Opinions de Chu Ros Thai New York
Churos Thai has a nice vibe whether for lunch or happy hour drinks after work. The ambiance, decor, and soft pop jazz give the place a hip feel. They have a full top shelf bar. The food was delicious. I had the lunch special spring roll, spicy basil fried rice with shrimp and thai iced tea, it was alllll goood!
Incredible flavors! The noodles were perfectly cooked with a rich, savory sauce that hit all the right notes. The staff was attentive and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more dishes!
I took my 13 year old niece here for her birthday. We came to this area for rock climbing but I found it too crowded..so we went looking for a nice dinner place..we stumbled here and it was perfect she loved it. We had crab Rangoon, chicken gyoza, chicken with coconut rice, lychee over sticky rice, chai coffee and a mocktail…all of it around $60, couldn’t believe it. Because everything was delicious, awesome portions (the chicken and rice plate easily fed us both)..and the restaurants beautiful decor..I expected a much higher bill lol..my niece loveddddd all of it and that’s telling considering she’s only 13 and she’d never had Thai food. Also wasn’t crowded and the staff were great! Will come again
I had one of the best Thai food ever. I ordered the dried red chilli sauce and it was amazing! Definitely coming back. Also it was very affordable for the quality food that you get.
Hands down the poshest Thai restaurant in the neighborhood. Shame to order take out from here when the owner clearly put alot of thought into the decor. Its a lovely place for a first date with delicious food. I was pleasantly suprised by the menu, which included vegan, street and cozy food.
I love there food and selection. The drinks are fabulous. Happy hour has such a good selection.
This my favorite Thai place in Manhattan. Fast service and delicious food. The picture shows our green papaya salad. Unfortunately, we were too excited to eat and I forgot to take a picture of our basil fried rice and pad Thai. I recommend a lychee martini, as well. The atmosphere is nice especially on a summer evening when they open the large windows.
I've visited many thai restaurants in the city but this one by far is my favorite. Amazing food, great service and they are consistent. Whether going for lunch or dinner no matter the day of the week the food and service is always amazing. Highly recommend.
Amazing Thai food! We've been here many times and keep coming. The food and ingredients are always fresh. The Thai salad is delicious and the peanut dressing (lots of it, served separately) is creamy and has just the right kick. The masaman curry is also creamy, flavorful, and so comforting—it’s my favorite place in this dense neighborhood!
The Thom Yum Fried Rice was spectacular, it was better than I could haved imagined. They have an interesting Long Island Thai Tea, it definitely got me sauced up. This is definitely new favorite thai spot in Harlem.
This place was amazing! We got the steamed shrimp and chicken dumplings as an app and I got crab meat pad thai as my entree. They did not disappoint!! Everything was so fresh and perfectly seasoned. They also offer a good selection of mocktails for us non alcohol drinkers, which is always so nice! I got a blueberry lavender mocktail. Can't wait to go back again and try more of the menu and mocktails.
Easily one the best Thai restaurants ever. Everything tasted great and fresh. We waited for 10 mins only, which was totally fine given the Friday evening business. The atmosphere was great. A little less space to walk around your table but that didn't bother us. We ordered green curry, khao soi chicken, chicken curry puff, pad kee mao (drunken noodles), Thai chicken wings, chives pancake, and Mango Mousse cake. Definitely the best green curry we had in a while. Khao soi chicken was another favorite one that we had. Thai chicken wings tasted great with these two curries (instead of their sweet chili sauce). Their drunken noodles tasted really good too, except the quantity was less for the price. Kids loved their mango mouse cake and all other food. The cost of the food was pretty reasonable. Overall, a wonderful experience for the family and I highly recommend this place.
After a long day of travel and sight-seeing, this place hit the spot! Absolutely delicious Thai cuisine that delivered on every expectation I didn't know was even hoping for. The Thai tea was fresh made and heavy on the sweeten condensed milk. The Appetizer plate was hot, fresh, and the perfect mix of starters covering that American-Asian familiarity. By far the best part of the meal was the Pad Kea Mao. Perfectly cooked with the right amount of crisp in the protein and veggies while still maintaining the springy bounce of the noodles. The dish as a whole was generous with the sauce so every bite was perfectly dressed. Despite my impressions of how much sauce was used, there was none to be found at the bottom of my plate. Perfect. Would highly recommend this spot to anyone in the area looking for some high-quality food in a vibrant, modern setting.
This place is a true gem. The atmosphere is warm and stylish, perfect for a night out or a special occasion. Every dish was flavorful and beautifully presented. Cocktails were creative and perfectly balanced. Service was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable without being overbearing. You can tell there’s real passion behind everything here. Highly recommend—I’ll definitely be back!
Great thai place! We got the kaprow, pad see ew and khao mun gai. The kaprow was great. Great wok flavor cones through. We got shrimp pad see ew and we're surprised by the amount of shrimp we got. It was full of flavor. The khao mun gai was ok but overcooked for my liking. The soup was good and refreshing with a good ginger flavor.
Hey You guys. This is my 2nd time visiting this place and I must say. The food, portions, customer service and the ambiance is off the chain. Food delicious, water ting time exceptional and the restaurant was self is absolutely fantastic I recommend anyone looking for a great THAI experience and great food. Stop by and see for yourself. I’m going to keep coming back. I almost forgot. The prices on the menu is so affordable and cheap for the portion size is off the rocker. I love this place. Right in the middle of East Harlem.
From the first minutes of visiting this place, you can feel the attentiveness of the staff to everyone and everything! Thank them very much for this! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming! The food is amazing! Chef and his assistants ❤️💐 thank you for your work! Come, you won't regret it! And we will definitely be back!
Visited here today in Harlem and the restaurant is very beautiful and cozy. My server was very kind, I did not get his name but he was attentive and everything came out pretty quickly. The food was amazinggg, portion sizes were great and everything was very flavorful. The Thai iced tea was lovely and the calamari and gyoza dumplings were fire too, as well as the Thai fried rice and the basil fried rice. I would definitely come back here again. Also was not expensive at all. 5/5 no complaints!
This is a nice and cozy spot for Thai food. Service is very nice and accommodating, and made sure that everybody’s dietary restrictions are covered (gluten free + low FODMAP). Options are plenty, and the environment is like a small garden. Didn’t get to try out the bar or the whole day happy hours, definitely will next time in the area.
My favorite Thai place in the neighborhood by a mile! Their drunken noodles have just the right amount of spice and they have great apps. Good to dine in but delivery is great here also.
In a neighborhood with no shortage of Thai restaurants—I've tried at least four of them—Chu Ros Thai stands out as something truly special. This place doesn’t just deliver great food; it creates an experience that feels like coming home, no matter who you are or where you're from. The service here is nothing short of outstanding. From the moment you walk in, you’re treated with genuine warmth and hospitality. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure you feel welcome and well taken care of. It's clear that they take pride in not just the food they serve, but also in creating a space where everyone feels like they belong. The atmosphere is incredible, with a vibe that’s both cozy and vibrant. It feels like you’ve stepped out of your house only to find yourself in a place that’s just as comfortable and inviting. The decor is charming, and the ambiance strikes a perfect balance between casual and elegant. And then there’s the food—absolutely amazing. Chu Ros Thai doesn’t just serve Thai cuisine; they elevate it to a level that’s hard to match. Every dish is bursting with flavor, prepared with care, and presented beautifully. Whether you’re a fan of spicy curries, fresh salads, or perfectly cooked noodles, you’ll find something here that will keep you coming back for more. What really sets Chu Ros Thai apart, though, is the way they embrace everyone who walks through their doors. This is a place where all lifestyles are accepted, where there’s no discrimination, and where everyone is treated like family. It’s a rare and wonderful thing to find a restaurant that not only feeds your body but also nourishes your soul. Chu Ros Thai is in a league of its own, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and experience it for yourself. You’ll feel like you’ve found a second home.
I had an incredible dining experience at this Thai restaurant in East Harlem! From the moment I walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere made me feel right at home. The Tom Yum soup was bursting with fresh, tangy flavors, and the perfect balance of spice really brought out its authentic taste. The beef fried rice was equally delicious—tender, savory, and beautifully seasoned. I also appreciated the generous portions and the attentive, friendly service from the staff. If you’re looking for top-notch Thai cuisine in a relaxed setting, this place is an absolute must-visit!
The dishes taste great, the staff acts professionally, and the prices make regular visits possible. I find myself returning here regularly. The team is warm and welcoming. You leave satisfied with what you paid. You ought to try this restaurant promptly.
Came here for a late weekend brunch. The floor to ceiling windows were kept opened and a ray of sunshine was beaming into the cozy restaurant. Appreciated the decor inside that gave it a pop vibe to the place. we tried the shrimp mango salad and pork chop. The pork chop was excellent with four to five slices of charred pork with steamed veggies and rice. The salad was also tasty with ample shrimp but I should’ve ordered with the sweet chilli dressing on the side, as it was a little too saucy for me. Will come back to try their other dishes!
This place is so cute. The service is amazing, they are so kind and attentive. We got our food within 10 minutes of ordering. I work on the upper east side and travel all the way up town after work to get dinner. The food truly never disappoints. If you have to get one thing please try their pad see ew. Also, every time I go the papaya salad is a must. If I could give more stars I would. Just refer to the pictures to see how cute this place is.
Amazing and beautiful place for having good time with friends and also having a different and delicious Thai food, highly recommend it. Taste of the foods are perfect, you can find so many options in the menu with very good and reasonable price, amazing staff and service is great, drinks are good. They have happy hour after 7 pm which is really nice.
Thai food 🚨 absolutely gem in New York. Small but absolutely beautiful inside, feel seat in the Thai garden. Yes, absolutely is one of the best Thai restaurant ever with friendly service. They offer so many variety choose of food and cocktails 🍹 They have amazing happy hour everyday until 7pm with valuable price. ‼️Monday - Friday lunch special 11am - 3:00pm. We got our food within 10 minutes of ordering. OMG! It’s was really fast and nice to people who only have 1.5h lunch break. ✨Mixed Appetizer ✨Creamy Hot Pot TomYum Talay ✨Khao Soi Chicken ✨Crab Meat Fired Rice Creamy Hot Pot TomYum Talay 🍲 with Salmon, Shrimp, New Zealsnd Mussels and other veggies. Fresh, Tasty, Flavorful. So surprised! The decoration of the restaurant will change on winter 🥶 summer 🌞
Dining here was an awesome experience. I love Pad Thai and this place made it absolutely perfect. The sticky rice with mango for dessert was just heavenly. Highly recommended. Another fun aspect is they change the decor twice a year to follow the seasons, so it’s always looking a little different depending on when you visit.
Great restaurant for lunch & dinner! I recently was in the area and decided to pop in for lunch. This restaurant is small but absolutely beautiful inside, very aesthetically pleasing. When I sat down, I was greeted right away and provided with the menus. Chu Ros offers many different food options and cocktails & they have an amazing happy hour. I highly recommend the panang curry and pineapple fried rice, absolutely delicious!
If you're craving incredible Thai food, you need to check out Churo Thai on the UES. It’s a cozy spot with a huge selection of fresh, delicious dishes — everything we tried was packed with flavor! The Tom Yum Soup was super flavorful, the Curry Khao Soi was absolutely delicious, and the cocktails? Next level. The decor is vibrant and full of beautiful flowers, and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly. Service was amazing from start to finish. Definitely my favorite hidden gem in the city!
Admittedly, I originally reviewed because they were offering a free iced coffee for a review. I will say, it was SOO good! We ordered a little of everything, rice, noodles and 2 entrees. Everything was really good. Very flavorful. The staff was really kind and attentive as well.
Beautiful, cozy restaurant. So lovely to sit inside because they open the front entirely. Lovely cutlery and plates, and food was delicious. Beautiful presentation. Highly recommend the crab fried rice.
Loved this place! Warm and cozy; friendly atmosphere; attentive service. Great food. Clean and peaceful dining. Fast service. Enjoyed the Pad Thai with Tofu very much. Nice selection of food and drinks. Will definitely return.
We absolutely love Chu Ros Thai. The ambiance is great, the service is always attentive and friendly, and the location and music make it such a relaxing place to unwind. The drinks are amazing too, consistently well made. My girlfriend and I have been coming here almost every week, and it has quickly become one of our favorite spots. Everything we’ve tried has been excellent. The Tom Kha soup is rich and comforting, the veggie emeralf dumplings are fresh and perfectly done, and the mango shrimp spicy salad was absolutely outstanding. This place never disappoints. Highly recommended for great food, great vibes, and a consistently wonderful experience.
We came here for our anniversary lunch and wow, we weren't disappointed. Great food and wonderful atmosphere. The rangoons to start were really good, and the appetizer that came with our entrees were excellent too. I had goyoza and my wife had the veggie dumplings. We had the panang & red curry for our entrees, again, so delicious. Lovely flavor and just the right spice, the chicken was tender and the veggies fresh. Next time we're in NYC I'm sure we'll stop in.
First I got the cancer —coffee or me . It has coffee beans in it. At first I wasn’t too sure about it but the bitterness from the coffee mixed with the sweetness and then the nice smell of cinnamon made it nice. Then the appetizer came out. I ordered the five star Thai dumplings . Steamed ground chicken and shrimp dumpling. Served with soy vinaigrette sauce. The dumplings were soft but had texture and had weight too it. The soy vinaigrette was sweet and thick which I liked. Lastly , I got the basil sauce . With chicken, mixed veggies ( onions, sweet red pepper, green pepper, orange pepper and some basil) with a side of jasmine rice. Eventhough I asked for it to be made spicy, It wasn’t too spicy.
My sister and I stopped by for a quick dinner while waiting for our mom, who was having surgery at the nearby hospital. We were worried and hungry, and came across this local Thai restaurant with many good reviews. We decided to try it, and it turned out to be such a wonderful experience. The food was absolutely delicious and authentic, the service was warm and attentive, and the background music was gentle and calming—just what we needed to ease our anxious hearts. By the end of our meal, we received a call from the surgeon telling us that our mom’s surgery was a great success. This dinner brought comfort and joy to us on such a stressful day. I would love to come back again when I get the chance. Highly recommended—authentic, tasty Thai food and excellent service!
Fantastic pre-theater discovery in East Harlem — Chu Ros Thai: great selection, tasty, authentic, generous, reasonable, quick, friendly, and a beautiful space. To support this, here are our duck selections — basil and sriracha over flat noodles. Honestly, the variety of duck options here is like I have never seen before and we have two duck aficionados in the family. There were also green curry, obligatory papaya salad and tom yum. With all that, the most memorable selection among us carnivores was a vegetarian entree called Eggplant’s Garden — the texture and mildly spicy sweet sauce are not to be missed. Our carefully boxed leftovers lasted two more lunches.
One of the hidden gem restaurants in NY city, Cozy and lovely atmosphere , friendly service . The food very delicious , hot and very tasty. Vegetarian spring roll was hot and yummy. Chicken wings so crispy. Thai curry with chicken and rice with rich flavour. Seating area so beautiful and clean.
I had an absolutely fantastic experience at the restaurant! The service was exceptional, and I felt genuinely valued when they inquired about my allergies. I tried the Duck Tamarind, and although I couldn’t finish it due to being so full, the tender duck with its crispy skin was absolutely delightful. I wholeheartedly recommend the Honey Roasted Duck; it was nothing short of incredible! This was my first visit, but it definitely won’t be my last. Plus, the prices were surprisingly reasonable for such a five-star experience. Here’s to many more delicious meals ahead! Cheers! 🎉
Delicious Thai Food in NYC - A Must-Visit Spot! This was my second time dining at Chu Ros Thai, and it was just as amazing as the first! Every time I visit New York, I make sure to stop by. This time, I tried the Hot Pot Tom Yum Talay, and it was absolutely delicious—packed with bold, flavorful broth and fresh seafood. My brother swears by their Drunken Noodles, and I can see why! The service was excellent, and the drinks were great too. The only thing to note is that it’s a bit pricey, our meal for two came to over $133 with tip for just 2 entres an appetizer and 2 drinks, so it’s something to consider if you're on a budget. That said, with rising prices everywhere, it’s understandable, and the quality makes it worth it. Overall, I’d give this place 4.5 stars fantastic food, great service, and a solid choice for Thai cuisine in NYC. Highly recommend!
Walking into Chu Ros Thai is like discovering one of the city’s best kept Thai secrets. The cozy restaurant serves up bold and rich authentic Thai flavors with many excellent cocktails and drink choices. It’s straight up Thai soul food with utmost Thai hospitality. Perfect for date night, dinner, or even a solo recharge spot when you need a reset. Portions are generous and prices are very reasonable in this clean restaurant. Craving Thai by the Upper East Side? Look no further. Chu Ros Thai is right there.
I had some Tom Yum Soup from here and the flavor was just too much. I took it home to try to dilute it with chicken broth and it still was too much. Maybe they accidentally added to mush salt that night. Idk
Nice Thai place for the neighborhood with a bit punny name for Spanish Harlem lol. A bit too "romantically" lit which is a pet peeve of mine. Tom Yum soup is hot and spicy great for the winter, so is the pork belly curry. Tastfully decorated with a full bar and good cocktails. A bit cozy for our party.
Just ate here. Food was good. I had to take one star off. I order appetizers five minutes later the server came back and took my main order. A few minutes later she came and dropped off my appetizers and main meal at the same time. Pad see ew was good, appetizers sampler was ok, mago sticky rice was ok, my mix drink was ok I didn't taste any liquor. Since the appetizers and dessert and drink was only ok cause me to give them 4 stars. Would I come back here. Yes I would. The food was good. I would not drive out my way to go here.
This place is beautiful, not too crowded, has great drinks and kind staff. The appetizers and food were very good. I will definitely visit again 😀 we tried the chicken pad Thai, and it had great flavor. Also tried the fried chicken pad Thai, which had a lighter sauce flavor, but the chicken was great.
It’s hard finding authentic and affordable Thai food in Manhattan, let alone UES. However, this place truly served some of the most flavorful Thai dishes that I’ve had in the city. It doesn’t compare to authentic Thai cuisine, but it comes pretty close. We started with fried calamari as our appetizer. It was definitely very good, but I felt it could have used more seasonings and spices to bring out the calamari flavor. Some tamarind or cayenne pepper would have really brought out more dimension to the dish, but overall I had no other complaints. The cook was just right. I was recovering from strained vocal cords and was craving soup. The ground pork Tom yum soup was the medicine that I needed to cure my throat. It was bright, savory, and had the right amount of acid and spice. The crunchy wonton chips added a depth of flavor and texture to the dish, a detail that I really appreciated. I also tried my friend’s fried chicken dish and it was edible. The chicken looked a little undercooked, and it was rather one dimensional. The sauce was definitely there to add some kick, but it could have been spicier. I was missing a lot of the flavor profiles that are traditional of Thai cuisine, so it would have been great to see it in this dish as well. Overall, I had a great dining experience. My throat wasn’t feeling too good, and the servers graciously provided me with hot water and lemon to drink instead of cold water. The aesthetic of the restaurant was also nice, and I really appreciated that it wasn’t blazing hot inside of the restaurant. I’d definitely come back here again to try out more of their dishes. More importantly, I would come back just for their wonderful hospitality.
Pretty good Thai food, definitely more on the no frills side for Manhattan Thai places. Is it as authentic as you can get? No it’s not, but it’s still good for a more local neighborhood Thai place. I like that offer a variety of protein (vegetarian and vegan friendly). I don’t have any dietary restrictions myself but I appreciate their range. I got the mock duck basil over rice lunch special, portion was fair and it even came with gyozas as a small app. The basil sauce was too sweet in my opinion. I would definitely come back if I’m in the area but I wouldn’t travel out of my way to eat here.
I visited this restaurant with a friend and was instantly impressed by its beautiful, welcoming atmosphere. It was a crisp, sunny day, so we loved that the restaurant had an open-space concept; perfect for enjoying the weather. The food and drinks were absolutely amazing; everything exceeded our expectations, and I’d definitely come back again! We had the chicken satay (so flavorful!), pineapple fried rice with chicken, and some crispy French fries all so good. The drinks were also fantastic; we tried a few and loved every single one. There are two more things not added to the description but i did take pictures of them/ ones beef and ones chicken all of the sauces provided were devine.
A great little Thai spot with good dishes. The pad Thai was good, nicely seasoned and satisfying. The Khao soi was excellent, and stood out. The prices were slightly high at normal price, so the lunch special would be great. Around $17 a dish, so above average. The cocktails were good, but the margarita a touch sweet and the michelada was just a normal Michelada. This is a solid spot if you’re in a pinch, and I will come back for the lunch special menu.
The food was pretty average Thai food. Frinks taste like juice. However, the service was horrible. The staff are not attentive, They were very rude. Came on a Sunday not busy. Will not return again.
I stopped by not knowing what to expect as you can probably count the amount of Thai restaurants I have been to on one hand. We were seated quickly and the service was good out of the gate. The chairs could have been a little more comfortable, but it was not the end of the world. We went right for main courses; I got their fried chicken dish with rice, soup, and thai sauce. My peer got a ground chicken dish which also looked pretty good. Before I even get into the food, I was pleasantly surprised on how quick everything came out. We did not wait for long and got to eating very quickly. The chicken was pretty good and so was the rice. The dish also came with this Thai soup that complimented everything well. I am not really a soup guy, so this was a nice surprise. The Thai sauce also went well with the chicken and rice; my only gripe was I wish they served just a little bit more rice on the dish. I understand chicken is a protein, but I felt like some more rice would have been nice to bring it all together. Some added rice with more sauce without the extra charge would have pushed this to the next level. Other than that, I was happy with my meal. I tasted my peers food as well which was nice, and they had a wide selection of drinks. I will add that they do not offer free soda refills which is something to mention, but not a dealbreaker. The menu is also huge; I would definitely be interested in trying some of their other foods because we barely scratched the surface. I would say my overall experience was pretty decent and I may comeback to check out some of their other options. If you like Thai food and want a quick meal, this may be a good spot to check out.
Wow, terrible service. I have never experienced such a rude staff. Wow, They have good ratings because the policy of giving a free drink for a 5 star rating. Food was okay, average at best. I did like the chicken wings. Again, rude people. The guy next to me was truly upset. Too long of a story, but in short very rude staff. Wow.
Very unfortunate since the food was good and the lunch special was well priced. But the service, from our server Mary, was horrible. It went from pleasant to unpleasant in the drop of a hat. It all started when we asked for the status of a drink, since we already received 2/3 of our drinks and received all our food - we thought it wasn’t crazy to ask for the status of our last drink. Very odd, but the only experience went down from there. We didn’t even want to finish our food due to the rudeness we experienced. Food was good though, so definitely do pick up instead of dining it.
