We celebrated my friend’s birthday here with a group of 12 and had an incredible time! The show and everyone in it were absolutely hilarious. I’m still amazed that most of it was improv! The cast did a fantastic job engaging with the audience, making the experience even more memorable. The food was decent as well. I’d highly recommend this place for a fun and lively group outing!

I stumbled upon this off-Broadway show while searching for a fun experience to gift my friend—and wow, what a find! They were blown away, so we decided to check it out ourselves, and oh my god, it was so good. BATSU (which means “punishment” in Japanese) is centered around a hilarious competition where the “heroes” (the incredibly talented performers who also work at the comedy club) take on wild, often absurd challenges—and if they lose, they face some pretty entertaining punishments. The venue is small, but that’s part of the charm. It creates this intimate, immersive atmosphere where you feel super close to the action, almost like you’re part of the show. Everything is improvised, which makes it all the more impressive and unpredictable. The heroes are quick, witty, and fully committed to the bit. They offer beer, sake, and a few snacks—definitely grab a drink and just let yourself enjoy the ride. Highly recommend this for anyone looking for something a little different, a little chaotic, and a whole lot of fun.

Nicky invited us, and honestly, I had no idea the show would be that much fun! Seriously, from the second we walked in, everyone was so welcoming and friendly. The staff was just awesome. And the sushi? Oh my goodness, 10/10! But the show itself? Hilarious! Nicky tried to explain the whole 'batsu' thing to me, but I just couldn't picture how much fun it would be. Two hours flew by! You guys are doing something amazing, keep it going!

By far, one of the most fun and unique experiences in the city. If you like silly fun, and a good time, you need to get tickets to batsu. The food was spectacular on top of the entertainment, and the service as well. 10/10 all around.

This experience is well worth the money and time!! This is something I would attend again and still have the same enjoyment. Laugh out loud fun from beginning to end! The doors opened 10 minutes before start time. We waited outside and given an intro with to-dos and not-to-dos before we were led in to our seats. We pass through the kitchen and into a dark but Japanese-themed room. The earlier you come, the better seats you get. We paid for VIP ($90/pp) so theoretically a better view but more than half the attendees were VIP. There are Batsu headbands on the table to indicate you want sake from the sake ninja. There were 4 pours during the experience. The price for food is super affordable!! It was neither tasty nor bad, but lovely to enjoy throughout the show. The staff come around for refills throughout the show as well. Expect a dance opener, a host and 4 improv comedians with several bits, and audience participation. Photo ops with the participants and opportunity to buy merch (sadly the t-shirt print started ripping after first wear…) No outside food/beverage allowed.

This was the craziest goofiest experience I had in New York! What a fun time, the vibes were awesome and being in the audience I had no idea what to expect. Good - It’s like a combo of improv and scripted show, it’s a dinner show so the food they serve is given mostly at the beginning - They call for volunteers, so we put our name in the hat - only one per table - We ended up getting chosen! And they punished my friend but also they got a free ticket for the next show - Get VIP - we got like 6 shots of sake and a head band - Raunchy and fun, we laughed the whole time Bad: - Runs late, started 30 min in Overall loved this so much, super memorable experience overall!

The boat is very good and the chicken too! I loved all their sushi! The show is great and super funny! I am a grumpy guy, so it says a lot! I loved it! If you are in NYC as a tourist. That's something you must do. If you are not a tourist. That's something you should do or at least put it in your bucket list!

It’s fun! This is probably a one and done type experience for me but this has been on my to do list since being here so glad I gave it a shot. It is mostly improv so hypothetically you could come multiple times. It’s a fun vibe and the staff are great - I think it’s probably best to go in a large group and if you’re drinking. My only criticism is the sushi was not good - I wasn’t expecting high quality sushi but it was worse than what you can buy at the grocery store. Something had an odd texture in both rolls I got - I wasn’t sure if it was maybe the cucumber peel? But it threw me off a bit.

Wild. That’s all i can say. Unique entertainment in NYC. Perfect for a group/party. Kudos to the team But honestly, the show is a bit too long and gets slightly boring towards the end.

I went in 2022 and had a BLAST. This show is creative and fun and has a great atmosphere. The food is fine/not bad. The negative is the scam pricing of the head band. You pay $20+ to get a headband that gets you sake. In 2022 it was unlimited sake. Last month - I had a grand total of 3 pours of sake. And the pour was only half a shot worth. So I paid$20 for maybe 3 Oz of house sake. I asked for more and they said no - only when the sake pourer comes around every 30-40 mins.
