It's a great pleasure for me to write this review for "La Polveriera," a restaurant/pizzeria on the hills of Righi, Genoa. The restaurant boasts a breathtaking view, transforming every meal into an unforgettable experience thanks to the incredible panorama and the spacious, beautifully organized spaces, allowing guests to maintain their privacy. The musical selection is equally remarkable: the music, never too intrusive, fits perfectly into the ambience, creating a pleasant and relaxing background. A super-talented singer, both in her voice and her musical selection. But let's get to the undisputed star: the pizza. My wife and I tried two different varieties and were extremely satisfied. My pizza pane was light and digestible, without that late-night thirst that often occurs after eating at other pizzerias. The flavor is exquisite, a testament to the high-quality ingredients used. The wine we chose to accompany our dinner was also good, perfectly in keeping with the excellence of the cuisine. The icing on the cake was, without a doubt, the service. Courtesy and professionalism are the key words. The waiter who served us was exceptional in his attentiveness to customers and his consistently friendly demeanor. The restaurant owners were also very friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Parking was easy and convenient, right in front of the entrance. Finally, the final price pleasantly surprised us. Given the quality of the food and service, we expected a much higher bill. Instead, the value for money was truly excellent. “La Polveriera” is a restaurant I highly recommend to anyone in Genoa. A hidden gem that offers the perfect combination of good food, excellent service, and a breathtaking view.
Unexpected and extraordinary. We stumbled upon Polveriera, a newly managed restaurant and pizzeria in Righi, on the hills above Genoa, almost by chance. From the tables nestled in the greenery of the forest, you can enjoy a splendid view of the Gulf of Genoa. This alone would make Polveriera a must-visit for anyone looking for a relaxing moment, but there's more. The pizza was also truly delicious, with a perfect dough. The taste buds were clearly impressed by the quality of the ingredients, and the dough was well-leavened: thin and fragrant in the center, with a soft, satisfying crust that I devoured, even though I usually leave it aside. The wine was also excellent and served at just the right temperature—a rare treat considering I chose a house, undemanding, cask wine. The staff were extremely courteous and friendly, as were the owners, with whom it was a pleasure to chat. I'm so happy I stumbled upon this delicious pizzeria, and I'll definitely be back to try the restaurant's specials and the generous aperitivo. I glanced at the neighboring tables and saw platters of cured meats and cheeses, fruit and vegetable compotes, and appetizers paired with the cocktails, which made my mouth water! Finally, a special shout-out to the young and talented DJ and singer who made the atmosphere even more welcoming and relaxing with a selection of timeless international pop songs.
Amazing place, delicious food from pizza to grilled meat, and we even tried the aperitif... the owners were very kind, as was all the rest of the staff! Guys, really cool, pardon the expression... and who's going to leave you again 🤣🤣🤣 we've already booked for the next two weekends!!! 😍
Excellent aperitif: the appetizers were delicious, served with plenty of top-quality food. The garden is beautiful and refreshing, with many splendid trees decorated with fairy lights that create a lovely atmosphere. The live music was a delightful surprise. The owners were incredibly welcoming, very kind and helpful, thank you. We'll be back soon.
Bella location
A pizzeria a little out of the way, but worth the trip. It has a breathtaking view, a super romantic terrace overlooking the city and the sea, and good background music. We went here for family dinner; we all ordered pizzas and fries as an appetizer. The pizza has an excellent dough, light, easy to digest, and made with good ingredients. We had a small daughter who was treated incredibly well and pampered! The mille-feuille cake and tiramisu were delicious. There's ample free parking outside, and for those with children, there's a small playground; dining on the terrace allows for easy supervision. The staff is very friendly, attentive but not intrusive. In my opinion, it's worth the trip; definitely worth a try. The prices are fair for the quality of the dishes.
A quaint venue with two large spaces, one with a DJ booth and the other for band performances. Unfortunately, the menu is limited, just pizza and dessert; a first and second course menu may be available upon reservation. The desserts are good, but not exceptional, and the quantities are limited.
Very nice location with plenty of space for children, slow and disorganized service despite the large staff. One poor waitress was yelled at by the chef in front of everyone in the dining room—a truly unpleasant sight, lacking professionalism. We didn't like the pizza; the sliced steak was better, which was good. If they improve, it has potential. Fair prices.
It's a shame about the beautiful setting with so much potential, but in our case, the pizza was truly forgettable... It tasted like a Buitoni. I really don't think they used the wood-fired ovens they have. The table was out of order, paid by bank transfer. We had a table for 8 adults and 2 children, plus another table for 4 in the entire room for the whole evening. The pizzas arrived two at a time every 5 minutes. I hope it was just an unlucky night for them.
Surreal evening. We called to make a reservation, and once we arrived, we sat down. They came to take our drink order, and when it was time to order, after receiving the restaurant and pizzeria menus, we were told that the kitchen was closed! It would have been nice to know this in advance on a Thursday evening in August, perhaps when we made our phone reservation. To everyone's embarrassment, they brought us the wine and left it on the warm table. We'll see tomorrow if the pizzas are good quality. The desserts are the same as on the restaurant menu. In short, I don't think we'll be back. It's a real shame because it's a place that would be crowded anywhere else on the planet, but here they just can't make it work!

Let's start with the principle that this isn't a criticism to "destroy" but to try to make the new owners understand that they really can't demand money for the food/lack of service they "offer." We arrived at the location wearing our jackets, and we never took them off! January cold inside and out, with zero heating. Atrophied feet. Menu, I'll skip over it.... The appetizer starts with a meatloaf, COLD, followed by some cured meats... half a meter thick and really low quality. I won't post a photo of the prosciutto because I don't want to exaggerate. The first course, not bad... the tagliolini were the only decent dish. It continued with a veal with tuna sauce, which I won't comment on. Cold, cold, cold. So, okay, since we've barely eaten, we decide to get a pizza. Raw pizza, raw tomato. We left the pizza too... anyway, we went for the bill, and the owner pretended not to be the owner... No comment. Never again, a shame because it's a truly wasted location. Oh I forgot, obviously the POS didn't work, cash only 🤦🏻♀️ the only person I save is the waitress, very kind.
I'll start by saying that my review is intended as constructive criticism for the new management... New Year's Eve, let's start with the food (the most sore point of all): a menu with three appetizers, two first courses, two second courses, sorbet, and dessert. The only edible courses were the charcuterie and cheese platter, the sorbet, and the panettone (the only things not made by them). Everything else was INEDIBLE. I won't go into detail about each dish, otherwise it would become a papyrus. I'll focus only on three dishes that particularly perplexed me: a mix of raw seafood (Mazara shrimp, salmon, and tuna with fruit), cotechino with lentils, and squid stuffed with seafood, ricotta, and vegetables. Raw fish that tasted neither like tuna, nor salmon, nor even shrimp (the latter tasted like freshwater), who knows... Lentils burned to the taste of ash, squid rubbery, and the filling tasted like the meatloaf appetizer. All for the modest sum of €80 per person. We were a table of 12, and most of the plates were returned half full. Service: We sat down at 8:30 PM and finished the panettone around 2 AM, that's all I'll say. Overall, it was a fun evening with friends, with karaoke, music, and a raffle they offered with several prizes. What's certain is that that "food" wasn't worth €80. The table next to us complained for the same reasons and asked us to complain and ask for a discount... we let it go because we're not that kind of people, but we definitely won't be setting foot there again.
On Saturday, December 16th, we went to dinner with a work group. Calling it dinner is a compliment. The pasta was raw, the fish was definitely frozen, and the second course was completely tasteless and without any seasoning. All of this, however, cost €35. A rip-off!!!! Save your lives and don't eat there. P.S. The only positive note was the music.
It's a classic, very nice, but terribly managed place. An hour passed from the time we ordered to the time the pizzas arrived, and the pizza was nothing special. The music was extremely loud, we wanted to spend a pleasant evening with friends, and I could barely hear my neighbor. Not to mention when it came time to pay, they took half an hour to calculate the bill, and I literally spent half an hour waiting at the counter.
The place doesn't deserve managers like this. Unprepared. We arrive around 8:45 PM, sit down, order a drink, ask for Coke, they bring us Pepsi without asking if we liked it, tell us there's no Coke, and then watch it go on a tray destined for another table. An hour later, we're served a cheese focaccia, requested as an appetizer before the pizzas, "which were offered to us" to apologize for the inconvenience caused, according to the girl, by the first-time waiters! (But if you're the manager who has to manage them), one out of six pizzas is served to us after an hour and a half cold! The other 5 arrived after a good half hour, luckily hot. I think the kitchen management was in the hands of a child. The waiter was rudely greeted in front of our table! It's not allowed! The loud music made it impossible for us to communicate with each other. It was a disaster. When we paid the bill, we received the usual apologies, with a discount. Thank you, we are due.
Nice place, especially in the summer... Drinks arrive right away, but what happens next? We waited over an hour for one of six pizzas; the place was completely disorganized, and the music was so loud you couldn't hear anyone standing a centimeter away. I can understand the new and inexperienced waiters, but at least in the kitchen, you'd hope they'd be able to organize their orders, but absolutely not... Recommended if you're willing to wait for cold pizzas 😉
The staff was rude and inattentive. The place was very beautiful, with a splendid view, but extremely chaotic. They served the main courses with the appetizers, and in general the dishes were brought out of order, so much so that we all ate at different times (there were nine of us, not a huge table...). The tigelle and gnocco fritto were brought without cured meats, which were clearly ordered separately. The wine was extremely expensive, averaging over €20 a bottle, with no label listed on the menu.
