricing compared to every other place in the area. Portion size is significantly more than others and the taste is pretty good. Worth every penny. 3. After we paid, the lady advised us to take pictures of the menu posted on the door as it had the cooked rolls called out explicitly. This is what I'd called as true customer service. She promptly remembered our conversation and when I got there she remembers to help me for my subsequent visits by showing the menus with indicators for cooked rolls. The people are kind here and the food is good. I highly recommend this place - you will not be disappointed.

Enormous rolls and great service! If you like salmon, the Double Salmon roll is amazing with a huge amount of salmon.

This is the best sushi place in Bay Area in my opinion. Food is delicious, always fresh and tasty, price is surprisingly pleasant as well! And owners are just super nice. I Highly Recommend!

Got Chirashi ($23.95) and Unagi bowl ($13.95). Great fish quality and quantity in the chirashi. Fish cuts were quite big. Unagi bowl was good. Wasn’t anything great but maybe I need to try it dine-in.

Portion sizes are large and it always tastes great. High quality food for a very reasonable price. Definitely the best place to get sushi in the area. Highly recommend!

Delicious! It seems like Korean family business, Everyone was so nice and friendly. Food portion is huge even Ginger, Wakame salad kind of side dishes were so big! We were so hungry forgot to take a photo before we killed it....next time!

I love the Korean Ramen soup here! I’ve only tried the Spicy California roll but this place is consistently good so I’m definitely going to try more of the sushi on their menu.

By far our family's favorite sushi Resturant. Family run, Kim is the nicest and friendliest . Sushi is great and fresh.

The food is really delicious and the portion sizes are huge. You definitely get more bang for your buck here. The lady / waitress is also very kind and generous. They even gave my group a fried jalapeno dish on the house!

Amazing hole in the wall sushi spot. Good for takeout but there is also seating outside - usually not too busy. Sashimi sizes were some of the biggest I have ever seen, and great quality too. Rolls were also great. Overall food was excellent especially for the price. We will be coming back again!

Cozy sushi shack with wonderful staff. Sushi rolls are fresh and delicious, teriyaki sauce is well-balanced, miso soup is scrumptious and comforting. Decided to grab a quick bite after the movies, and it was worth every second of consideration. We were warmly welcomed in and food came out quite quickly after we ordered. Will gladly come back.

The food was DELICIOUS! Huge plates, usually in Japanese restaurants the portions are very small. Everything was so fast, so yummy. I’ll definitely come back here again and bring my friends as well. The best spot for sushi :)

Hon Sushi is a modest restaurant with great food, service, and prices. The interior decor is simple - fluorescent lights, supplies on some tables, and some tables with unbussed dishes. But the older Korean woman who served us was very kind and helpful, and the dishes themselves were clean. The food itself tasted excellent, and roll ingredients like avocado and tuna were more generous than other restaurants. Prices are lower than most restaurants in the area too. Finally, don't forget to ask for water, it's not provided by default.

Wonderful hole in the wall. Came here for an early Father's Day lunch after seeing a movie (went a day beforehand in order to keep away from the busy rush). The food was phenomenal, the staff attentive, and felt like it was family run. If you're in the area and like sushi, be sure to stop by!

Hon Sushi, my familys' favourite sushi place in the bay area. We found this beautiful gem of a restaurant almost 4 years ago now, and have been coming only here ever since. It's the only restaurant I can say I've become a "regular" at, for good reason. The service is great, the food is SO GOOD, and the prices are unmatchable. $9 for a MASSIVE special roll? You could split one of their special rolls between two people, and be satisfied. I haven't found an equivalent in the bay area. The staff of Hon Sushi have always made us feel at home in their wonderful restaurant. We come here for so many special occasions: Holidays, birthdays, all sorts of celebrations. Thank you, Hon Sushi, for providing us with such great experiences, over and over again. We love you!!! 💖💖💖

Though this place is not big, sushi rolls are simply awesome. I love to order their Alaska roll and Dragon roll. They are just tasty. It's definitely a nice place to dine in. In summer, I love to sit outdoors and enjoy the sushi with my friends. Price is reasonable as well. I will definitely recommend this place to those who are in town!

This place could have easily been a 5 star in my view if the sushi rolls did not disintegrate when eating. The rolls taste very good, properly sized except the end piece (those end pieces are twice as large), and with sizable proportion of fish and other items. The sauce is not overwhelming, so that the taste of fish or crab is intact. Other ingredients are also properly used. The rolls are more large and the ingredients feel and taste fresh. Service was quick and there is outdoor seating arrangements available. We found the rice was not that sticky and that is why the rolls disintegrated. Other than that, given the price range and options, this is a place worth trying many times.

Good sushi; good price. The creatively-named rolls are delicious. The owners are incredibly warm, friendly, and pretty much the nicest people ever. The decor is also really cute and shows a lot of love.

As we are vegetarian- they offered to make a vegetarian sushi version from their caterpillar rolls. I must say this was my first time trying sushi and I loved it! I will be coming back to satisfy my craving soon.

Its pretty good food. I don't think the sushi or the rolls are of exceptionally high quality or anything like that. But the serving size per dish/roll is huge and its cheaper per roll than anywhere else in the area. I can get full off of one roll for about $15 which is a great deal for Mountain View.

I've passed by here for years, wish I'd stopped by sooner. Speed, service, and food quality were great, although fwiw I showed up on a Thursday night. No other customers were there, and the staff were filling online orders, although people showed up after I sat down. Edit: tried some other rolls. One of them had soft shell crab and unagi; it wasn't the freshest. The other roll had tempura shrimp and was fine. Tl;Dr: still good but somewhat inconsistent.

This place was open on a Sunday afternoon and came here with two of my other friends. The place wasn’t too crowded so we were seated immediately, and we got some bar seats. Food: We got the unagi bowl and the salmon teriyaki bowl, which were alright in taste but had too much rice to food and didn’t really have anything super special about them. The teriyaki sauce wasn’t bad however and the small portion of food that we had was tasty. However, would have appreciated more for the price. Service: Food came out at a moderate speed, we were probably waiting for 20 or so minutes. The waiters didn’t check in too often and they were hard to flag down for the check. Ambiance: The place is a bit dirty and there were flies buzzing around when we went in. It was quite casual and the setting was nice. Probably wouldn’t come again but we were hungry on a Sunday at 3 pm and didn’t have many options.

I ordered a beef teriyaki bento box with gyoza. The price of the bento box is worth it, specially if you order addons. The portions are good. The teriyaki was a bit too flavorful and almost salty.

Very reasonable price with great portion size. But the teriyaki sauce was too sweet for me.

Got GrubHub. It didn't seem authentic from just looking at the salad. The spider roll was meh. The chicken teriyaki Bento is filling and cheap but not good teriyaki. Usually you get the nice smelling grilled teriyaki but not here. Like others mentioned, the teriyaki sauce isn't the usual.

We have been here more than 10 times. Everything was fine but this time he had issues: - Couldn’t communicate, nobody speaks English - Menu has changed and prices as well, not the same quality. - My daughter dropped her chopsticks and the owner didn’t give the new one, she tried to fix it. Again I couldn’t explain that you don’t need to fix it, it’s dirty you need to replace it. 😁 Crazy. Are those chopsticks so expensive? To conclude, That was our last visit.

Lady upfront had a bad attitude when I came to pick up my food. I ordered for pick up. When I came to pick up i told her my name, she asked me for order confirmation, fine. I showed her the confirmation with my name and still didn’t give me my food. She kept looking at my phone, not sure what else she wanted to see. After telling her the price and name match the receipt on the food she said okay. This was not the first time I’ve ordered here but most likely the last time.

That was rough. Table and chairs were dirty. Hostess just wiped off the seat with her hand when she seated me. Brought out a roll I didn’t order and a spicy tuna roll that was so salty and fishy I couldn’t eat it. Rainbow rolls…I don’t know how to explain it better than nothing tasted remotely fresh. I am genuinely worried I will get sick. I asked for the bill and got overcharged for the sake until I pointed it out on the menu. Disappointing experience.
