My friends and I ate here and the food was amazing!! Food tastes fresh, flavorful and a hefty portion of food for the price. I had the Bacon Jam Burger, that was CRACK! So good a hint of sweet with a whole lot of savory, the fries are the perfect combination of crispy on the outside and mash on the inside and they aren’t bland! The employees treated us so well, they were friendly, attentive and it was an overall great experience. If you come here definitely try the cheesesteak egg rolls, fried Mac n cheese bites and bacon jam burger. Everything was yummy!
This was my go to all summer for me and my son. He loves the chicken tenders i do the cheesesteak meal. Service is always welcoming anytime i go in.
The best Chessesteak I ever had. If you love that Tuffle Oil taste you must try it. It was cooked exactly how I asked. Well done. The meat was not overly chewy how some steaks are. I ordered the Truffle Wiz Wit Steak $16.99 Fried onions, cooper sharp, and black truffle wiz, on a seeded roll. It's come with a cherry pepper mayo that I did not get. Next time I will try on the side.
I’ve been here more than a handful of times and have yet to try anything that isn’t delicious. Cheesesteaks are on point. Right now I’m stuck on the honey garlic chicken. Two words for you. Dee Licious.
Our community welcomes this fantastic new addition. This spot combines quality and character. Could you envision a more complete offering? The food quality is outstanding. This restaurant has me completely sold.
Definitely a top notch cheesesteak. Really good roll. People here are very nice and care about the food they are serving.
Ordered the buffalo chicken cheesesteak, mac and cheese bites, and long hot steak cheese steak. The real winners were the long hot and Mac &cheese bites!! They were made with all fresh ingredients and delicious. The service staff were so considerate. The Mac and cheese bites come with an addictive sauce. Will be coming back
Found this spot on instagram and had to check it out … and so glad I did. The staff was friendly and gave a breakdown of the different options. We ordered the original cheesesteaks and also chicken and yummmmmm! Fresh ingredients and everything was savory and delicious 🤤!
First time here and I see why my boyfriend loves this place. Everything was great from the aura of the store, to the music choice. Greg was great!! He walked us through the menu offered his favorite choices and was very patient. Also great interaction with his team.
Best Philly cheesesteak in NYC. If you are not willing to drive to Philly 2hrs+, this is your go to spot. Excellent customer service. Clean tables.I recommend the cooper cheddar cheesesteak. A sandwich will run you around $18 with taxes. Street parking only. Dine in tables. Definitely worth a stop.
Stopped in bc I love cheesesteaks and havent had a decent one in a while and found a gem! Super chill inside and the guys behind the counter were equally chill. The classic was really good! Would def come back
So I’m absolutely obsessed with cheesesteaks… and let me tell you. This is one of the best in the city. As someone who gets multiple every time I go to Philly this one is about as authentic as it gets. I got the classic with onions and mushrooms. It was PERFECT. Also the staff is super nice and you don’t have to wait long. Highly recommend this place if you’re craving an authentic Philly hoagie. The vibe in here is great too. They were playing amazing throwback dubstep and house, can’t wait to go back and try more :)
Hands down the best chicken cheesesteak I've ever eaten in NYC and I've lived in NYC for 24 years. I also lived in philly for college so a know a good cheesesteak. I ordered it with the Cooper sharp cheddar with ketchup and onions! The staff was very kind and welcoming.
The Classic Steak: 4.5-5 stars Cheese Lover Fries: 4 stars stopped at G's Cheesesteaks on Halloween night to pick up a late dinner. G's Cheesesteaks serves up a menu of cheesesteaks (beef or chicken); cheese fries; chicken cutlet sandos, burgers, and more. located in Alphabet City on the corner of Avenue B and Houston St. it's a fairly new spot in the neighborhood. the interior is colorful, well-lit, and clean. there's a good amount of tabled seating, considering it is a medium-sized space. beverage wise, there are soft drinks and several beers on tap. ordered a Classic Steak (chopped Ribeye, fried onions, Cooper Sharp cheese, Cheez Wiz, on a roll) plus Cheese Lover Fries (Cooper's Sharp cheese, Cheese Wiz, bacon crumbles over French fries). the cheesesteak is legit good and made-to-order on the grill. really thin slices of grilled ribeye steak that has melted mix of cheese wiz and cheddar cheese and grilled onions--all sandwiched up on long soft roll. honestly, the cheesesteak is excellent. you can taste grilled seasoned beef (not dry at all, full of savory juices) melding with the sharp melted cheddar, the smoothness of the cheese whiz, and the caramelized softness of the grilled onions. beyond that, the rolls is so good--it's soft yet firm and absorbs all that beef, cheese, and onion goodness. the roll has to be freshly baked bc it really takes the cheesesteaks to a higher level. the cheesesteak being made to order makes the cheesesteaks also excellent because they come hot off the grill , get wrapped and bagged, and then ton you. there's is a bit of wait bc nothing is precooked but that is also why everything tastes so fresh and flavorful. Cheese Lover Fries were good. basically it's cheese fries with bacon crumbled over it. the French fries were super crispy and soft inside. the melted cheese sauce of Cooper's sharp & Cheese Wiz is rich, smooth, and what you want smothering the fries. tbh, i am a fan of bacon (ALWAYS) but it adds way to much saltiness and kinda takes away from the goodness of the cheese fries, themselves which are tasty by themselves. between the fries getting season plus the bacon, it makes it a little too salty for my preference. if i had to order it again, i would do so without the bacon. the service is very chill and hospitable. when i was there to pick my takeout order, it was clear they were getting ready to close up but my cheesesteak and fries were not rushed or anything and the quality of it was really good. I i could feel the heat of the sandwich and fries outta the bag. it was still plenty hot when i devoured both! great addition to Alphabet City and a delicious one at that. if you're a fan of the cheesesteak and are unwilling to drive to Philly...you have a quality option in NYC.
I already knew the Cheesesteaks were fire, and that the Tenders were the perfect representation of crispy and juicy, but I wasn’t prepared for their Smashburger to dethrone my precious favorite burger in the city. Only G’s could improve the O.G smashburger with their caramelized onions instead of the grill pressed usual.
Today I visited this restaurant with my boyfriend, and I have to say, the food is SOOO GOOD it’s hard to put into words! I can’t even remember the last time I had a cheesesteak this delicious AND made with high-quality beef! Without a doubt, it’s the best cheesesteak in the city and nothing comes close! We ordered “The Classic” cheesesteak, mozzarella sticks, fries, cheesesteak egg rolls, and a canned Coke. The total came to $52 which is a bit pricey, but when it comes to quality, I'm ALWAYS willing to pay. This food was SPECTACULAR! We shared everything and still had leftovers! I highly recommend sharing especially if you’re trying multiple things off the menu. The mozzarella sticks weren’t my favorite, as I prefer them with more of a bite or thicker coating, but everything else was a perfect 10/10. A special shoutout to the truffle mayo that came on the side by accident (probably not an accident but a nice gesture lol), it took them from an 8 to a 10! I’ll definitely be ordering that on my next visit. The staff, including who I believe to be the owner, were incredibly friendly and attentive, checking on us several times. You can really tell they’re passionate about what they’ve built and are genuinely grateful for their customers. The love they put into their restaurant truly shows! The restaurant has about 18 seats, and the restroom was nice and clean, which is always a bonus. There’s even a jukebox where you can play your favorite song, adding a fun touch to the vibe. Overall, the food, atmosphere, and service were worth every penny, and we can’t wait to come back soon!
Wow their food is really good! The bread is super fresh - the manager showed me how he actually makes it all day long. We tried a few different sandwiches. Cheesesteak, vodka burrata, and honey bbq chicken were all awesome. Rich and delicious. Definitely recommend if you’re hungry in the neighborhood!
G’s Cheesesteaks 6 Avenue B New York, NY 10009 Cheesesteak The bread is perfectly toasted and the cheesesteak is well seasoned. The sautéed onions were caramelized to the perfect color. “G” this cheesesteak was amazing! #cheesesteaks #cheesesteaksandwich #gscheesesteak #GsCheese #nyccheesesteak
The atmosphere is cool, the place is very clean. Shout out to the cashier Deliya! She was very nice. As a first time customer she walked me through the menu very plesenty. I'll recommend coming here.
A great Philly cheesesteak is hard to come by, but this place delivered on everything—fresh bread, great seasoning, amazing cheese, perfect quantity, and real quality. I’ll definitely be returning and bringing my friends and family along. Thank you, and can’t wait to be back!
Hands Down the Best Philly Cheeseteak I've ever had. If there are any left please advise me. But Gs take the cake all the way. Great Food Great Customer Service Great Location for a late night spot after the bar. Been here 3xs already waiting for my 4th visit. You won't be disappointed.
Ordered a classic that comes with Cooper Sharp Cheddar cheese, onions of course and cheese whiz. Very delicious!!!!!! Those combinations will have you wanting more lol. Try it out and enjoy, I will definitely be making another journey to this location. Customer service bug plus as well. Thank you.
Great cheesesteak sandwiches, truffle fries are top shelf and the truffle mayo OMG. Even though they forgot it in my order Ahhhhhhhh!!!
Was super excited to come and try this place out since the location had been idle for years and they didn’t disappoint. Got a few things my favourite being the Fig Cutlet & The steak classic. Inside is very sleek and modern perfect for just grabbing a bite to go or to sit amongst friends and eat. Welcome to the neighbourhood!

Stopped in for a quick lunch. Cheesesteak was absolutely delicious. April (Manager) was friendly and welcoming, she made my experience five stars. Clean, fast, and efficient service. Must try spot in the East Village.
G's knows its way around a cheesesteak. Rarely have I had one I didn't like, but these were particularly good. The wife and I came in here late a few nights ago without realizing they were about to close, but the guy behind the counter let us get in one last order. Took two classics (one seeded and one seedless) to go and enjoyed them in the car. Fueled us up good for a long drive.
Went for the first time a couple of weeks ago and had an amazing experience. Our meal was absolutely perfect and the service was incredible. Everything was very fresh, great portion, and the ability to customize our order. The lady at the counter went above and beyond to show us hospitality. Can't find that everywhere! We'll defintely be going back.

Food is great but mad they took the loaded fries off the menu it was really good . #BringTheLoadedFriesBack. Overall its my fav cheesesteak spot.
The food was just ok, I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here but if you’re in the neighborhood give it a go. The customer service was great, we ate in and they continuously made sure we had everything we needed.
The vodka burrata was absolutely phenomenal, possibly the best chicken cutlet sandwich we’ve ever had. The vodka sauce had a subtle sweetness that paired perfectly with the creamy burrata. The bread added crunchiness on the outside, yet was soft on the inside. The cheesesteak, on the other hand, felt underwhelming in comparison and was borderline bland. To be fair though, the chicken cutlet vodka set a very high bar to follow. Although this spot is cheesesteak first based on its name, I would definitely recommend the Vodka Burrata as it is clearly the highlight of the menu.
I usually get a sandwich and a side. I was expecting smaller cheesesteaks that were fine taste wise. But not only were they actually bigger than I expected, they tasted way better than I thought they would. The wings were average. I had already overate at this point. A cheesesteak and fries. 10 wings were a bit much after. I wasn't expecting the cheesesteak eggrolls to be so delicious. It's my favorite thing after the cheesesteaks. I went in thinking it would suck. The onion rings and fries are good. The smash burger fries were not really an improvement. I had it a few times to make sure. But if you just want a burger patty too, go for it. The basic smashburger is alright. It is not warm enough inside during the winter. Even if no one comes through the door for a while, you still feel a slight cold breeze on your legs. The bathroom is clean.
Cheesesteak was good. A good mixed of cheese and meat mixed to together. My only complaint was I tasted more bread then I did meat after every bite... A little more meat to each sandwich will be perfect. I recommend G's if your in the area...not a far walk from Tompkins Park
Personally I would like to add is that the environment and atmosphere of the place is very nice good music I like the ambience & the restrooms are clean and very decorative Now onto the food they have a very excellent selection however, I was severely disappointed that they did not have the cheesesteak egg rolls because this is an area that I don’t frequent very often and don’t know when I’m gonna get back . I ordered the smash burger fries, which was decent however, it was just a lump of meat and cheese on top of the actual fries. It wasn’t intermingling per se, and I had the ribeye cheesesteak, which was good if I do return, it will be to try a chicken cheesesteak, most definitely. As for the service, the guy at the counter was very nice. However, the woman who is at the counter needs to fix her attitude. I tipped 15% on my order which means I tipped roughly over seven dollars for a take-out order and when I asked for two containers of animal sauce she looks at me and says that’ll be $.50 each is if I didn’t have the money to afford it When she should’ve seen that I tipped her over seven dollars for poor lackluster service that she provided. Which I regret tipping I should’ve only tipped 10% because that means that I could’ve afforded to get four packets of extra animal source which cost me 218 instead of tipping seven dollars +2 dollars for a animal source which means I spent nearly $10 on nothing
meh - spendy and didn't blow me away. High bar here in NYC for sandwiches. The cheesesteak was reasonably authentic.

I ordered the cheesesteak egg rolls and truffle fries, and believe me I wanted to love both, but the egg rolls were much too greasy and salty, and the fries had way too much truffle seasoning on them. The man next to me had a cheesesteak hero that looked great, so maybe that's the way to go. Also, cashier wasn't very friendly, but the atmosphere and seating in there is very good. May be worth a stop if you're in the area.
This place has a lot FLUFF behind it. But it didn't live up to ANY of it for me. I walked into thus place super charged ready to get my eat on. Especially after all the hype from others. Funny thing is what I enjoyed more was the extra stuff I ordered not the thing there known for.....Cheesesteaks. I loved the atmosphere in this place great vibe. They're customer service....as professional as it gets. But when it comes to the food....Houston ....we have a problem. A big one. They sell these cheesesteak egg rolls that are through roof delicious. There fries were pretty damn tasty.....the onion rings were decent. But again my problem....is the cheesesteak....I ordered what sounded like a delicious cheesesteak.... but that turned to be disastrous. It was indeed one of the worst sandwiches I've ever eaten. I think it's clear to say that as good as the side dishes were that accompanied my sandwich... I will NOT be making a return trip to G's. Thank you but no thank you.
It was decent. But didn’t live up to the hype. Danny & Coop’s is far and away the best Cheesesteak I’ve had not only in NYC but anywhere.
Ordered a cheesesteak with caramelized onions and instead I received a cheesesteak with BURNT ONIONS!! And that was all that I could taste. Two bites and I had to throw it away. I wasted 18.02😡😤

I got the lunch special n thank God I did cause at regular price the cheesesteak is not worth the price. I think someone else said it best as far as the other food its exception but the main item (the CHEESESTEAK) Is regular. The only reason I didn't give 1 star is because they don't necessarily advertise it as a PHILLY cheesesteak . If they did it would be disrespectful. Problem is even for a general cheesesteak its pretty regular. At regular price u could basically get 2 sandwiches for the price of one somewhere else.
This place used to be my favorite but then they made their bread much smaller and kept the same price. I’d rather you increase the price than give me much less for the same price. I understand businesses have to survive on small margins but not telling your customers the changes made is insulting
Man I hate leaving bad reviews. This place used to be great, but quality and service seriously went downhill. I ordered a single cheesesteak to stay and it took 45 minutes in their freezing cold dining room. It finally arrived, a decent size, bread nice and crispy, light. But the meat was full of old dry burnt bits from the griddle. I hope it improves, but honestly not worth it for the price or the time.

This place advertised on Uber Eats 15 minute deliver. Proceeded to make me go to a different tracker and it took 2+ hours and our food was freezing cold and soggy. Terrible service and liars. Do not order delivery EVER from here.
Worst cheese steak ever!! Incompetent workers that obviously can't read to get an order correct. I ordered a cheese steak with no onions, mayo and tomatoes on a seedless hero. What i got was a cheese steak covered in onions, mayo and no tomatoes on a hero covered in seeds!! I cant have seeds or onions. Was told 25 minutes for my order which turned into 55 minutes. Needless to say I threw the whole cheese steak in the garbage. Worst experience ever!!
